Christmas came early and I got the best gift from Santa! Jack's lips are better than I have ever felt. Okay, I haven't kissed all that many men but still his lips are better than anything I have ever touched.

Wonder if he uses chapstick or something, because his lips are like soft velvet.

I feel as he nips at my bottom lip wanting entrance and I slowly open my mouth to him. Our tongues dance together and his hand cups my cheek while the other holds my waist.

All thoughts leave my mind as I can only feel and taste Jack. That is until something wet hits my face gently.

I pull away from the kiss wondering if he had started crying, but when he looks at me his eyes are bright and free of tears. Then I see it around me, small specks of snow are falling from the sky.

That is the one thing about our town of Lovesboro, it can be only part cloudy with sunshine one minute and the next who knows.

Jack's thumb brushes my lip and makes him smile wide at me. "You had a snowflake fall on those amazing lips of yours."

He takes my hand and we try to walk fast back to the hospital doors that are still a good ways away from us with how far we walked out. Just as we step under the pavilion leading up to the doors, the snow has already started falling hard.

"Looks like it came early this year. I could agree though skip Halloween and Thanksgiving to get to Chirstmas. I really am hoping my Christmas wish comes true." Jack sighs some.

"I hope it does for you too."

Jack looks at me and smiles slightly. "Part of it is starting to come true thanks to you Holly."

We fall into a comfortable silence and watch the snow fall some more. My mind takes over again with everything, but I don't regret kissing Jack and it felt so right even if it is wrong all at the same time.

"Where is your mind at with the small sigh that you just done?" Jack asks, catching my mood.

"Honestly, how I enjoyed kissing you and want to do it even more. The only thing is I shouldn't have done that either."

"I won't tell everyone, Holly. There is a part of me hoping we can do it again. If I am being honest after my wife passed, never did I think I would feel this way again but I have with you and it is not just because you are helping Nicolas but because of the person you are. You have gone beyond what you have too and even now making sure I got out for fresh air and not leaving me alone."

"I have done more than I have for other patients and I know I may have over stepped a few times. There is just a pull to you and Nicolas is such an amazing little man. He is not letting his diagnosis get to him or get him down at all."

My phone dings and I pull it out.

"Let's head back in and look over his lab results. Jewels sent me a text telling me she has the papers for me to go over."

Jack takes my hand and holds it until the elevator doors ding signaling that we are back on the peds floor. He made sure to squeeze my hand before he let go.

I walk up to the nurse station and Jewels smiles.

"Your noses look like they are trying to beat Rudolph's." She laughs handing my computer over me with the lab papers.

"It started snowing while we were out. Then we just stood outside to watch it. How is his vitals?"

"They have stayed level." Jewels answers.

Jack slides a cup of coffee over to me. I didn't realize he went to the parents lounge where we keep refreshments for them.

"Thanks." I smile and take a sip, looking back over the papers.

"I am going to go back to the room and check on Nicolas." Jack whispers.

"I will be right there after I look over these labs."

Jack takes his coffee and walks down the hall slightly to the room. No sooner than we hear the door close, Jewels leans on the counter right in front of me to where we stand eye to eye.

"Your nose isn't the only thing I notice." She whispers.

"No work gossip, Jewels." I smile and tsk my tongue at her.

"Oh this is nothing to do with work and I could care less with gossiping to other nurses. All I care about it if you enjoyed it."

I shake my head and focus on the papers.

"Fine. Just wait until we are off work, because I will come to your place and bug you over dinner." Jewels smirks and takes off right when another patients room pushed the nurse call button.

Comparing the blood work over the course of the ones we have gotten, you can see a difference in his numbers. They have gotten lower. It is not to fast but not overly slow considering this is after the second full round of treatment.

I walk to the room and knock on the door, and enter to see that Nicolas is awake and talking with Tony.

"He just woke up." Jack smiles.

"How are you feeling little man?" I walk over to him and place my computer on the counter.

"My stomach doesn't hurt anymore." Nicolas smiles.

"That is great means that medicine I gave you helps. Do you think you could handle some dinner?"

Nicolas nods and Tony jumps up to get him something other than the dinner tray the hospital had brought in while I was out with Jack.

"So Nicolas, your numbers are coming down which is a good thing. It tells me that this course of treatment we are currently on is helping and it is the course we need to stay on." I look to Nicolas and Jack.

Jack lets out a breath of air and smiles at Nicolas before looking to me.

I stay a little longer in the room, and go through checking over Nicolas and document everything into his chart. Before, Tony gets back with food for all three of them.

Walking out of the room, I see Dr. Marshall and we go over what has changed and he signs off agreeing that this is the best thing to keep doing. I only go back to the room, to bid them all a good night and then clock out grabbing my bag and shutting off my computer.

Massie catches me outside of the doors along with Jewels. The three of us go to get some food and all head back to my house for the night just talking and catching up together. At least with Massie being here, Jewels has not been able to question me on Jack and I am nervous for when she does.

I know my sister won't judge or tell anyone that I am falling for my patients father. It is rocky grounds I am treading but I can't stop how I feel.
