You were currently drinking some cocoa Goodwitch allowed you to make in the teacher's kitchen on the way to the detention. You sat at her desk as she had her hands on your chest trying to unlock your aura.

Glynda: I never thought I'd see you in here Mr Hunter. You were always very calm.

You swallowed what you drank from the hot beverage and looked at her.

(Y/n): Me neither. I don't know what came over me.

???: You did what you felt needed doing.

You looked around.

(Y/n): Hmm?

Goodwitch looked up from your chest.

Glynda: What's wrong?

(Y/n): Nothing. Uh...who will I be going up against in your lesson.

Glynda: I've decided that miss Rose will be your sparing partner. However it will depend if I can get your aura finally.

You put your hands on hers and pushed them away.

(Y/n): This is the tenth time the month. I'm sorry but it's just not there.

She looked at you and sighed.

Goodwitch: Alright...well until then I will make it so Miss Rose will be your only opponent in sparring class for the term okay?

You nodded and drank your cocoa.

???: Yeah. 'Sparring'. She'll want payback after what happened to her sis. Let's hope he can harness our power.

You heard a different voice. A third one, it was more serious but sounded a bit cheerful.

You swallowed hard burning your mouth and throat.

(Y/n): Okay what the fu-

Glynda stared at you.

(Y/n): ...Fudge.

You crouched down a little as your eyes darted left and right. Goodwitch went to her desk and started to fill out test sheets.

(Y/n): You're hearing things (Y/n). Calm down.

???: (Y/n)~ This is your conscience~ Go to a bar after school~

Your eyes widened. You were about to speak up but we're held back when another familiar voice spoke up.

???: Speak in your mind. The last thing we want is you sent to a insane asylum.

You looked at Ms Goodwitch to see her still working.

(Y/n): Who are you?

???: That doesn't matter right now. Right now we want to ask how did you find the relic?

You're eyes went wide.

(Y/n): How did y-

???: We were trapped inside that relic. To keep something from coming out and now that you've found it and came in contact with it. You are now the new conduit of the evil power within the relic that we stowed away along with us!

You flinched at the raspy one's serious voice and tone.

(Y/n): I'm sorry I only meant to deliver it to Oz so it was studied.

???: Even still it should've been left alone!

???: Jasper!

You heard the more cheerful voice say as you looked up a bit.

(Y/n): Jasper?

Jasper:... That's my name.

You were surprised about how casual his name was. You thought that these were ancient beings trapped inside your head from that rock but no it just sounds like they're normal people. Well except the cheerful one who sounds like he's no younger than yourself.

(Y/n): It's a nice name. Very unexpected cause you guys made it out like your ancient as hell. What about the other two?

There was silence. You got worried that you might have pissed them off. After all you kinda did ruin the whole plan of sealing an evil spirit away by the sounds of it.

Then...

???: I guess it wouldn't hurt to give you them. After all it seems we're stuck here. My name is Star. The one who asked you to go to a bar after school is Ike.

Ike: I! Can introduce myself thank you very much!... Anyway I'm Ike.

You chuckled.

(Y/n): Well luckily I know a place that we can go to. However, it depends if one of my bullies goes there after school as well.

Ike: Pffft. Bully? Who was it? Was it that blonde that Jasper helped slam into the table?

(Y/n): Yes it was actually. Her name is Yang.

There was silence.

Ike: Meh. I could take her.

You chuckled and finish the cocoa.

Suddenly the bell rings and you look up at Goodwitch she looks up at you.

Glynda: It's time, I'll allow you to prepare yourself so take as much time as you need.

You nod and head to a drink fountain.

Star: This Ruby girl, is she strong?

(Y/n): With her weapon? Yes, hand-to-hand? No.

Star: Alright so we just need to disarm her and then it's gg from there right?

You finish drinking.

(Y/n): We?

Star: Yeah! Jasper would help but-

Jasper: You're limited to use us only once a day.

(Y/n): So I can only use...just you Star till tomorrow?

You speak in your head as students began to pass you.

Ike: Shit! You mean I wasted my chance to come out just from flipping those bastard off?!

Jasper: Yes. Nice job little brother.

You nod and return to Goodwitch's class to see Ruby waiting in the ring. She smirks at you as you sigh.

(Y/n): Honestly guys I'd rather do this fight alone. If anything gets out of hand then Star, jump in.

There was silence.

(Y/n): ...Oka-

Ike: He's nodding in your head just so you know.

You chuckle as Goodwitch approaches and gives you a knife and a pistol.

Glynda: Sorry that there is no spare wea-

(Y/n): It's fine.

You walk up to the ring and stare down at Ruby. She pulls out her weapon turning it into her scythe form.

Jasper, Ike and Star: What the fuck?!

(Y/n): Yeah everything is a weapon.

Goodwitch raised her hand.

Glynda: Begin!

Ruby spins her scythe around behind her. You expect her to charge forward but she instead slams the blade of her scythe down into the ground. Your eyes widen as you roll out of the way from her sniper shot. You keep running and rolling out of the way of her shots until she runs out of ammo. A click is heard from her weapon. You take that to your advantage and charge at her. She however removes her scythe from the ground and swings at you. You duck underneath and cut her leg which only lowers her aura down to 92%

Jasper: That bar, what is it?

(Y/n): Her aura level. If I can get it down to the red zone then we've won.

Jasper then noticed something as you were dodging swings.

Jasper: Where is your aura?

(Y/n): I've never been able to activate it.

Jasper: What? That's dangerous!

(Y/n): I know!

You duck under another one of Rubys swings and push off the ground with your feet and head-butt her in the nose which staggers her. You then shoot her three times which in total lowers her aura to 70%.

Goodwitch: Miss Rose! Please keep in mind that he has no aura.

Ruby narrowed her eyes at you as she swings the other side of her scythe at you.

You feel a crack in your ribs and gasp. You aim and shoot but she uses her semblance to get away from you and dodge your bullets.

Star: What was that?

(Y/n): Her semblance. In this case speed. Everyone has one.

Ike: So what it's like magic?

You got into a defensive stance before answering Ike.

(Y/n): ....Yesn't?

Ruby charged at you again and swings at you harder. You try to block but found your self getting hit no matter how fast your reflexes.

You got hit once more in the ribs making a crack sound. You groaning get on one knee holding your chest. Your breathing started getting slower and more painful.

Jasper: (Y/n). Stop.

(Y/n): W-What?

Ruby was approaching you.

Jasper: You have three broken ribs. If you aren't treated then pneumonia will kick in.

You slowly got up and looked at Ruby.

Ruby: Just stay down loser!

(Y/n): No. I need to do this. I want to become a hunter, if not for me then for my sister!

There was silence again.

That silence was ended as Ruby shot you in the arm making you step back and drop the knife.

Glynda: Miss Rose!

Ruby: I hit him in his shoulder. It'll be fine, he'll faint.

You fell to the ground and struggled to breathe.

(Y/n): I'm sorry (S/n)...I couldn't...keep my...promise....

You began to lose consciousness. The whole world around you went black.

Star: You will keep that promise!

Miss Goodwitch sighed.

Glynda: I'm sorry (Y/n). May the future treat you well. The winner I-

???: No.

Everyone looked to see you slowly get up again.

Glynda: M-Mr Hunter?

Ruby stood there in disbelief that you were getting up.

Yang: Ruby! Finish him!

Ruby looked at her sister before nodding and charging at you. She swung at you but found her swing come to a sudden stop. She looked at you as you had a good grip on her scythe. The bullet wound began to heal and a few painful sounds came from your chest as you groaned. You looked at Ruby with your hazel eyes and shoulder charged her which made her let go of her scythe and roll to the other side of the ring. She got up and watched you toss her weapon aside.

You pop your neck and your knuckles, sighing deeply you looked at her.

(Y/n): Ready for round two?

You said with a cheerful tone. Ruby looked at her weapon and went for it but you appeared in front of her. Her feet skid on the floor trying to stop. You put your hand out as her face meets the palm of your hand. Her head recoils back from the impact as she goes to hit you however you step to the side and grab her wrist and elbow her in the face. You push her away and kick her into the arena wall.

She pants as she looks at you.

Miss Goodwitch looks at you amazed.

Glynda: Did he finally discover his semblance?!

You approached Ruby as she looked around until her eyes landed on her weapon, crescent rose. She looked at you once more before using her semblance to go left. You watch before going after her, matching her speed, which shocks the class.

Yang: He's matching Ruby's speed!

Weiss: Ruby! On your left!

Ruby looked as her eyes widened and you grab her and spin her around before tossing her to the middle of the arena.

Ruby groaned and sat up. She saw her scythe and crawled to it as you walked towards her.

(Y/n): Star your awesome!

Star: Heh, thanks.

Star looked at Ruby's aura to see it at 40%.

Star: She's nearly out for the count. Just need to-

A gust of wind cut him off as time seemed to slow down as the blade of Ruby's scythe came into view. You looked at Ruby as the blade was inching closer. You could see she was blinded by rage with the look in her eyes.

You moved your arm up to block your face. You felt impact however the blade didn't get through as the sound of several pieces of metal hitting the floor was heard through the class.

You open your eyes to see your arm glowing in a white and dark aura. You lower your arms as the aura goes away. You look at Ruby to see her holding the shaft of her weapon however the blade part was missing. You looked around until you saw the blade part on the ground, In pieces. Your eyes widened.

Star: Oops.

(Y/n): Star switch out.

Star: Are you su-

(Y/n): Switch out!

Your eyes went back to their normal colour. Ruby dropped what was left of her weapon as her eyes began to tear up.

(Y/n): Ruby I'm so-

Jasper: On your left!

You step back dodging a punch from Yang as she looked at you with her red eyes.

Yang: You asshole! You'll pay for tha-

Glynda: Miss Xiao Long!

Miss Goodwitch stepped into the middle of Yang and yourself and pointed at Ruby.

Glynda: Your sister is in need of YOU right now. I will deal with Mr Hunter.

Yang growled and calmed down before her eyes went back to their normal lilac colour.

Yang: Choke on the punishment, dick.

Miss Goodwitch told the class to leave except for you.

Yang and the rest of team RWBY carried Ruby out of the classroom as she cried.

You sighed.

(Y/n): I'm sorry Miss Goodwitch. I didn't tend for that to happen.

Glynda: No it's quite alright. I'm actually impressed. Your semblance seems to have kicked in at the right moment.

You looked at her.

(Y/n): Ma'am?

Goodwitch smiles.

Glynda: I'm proud. Ozpin will want to see your skills on the camera feed right away.

She pointed at the camera in the corner. You nod and looked at what was left of Ruby's crescent rose.

Glynda: Don't worry Mr Hunter. It's her own fault for using the blade of her scythe when I said not to.

You sigh and pick up the shaft and what was left of the blade.

(Y/n): Best clean up after my own mess.

You open a pouch on your side and look at her. She nodded and used her semblance to lift up the bits and pieces of Ruby's weapon and made it go into the pouch.

Glynda: What will you do with it?

(Y/n): I don't know.

You answered as you left the classroom.

You arrived at your dorm finally after taking in all the insults and shit talk sent your way. You set everything from Crescent Rose on a table and then lay on your bed.

(Y/n): So you can fix it?

Jasper: Yes. I can.

You sigh in relief and turn on your side.

(Y/n): So, your power Star, what is it?

Star: ...It's hard to explain. Guess you could call it light and darkness manipulation.

Jasper: We'll stick with that. With me I can control elements like fire, earth, water, lightning and metal.

(Y/n): Okay...what about you Ike?

Ike: Fire manipulation. Twice as effective if alcohol is applied.

Jasper: No it isn't.

Ike: Snitch!

You smile and look up at your ceiling. You begin to frown and look around, suddenly you get shocked and jump.

(Y/n): Ow what the?!

Star: Sorry that was me. Just a safety procedure.

(Y/n): For what?!

Jasper: Don't ask.

You sigh and decide to call it in for the night.

You however had questions that you would love to ask these voices in your head tomorrow morning.
