《Blaze, My Mate》Chapter 7

It had been two years since my babies were born and my son was getting big. I knew he had alpha blood but I felt like he was growing up too quickly. I was still nursing him, it was the best way for him to get nutrients his body needed. His diet consisted of raw meat and wild berries. He loved milk and I didn't mind.
Azure did shift to his human form when he was six months old. He was the exact replica of Blaze. The thing about Azure was he could shift back into his wolf. I realised that I could tell him which form I wanted him to be. If I had berries and I wanted him to eat, I would tell him to shift to his human so he could eat. If I would go hunting, I would tell him to stay wolf so he could hide properly.
We stayed in wolf form a lot, I preferred it since I felt safer. We did go human when it was time to take a bath at the river and went to pick some berries other than that, we were always in wolf form. It was getting hard to keep Azure safe, he was curious and wanted to explore.
I loved that he listened and stayed in the cave when I would go hunting, he sometimes came with me. The rogues were increasing around where I lived and it worried me. The rogues would kill Azure if they found him alone.
It made me sad that my son wasn't growing up like other kids, he didn't have the basics. The things that were taken for granted, like clothing, cooked food, warm water to bath in and junk food. His favourite thing to eat was the berries. He didn't have clothes. I felt like a failure as a mother since I couldn't provide my child with basic things. I wondered if things were different and his father wanted us, what kind of life would my Azure have?

He would have his own beautiful room fit for a prince. His closet would be full of clothes and shoes. He would have his own bathroom and take warm baths every night. He would have every toy available. I wondered what his favourite food would be, his favorite book. Why did my son have to suffer like this? He was an innocent baby suffering because his father didn't love his mother.
It was unfair that my son had to live like this because Blaze chose to love another. Blaze chose to destroy me so he could live happily with the one he loved. How could I forgive that, my mate got me pregnant and rejected me. He gave all the love that was meant for me to someone else. He did give me Azure so I would be forever grateful for that.
When Azure turned one I did keep my promise and we visited Indigo and spent some time with her. It was difficult getting into the Firestone territory, they changed a lot of things. The boarder patrol was tighter, maybe it was because of the all the rogues that seemed to have made their home around. The rogues made life hard for me too.
It had been about two months since Azure's second birthday and I had to visit Indigo. Moving around was not easy anymore because I was afraid of being spotted by the rogues. They had set camp at the other side of the river but they were always looking for food. I woke up early and made my way to visit my baby girl, Azure enjoyed leaving the cave so he was happy.
It took us half day of running to get to the pack land. If I could just make it past the patrols but luck was not on my side. Azure spotted a rabbit and took off running after it, I had no choice but to follow him. The rabbit ran into Firestone territory and Azure was right behind it. Damn that boy was fast, too fast for me.

When I finally caught up to him he was surrounded by 4 warriors who seemed confused. My son was shaking with fear, this was the first time he met other wolves. When he saw me he ran to me and hid behind me shaking. The warriors were growling and scaring my son, so I went behind a tree to shift. I put on my t-shirt, the only piece of clothing I had. Azure stayed in wolf form, he couldn't stop shaking from fear. I was afraid for my life so I decided to beg for mercy, perhaps they would let me go.
"Please, I mean no harm, my son was chasing a rabbit and came here by mistake."
One of them shifted back, he was a young and I didn't know him.
"Like we will believe anything that comes out of a rogue's mouth. Let's go the Alpha will deal with you," he said pushing me the direction of the pack house.
I knew that they were going to kill me this time. I made my way with Azure in my arms, we passed by the lake and I knew the pack house was not far. We made it to the clearing and I could see the pack house but they took me to the cells. They were in an underground building. It was filthy in there and it smelt horrible. They put me in a room with a chair in the middle. There was blood on the walls it was scary in there.
"We caught another rogue, a female with a pup," I heard a warrior tell the guard.
"If those fools think she will be spared because she is with a pup, then they don't know our Alpha," the guard said chuckling.
And then it happened, the scent I had been dreaming of hit me. It smelt delicious and I knew this was Blaze. He opened the door and just stood there. I kept my head down, I didn't want to see the hate in his eyes.
"Sophia," he said breathlessly. His voice was deep and sexy. My name sounded exotic when he said it. I looked at him and couldn't stop.
Sky purred.
I said shocked.
she said in a dreamy voice.
She huffed and cut the link. I needed to remember that the man in front of me was not my mate, he did not love me. If I kept that in mind I would be fine.
"Alpha please, I'm sorry sir. I mean no harm," I said with my head down.
"Please don't, just come to my office so we can talk," he said still shocked.
Well, who was I to say no to the Alpha. I followed him out with Azure asleep in my arms. I knew he was going to want food when he woke up. He had milk in the morning and now was late noon. I needed to leave and go back to my cave, the only way was to beg Blaze to spare my life and my son's.
