《Princess Of The Underworld》03| Bridges and Bands

I watched amused, sucking on a lemon flavored colored stick, as Carlos and Jay fought over literally everything in the car.

"You're looking at little washed out," At the sound of Evie's voice, I looked to my left to see the darker blue-haired girl leaning towards me with one of her hundreds of makeup brushes, "Let me help you out."

"Ew, stop." I pushed the taller girl's arm away, "The washed out look is what I'm going for. Like a corpse, ya know?"

Evie pouted, looking in her mirror as she did something to her hair.

Carlos held up another candy, "These!" He mumbled through a stuffed mouth, "It's salty like nuts, but it's sweet like I don't know what."

Mal then pushed a button on a remote, causing Evie to turn around.

"Look!" Evie exclaimed, I followed her gaze to see that we were about to drive straight off the broken bridge. We were gonna die!

"It's a trap!" Carlos yelled.

We all screamed, holding each other close, and bracing for impact. I buried my head in the seat with Jay's arm around my back.

Just as I expected us to fall, I realized we were still alive. Were we flying?

I took a breath in, looking out the window to see that we were driving over a yellow bridge that was definitely not there before. What the...

"What just happened?" Carlos asked for all of us, and I let out a chuckle of relief, pushing Jay off of me.

"It must be magic!" Evie giggled, and Mal looked at the remote in her hands before turning to the driver.

"Hey. Did this little button just open up the magic barrier?" I leaned closer to the window, looking at the path that was floating above the water.

The driver shook his head, holding up another remote, "No, this one opens the magic barrier." He pointed to the one in Mal's hand, "That one opens my garage. And this button..." As soon as he clicked it, a wall came up, separating us from the driver, I chuckled.

"Nasty." Mal announced, situating herself in the seat.

"I like him." The group laughed and we continued on our way.

After a while, we drove past a sign: Auradon Prep, Goodness doesn't get any better.

I blew a piece of hair out of my face, "Looks like we're here." I voiced with mock amusement, we all exchanged grim looks.

"Hey," Mal asked us, looking around, "Is that, music?"

I peeked out the window to see a band playing and welcome signs, with people waving and dancing, smiling all happy and cheerful, it was disgusting.

Once the car stopped and the driver opened the door, Jay and Carlos tumbled out and onto the ground, fighting over a blanket. I only rolled my eyes, following Mal and Evie out of the car.

I scowled as the sun hit my face, it was way brighter here then it was back home.

I then cast my eyes downwards to see my two idiotic friends still fighting.

"Guys, guys!" Mal shouted at the boys, as I kicked Jay's legs, "We have an audience."

The people in blue and yellow with instruments parted to make a path, where a women with a smile so big it had to hurt, walked towards us, her smile fell when her eyes went to the boys on the ground.

"Just cleaning up." Jay said, spitting a chip out of his mouth and yanking Carlos onto his feet.

"Leave it like you found it!" The woman said in an annoying sing-song voice, "And by that I mean just leave it."

Mal rolled her eyes, as we all turned to face Jay, who threw what he was carrying back into the car, I mentally face-palmed when I heard something crash. The woman then nodded at us, she looked strangely familiar.

"Hello, Foxy." Jay said, walking over to an annoyingly pretty girl, "The name's Jay." He tried to charm, I exchanged a humorous glance with Carlos.

The girl laughed awkwardly, before the woman piped in again, she just doesn't stop, "Welcome to Auradon Prep. I'm Fairy Godmother, Headmistress."

I grabbed the back of Jay's vest, pulling him backwards as I walked closer to the women, "The Fairy Godmother? Like Cinderella, pretty wand, carriage, pretty wand, mice into horses, pretty wand?"

"Bibbidi-bobbidi. You know it." I was somehow able to maintain my painful smile through her horrible pun.

Mal then walked up next to me, "Yeah, I always wondered what it felt like for Cinderella when you appeared, out of nowhere, with that sparkly wand and warm smile. And with the wand you gave her the dress, the hair..."

"The uncomfortable shoes." I added in causing Mal to nod.

"That was a long time ago. And as I always say, don't focus on the past or you'll miss the future." She said, using hand motions for affect.

"It's so good to finally meet you all." A guy I didn't notice before spoke up, he looked like your typical prep boy, "I'm Ben." Even a typical name.

The girl Jay flirted with, jumped in, "Prince Benjamin." That explains it, "Soon to be king."

"You had me at prince," Evie told the boy, stepping forward towards him. I glanced over at Mal to see her eyes turning their electric green, she had been crushing on Evie for ages, and she didn't take the Evil Queen's daughter flirting with others very well. I slightly nudged Mal, bringing her back to reality, she nodded at me, before looking down at her boots.

"My mom's a queen," Evie explained, trying her hardest to look royal, "which makes me a princess."

The annoying girl shook her head, The Evil Queen has no royal status here, and neither do you." I could feel the anger and annoyance at the girl growing inside of me.

"Uh, Hadey." Carlos whispered to me, then motioned to his head. I looked at a strand of my own hair to see it was steaming.

The Auradon Kids must have noticed as fear made it's way onto their faces, some slowly backing away. My friends just smiled, enjoying the frightened looks from the AK's. After a second or two, I calmed, my hair returning to normal and not on fire.

The Prince laughed, desperately trying to lighten the mood, "This is Audrey." He introduced the girl.

"Princess Audrey." She corrected, looking at me warily, "His girlfriend. Right Bennyboo?" I had to bite my lip to keep from smiling, this place was too predictable.

"Ben and Audrey are going to show you all around, and I'll see you tomorrow." The Fairy Godmother smiled, before separating the stereotypical couple's hands, "The doors of wisdom are never shut. But from the library hours are from eight to eleven. And as you may have heard, I have a little thing about curfews." We all fake chuckled, but we all knew that we already hated this place.

The Fairy Godmother smiled at us one last time before leaving us alone with The Prince and Princess...great.
