《The Triplets' Guides (Reader Insert Version)》Dipper's Guide to the Unexplained: Giant Tooth
Advertisement
Dipper was standing outside on the shore of a lake when he finally turned on the camera. He was looking at it with a rather serious expression.
"Welcome back to Dipper's guide to the unexplained" he said to the camera, holding up the latest sign. "Anomaly number forty two: the tooth."
He turned the camera so that it was facing an enormous tooth the size of a shed sitting lopsided on the shore.
Mabel was standing near it, poking it with a stick, while (y/n) was just climbing to the top of it.
"We're here for scale!" said Mabel cheerfully.
(y/n) finally reached the top, and she stood up onto her feet. However, she suddenly started to lose her balance, and she waved her arms frantically and leaned forward, managing not to fall off.
"Hey, careful with that tooth!" Dipper scolded.
(y/n) put her hands on her hips and frowned.
"Oh, I'm fine, thanks for asking" she said. "But I don't matter, just as long as the tooth's okay."
Dipper sighed, then continued to speak to the camera.
"I found it yesterday while I was...practicing."
Yesterday, Dipper was standing on the same shore, but this time, he was playing a tuba that was larger than him.
However, he suddenly noticed something very peculiar further along down the shore.
He pointed in its direction.
"Hey, is that a giant tooth?"
Dipper was now right next to the tooth, putting his hand against its enamel.
"Strangely human, but it's gigantic" he said. "It's bigger than any fish or lake monster I've ever seen. And we're gonna find out where it came from."
Dipper turned on the camera again. This time, he was in the fishing shop of Tate McGucket, who was standing behind the counter with his back facing him.
"Tooth?" Tate was saying, as he put a few guns away. "No, I don't know nothing about a tooth."

"I'm thinking about paddling out on that lake tonight" Dipper said.
"Bit of advice, boy, you see bubbles on that lake, run" Tate said, suddenly with a rather serious tone.
"What, why?"
Tate finally turned around.
"No questions, get that camera out of here!"
It was night time when Dipper finally turned the camera back on. He was on the shore of the lake, and he picked up a flashlight off the ground and shone it on his face.
"I'm here at the lake to investigate" he said. "I brought Mabel and (y/n) for backup."
He turned the camera towards his sisters.
(y/n) held up an invention at the camera.
"I brought this rocket blaster, in case we need to make a get-away."
Mabel grinned at the camera.
"And I brought Bear-O, my adorable childhood puppet!" she said, holding up the hideous bear puppet, which had stuffing falling out of it.
"Hi-O!"
Mabel then turned towards Bear-O.
"Ain't that right, honey?"
She then acted out the bear puppet.
"Did somebody say honey?"
Mabel started laughing.
"Nope. Creepy. Bear-O's creepy" said Dipper, as he turned the camera away from Mabel and towards the boat they were going to take out onto the lake.
"Yeah, everybody hates Bear-O" (y/n) added.
Mabel shoved herself and Bear-O back into the camera's view.
"But guys, who could hate Bear-O?"
"I can think of a few people" said Dipper.
Mabel was now singing on a small stage with Bear-O, a sign next to her read "Bear-O the Great!"
"They're quite a pair,
Mabel and Bear-O
Her un-bearlievable bear!"
Bear-O's arm fell off at the end of the song.
The kids that she was performing in front of were all clutching each other as they cried in fear of Bear-O.
One of the kids bolted away from the stage, knocking over the camera in the process.

"I hate Bear-O, mommy! I hate it!"
"Aw, come on, you'll see!" Mabel insisted, as she hugged onto Bear-O. "You, me, (y/n), and Bear-O are the adventure team of a lifetime!"
Bear-O was now sitting alone on the shore of the lake as the triplets were paddling in the boat on the water.
Mabel had a rather grumpy expression on her face.
She had wanted to keep Bear-O, but seeing as it was two against one, she had no choice.
"Ok, something out there left that tooth" said Dipper, as he placed the camera on his lap so that he could row. "And we're gonna find out what it is."
Seeing that Dipper's attention was occupied, Mabel suddenly reached downwards and then held up a sign to the camera that said "Do you want more Bear-O?! Let your voice be heard! Write: Mabel Pines ℅ Mystery shack, Gravity Falls."
Dipper finally noticed.
"No, no, come on!"
"What are we supposed to be looking for?" Mabel whispered to her siblings.
"I don't know, just look out for bubbles in the water" said Dipper.
Mabel started to pan the camera around, when she suddenly found several bubbles forming near a modest island.
"Guys, look!" she said, pointing towards the bubbles.
(y/n) shone the flashlight towards the bubbles Mabel pointed out.
"They've over by that island!" (y/n) said.
Dipper turned towards his sisters.
"We have to see what happens!"
Suddenly, there was a loud, rumbling sound.
Dipper started to worry.
"Oh no, what was that?"
Mabel screamed, and pointed towards the tiny island, which was now trembling, causing the entire lake to rumble.
"Aaaahhhhh!"
"What is that?"
"It doesn't matter! Row! Row! Row!"
Mabel dropped the camera, and she and Dipper started to row frantically.
Meanwhile, (y/n) had pushed herself to the back of the boat, and was working on bolting the rocket booster to the end of the boat as quickly as she could.
The island suddenly rose up into the air, and it appeared to be a giant head. It was chanting indiscernible words as it floated towards them.
The giant head was now directly over them, dripping water all over the three of them.
"It's getting closer!" Dipper screamed terrifiedly. "(y/n), hurry up!"
"I'm trying!" (y/n) shouted back, as she pounded on the device.
"Keep rowing!"
The rocket booster had just powered on when the camera started to cut out.
Dipper was now wandering on the beach, searching for the camera.
"I don't know" he said aloud. "I've been looking for...there it is."
He hurried over to the camera, and picked it up off the ground.
"Okay, after that thing attacked us, that giant head thing just sunk back into the lake" he explained. "And it lost another one of its teeth trying to eat our boat!"
He panned the camera to show the remains of their smashed boat, which now had a giant tooth stuck in it.
Dipper then turned the camera so that it was facing himself and his sisters.
(y/n) shot a rather cheerful grin at the camera.
"Whelp, I'm scarred for life!" she said.
"Well, the important thing is that we survived" Dipper said. "Barely."
Mabel sighed sadly.
"Yeah."
She then bent downwards, and picked up Bear-O off the ground, holding him up to the camera.
"Did somebody say, barely?"
Dipper and (y/n) both screamed.
"Mabel, I swear I will burn that thing when we get back!"

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)
