A/N Selected song for this chapter: Tine is Running Out, by Muse
Kill me. Just end my suffering. I would rather suffer a paper cut to the eye than to deal with one more hour of this. I'm sure everyone else felt the same way. School sucked. No surprise there. I mean, if you have a class you like or lively teachers, it's okay, but when you're sitting in social studies, talking about people who are already dead and the drone of a teacher is reading in a monotone out of the book, you feel like you're going to die. Oh wait, no, 'cause right now, death would be a blessing.
"Now, class, I have a packet for you to complete for chapter three. It's only twelve pages long, eighty nine questions, I expect it in my hand and completed by the beginning of the hour tomorrow."
Only. Only? Only! Only twelve pages? Only eighty nine questions? Is he serious? Due tomorrow. I fell out of my chair and the blonde kid behind me stood up and held his hand out to help me off the floor.
"Niall, please take you're seat, and Gwen, get off the floor!"
I took Niall's hand and he pulled me up with unknown strength, and let me tell you, I'm not the lightest person in the world. I smiled and mumbled what I hope he understood as a thank you, since it came out all wanky. He nodded and we both sat back down. I got my packet and I swear, when it hit the table, the table almost collapsed under its weight. I looked through it and more than three fourths was constructed response. I groaned and almost fell out of my chair again, but I felt a hand on my shoulder. I glanced back and it was Niall. He flashed me a smile and I blushed then looked away. I had to struggle and use my scrawny muscles to lift the bloody thing off the table and put it in my bag. I have such a great freaking social studies teacher, note the heavy sarcasm.

"Having trouble there, Gwen?" I glanced over and noticed Harry was smirking at me.
"I dunno, do you need some viagra? Looks like you're having trouble, as well," I muttered under my breath, not having the guts to actually say anything to his face.
I heard Niall laughing behind me and it boosted my self esteem.
I rolled my eyes as Harry gave me a cheeky smile and I slumped in my seat as the teacher took control again.
(A/N Cue Music)
I glanced out the open window and thought I saw something lurking in the shadows of the building, but I couldn't be sure.
"Aye, love, what are you looking at?" I was snapped back by a male's voice behind me.
"Oh, uh, nothing..." I replied to Niall. I didn't want to say if someone was out there, because what if I were wrong, I would look even more stupid than I look right now.
"Okay..." He didn't sound so sure, though.
"Alright. Now to start the lesson for today. Each of you, partner up. Wait, no, I'll put you in groups..." Kill joy."Britney, you're with..." please let him put me with Britney. Britney and I were super close friends."Aiden..." Damn it all."Gwendoyn, you're with Harry..." I heard a sigh behind me and guessed that Niall wanted to work with Harry."Chassidy, you're with Alex..."
"Uhhhh, but I don't wanna be with her!" Chassidy gasped. The teacher glanced at her with a bored expression.
"Chassidy, I guess you won't actually have to work on it after school today-" What? Let me misbehave! Any excuse for not doing this worksheet packet thingy.
"You'll have plenty of time to do it in detention after school today!" The teacher finished.
Chassidy popped her bubble gum and let out a shriek, but never finished her sentence because the teacher began throwing pens at her.
"Stop talking! You're interrupting my class!" He shouted at her once he ran out of markers, then he went back to pairing off the class.

"Hey," I heard the greeting behind me and I turned around to see Harry's smirk.
"Hi," I replied, too tired to try.
"Lynn!" I heard Britney call as she ran over to me, dragging poor Aiden behind her.
"B!" I exclaimed as we tackled each other in a hug. We laughed in each other's arms before I felt someone tugging on the neck of my shirt. I pulled away and turned to scowl at Harry.
"Gwen, we have to start our project," he reminded me before I groaned and released Britney.
Harry chuckled and led me to a table by the window. He pulled out a text book and handed it to me before he pulled out a sheet of paper. He wrote our names at the top of it in beautiful calligraphy.
"What do you want me to do?" I asked, not sure of what we were doing.
"We have to-" But Harry was cut off when some guy jumped through the window, breaking it with impact.
"Dancing fire goblins!" I exclaimed, but I kept my buns firmly planted in my seat. I was not going to fall out of my chair again.
"Gwen!" Harry stage whispered, but I was too scared to move.
People shrieked behind me and jumped up. The teacher stood, frozen to the spot. the man was right bloody next to me and I could see something bulging under his coat. Crap. Oh, crap. He has a gun. I'm the closest to him.
"Gwen! Get away!" Harry called, louder this time.
In a swift movement, he yanked his zipper down and whipped out the gun. He grabbed me by my hair and pulled me up against him. I bit my cheek to keep from crying out.
I met Harry's eyes as he moved towards me, but the guy aimed his gun at Harry.
"Nobody move, or I'll shoot her. Where are Niall, Harry, Louis, Liam, and Zayn?" His gruff voice huffed out through his black ski mask. I shut off my mind and let my body guide me. I wasn't important anymore, I had to protect everyone else.
I slammed my elbow into his stomach, causing him to gasp with surprise and release me. I spun around and kicked him in the groin, but he punched me in the face, sending me stumbling back. I heard loud popping noises and I fell flat on my ass. He was shooting his gun.
I saw Harry move towards me, towards the man, but the man came to my side and drove his foot into my ribs. I shrieked as his force sent me into the wall, where he proceeded to kick me. I saw Harry coming up behind him and I stuck my hand out towards him.
"Har-ry" My voice broke as he kicked me again.
I watched Harry jump on the man and they began to blur away as I felt myself slipping. I coughed and blood splattered the old, white tiles.
I knew that I was going to die, I just hoped I had bought the others some time. I closed my eyes, accepting my fate. The last thing I saw was the man aiming his gun at my head and Harry standing in front of me. Lord, let it be quick.
Right before I heard the loud, fatal bang, I felt someithing soft, firm, cold, but a little bigger than me, press against my body, between me and the gunman. I heard a round of shots being fired and I held in a scream. I couldn't take all of this. I blacked out, not knowing if I would ever wake up.
A/N okay, this is a story idea I've been storing inside me for a while. Let me know what you think!

Marakar
Far from the exploration he yearned to go on, Rae, the Kijah prince, finds himself in the middle of the impending war between Kijah'dar and Ga'ani. Unknown to him, or to the rest of the states, the Kijah Magister plots to overthrow the queen, and he will stop at nothing to achieve his plans. Marakar is a fantasy adventure series about the island states of Mar’narana (with focus primarily on the two states, Kijah'dar and Ga'ani). Tensions between the big players are rising, with more and more plots getting revealed, and powers are unexpectedly shifting. As the string of seemingly unconnected events grows taut, the smaller nations suddenly find themselves into the midst of things, struggling with the sudden shifting of their boards. On a more meta note, I am trying to develop two storylines parallel to each other. As you might have noticed, odd-numbered chapters are very different from even-numbered chapters. That’s because those are the two different storylines; odd-numbered chapters are in the present, while even-numbered ones are in the past. Once the two eventually meet I'll continue with just the present storyline. This story can also be found here where it currently updates every other Sunday (about twice a month). Feedback is greatly appreciated! Thank you for taking the time to read. :) tw/cw list (please take care of your mental health! Don't force yourself to read these chapters if they may harm you). -------> Chapter 14: hate crime description.
