---(Y/n)'s Pov---
It's been two days since I turned Sans into my personal elevator. I couldn't tell if that was a good thing or a bad thing- on a good note, he was lowering me into the depths of the fiery core with the use of his blue magic... but I wasn't too fond of how he held my Soul. It lacked any kind of ease, as if he were in a state of panic. His magical grip was firm and unforgiving, showing just how scared he was to drop me in.
And then, he'd have the audacity to claim that he was done moving me around and instead wanted a break. Blamed it on his magical energy depleting... which seemed impossible since I got to witness his endurance first hand in his bedroom. Since I wasn't a fool, I knew that this was his way of saying that his anxiety has hit its peak. He couldn't lower me into the Core for a few hours, because he was getting too nervous.
After one or two hours, I found myself able to coax him into doing it again. Of course I had to remind him that the sooner this was over, the better. That we could finally relax and take a nap or something.
I also had to remind myself that one wrong move around the Core could mean my very existence. To make this work, I had to have full faith in Sans. Sure I could of done this alone, but it would of taken a whole week. With Sans here, I was finally managing to finish up... this would also be much quicker if he wasn't trying to take so many breaks.
But now... I managed to hit a wall. Because once again, Sans was trying to stand in my way. "Nope."
"Sans, we're almost finished. Why must you be so insistant about this?" I said while crossing my arms. The skeleton stared at me with his half lidded stare, not letting up in the slightest.
"Because you haven't eaten anything. If it weren't for this damn hole in my skull, I would of been keepin' count of your meals." He snapped. Letting out a deep sigh, I relaxed further into the chair that he sat me on moments ago. Watching from a distance as he went through his pockets, he soon let out an annoyed growl before vanishing entirely.
Leaving me alone was possible for his instincts, because I was able to walk. Unfortunately, I was limited to how long I could do so... and I was limping a bit which resulted in him giving me a lecture.
Of course I am also hungry, but that cannot compare to how anxious I am to finish this work. Having someone who cares about you is so... exhausting. "You know, it is rude to stare. Say what you need to say, Alphys. Before he returns."
The small yellow lizard shuffled from her hiding place, approaching me carefully. Despite being blind, she looked around in fear, hoping that Sans wouldn't come back. "H-how... did you g-get him to be s-s-so calm?"
"Well, one day he decided that we were mates. Ever since, he hasn't stopped following me... and now I've decided to give myself to him." After explaining this to her, she seemed very confused... and even more scared if that was possible.

"D-don't you think that m-maybe...? Um... You should b-be worried? I-I mean... Sans isn't exactly stable."
"I am aware. However, he has proven himself trustworthy to me. I've chosen to accept his feelings since I wouldn't be able to flee from them. And honestly? It is for the best." I explained blankly. Alphys' face went slightly pale, she didn't know how to respond to my nonchalant attitude.
"Do you... l-like him?" she squeaked out. Pressing a knuckle to the side of my cheek, I gave her a lazy look. However, while looking to give her an honest answer... I found myself smiling. Sure my eyes were still as cold as the ice, but my small smile was still there.
"Yes."
"Y-you know... I've been thinking..." She mumbled out while rubbing her hands nervously.
"Well, I certainly hope so." I mused out with a small chuckle. She followed in a quiet giggle, seeming very awkward to display any kind of excitement. Something about her attitude felt... off.
"W-What if... you could just f-f-free the Monsters from here? You know... give up y-your Soul so one of us can cross over and c-collect more? I-I mean... we d-don't know if w-what you're doing will w-w-work and... well... I'm sure that it would make S-Sans very h-happy..."
"I am very sure of my abilities to do this, Alphys. Not to mention... I do not think that Monsters, in their current state, will fair well on the surface." With that abruptly said, I got up to leave without further interest for this talk. The former Royal Scientist's non existent stare followed me outside of the room. I didn't pity her in the slightest... she wasn't as enthusiastic about my love life since she lost to her own. But at the same time, I actually brought myself to feel annoyed with her...
Because of what she did to Sans many years ago. Not that I should feel bothered... but I am.
Walking for several minutes brought me into the True Lab since I needed more tools. Some Amalgamates were staring at me, knowing that my project was almost complete. I spoke with them frequently, since sometimes they were an excellent source of guidance. You just had to pick out their words properly. "(Y/N)..... THE CORREEE..."
Huh... It's Memoryhead. Probably the most uniquely knowledgeable one here. "Hello, Memoryhead. I trust that you are well?"
"SWeeT GiRL..." One of the voices slurred out. It stalked towards me, a contorted smile forming on its face. "Shadows are cutting so deep."
"DEEPER INTO THE DARK. DARKER INTO THE ABYSS THAT IS THIS WORLD." What are they... talking about? "A WoRlD WhERE ruLEs... ARe MeanT to BE bRoKeN."
Is it... talking about the Resets that Frisk did? Maybe the amalgamate is warning me about another threat? This conversation... is chilling. "Echoes that are this reality."
"FLOWERS THAT REPRESENT OUR HOPE." One of the voices screamed out while leaning in very close to me. I didn't move away, this amalgamate was trying to convey something to me... but... I couldn't make everything out. "ThE COrE to BE ouR FutURE."

"Or Maybe our past." "OR MAYBE OUR PAST." Or MAYbe OuR pASt." They all said at once. I could make out a gurgling sound from the creature as it shuffled past me, soon vanishing down the hall in a now relaxed state. For a moment there, the amalgamate seemed really heated up. It spoke with intent in its tone, desperately trying to tell me something that I just couldn't grasp...
Dismissing that strange conversation, I continued to move down the halls of the Lab, looking for some of my more delicate tools. From the sound of heavy steps through the halls, I could tell that Sans was back... and looking for me intently. If it wasn't for his mark, he probably wouldn't be able to pinpoint me so easily. Anyway, now I just need to wait to be scolded by him for working too hard.
Sighing as I entered in the room where all of my supplies were, I froze immediately. My Soul was screaming at me, it felt frantic... as if...
Reaching into the depths of my bag, I pulled out a very familiar solid object. Without any kind of hesitation, I threw it into the camera. Knowing that they were strictly formatted to contain sound as well, I knew that breaking them would disable everything.
Once I heard the heavy steps getting closer, my eyes started to trail up towards a vent inside of the room. With my foot really sore, I knew that I'd have to act fast. This didn't seem like a pleasant situation that I would want to deal with. With help from a chair, I managed to use my more delicate tools to pop it open fairly quickly, and then I went to drag my body up.
Snarling could be heard from the halls, instantly telling me that the amalgamates were warning a potential intruder.... because to be perfectly honest? I've never seen them threaten Sans without my influence.
Since I watched for a little longer, I was able to catch a tall fish like woman entering the room. A crown sat upon her head, showing her royalty... it's Undyne. "I-is she t-there?"
The staticky voice that belonged to Alphys spoke from some kind of portable device that Undyne was holding onto. I couldn't help but glare through my hiding place, somewhat annoyed by the betrayal that I felt. That lizard will never change.. "Don't see her."
She said lowly while scanning around with a single eye. Not bothering to stick around, I started to turn away from the scene to make my exit towards the elevator. Thanks to my perception, I was able to get away with minimal issues... for now. However, I knew that I stressed out my wounds from moving myself in such a quick motion. "She t-took out the c-camera in that room... maybe she k-knew?"
"Well obviously. M' mate ain't some fucking idiot."
That voice... it was Sans?! Why was he speaking on that device... and why did he sound so....
Hostile.
For the first time, his tone of voice caused me to shiver. Sans sounded threatening when his voice sounded so deeply annoyed. "Al? ALPHYS, WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!"
"S-SANS? No! PLEASE! S-stay... STAY AWAY!" By now, she was sobbing through the microphone. Unsettling noises of something cutting through solid bone passed through me, followed by the dripping of blood.
"AL? ALPHYS! TALK TO ME!" Undyne screamed. There was a shift in movement on the device, but we both heard the words loud and clear. Sans was pissed off, and he wasn't going to let this slide.
"Heya, Queenie." He breathed, his voice had a sinister edge that was practically challenging anyone's authority.
"Sans... I swear if you fucking hurt Alphys! I will-"
"You'll what?" He said with a cackle. His laughter continued for some time, not letting up until the last second when everything fell into an eerie silence. "(Y/n). I'll be done in a sec. Lemme just clean up this mess. 'Kay?"
And with that said, the microphone went quiet. Undyne quickly let out a pained roar before she started to summon her spear. From the way that she was walking, I could tell that she was being delusional... especially after she started to talk with her own shadow. This place... can it actually be saved?
Groaning at the thought, I started to make my way towards the elevator. It didn't take long for me to reach it... and with my tools In hand, I was able to get out of the tight spot fairly easily, Once my feet managed to hit the floor, a gruff noise was heard from someone who stood right in front of me. Almost instantly, my body was dragged into solid bone.
Out of instinct, my hands moved forward to clutch onto Sans' ribcage which instantly earned me a content moan. Sans was happy with how I reacted to his hold...
Looking up to get a good look at him, I noticed how his hoodie, the only clean one, was drenched in blood. Some splatters littered his face, giving him a crazed look to match his insanity. With so much of it, the crimson liquid showed to be clinging to him as if it were sticky in some areas, and dripping off of him in others. Just as I expected, he acted as if it wasn't even there... "Heh... Ya hurt?"
"No." I said while shaking my head.
Loud growls sounded from the halls, alerting us that Undyne was trying to fight with the amalgamates that were basically un-killable. After hearing his chuckle, I looked up calmly to meet his psychotic glare that was fixated on the location of her screams. "I was gonna kill her... but, why bother if somethin' else will do it for me?""
So lazy. Pushing myself further into him, he seemed to snap out of his daze. His devious grin faltered into an unreadable expression as I muttered out something with so much sincerity that it made him freeze.
"Thank you... for helping me." He was the first that ever physically assisted me... and I was happy to have him on my side.
"Anytime, cupcake."
