A/N: Hey, your friendly neighborhood cactus back to bring you the next dose of depressing gay shit. Sorry I've been so inconsistent with chapters, I've been busy lately failing at life and being stressed out over things I don't know how to fix, but that's alright. I've been obsessed with Conan's new album, I think either 'Fight or Flight' or 'The Cut That Always Bleeds' has to be my favorite, but I chose 'The Story' for this chapter, it made me cry the first time I heard it and oh my god, it's sooo good! But anyways, enjoy this, I hope to have another chapter out within the next few days if I can, and have a great Easter if you celebrate it.

The next day Logan felt different, kind of better, or he thought so. Why wouldn't he be better, he had a boyfriend now, that was what he wanted, wasn't it? He felt liked he was doing something good for once, he was a normal person who had someone to date and even if he didn't know how he felt about him, they were still best friends, just now they'd spend more time making out. This was better than ruining their friendship by rejecting him anyways and he was helping Sy figure out his sexuality.

He hadn't expected Sy to pick him up in the morning with he thought was kind of sweet and he grabbed his backpack when he saw his friend's car outside. It made a part of him feel guilty, he couldn't be what Sy expected, he couldn't give him what he wanted, he wasn't going to be good enough. You're a fucking disappointment, what did you expect?

"Hey." Logan said, his backpack over one shoulder as he looked at Sy with a smile and Sy smiled back softly, nodding towards the car door.

"Hey, come on, I don't want us to be late." He said and Logan nodded, getting in.

When Logan was in and had his seatbelt buckled, Sy looked at him, a small smile on his face as Logan looked back at him and he kissed the boy, Logan quick to kiss him back, pulling Sy closer, his fingers curling around the fabric of his friend's t-shirt. Sy pulled away after a minute or so.

"Eager, aren't you?" Sy asked playfully with a grin. Fucking slut.

"A little." Logans said, running his fingers through his hair. "Sorry."

"It's not a bad thing." Sy said, running a finger over Logan's cheek. "It's kinda hot actually."

"We should get going." Logan said softly and Sy nodded, kissing him once more before turning to start his car again, driving off toward the school. Logan sat quietly, knowing Ivy would be wondering where he was when she realized he wasn't getting on the bus.

He wondered most what Oliver would think of him and Sy, how he would react, it was terrible how much he thought about him when he had a boyfriend, but it was his own fault for trying to get over a crush with another boy, it'd been naive to think being with Sy would magically take his mind completely off Oliver and make the problem vanish, though it was helping a little.

"Oh I forgot, the school play is happening in March, right?"

"Yeah, we've only got a few months to work on it, but we'll be prepared by then." Sy said. "How's set design going?"

"Pretty well. We'll have it all done way before March with all the people working on it, it's really only a few set pieces that needed to be painted and most of them don't even need detail so Mrs. Abernathy's just put me on ones that do." He said and Sy nodded.

"Yeah, you're good at detail, I've seen a few of your paintings in art class and stuff." Sy said and Logan smiled with a little shrug.

"Art's just the only thing that I've done consistently, it's calming I guess, and it helps me get stuff out." Logan said and Sy nodded.

"Yeah, my therapist said I've gotta find good coping mechanisms, I dunno, it kinda sounds like bullshit, I can deal with my problems without joining a support group and taking pottery classes." Sy said.

"I think it's kind of more to keep from bottling things up and having it get overwhelming, everyone uses some kind of coping mechanism even outside of therapy." Logan said.

"Yeah, I guess you're right." Sy said, pulling into the parking lot. Logan grabbed his backpack and Sy glanced to the boy's nails, smiling softly and then looking to him.

"Did you paint your nails?"

"Yeah, last time Oliver came over, he made a joke about painting our nails and then we actually ended up doing it." Logan said with a quiet laugh and Sy chuckled softly.

"I didn't know you hang out with Oliver that much."

"uh, yeah, we do sometimes, we used to sleep over all the time when we were little kids." Logan said with a shrug and Sy nodded.

"Oh, that's cool. It's nice for you guys to be reconnecting."

"Yeah." Logan said, walking in. He didn't want to think about this.

"Alright, I gotta go, but I'll see you at lunch." Sy said and Logan smiled, nodding. Syrus ruffled his hair with a smile before walking off.

"Seeya." He said, waving a little before adjusting his backpack on his shoulder and walking off the other way to English class.

When he got to class he sat down at his seat just in time to hear the teacher announcing that they were all going to spend the class period watching a movie because they wouldn't have any time to start the next unit before the highschool Christmas party tomorrow. Logan glanced to Oliver who was sitting a few seats in front of him, quickly looking back down and grabbing his sketchbook out of his bag when Oliver looked back at him. He couldn't be doing this, he was dating Syrus and there was no reason why he should be staring at Oliver in the middle of class anymore.

Mrs. Quinn turned on Elf and everyone quietly groaned because they'd watched that for the past three years the day before the Christmas party, it was just her favorite. Logan put in his earbuds and took out his sketchpad as she turned the lights off, figuring he'd just draw for a bit if they weren't doing anything. He sketched out a skeleton, trying to come up with ideas for the art contest, he knew he wanted to do something with flowers, he was good at painting flowers and they worked well with watercolor. He wasn't sure where to put the flowers though, he wanted to avoid cliches because skeletons and flowers were usually put together, but maybe if he made it symbolic that wouldn't matter as much.

He saw his phone dimly light up and slid open the message from Oliver.

He smiled a little, glancing to Oliver before responding.

He sent it and Oliver glanced back at him with a smile.

Logan giggled and he looked to Oliver who glanced back at him with a grin.

"Boys, phones away." Mrs. Quinn said and Logan sighed softly, putting his headphones back in and returning to his drawing quietly. He sketched out a black snake, one with long fangs, milky white eyes, and shiny, almost reflective scales. He was still working on what concepts to put in the painting, but this one felt right. He knew what he was trying to convey, he just wasn't sure how to convey it yet. Logan had never been good with words, he could write essays, but poetry had never been his thing because he was bad at explaining things, but with art, he could just draw what he was picturing, he didn't have to explain it, he could just show how it felt.

The bell rang before the movie was finished and he got up, walking to his next class, history. He figured they'd just be playing games or reading or maybe they'd have a study hall, either way, he'd have more time to work on the sketch.

"Hey, loggy, I didn't see you on the bus this morning." Ivy said and Logan shrugged.

"Sy picked me up."

"Oh, cool..where is he by the way?"

"I'm not sure, I haven't seen him since this morning."

"Are we talking about me?" Sy asked with a grin, walking up to them. Logan smiled a little seeing him.

"Hey, I've been meaning to talk to you, can we go over lines later? I won't have any time to over the holiday and we're not doing theatre today or tomorrow, I just need to go over a few scenes." Ivy said and Sy nodded, stuffing his hands in his pockets.

"Yeah, sure, I've got a free period after lunch, I think the music room's empty." He said and she nodded.

"Yeah, sounds good." She said and Sy smiled, moving one arm around Logan's shoulders.

"Alright, let's go get food, I'm starving." Sy said and Logan almost found the irony funny.

Logan picked up an apple, a small salad, and water while Sy bought a ham sandwich, chips, a coke, and a brownie. They walked back to their table and Syrus sat down next to Logan while Ivy sat beside Grace and Tyler. Logan watched as Oliver walked back from the lunch line and sat down with them. He was suddenly aware of how close Sy was to him and he knew Oliver would notice..but why did it matter? He wasn't dating Oliver or anything, they were just friends, and it needed to stay that way.

"Hey, my dads wanted you to come over so you could meet them." Logan said to Sy and he nodded.

"Why?" Grace asked and Ivy took a bite of her fry.

"They're going out." She said and Logan took a bite of his apple.

"Since when?" Grace asked.

"Yesterday." Sy said.

"I know, you wouldn't shut up about it." Tyler said, pushing up his glasses.

Logan looked over at Oliver who looked a bit shocked but just continued eating his pizza, his eyes asking questions that Logan didn't know to answer, so he just looked away, setting his apple down and opening his water bottle.

"Well I mean, it's kind of a big deal." Sy said with a chuckle, wrapping an arm around Logan's shoulders. "I got the cutest guy in school to agree to go out with me." He said, grinning and kissed the top of Logan's head, the smaller boy smiling shyly and blushing, picking at his salad with a fork.

"You guys are adorable." Grace said and Sy smiled wider, taking his arm off Logan's shoulders to eat his sandwich.

"Yeah, I'm sure you guys will make a really cute couple." Oliver said and he sounded happy enough but Logan recognized the slightly aggravated tone. He didn't know how to fix this, he just knew the last thing he wanted to do was upset Oliver. He took a sip of his water, looking back to Syrus.

"Anyways, yeah, I have time tonight if you want me to come over." Sy said and Logan nodded.

"Yeah, they'll be home around five so we could hang out for a bit if you want." He said and Sy nodded, smiling a little.

"Also, who's coming to the New Year's party at our house?" Sy asked.

"I probably can." Logan said.

"Yeah, me too." Ivy said.

"Cool, other than you guys, it'll just be relatives and family friends." Ty said.

"Don't you have cousins?" Grace asked.

"None, dad was an only child and mom's sister can't have kids." Sy said and Grace nodded.

Logan felt too drained to deal with holidays and he didn't want to celebrate, the food scared him, parties stressed him out, and he wasn't in the mood for holiday cheer, he just wanted to sleep. But he had to keep being happy, that was what was expected of him, and if he wasn't meeting expectations, he'd be letting everyone down, he had to be okay, at least to everyone else, he didn't have any other option.
