The group of four stood in the middle of the field after the Fairy Godmother disappeared.
"Why do you think she chose us for this?" Matthew asked.
"She said that we were the only ones that can help. So we should at least try Uncle Matt." Charlie said. "Mom and I will go to palace, where there must be a leaf from the tree, and something of Grandpa's. Aunt Carrie and Uncle Matt you can try to get the unicorns hair. Come on Mom."
Charlie pulled her mother all the way to palace. Charlie was so excited. She had always read about heroes and adventures in her books, but now she's about to be one. She just hoped that her mother and uncle wouldn't ruin this moment for her.
"Do you see how excited Charlie is?" Carrie said and smiled.
"Yeah, I just hope she doesn't get too excited. Because when I see the first sign of a way home, we're all out of here."
"What why?"
"Because, we have children and jobs that need us. What are you planning on doing?"
"I'll text Scott and Henry to pick up the kids. I'll tell them that we took Dad to see his sister." Carrie said and took out her phone. She tried to send her text but it wouldn't go through.
"Any luck?"
"I don't have connection here. I'll try again later before the kids get out of school." Carrie said.
"I'm holding you to that." Matthew said. "So how are we going to get this hair?"
"Sneak up behind him, and try to cut a strand off with my keys?" Carrie suggested.
"Go for it."
Carrie carefully snuck up on a unicorn grazing. She grabbed her keys from her pocket and carefully grabbed the unicorns tail. The unicorn lifted its head up and looked at Carrie.
"Hello nice unicorn. I just need one strand of hair. Do you mind?" The unicorn flicked it's tail, startling Carrie and making her fall into a pile of mud.
"I think he does mind." Matthew said.
Inside the palace Charlie was so excited to show her mother around. Elizabeth was happy to see her daughter this happy. She hadn't seen her smile like that in months. Ever since Elizabeth filed for a divorce, Charlie hadn't been the same. The only joy she had in her life was when she would visit her grandpa Conner.
"Mom, do you think we'll get Grandpa back?" Charlie asked.
"I hope so Charlie. You know when I was a little bit older than you, I had the same relationship that you have with Grandpa. I wanted nothing more than to be just like him."
"So what happened?" Charlie asked.
Elizabeth woke up that day happy and refreshed just like she did every morning. She got out of bed, got changed into her jean skirt, and pink shirt. She curled her hair, put on flower barrette and brushed her teeth and then she went down stairs. Like usual she found her mother in the kitchen making her breakfast.
"Morning Mom." Elizabeth said and sat at the breakfast table.

"Morning Lizzie." Bree said. Bree was in the kitchen, getting breakfast ready for her kids before she had to go to work. She wore a navy blue pan suit with a white shirt and black heels, and she wore her hair down.
"Where's Dad?"
"Dad is in his office writing his book with Carrie." Bree said getting four plates out.
Elizabeth got up from the table and ran over to her Dads office. She loved the watch him write. Whenever she was there he would sometimes have her help him out. Elizabeth loved to write, and wanted to be just like her Dad. Elizabeth ran into her dads office, and saw him playing with her younger sister Carrie.
"And just when Alec and Connie thought they were done with the battle..."
"What happened?" Carrie asked jumping up and down.
"A big ferocious dragon appeared!!!" Conner said and roared. Carrie gasped and laughed. She loved it when her Dad told stories.
"Then what happened?" Carrie asked with a big smile on her face.
"Can't tell you. Mommy and I are going to have to read the book to you when I'm done." Conner said.
"No! Daddy please tell me! I want to know!" Carrie whined.
"I'm sorry sweetie. Your going to have to wait, just like everyone else." Conner said. He loved to play around with his kids.
"Mommy! Daddy's not telling me how his story ends!" Carrie yelled running to her Mom.
Elizabeth laughed. "So how does that story end?"
"Like I told your sister. Your going to have to wait." Conner said, and went back to typing. Elizabeth walked over next to him. "Excuse me are you trying to get a sneak peak?"
"No." Elizabeth said and smiled.
"Listen if I tell you, you'll tell your friends what happens. That's what happened last time I told you." Conner said, and closed out his work.
"Dad I told you they forced me to tell them. They said that they would take away my lunch, and I was not eating the school food that day. They say it's ground beef, but we all know it's horse meat." Elizabeth said. "I promise this time will be different."
"Of course it is. Ground beef looks way different from what they serve in schools." Conner said. "Anyways, my is no. You'll have to wait."
"Grr, but you promised me I could write a tiny bit of this one."
"Um, I told your mother that, not you. Next one, I promise." Conner said. "Come on, let's go eat."
"I want to be just like you someday. Do you have any advice?"
"Have a good imagination, take risks, go on an adventure, and don't let anyone tell you you can't do it." Conner said and smiled at his daughter.
"How am I going to go on an adventure. I'm only 12."
"The adventure will find you." Conner said.
Conner and Elizabeth walked out and went into the kitchen. Conner wrapped his arms around Bree and kissed her cheek.

"Good Morning." Bree said and turned around and kissed him. "How long have you been working this morning?"
"I need to get this book done in two days. I still have to write 2 chapters, and re read the whole thing." Conner said and rubbed his eyes.
"I'll try to get home early today to help you write." Bree said. She put scrambled eggs onto four plates and handed one of them to Conner. She put the other three on the breakfast table.
"Thanks Mom." Elizabeth said.
"Wait where's Matt?" Bree said. "Elizabeth go get your brother."
"MATT! BREAKFAST!" Elizabeth yelled.
"I could have done that." Bree said. Matt came downstairs, his hair was all messed up and he wore a pair of ripped jeans, sneakers and a jacket.
"Mom, do I have to go to school? It's Friday." Matthew complained.
"Nope your going. After breakfast go back upstairs and fix your hair." Bree said.
A few hours later it was time for Elizabeth to go to her English class. She loved her English class, it was her favorite part of the day. Her two best friends soon came over to her and a new person came over to her as well.
"Hey Peyton, hey Dalton. Who's this?"
"This is Eliana she's new." Dalton said.
"Hey, your Dad is the one who makes those Fairytaletopia series right?" Eliana said.
"Yeah he is. Are you a fan?" Elizabeth asked and smiled.
"Oh definitely not. I don't read those childish books."
"They're not childish. They're great." Elizabeth said defending her Dad.
"Well you have to say that your his daughter. Well anyways, Peyton says your a writer. I write as well."
"Elizabeth's the best in our class." Peyton said.
"She is now, just wait till I turn in my first story." Eliana said.
"It's not a competition." Elizabeth said.
"It always is with me."
"Hey Elizabeth we'll be right back, we have to go get our books." Dalton said. Her two friends left and left her with Eliana.
"Listen, I've been the best wherever I go. I've won many school awards for my writing, I bet you haven't even won one. So don't even try to beat me. If you try too, you don't want to know what I'll do. Besides, you probably write the same trash like your father." Eliana said and the bell soon rang. "Don't even try, you'll never be as good as me, or any author. Well...have a good day."
Back at home, Bree and Conner were in his office finishing up the book.
"Brandy Arron." Bree said. "That's what your calling me in the book."
"Yes...what you don't like it." Conner said.
"I guess it's fine. You've already written that name throughout the book."
"I can change it if you want." Conner said.
"No, no it's fine." Bree said. "I mean if you asked me, I would have said Bethany, maybe Brittany, or Brooke."
"Fine I'll change it."
"Conner! I'm joking." Bree said and laughed. "The book is really good...it's like going back in time."
"I loved writing this one...because this was our first big adventure together."
Bree smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck. Conner smiled and just as they were about to kiss they heard the door open and close.
"Someone's home early." Conner said. They both stood up and walked out of the office. They saw Elizabeth in tears. Bree and Conner ran over to her and kneeled down.
"Elizabeth what happened?" Conner asked.
"A girl at school told me to quit writing, and she said if I didn't she would hurt me."
"Hey, Lizzie don't listen to that girl. She's just jealous of how talented you are." Conner said.
"Hey, don't give up. Your so talented! Listen, we'll go down to the school tomorrow and talk to the principal." Bree said.
"No please don't. It's too late, I'm done." Elizabeth cried harder and ran upstairs into her room.
Charlie and Elizabeth walked into a room, and looked around. The room had a queen sized bed with a silky white and gold comforter, and two night stands on each side of the bed. Elizabeth looked throughout the room and found an item on the floor underneath the bed. It was a small gold watch.
"What's that?" Charlie asked.
"It's a watch, and it's engraved it says "To my love, Happy Anniversary. Love Conner 2025." Elizabeth said. "This was Grandmas. 2025, I think that's the year they were in college. She must have lost it that year, because I don't remember her wearing this."
"Mom that's perfect. We'll go back to when they were in college." Charlie said. "I found the leaf. It was in a jar on the book shelf. I wonder how Uncle Matt, and Aunt Carrie are doing with the hair."
"Elizabeth! Charlie!" Carrie yelled from downstairs. Elizabeth put on the watch and Charlie walked downstairs and found Matt and Carrie with mud all over them, grass stains on their pants, and their hair was messed up.
"What happened to you two?" Elizabeth asked holding in her laugh.
"We were attacked by a unicorn. Those things are vicious." Carrie said.
"But in all the chaos...we got it!" Matt said and proudly held up a hand full of unicorn hair.
"Great we can now travel back to 2025. I found a watch that Dad gave Mom when they were in college." Elizabeth said and showed them the watch.
"Wow, that's beautiful." Matthew said.
"Ok so what do we do now?" Carrie asked.
"I think we put them all together and wait for something to happen." Charlie said. Matt put down the handful of hair, Charlie put the leaf beside it and Elizabeth took off the watch and set it next to them. There was then a spark of magic that appeared, the ingredients spun around like a tornado, then BOOM! A portal appeared.
"That's our way back to 2025." Carrie said.
"I can't believe this is happening." Matthew said. "I'm so on board now, this is just too cool. Let's do this."

Thriving, active, hopeful. Vibrant. But life, as I had come to learn, sometimes possesses only the most tenuous of grasps. Finally, in the end, it became my city - mine alone. I was, after all, the only one left. Worse, it was entirely my fault. There was red in my ledger that could never be wiped clean. Not while I still lived, anyway. This story follows Eran, a man who became the opposite of everything he had ever wanted to be; in a world where superpowers began to appear in a rare few, his lack of control over his own power relegated him to the role of a terrible villain - the Reaper, named so for the countless lives that he absorbed and made his own, each only furthering his deadly lack of control. Gone mad with guilt and isolation, he strove for a single heroic act - his own demise. Death was less permanent than he hoped. Centuries later, he woke to a changed world and in a body not his own. Unfortunately, his power came with him. Yet this time, things would be different. This time, he had a chance to bring it under control.
