《YOONMIN ¦ before debut》we meet

now playing... hi hello, day6

.

After a crazy, rushed morning of running around my apartment finding all my last few belongings meant to be placed into my bag, I'm finally in my car, on my way to my brand new job (if that's what you'd consider it to be). It's crazy to think about how much my life will change after today.

I could feel my tight, whitening, knuckles gripping harder and harder onto the steering wheel as I approached the rather tall building of entertainment and unknown horror. I don't believe anything will go wrong, but what if I'm missing something? What if they forgot to mention a piece of key information?

What if I mess everything up, and it'll all go wrong?

I need to have faith in myself, and the boys who'll now be a huge part of my new life.

Right, the boys... The boys who I'll be spending the next coming years with. They won't leave my side, and I won't leave theirs. No matter what, I'm stuck with them. Whether I or they like it or not.

I hope to god there won't be a problem.

I feel my breath get cut at the back of my throat as I pull up into the parking lot in front of the Big Hit building. My heart beats faster by the minute. Negative and discouraging thoughts rush into my head as I take out my keys from my car.

- What if I do mess up? What if they really don't want me there? What if I left the parking lot and went back home to curl up into a ball and never come back? -

I wish I could, but I can't be known as the guy who gave up before facing his new self.

I finally have enough courage to get out of my car, nearly falling out as my knees fail to stop shaking. I look up at my forever 'workplace', which seems so much bigger as I take more and more steps closer to it.

With another deep breath, I walk into the entrance with my head held high, but slowly dropping back down as I realise what I've just done. I have no idea where I'm supposed to go, nor who to talk to. Looking like a lost puppy, I turn left and right to try and find someone who could hand me directions.

A young woman behind the front desk seems to have noticed me standing, so she signals for my attention, which I respond to by walking near her.

"Hi, excuse me, but I would like to know where I can find Bangtan Sonyeondan's practice room?" I nervously ask, still confused by everything.

"Ah, you must be the new member?" She asks with a sweet smile, which eases my nerves. "Jimin, am I correct?"

"Yes, indeed."

"Hm, well Jimin, you simply need to go upstairs to the third floor. Down the hall, you'll see a sign that leads to the dance practice room. If you need more directions, simply find someone to call me, Ha Miya" She kindly replies, pointing to the elevator to the right of her desk.

I send my gratitude through various forms of 'thank you's and slowly walk towards the elevator, dragging my feet on the way.

Once to the floor Miya had told me to go to, I look in both directions before seeing a sign with 'BTS' practice room' onto it. I walk closer and closer, reluctant to the idea of meeting my group mates. As I notice the door being slightly open, my pace slows down so I can learn more about them through overhearing their conversation before I go inside.

"...not good?" I hear the end of someone's sentence, making me curious, meaning I don't move from my spot next to the open entrance.

"I wouldn't think they would let him in if he was talentless" A second voice annoyingly speaks up.

"You never know, I mean they could've let him in 'cause he has a pretty face"

"Like Jin Hyung"

"Hey! Why are you bringing me into the conversation" The playful anger in his voice takes me by surprise, but I can't help but smile at their non-harsh tone.

"I was just kidding, don't worry you're great at singing. You just definitely didn't get in 'cause of your dancing"

"Hey!"

Without noticing, I accidentally take a step forward, wanting to see more of what's going on. But by doing so, I see one of them turning around in curiosity, then furrow his brows.

"Guys, he's here."

By now, everyone has turned around. It takes a few seconds for them to get back to their senses and greet me at the door.

"Oh, you must be Jimin, right?"

I shyly nod, losing the slight confidence I had with the secretary downstairs.

"Well, it's nice to meet you, I guess. I'm Namjoon, I'm the leader" The tall, 'shaved' black-haired male says with an awkward smile displayed onto his face.

"Yeah, I've heard about you"

He nods, moving, to let a slightly shorter male with a handsome face pass by and introduce himself.

"I'm Jin" I recognize the voice as the one who had yelled about being brought into the conversation 'cause of his 'lack of talent, but nice face'.

I send him a smile and turn to the other's who say hi all in their own ways.

"Hi Jimin, I'm Taehyung. Tae, if you want."

"Jungkook, youngest one here."

The four who have just told me their names, all turn to the guy who had been the first to look at me before I walked in.

"Hi, I'm Yoongi" Is all he gets to say before another interrupts.

"Hello, I'm Hoseok"

I've waved and whispered 'hi's and 'hello's to each of them after each introduction, and am ready to say some more, but Namjoon, as he had said, beats me to it.

"Now that we know each other, we should be getting back to practice, since PD-nim just told us that debut is just around the corner." As a leader, his voice and harshness fit well.

Like everyone else, I nod and turn to face the mirror while nervously fiddling with my fingers as I don't know what I'm doing exactly.

"Shouldn't Jimin show us what he's bringing to Bangtan?" A voice I recognize as Taehyung's says, adding. "Just so we can see what we'd need to change and add to the choreo and stuff."

I see Namjoon look over to Tae and nod at his statement, he then turns back to me and gestures everyone else to sit down.

"Um, sure, I guess. What should I do?"

"I don't know, sing, dance?" Jin says from the ground.

"Uhhh... okay..."

I place myself in front of the 'crowd' sitting, leaning against the mirror, and take a deep breath for the nth time today. I close my eyes and think quickly about what I could perform for them.

I settle on Infinite's 'The Chaser' for its choreography, and the fact that I've memorized all the lyrics.

As I finish singing, I look over to the boys on the ground, but immediately regret it. They're all sitting there, mouth agape and widened eyes. I follow their expression and catch my breath.

- Oh no -

"What? What's wrong?"

now pausing... thank you, golden child
