"I would never let that happen," Aro said, trying to convince himself. Bella smiled at him and leaned in. Aro forced a smile and leaned in. The kiss lingered for a moment.

A knock startled the couple. Aro was annoyed while Bella's face twisted into an expression of disappointment. Aro sighed and stood up. He walked to the door and opened it.

Caius and Athenodora stood in front of him. While Caius was neutral, Athenodora was bouncing on her feet like an excited child. "Caius and Athenodora," Aro greeted, sounding utterly bored.

"We are here to meet Bella," Athenodora said, pushing past Aro, inside the room. Aro was surprised while Caius had a proud smirk. "Now, are you not going to invite me in?" Caius teased.

"Come in," Aro grumbled, tired of the teasing. Caius' smirk grew as he strided in. He found Athenodora standing in front of Bella, examining her with a cute, adoring grin.

Bella stood awkwardly in front of the Volturi Queen, not sure of what she should do. "You are so beautiful," Athenodora squealed. Bella let out a nervous chuckle. Athenodora jumped in to hug her, taking the brunette newborn by surprise.

Bella wasn't sure what she should do, so she awkwardly hugged her back. "I am Athenodora and you must be Bella, because if you aren't Bella then it's going to be very awkward, so, are you Bella?" She said excitedly.

"I am Bella," Bella confirmed. "That's good," Athenodora said, turning to look at Aro. "What is she wearing for the masquerade?" She asked. "Masquerade?" Bella asked, confused on what's happening.

"She doesn't know about Masquerade?" Athenodora asked, surprised that Aro didn't tell her. "Aro what is this Masquerade?" Bella asked. Caius let the scene unfold, amusement dancing on his sharp features while Aro was trying to answer everyone.

"Can you both ask one by one?" Aro asked. "Let them ask the way they are asking, Aro," Caius said, trying to hide the fact that he was liking the way Bella was questioning Aro openly. There aren't many, if any, who question Aro.

Everyone were silent, waiting for someone to speak. Aro thought that this was the time for him to speak. "Alright, for Athenodora, first, I am not sure what she is going to wear and second, I didn't get the time to tell her about it."

"Now, for Bella, first, as per customs, we are hosting a masquerade ball on the occasion of your turning and I think that the answer for your second question is in the first one," Aro replied all the questions.

Bella and Athenodora looked at each other. "Then you tell her all the information while I go and select something for her," Athenodora said, walking towards Caius.

She grabbed his hand and threw a smile at Aro and Bella while walking out of the room with Caius on her toes. Bella was staring at Aro. Aro turned to look at her.

"What?" He asked. "Nothing, it's just, no one has ever been so... good with me," Bella admitted. "I don't understand," Aro was confused on why someone won't appreciate Bella.

"No one just... never mind," Bella dismissed it and sat down on the armchair beside the bed. She looked at Aro with a small smile. Aro responding the smile with his own but in his mind, he still wanted to ask her what she meant.
