《Freaks & Geek》Chapter 3: Everything I Wanted

The men stood and watched as the Uber took their mate away. "Fuck." Val breathed out before turning to look at his best friends. Wes held a wide smile. "I told you it would be a great night. I also told you that she was real." Damien shook his head with his usual blank expression. "Just go ahead and say I told you so already." Wes was practically shaking with excitement. "I can't believe we found her." Val nodded with a chuckle. "I bet you Luci's will be your favorite place moving forward."

Wes chuckled slightly as a group of women made their way towards them. "If it isn't the Triple Threat." The brunette said with a sexy smirk on her face. She walked directly up to Val and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Let's go upstairs so I can show you what these hips can do." Val stared at her with a bored expression before removing her arms.

"I'm good." He noticed that Damien and Wes were already getting in the car that was pulled up by valet. "What's wrong with you Val?" The brunette questioned loudly. "We're off the market, love. The boys and I have a girlfriend now." He closed the door and sat back as Damien took off. "Wait...girlfriend...as in singular?" The brunette questioned watching them speed off.

"I told you your whorish ways were going to catch up with you," Wes warned from the front seat. "Shut up," Val retorted looking out the window. They sat in silence for a bit before Damien broke it. "She's gorgeous," he said on a sigh. "She really fucking is, but doesn't seem to believe that. I could've killed that waitress." Val growled. "Did you tell Ian to fire her?" He asked Damien who nodded. "He hates when I get in his head, but this was important." Wes sighed happily. "She sounded amazing up there," Wes spoke up. Val and Damien nodded. "It reminded me almost of a siren." Damien offered causing them to agree.

They made their way into their mansion and sat in one of the living rooms. "I want to text her so bad." Val said as his knee bounced. "So, text her." Wes said looking at him as if he were stupid. "I can't. It'll make me seem desperate." Damien let out an uncharacteristic chuckle. "You are desperate. She's our fucking mate." Wes shook his head at his best friend. "Val, do not try and play those silly mind games you play with your trollops." Val rolled his eyes. "She's human though. Human women have rules and I don't want to come off as desperate."

Wes grabbed his phone and took down her number before texting it. "There. Done. Unlike you, I want to make sure my mate made it home safely." Val pouted as Wes and Damien sat down thinking on the dark-skinned vixen that they knew would occupy their minds for eternity. "She's a mother." Damien finally spoke up. Their moods shifted. "I want to kill whoever had the audacity to touch what is ours." Val declared with such venom. "So, you can have flings, but she can't?" Wes asked with a quirked eyebrow. "Leave playing Devil's advocate to Damien," Val replied curtly.

"Her son is a part of her, so we'll love him too." Damien finally said. "We will also ensure that the father of her child is out of the picture once we've mated." They all nodded their heads in agreement. Their mind brought up images of their mate and the smiles on their faces were beaming. For the first time in the thousands of years of their existence, they were all truly happy.

Harlow walked the streets of the Central District and sighed. She didn't have the amount of money that she needed to live a comfortable life in Seattle like she did Decatur. Most of her funds went to her mother's medical bills before she died. Her life insurance was helpful, but she didn't want to blow it all in one go. She found a studio apartment in one of the most dangerous, but affordable parts of Seattle and trusted that her new job would help her get out sooner than later.

The Uber driver would not pull up directly in front of her building out of fear. She understood, but it still sucked. She felt her phone vibrate in her purse, but decided to wait until she was safely in her apartment. She needed to be vigilant. As she made it into the building with the broken glass and door, she walked up the six flights of stairs knowing without looking that the elevators would be broken. She saw needles and other trash on the stairs and did her best to avoid them. "This is temporary." She told herself as she made it into her apartment.

She locked all three locks before relaxing. Harlow heard the soft meows coming from her baby Alistair and smiled. "Hello, Mama's baby." She cooed as she sat on the worn futon and waited for her 40" long Maine coon cat to jump into her lap. "You're getting big, Ali. I can barely even carry you anymore." He meowed in response before rubbing his head against hers causing her to smile. "Dinner time," she said as she moved him over and went to get his expensive wet food. She spent more money on that cat than herself, but she knew her baby liked the finer things in life.

Harlow took off her clothes and hopped in the shower before getting ready for bed. She sighed with a stretch as she watched Alistair jump onto her bed and make himself comfortable on his designated pillow. Once she was safe in the comfort of her bed, Harlow looked at her phone and smiled. Wes had text her and it was the cutest thing. She couldn't fathom why she felt so comfortable with three perfect strangers, but she did. She even acknowledged the hint of jealousy that ached her when the stupid waitress tried and failed at flirting with them.

She couldn't believe this. Her phone was dryer than the Sahara, but here she was receiving a text from an actual god. She pinched herself for good measure before kicking her legs with glee. Alistair looked at her as if she were crazy. She wanted to respond, but began second guessing herself. "Nope, I'm not going to do this. He's a nice guy and probably just wants to be friends anyway. No pressure."

She didn't over think it and hit send. She then immediately placed her phone on Do Not Disturb before setting it down and settling in bed. She couldn't help but think about all the day had offered. Harlow wasn't one to discredit luck, as she had danced with Lady Luck on quite a few occasions and always came out a winner. She applied for her new job after a few days of groaning about needing a well-paying job in her specific field outside of Georgia. It just seemed to have manifested out of nowhere.

Her mother was given six months to live, but held on for two years. There were various other scenarios in her life where Harlow had asked for something and received it. Her mother always said she was blessed and that's why things just seemed to fall her way, but she didn't know how true that was. Southern women were always saying someone was blessed or highly favored.

All of her wishing and hoping never brought her father back though or healed her mother from the rarest of cancers. She still lived where she lived despite wishing for something better and still had yet to have a serious boyfriend despite desperately wanting to feel the earnest and true love of a good man.

Harlow went to bed hopeful that the weekend would be good to her. She was going to start her search on finding a new place to live. She calculated that she only needed three months' worth of paychecks to find a place in the nicer part of town and wanted to get a head start on the hunt. "I really hope to find a new place to live soon." She whispered to herself before shutting her eyes and falling into a deep sleep.

"She texted you back?" Val said shocked as Wes nodded and smiled. "I'm sure she's asleep by now, so you can text her tomorrow," he said before getting into bed. Val looked at him pensively from the doorway. "Do you think she'll agree to us? All three of us." Wes shrugged as he sat up in bed. "She has no choice. She's our mate. She was specifically made for us." Val shook his head deep in thought. "She's mortal, Wes. The supernatural rules don't apply to them. She seems open enough, but three men...that could be too much for her and if so, what will we do?"

Wes seemed to take in his words before speaking. "She has no choice. She's ours and we're hers. We'll make it work." Val sighed deeply. "Then there's the issue about telling her we are." Wes knew the chips were stacked against them the moment they realized she was mortal. "We'll make it work." He repeated before laying down. "Get the fuck out and go to sleep," his wolf, Aries, growled as his eyes glowed amber. "Fuck you too, Aries." Val called out before closing the door.

That weekend the men spent their time wisely. Wes focused on the nearby packs though all were under his rule as a werewolf King. He was the one true Alpha and had reign over werewolves all over the world for centuries, but felt it best to properly appoint alphas to lead in his stead as he could not be everywhere at once. He made visits to various packs throughout the year to ensure he saw all packs at least once over the timespan of two years. He loved his wolves and took comfort in the fact that not only did they all care for him in return, they also respected him as the patriarch.

Val was the oldest vampires still alive with abilities that made him the most feared. He spent part of the weekend ensuring that the vampires in the area were behaving according to the ordinances set forth by the supernatural council that he, Wes and Damien appointed a century ago. West coast vampires were quite different from other vampires across the nation and world. There was a subtle arrogance to them that irked him, but he understood. A majority of them were quite young and turned by lazy makers who didn't take the time to show them the way.

He spent most of his time teaching and training, which was effective because they all knew who he was and feared him. Fear was Val's favorite tool for discipline, redirection and most important correction. The remainder of Val's weekend was spent getting Harlow's room ready for the inevitable moment where she would move in with them. He knew it could take months or even years since she was mortal, but he was hopeful. He didn't want to think about the negatives and cons stacked against them, so instead he poured his energy into making a room fit for their Queen.

Damien spent the weekend back home. Hell was an interesting place. A place he couldn't wait to bring Harlow to. Despite the large section and levels of fire and brimstone, Hell was quite beautiful. There were oceans with islands and waterfalls. Homes with unimaginable architecture and creatures of all kind that inhabited the limitless place. He spent time talking to his father and playing with his pet Cerberus. All in all, the men were productive and able to have at least thirty minutes without Harlow plaguing their minds.

"I can't believe you did this," Damien said as he looked around the rose gold, white and pastel pink room. "I figured she'd like it. She's a geek, but definitely came off as a girly girl hence the décor. I got all the things I could that a geek liked according to Reddit." Val pointed out the gamer setup and consoles. She also had a desk to work at, as well as a sofa and big screen television. Her bed was large enough to fit three of them at a time and Damien knew that was purposeful.

He didn't want Val getting his hopes up. He was the sappiest of lovers among the three of them and he wanted him to be prepared for her possible rejection. That was all Damien could think about. Her rejection. He couldn't fathom how an angel like herself could ever love a demon like him. "The room looks great, Val," Wes said taking it all in. Val smiled triumphantly. "Mind your expectations, friend. She could say no." Val's smile turned sour before he looked away. "She'll say yes to us, Val. Don't worry." Wes said with a hopeful smile.

"How can you be so sure, Wes? If you were human, would you say yes to marrying a werewolf, vampire and demon? Would you even believe that if you were told so?" Val asked on the verge of hysterics. Damien looked at his two best friends and sighed. "I want her just as badly as you two do, but we have to be prepared. We know what her rejection will mean for us and we have to be ready for that." He left them there with their thoughts as he made his way to his room. Tomorrow was going to be a long day as they had a few new hires that were starting and as CEO, Damien had to make an appearance.

He knew he had yet to text Harlow, but he was unsure of himself. He was the oldest of the group and still struggled with technology even though it made his job as a demon so much easier. He had her number and had crafted various texts over and over, but never hit send until tonight. He reread his message over and over again until he saw the three dots form at the bottom of the text.

Damien smiled to himself already visualizing how nervous she must be. He wanted to kiss away her anxiety and massage her until the stress rolled away. Damien was proud of his responses and the back and forth they shared for the next thirty minutes. It was getting late so he wished her goodnight and headed to bed himself. He didn't need much sleep in his mortal form and none in his demonic form, but he just liked it. Sleep was fun.

He knew he needed to take things slow since she was a mortal, but he didn't know if he could keep his demon, Bael, from surfacing and mating her immediately. They needed a plan and Damien knew it needed to be formulated with a quickness. He couldn't take being away from her much longer.
