《YOONMIN ¦ before debut》worried

now playing... beautiful pain, btob
.
"What? What's wrong?" I say, voice shaky as I'm not sure with what they could reply.
"That was..." Namjoon starts but never finishes
I look at the expression displayed on his face. Blank? Concerned? Worried? Uneasy? I can't tell, but I know it's a negative response to my performance for them.
- God, I'm such a disappointment -
Might as well make my leave right now, clearly, I'm not fit for this powerful group. I shouldn't have even auditioned in the first place, there were so many other people there. Out of all the guys present, they chose me... rookie mistake, indeed.
"So... what did you guys think?" I try to sound at least somewhat hopeful at this moment, although I'm certain they already hate me. And they haven't even met me.
Then, unexpectedly, Yoongi stands up slowly, looking at everyone else with a sigh.
He seems to have also noticed their reactions.
"Honestly, it was pretty good. Your voice is nice, you can dance really well." He says, with a slight smile on his face. "I think you'll be a fan favourite."
I smile in relief at his response, suddenly gaining a lot more confidence after.
"Thank you..."
I desperately look around for the other's response but get none. I go back to my nervous state f fiddling with my hands, as my body shakes in fear.
They sit in silence, looking at one another, waiting. I see Yoongi visibly annoyed at their lack of reply, but nonetheless, he stays quiet as well, while looking down at the floor.
- Was I really that bad? Did I do something wrong? -
No. Yoongi said it was good, so it must've been good. The others are just looking for how to express how they feel... right?

A knock is then heard from the door, as well as footsteps entering the practice room. We all turn simultaneously, to find some man in a black t-shirt and sweatpants with a stern look, rapidly changing to a sympathetic smile.
"Guys, how about we get back to practice?" He tells us, as he sets his water bottle down on a chair. "I believe you've all introduced yourselves, so there's no need for more discussions."
We all nod, the others getting up, and I heading further to the back. As I'm walking, I'm stopped by an arm grabbing my own.
"Hi, I'm Son Seung Duk. I'm the choreographer and happy to help if you have trouble executing certain moves." He whispers with a kind smile.
"Uh, thank you." More hand fiddling. "I'll make sure to ask questions when I have some."
"Great." Seung Duk then turns to face the mirror and shouts. "Alright, from the top! Let's show Jimin what we have set down, then we'll be changing a few things to add him in, got it?"
"Got it!" My members all yell out in choir.
Noticing how the others are all getting into positions in the center of the room, I decide to place myself next to the choreographer to avoid disturbing their practicing. I observe their movements and listen carefully to the demo version of, what I assume to be our debut song.
I'm not too sure how I'll fit into this concept, given my personality and looks, but I'll try my best not to disappoint.
More than I've already done, apparently.
When the music comes to an end, and they each hit their ending pose, Seung Duk stands still, going from looking at the boys to me. He seems to be figuring his own choreography and our positions into it carefully, I wouldn't want to disrupt.

But Hoseok, who seems to be excelling in the choreo, has other ideas in mind.
"So what'd you think? What should we change to have Jimin added in?" He starts, no signs of stopping until Jin speaks up again.
"Please don't change much, just for some... new member" The tone in his voice throws me off, I hadn't expected for him to be as cold towards me.
"Hyung, I'm sure everything'll be fine, as long as we listen to the choreographer."
"Thank you Yoongi, I'm just trying to do my job well here." Seung Duk responds, rubbing his temples in slight frustration over stress, I would say.
"How about, you guys take a break 'til 7, and after supper, we'll all be recharged to start working again. Hopefully, I'll have everything set down by then..." He goes on, which receives a loud synchronized 'yes' from all of us. "But if PD-nim asks, I let you guys off. If he's mad, it's my fault, no worries."
We all nod and head towards our bags to grab our stuff and make our leave. Given the fact that it's just 5:50 pm, we have plenty of time to relax and take a breather before being forced into more cramped schedules. But I'm certain this'll be one of very few, so I'll savour every moment of it.
"Hey Jimin." I hear a soft whisper beside my ear, causing me to turn around and find Yoongi. "Do you want to come with me, I know this great cafe down the street."
"For supper? Shouldn't we eat some more..?"
"If we're gonna be dancing and singing after, let's go with something easy to digest." He chuckles at my somewhat silly question. "Don't worry, we'll get more later."
With a smile and nod as an awkward reply, both Yoongi and I head down the road without saying another word to the other members.
Out of respect, clearly.

WARNINGS:-Yes, this contains LitRPG elements after a slow start, promise.-This work is incredibly Slice-of-Life heavy-Also conversation heavy-Also plot heavy (But not in that way, unfortunately)-The pacing in terms of plot is slow -(Edit after a review)- This story is also known as: I honestly don't understand what's the difference between "light" and "dark" stories. I realized that far too late, so this story is... weird. It might be light at times, and dark at times, and in all honesty, definitely has dark undertones. Oh, and prepare to be disappointed or pleased by this story; I understand that this story is polarizing, at least. Cover made by: Fei (@Chippy03966650) / Twitter
