Lena just took ownership of the old Luthor house. She signed the papers and everything. She thought it only felt right if she went back.

A couple of days later, she was in front of her old house that withheld so many memories of when she was younger. Most of them with Kara.

She hesitates for a moment before opening the door. For all she knew, her mother could've booby-trapped the house while she was gone. Or Lex, for that matter.

Occasionally, Kara went to the old Luthor house to get closure, but today was not one of the days where she went to the old Luthor house to get that closure.

Lena's heels clicked against the cold, tile floors. Memories came flooding back to her.

Her and Kara laughing and being affectionate while making dinner multiple times.

Her and Kara singing and dancing together.

Her singing and Kara hugging her from behind.

Kissing Kara on top of the counter.

She shook her head and moved onto the living room.

She remembered Kara sneaking up on her from behind when she was working on her valedictorian speech.

Kara sleeping over for the first time.

Endless nights of cuddles, potstickers, pizza, and movies.

Kara, her special girl, staying when she broke down after her mother came and visited unexpectedly.

Lena pursed her lips and moved upstairs to her room. Everything was still intact. Everything was still here. Memories kept coming back. Though, it did seem like a couple things were missing...

She went to her closet and found only a few blouses and dresses still hanging up. Weren't there multiple outfits in here that I left behind? She thought to herself. And a couple other small things?

Then she remembered.

Kara still had a key to the house.

She shook her head and softly smiled. She did love my clothes, as well as we were both the same size. It was a win-win for both of us.

Lena didn't want to spend any more time in here, just in case Kara came back. Instead, she probably was about to do one of the stupidest things ever. She walked out of the room and out of the house, up the street.

Kara walks into the auditorium on the stage where the piano was. She just had to get it out of her. She sighed. So many thoughts...

Lena walked into the school, which received multiple glances and whispers.

"Is that Lena Luthor?"

"Heard she's just like her brother. Crazy."

"Didn't she go here?"

"Yeah, valedictorian."

"Skipped ahead three grades from freshman to senior."

"I heard she was a suck up to the teachers."

"Insanely smart."

She closed her eyes tight shut. So many feelings she was feeling and bottled up inside...

Lena ignored the comments with an eye roll and texted her friend.

Where are you?

School. Where else would I be?

At home, taking care of Ruby.

Good point. But Eliza's doing that

What's wrong? Is everything okay?

What classroom are you in?

200 hallway. Meet u outside

Lena made her way there down to the 200 hallway and saw Sam waiting outside a classroom door, hands stuffed in her pockets.

"Sam!"

The tall brunette looked up and saw her. "Lena! The hell are you doing here?" she asks as she wraps her in a hug.

Lena pulled away and looked at Sam. "I inherited the old Luthor house, and for some stupid reason, I came here."

Sam nods. "Well, is that stupid reason Kara?"

Lena looks away with her lips in a grimace. "Where is she?" she asked, barely above a whisper.

"Last I saw her, she was in art. She has her free period now, so she might be in the auditorium."

Lena nods. "Thank you."

Sam nods and shoves her shoulder. "Go get the girl, Luthor."

Lena gives her a quick hug. "Love you."

"You too. Call if you need anything!" she hollers after her as Lena walks to the auditorium.

Even though it's been a while, she had to let it out. One way or another. Kara sat down on the bench, remembering the keys for a song. She starts playing before she sings.

Lena heard her. She knew that voice. Even if it was faint, she knew that voice. She kept walking to the auditorium, but slower. For what reason? She didn't know.

The voice was getting louder with every stride she took...

Lena reaches the doors of the auditorium. Sam was right. Kara was in here, singing and playing. She stood at the door, her hands together, watching her as she continued. She knew the lyrics but decided against it to sing out loud.

I know a girl, she's like a curse

We want each other, no one will break first

So many nights, trying to find someone new

They don't mean nothing compared to you

Someone sings the last part with her, but it wasn't Lena. Kara turned around on the bench and saw Jake in the curtains.

"That was beautiful, Kara," he compliments. Lena couldn't see him until he walked out. He was a light-skinned black man with a low cut. Lena had to admit, even if she wasn't into guys, he was decent looking.

Kara looked down and away. "Thanks, Jake," she mumbled. Even Lena could feel it, and she was yards away; she knew that she was uncomfortable with him around.

"Yeah, who was that song about?" another voice calls out, making everyone's head turn and a guy with dirty blonde hair comes out of the other side of the curtains.

On a bad feeling, Lena texted Sam quickly.

Auditorium. NOW.

"Really? Both of you?" Kara asked, her voice loud, letting her arms go up at her sides and let them fall back down.

"Relax, Kara. Just tell this douche the song wasn't about him," Jake says, putting a hand on her shoulder. Kara got up, letting his hand fall back down to his side as she walked away from the piano to the edge of the stage, her face in a hand.

"Or you could tell that to him," Ryder retorts.

"E-nough!" Kara enunciates loudly. She whips back to the two guys.

Sam comes running to Lena's side. "What's wr- Oh, crap," she says once she sees the two guys and Kara onstage.

"I could tell that she was uncomfortable. I could feel it a mile away," Lena explains. "What do we do?"

"Let it play out. If it gets too intense, I'm kicking both of their asses," Sam mutters to her as Kara says,

"It wasn't about either of you. So please, just leave me alone." Kara hugs her sides and looks away, her eyes glossy.

"Oh, please," Jake scoffs.

"You're still hungover that Luthor girl?" the other guy asks, making Lena's fist ball up.

"Ryder, whoever I'm still hungover and whoever I like is none of your damn business unless it involves you," Kara hisses, getting in his face.

"And does it?" Ryder asks with a smirk.

"Buddy, come on. It's obvious who she has feelings for," Jake says, stepping closer to them.

"What? You think it's you?" Ryder asks, turning his attention to Jake.

"Yeah, I do. Kara, come on. Let's go." Jake grabs her wrist tight and pulls her away from him.

Even though she could pull out of his grip, she decided against it, knowing that she could easily hurt him. "Jake," she growled. "Let. Me. Go."

"Why? So that he can get his dirty hands all over you?" he shouted.

"No, because-"

"You're gonna have to deal with me." Sam steps out and goes to the stage.

"Sam, you don't-"

"Kara," she says sternly, making her stop. She walks onto the stage while saying, "Look Jake. When a lady says no, or she defies against something you're doing, you back the hell off. That's called being a gentleman. Though, you wouldn't know what that is."

He scowls at her. "I am just trying to protect-"

"Okay, I've had it!" Kara yells, making every turn to her at her sudden outburst. She takes her arm from Jake and whips around to him. "I have had way too many guys -douches and jerks- say that I need to be 'protected.' But I. I am a little girl. And guys like you need to stop treating me like I am or that I'm fragile." She turns to Ryder, addressing both him and Jake.

"No, that song was not about either of you because I am into you. of you. I don't understand why you both won't leave me the fuck alone. That song was about either of you, it was about Lena. So yes, Ryder, I still like Lena. I was in love with her and I still am. So would the both of you politely, please fuck off and leave me alone? If not, then I can always call my sister. And you know how she handles things."

Sam gives them both a death glare as they both still stood there. "And she means it." Even if they didn't dare let it show, they were afraid.

Jake and Ryder look at each other with glares and they both leave in their separate ways without another word. Once they leave, Kara falls to the ground, Sam catching her before she hits the floor.

"Hey hey hey, I'm here. I'm here. I got you." She brings Kara into her arms as she cries, rocking her back and forth.

"I just want Lena to be back," Kara sobs.

Sam looks up and sees a shattered look on Lena's face far away. She knew that both of them were broken, but she didn't understand why Lena couldn't talk to her. More or less, comfort her.

"I know, Kar. I know. You and me both," she quietly says while looking directly at Lena.

Lena shakes her head at her and silently walks away and out of the building. Tears escape her eyes. She never wanted to see Kara go through that. Or even look broken. All the words she said stuck in her mind.

She loved her.

And was still in love with her.

Well, so was Lena.

Sam and Kara spent the rest of the day in the auditorium, both not caring if they skipped multiple classes and lunch. Sam whispered sweet nothings into her ear as she let Kara let out all the tears she needed to let out, telling her to focus on her heartbeat to calm her down. All of the emotions she was feeling, all the anger, sadness, all of it, she was letting it out.

Thankfully, the auditorium stayed empty the whole day. Kara cried herself to sleep in Sam's arms for a while. Sam took out her phone and immediately called Lena.

"Sam now is really not a good time." Sam could hear it. She could hear that she's been crying, too. She could feel that neither of her best friends were in great shape.

"Why the fuck did you walk away, Luthor?" she hissed quietly, making sure not to wake the sleeping teenager up.

"Sam, I can't. I can't explain, I can't do anything. I really wish I could, but I can't."

"Well, why can't you?"

"Sam, I promise one day I'll explain. Just, not right now, please. Just take care of Kara and Ruby. Promise me you'll take care of Kara for me. At least while you're there."

Sam nods into the phone as her eyes were brimmed with tears. "I promise," she whispers.

"Good. I have to go. My flight's leaving soon."

"Let me know when you land."

"Will do. Love you."

"You, too." Sam hangs up and looks back down at Kara. She strokes her hair and kisses her forehead gently. "You'll be okay, Kar. You'll be okay."
