《Indelible Affairs》⚜️Chapter 6⚜️

Its only when you're wide awake that everything starts to clearly make sense. As for Callum, when he woke up the next morning, all he could think about was how did he even end up in a hotel suite, on a bed with a stranger sleeping soundly next to him?
Atleast that's what I think he must've thought as soon as he set his eyes on my unconscious form.
"Wake up."
"He's gonna be up here soon."
"What the hell is wrong with this girl.?"
"Wake the fuck up."
Turns out, Callum was actually aware of a few things, including, I got him out of a sticky situation and that's how he ended up with me.
I felt heavy hands on my shoulders pressing me on the damn mattress in heist as I heard a faint but husky voice on the background. Please just let me sleep.
I hummed softly in my sleep and tried opening my eyes but they felt so heavy. I worked so hard last night and just wanted to lay in bed the whole day.
"Please just wake up." I heard the voice clear in my ears as I tried to wake myself up. Callum kept on trying to get my eyes to open.
"I'll end you if we get exposed, or so God help me."
Someone is eager to start the day by throwing threats. Calm the heck down you heathen.
"Relax smart ass, I'm up already." I opened my eyes and was instantly face to face with callum's nose and his cold angry eyes digging holes at me.
"I see that you're upset early in the freaking morning." I glared at him. "Didn't anyone ever teach you manners?" I questioned . "You're waking me up like I'm a dude. Incase you haven't realised, I'm a girl, fact. My shoulders are starting to hurt now." I frowned.
Callum looked even more mad as he spoke again. "Early in the morning?" He pointed at the window. "Does that look like early in the morning to you? Do you have any idea what time it is?" He continued with a heavy voice.
"Are you trying to get us in deep shit with Adrian? Incase you've forgotten, you were paid a wholesome of cash for nothing cause we obviously did not have sex. So if you don't want to get in trouble, you'll wake up. I have no time nor patience for your laziness." He ranted on my face. I could still feel his hands on my shoulders weighing me down. "And I sure as hell don't want Adrian finding out that you didn't do your job. The sooner he thinks that we had the wildest sex, the sooner he can quit setting me up with every other girl he sees in the streets."
"Who the heck is Adrian?" I was confused.
His lips twiched as he did not look pleased.
"My brother.....the guy who paid you." He narrowed his eyes at me. "How can you not know the name of the person who got you the deal?"
Oh! That guy. I guess I was too occupied with trying to get Callum out of that situation to even store that piece of info in my head for later.
"I would really love to get up sometime now if you could just release me." I tried to change the subject. Callum quickly removed his hands off my shoulders and fell beside me on the bed.
"How is it that you don't seem to have a hangover and at lose of memory?" I asked. "Weren't you dead drank last night? And also, what's with the attitude? I did you a favour, remember that part?"
"I ordered some hangover soup." He rubbed his eyes and sighed heavily. He sure looked worse than trash. "And I'm the one who did you a favour. I'm sure Adrian gave you plenty of money, since you're technically working in that place with minimal wage."
Ignore that.
Ignore that.
Ignore that.
He's just an entitled son of a bitch who has no idea how hard it is to afford a decent meal these days.
I stared at the ceiling and for a moment there I had forgotten that I was in a hotel and could order whatever I wanted. Why didn't I do that last night? My stomach feels so empty I could die. The last thing I ate was half a packet of Cheetos from the library.
"I never had that much to drink in my life. My head was banging so hard when I woke up that I though my brain might explode." He complained. "I got up thinking of that soup."
"And you didn't think to order some delicious soup for your partner in crime." I turned my body to face him. "What a selfish cunt you are."
"Watch what comes out that mouth of yours when talking to me. And for starters, you weren't even drank last night." He didn't even look at me as he talked. "You don't have a hangover."
"But that hasn't stopped me having this killer headache from how harshly you were pushing me and screaming in my ears." I poked at the side of his face with my fingers. "So inconsiderate Callum."
"Don't put those hands on my face again." He warned me. "And if you didn't sleep like a log then may be I would have been less inconsiderate." He turned his whole body to face me as well. Its about time, he finally regards me as a human being who deserves a decent face to face interaction.
He's extremely rude, I'd give him that. But somehow, I find Callum slightly tolerable despite that.
Now that I was face forward with Callum again and just inches away from his face, I could sée his features clearly. He had these bright big sky blue eyes that could attract anyone's attention. The nerd had the looks.
"Can I tell you a funny story?" Callum asked while sitting up and laying his back on the head board. And now there's a drastic turn of morning air, we're suddenly comfortable with each other and are even in story telling terms.
I mean____wow.
"Amuse me." I lay on my stomach to face him and placed my chin in my palms.
"Don't laugh though." He warned.
I'd probably do the exact thing he asked me not to do. Its the tendency of human beings, always going against the rules.
"I thought you said this is a funny story." I furrowed my eyebrows in confusing. "Why can't I laugh?"
"Just listen." He stated firmly. I waved my hand for him to go ahead. This guy is so weird.
"This is actually the first time I wake up with a woman next to me." He confessed seeming kinda embraced.
Why aren't I surprised?
"And you call yourself a man." The words left my mouth before I could take them back.
"That didn't come out right." I raised a hand when I saw hurt in his eyes. He glared at me and I knew he wasn't going to be kind with his next words.
"Thank God I didn't sleep with you." He stated firmly with malice in his tone.

Excuse me? What did you just say?
"That should be my line." I sat up and pointed a finger at him. I might not be all that, but I'm way better than him when comparing who is a better catch. The guy wears turtlenecks and can't even act right infront of a woman.
Callum pushed my hand away from his face.
"I'm just glad I didn't waste my first time on a red haired girl from a strip club."
Seriously? You wanna go down that road? After I literally saved your so called "first time"
"First of all, I'm not a stripper rather a waitress. And I'm also glad I didn't have sex with a spoiled privileged brat who can't defend himself against his jerk brother like a man." I came back at him.
"Keep running that mouth and let's see where it gets you." He spat. "You have no clue as to what actually happened before you showed up at our table. So I suggest to keep that mouth shut."
"Well it's not my fucking fault that you can't handle my mouth."
"What the heck is wrong with you?" He stared at me.
UGHHHHH!!!!
"Why does everyone keep asking me that?" I groaned, grabbing the pillow and screaming on it. I'm so sick of this and myself.
"Hey! Are you okay?" I felt Callum's hand on my shoulder.
"Don't touch me." I snapped at him as I threw the pillow across the room.
He looked hurt by my words but he hurt me too so I guess we're even. But damn! I felt guilty.
Silence fell between us.
"I'm sorry." We both apologized in unison. He looked at me and we both ended up smiling.
"I shouldn't have said that to you." He sounded sincere. "You didn't deserve that especially after last night.
Before I could get a word in, we suddenly heard a loud pounding by the door.
"Little brother."
Adrian, oh no!
I and Callum looked at each other in horror. This is the part were I regret not waking up in time.
"Take off your clothes." Callum blunted.
"You too."
We both got under the covers and began taking off our clothes and throwing them all around the room. We needed to leave some kind of evidence of a good sex scenario. No one will believe that a girl from a strip club and a drunk guy did it with clothes on.
I covered myself with the sheets and held them tightly in my hands as Callum struggled to cover his exposed body.
"I'm Coming in now. I give you guys three seconds to cover up, dirty morons." Adrian laughed humorously by the door.
"Get closer to me." Callum whispered beside me.
"What?"
Is he crazy? No way!
He placed a firm grip on my waist when he noticed my hesitation and pulled my body closer to his. Really now? Great. I rolled my eyes. He placed me literally above him.
I tried my best not to get affected by the feeling of his cock on my thigh. This position is very uncomfortable.
The door flew open and I buried my face in the crook of Callum's neck. This is so embarrassing. Callum wrapped his arms around my back to shield me from his brother's stare.
Adrian walked in the room freely and stood by the bed.
"What are you doing here Adrian?" Callum asked sounding a bit more upset than when he was waking me up.
"Just coming to see if you finally got the job done?" Adrian chuckled. I swear this guy is disgusting. This is very inappreciate. "For a while there I thought you might chicken out as usual."
So this happened before? Unbelievable! How disrespectful. I get that they are brothers but why does Callum just let Adrian get away with stuff like this.
I could feel Callum pinching the bridge of his noise as he sighed. I could sense how uneasy he was getting. I practically heard the pounding of his heart from how angry he was.
"Adrian you're making the poor girl uncomfortable okay, so just leave." Callum was practically kicking him out.
"Watch yourself Callum..don't talk to me like that. Don't forget I'm the one who got you that hot girl in the first place. You should be thanking me." Adrian spat.
This guy is sick in the head. Callum took in a breath and then another out just to ease his nerves. Don't start a fight, don't start a fight, don't start a fight. I prayed.
"Please leave Adrain." He tried to sound more polite this time.
Adrian remained silent for a while.
"I'll leave you then, but only after I do this..."
I couldn't see what was about to happen but Callum was suddenly screaming at his brother to stop and drawing me even closer to his body as he tighten his hold on my bare waist. I panicked and turned to face Adrian and that was when I saw the camera on his hand as he took a picture.
Heck!
Before Callum could get to him by the door, Adrian had already rushed out of the room leaving the two off us alone.
"What the hell was that?" I screamed at Callum. He was now half way across the room. And he was naked. The sight of him like that made me pull the sheets more closer to myself.
Callum noticed me starting at him awkwardly so he covered his unmentionables quickly with his hands.
"Look away you pervert." He yelled at me. I covered my eyes quickly before going blind.
"I hate him." Callum ranted.
"That makes the two of us."
What on Earth was he planning to do with that picture?.
••••••••
I left the five star hotel after getting some breakfast while Callum was taking a shower. I tried not to worry about the stunt that the asshole brother pulled. After Adrian left, we didn't talk much and just put our clothes back on. We didn't even dare to exchange numbers. There was no way I was ever meeting him again especially after that awkward and embarrassing situation.
Never again.
I took a cub straight to New York University. I decided to check my phone just in case William looked for me. The guy must be worried out of his mind right now.
The moment I switched my phone on, notifications started coming in. My eyes widen in shock.
No no no..
I totally forgot about my plans with James .
How could this happen?
I felt so awful as I listened and read all his voicemails and messages.
"I've been waiting here for nearly an hour. Where are you?"
"Did you forget our plans?"
"Are you okay? Did something happen to you again? Call me when you get this voicemail."
"I'm starting to think you left me stranded."
"I'm leaving now."
Oh my goodness! How on Earth did I forget about James? What the heck am I even suppose to tell him now?
"Oh hey James , I was at a strip club working then decided to ditch you for this other guy called Callum. But we didn't have sex, I just slept next to him instead of you" I thought to myself in sarcasm.
I can forsee how mad he's going to get once he finds out about this. I really need to come up with a very good lie. I can't afford for James to know about any of this.
I can't believe this is happening to me. How many more lies am I going to keep telling James?
I hope he never finds out.
I arrived at NYU campus and went straight to my dormroom. As I was about to open the door Lucy came out of it and almost bumped into me.
"Watch it." She looked lazily at me and I noticed she was drunk. As usual.
"It's a good thing you're back, I was starting to get sick of that friend of yours." She pushed me off her way causing me to stumbled over a bit but I managed to get my balance. I turned to glare at her.
"You look hot though, lend me those shorts sometime."
I swear I forgot I was even wearing these. Did I walk around campus like this? I pray no one recognized me.
" And also, tell William that he deserves that disgusting red eye." She finished.
What did Will say to her this time?
I got inside the room and saw William sitting at the side of my bed. He turned to look at me with a frown plastered on his face.
I gasped when I saw his ugly red eye, it was really bad.
"What did you do to Lucy for her to give you that?" I quickly sat next to him. Remind me never to get on her bad side.
"And most importantly, how could a girl with less than 100 pounds hit that hard?"
He looked away when I tried to hold his face. They must have had a really bad argument.
"It wasn't Lucy who gave me the red eye." He said in anger that seemed to be directed to me.
"It was James."
