《Princess Of The Underworld》02| Dear Old Dad

I sat at the small table in Maleficent and Mal's apartment, my feet propped up on the table.
"You go to Auardon, meet the Fairy Godmother, and bring her wand to me. Easy peasy." Maleficent told the plan.
"What's in it for us?" Her daughter asked.
"Matching thrones, her's and her's crowns." Maleficent listed, naming stuff for herself and Mal.
"I think she meant all of us." Carlos suggested ,motioning to the group and I hummed in agreement.
"It's all about you and me, baby." The horned women told her daughter as she beckoned her forward. "Do you enjoy watching people suffer?" I found myself nodding even though the question wasn't directed at me.
Mal scoffed, "Yeah, who doesn't?"
"Well, then get me the wand!" Maleficent shouted, causing my father to roll his eyes. "And you and I can see all that and so much more. And with that wand and my scepter, I will be able to bend both good and evil to my will!"
"Our will." My father reminded Maleficent, the other villains nodded.
"Our will, our will." Maleficent corrected herself, she then snapped, catching Mal's attention, "And if you refuse, you're grounded for the rest of your life, missy."
"What? Mom-" Mal was cut off by a snap and it only took a second to realize what was going on, they were having a stare off.
Mal grunted in defeat, "Fine. Whatever."
"I win." Maleficent announced, just as the Evil Queen called for her daughter. Evie then skipped over, sitting down next to me.
"My little evil-ette in training, you just find yourself a prince with a big castle, and a mother in law wing." The Evil Queen instructed het daughter.
"And lots and lots of mirrors." The duo said causing Evie to giggle.
"No laughing," Her mother snapped, "Wrinkles." Evie immediately stopped giggling.
"Hadey, you're going." My father ordered, not looking up from his nails.

I rolled my eyes, scowling over at him, "Dad!" I argued, "If I go, who will help run the underworld?"
The Evil Queen looked over at my father from across the table, "I've been meaning to ask, how is the underworld these days?"
I shrugged, blowing a piece of blue hair out if my face, "A little dark, a little gloomy, and as always, full of dead people."
My father chuckled, before glancing up at me, "You're going."
I let out an annoyed sigh, my hair smoking a bit as I leaned back in my chair. This could not be happening.
"Carlos can't go!" Cruella exclaimed looking at her son, "I'd miss him too much!"
The black and white haired boy looked up at his mother, "Really, mom?"
Cruella nodded, "Yes. Who would touch up my roots, fluff my fur, and scrape the bunions off my feet?" She then pushed her leg into Carlos' arm, who dropped it back to the floor.
"Yeah, maybe a new school wouldn't be the worst thing."
"Oh, Carlos," His mom rubbed his cheek, "They have dogs in Auradon."
The De Vil boy's eyes grew wide at the mention of dogs and he shook his head, "Oh, no! I'm not going!"
"Well, Jay isn't going either. I need him to stock the shelves in my store. What did you score?"
Jay chuckled, pulling various items he had stolen throughout the day out of his vest. He then held up a lamp, his father instantly taking it and rubbing it, hoping a genie would appear.
His son only shook his head, patting his dad on the back, "Dad, dad, I already tried." Jafar huffed in annoyance and tossed the lamp back to Jay.
"Evie's not going anywhere until we get this unibrow, hmm?" The Evil Queen announced and I squinted my eyes, seeing no sign of a unibrow on my friend's face.
"What is wrong with you all?" Maleficent cried out, as she pushed Mal off the stairs where she was sitting, "People used to cower at the mention of our names!"

Mal hurriedly plopped in the seat next to me, my father rolled his eyes as Maleficent began to rage.
"For twenty years, they have robbed us from our revenge-" She pointed at the Evil Queen, "Revenge on Snow White and her horrible little men."
She looked at Jafar, "Revenge on Aladdin and his genie!" Jay had to hold back his father from moving towards Mal's mother.
Maleficent looked at my dad, "Revenge on that boy and his godly father!"
At the mention of Hercules and my uncle, dad's hair fried a little, the magic barrier stopping it from becoming full flame, "I'm cool, I'm cool."
"Revenge on every sneaky Dalmatian that escaped your clutches." Maleficent pointed at Cruella.
"Not, Baby!" The woman laughed, squeaking the plush dog on her coat, "They didn't get the baby!" She laughed like a manic. Carlos looked over at me with an exasperated look, I only shrugged at him.
"And, I Maleficent! The evilest of them all, I will finally have my revenge on Sleeping Beauty, and her little prince!" She glared out the window that faced towards Auradon before looking back at all of us, "Villains?"
My father briefly glanced up at the horned women, "Hmm?"
"Yes?"
"Yeah?"
"What?"
Maleficent smirked at our parents, "Our day has come." She then turned to Evie and her mom, "E.Q. give her the magic mirror."
The Evil Queen nodded, handing her daughter a small mirror, Evie looked at it in disbelief, it was a lot less then I was expecting, "This is your magic mirror?"
"Yeah, well it ain't what it used to be," She then turned to Maleficent, "but then again, neither are we!" The two burst into laughter.
"It will help you find things." The Queen said.
"Like a prince?" Evie asked excitedly causing me to roll my eyes.
"Like my waistline." Her mother joked.
"Like the magic wand. Hello!" Maleficent reminded.
"Hello." My father added sarcastically.
Maleficent then pulled a book from the fridge which she referred to as, The Safe, "My book! My spellbook!" She thrust it into Mal's hands, "It doesn't work here, but it will in Auradon."
The former fairy sighed, "I remember using this to rain horror upon the land." She then turned to look at her daughter, "And now you'll be making your own memories...by doing exactly as I tell you."
At the sound of a car honking we all knew it was time to go.
"Hadey," My father called and I walked over to him, "It's up to you to release us all from this prison, don't blow it kid."
I nodded at him, flashing my eyes their fiery blue, "I won't dad."
He nodded at me, smirking, "I hope so. Now go cause some trouble and get that wand!"
I smirked, grabbing my bag and running out the door to catch up with the others.
At the sight of the very, very fancy looming car I whistled. This was what the people of Auradon lived like?
"Hadey!" Mal snapped, cocking her head towards the car. I rolled my eyes at my best friend, but nonetheless tossed my bag in the trunk, then hopped in the car myself.
"Bring home a prince!"
"Bring home a puppy!"
"Bring home a lamp!"
When I didn't here my father's voice, I turned around and looked out the window to see him standing in front of Maleficent's castle doors.
We made eye contact, and I nodded as he gave me the signal that he was watching me.
I sighed, twisting forwards in my seat.
To Auradon we go.

Post War Rules
Life on Torus Terminal is usually fast paced, but simple. A frontier Terminal has little room for easy living, but the great, circular station does boast shopping and culinary experiences from many Imperial races and cultures. Any star is, by its nature, extremely far from its neighbors. But laser highways, and the great shimmering sails of the light-rider spaceships make the trip into only about ten years. Still, the denizens of Torus Terminal eagerly await the day when the Anti-Euclidean Engine their station is built around finally comes online. Once that is done, they will have unfettered access to the entire Empire. Instantaneous travel and trade across hundreds of stars. Torus Terminal does boast one other oddity: a creature which calls itself Human. As he says, the last of his kind for now. He has made quite the life for himself on Torus Terminal, especially in the darker corners of the station. The elites of Torus Terminal praise his name, for once he took up arms, crime began to fall. What they did not realize was that was because he had claimed the seedy underbelly of Torus Terminal for himself and his own goals. The elites praise him as a paragon of law. The criminals fear him as a ruthlessly clever crime boss. Those closest to him, know him as the General. This story was originally posted on the Humanity Fuck Yeah subreddit, where it evolved from a simple play on a historical figure in a science fiction setting into a full blown space opera. I kind of took it as an opportunity to explore a setting I've had rolling around in my head for years. I also decided that it would be nice to have it in a place where I could more easily come back and edit it later, so I'm reposting it here. Here's a link to the original posting if you're interested: https://www.reddit.com/r/HFY/comments/e9cwpl/post_war_rules/ If my genre and tagging is subpar, let me know. I'm still new to Royal Road and I'm open to help. Feel free to comment and make suggestions, or discuss. I love comments, and so long as we keep things civil I also love criticism.

About the Author This is my first novel or any attempt to write something so I'm pretty much a newbie trying to pen down the fantasies rolling in my mind. English isn't my First language so brace yourself for some grammatic potholes. But I'm genuinely working on improving my English but it won't be happening overnight as it's a process, I guess. (for the time being, I'm trying to make it readable with some Grammar checking software) Moreover, I wish to improve my writing skills as the story grows and readers help in spotting mistakes or critics might turn it into a reality.
