《BRUINS》18

"Julie's gone."
"What do you mean, 'gone'?"
"There aren't multiple definitions of 'gone', Allie. She's nowhere to be found."
Janine starts shaking her head, as the midfielder still tries to come up with a logical explanation of the whole situation. It's been two hours since the blonde has been gone, and after noticing nobody really know where she is or has seen her leave, Janine started worrying.
She rolls her eyes, as Allie settles :
"You, don't move. I'll warn Kelley"
"Fine."
"You should talk to your ex-girlfriend, she might help us." The middy adds, as the brunette rolls her eyes.
I don't need her to find my friend dude, is all Janine is thinking at the moment. But since Julie is an important person to her, she decides to put her pride aside and walk toward Kasey, who is in a deep talk with one of her teammate, whose name is Lynn.
When she realizes the forward needs to talk to her, Kassey immediately worries : she knows Janine would never ask for her help if she really needed to. So she stops the conversation she's having with her friend, and Lynn immediately recognizes Janine - probably by the pictures Kassey once posted on her Instagram when they were together.
Kassey starts frowning.
"What do you need, Jan ?" she asks, cautious.
No matter how much time has passed, Janine always notices the way Kassey truly cares about her. And that somehow makes her happy.
Pull it together : JJ needs your help.
Once she explained the situation to the two girls, Janine rolls her eyes, knowing very well that the girls from Stanford are behind this.
And Kassey seems to know it too somehow. Her face is now serious and angry, as she turn to Lynn.
"Go and get Jess and Catley, and warn the boys about that. Order them to walk around the whole campus to try and find their teammate" she starts, as Lynn immediately jogs toward her teammates, who are having a laugh with McCaffrey. Allie, on the other hand, is already talking to Kelley. So now its only the brunette and her ex-grifriend. "You, follow me" Kassey orders, bossy.
Too worried to actually care about being ordered things by Kassey, Janine decides to follow her.
After they have been walking for ten minutes, Janine says :
"Thanks for doing... You know" she starts, nervous. Kassey's blue eyes are now staring at her, and she suddenly feels nervous. "What you do" Janine finishes the sentence.
Kassey nods.
"Of course." There is something in her eyes that Janine haven't seen in a while, but she decides to ignore it because then doesn't want the blonde to enter her head. "Nobody here like Solo and her team of unrespectful cheaters" she then adds.

"Still" Janine insists. "You didn't have to do this, but you still do it. So thank you."
"You know I do that for you" Kassey whispers, as the two girls are reaching an old house in the campus, that looks deserted, except for a light in the second floor. Kassey frowns, looking at the brunette. "Here, this is what we call the GQ. Follow me."
"Wait" Janine says, grabbing Kassey's forearm, causing her to slow down.
"We don't have time to wait"
With that said, she enters the house by giving a code away, Janine right behind her.
Kassey wasn't joking when she said 'GQ'. Of course Janine has once or twice been here when they were still together : this place is an abandoned house that the Harvard soccer teams -both boys and girls - have illegally made theirs and rearranged so that they'd be able to party, sleep and work on it. When the two girls make their entrance, all eyes are on then for a few seconds, as the people are silently greeting both of them - because they remember Janine. After a few seconds, the babyfoot games are underway again, as Kassey grabs Janine's forearm to lead her where she wants to go.
The blonde then makes Janine sit down on a couch, as a guy is serving them drinks. As soon as he's gone, and that Kassey sat down on the couch, Janine says :
"I don't see why we are sitting here while JJ might be in danger out there. I'm not fucking staying here."
"You moody lady" Kassey comments, rolling her eyes. "Your friend is on her way here."
Janine almost chuckles in her saliva, shocked.
"Wait, t-they found her ?"
"Yah" Kassey only says, distracted. But when she sees the look Janine is giving her, she sighs and says : "My boys found her near the headmasters office, passed out, and when they woke her up, she just puked right in front of them."
Horrified, the forward has both her eyes and mouth wide open.
"Oh my God, what did they do to her ?"
Kassey once again sighs.
"Looks like they drugged her and wanted the headmaster finding her so that you guys would be in trouble" the blonde explains, frowning. "She is lucky we found her. My buddy Catley will take care of her. She's a specialist, former junkie. Your friend will feel better in the morning."
Something just runs through Janine's minds, so she asks :
"If you knew she was found, why did you bring me here ?"
There is blush on Kassey's cheeks, as she doesn't answer right away. But when she does, it's in a confident tone :

"I wanted to spend some time alone with you, Janine. I miss you every day, and-"
"Don't" Janine orders, cold as ice. "You were the one saying long distance relationships are stupid and not worth it. You don't get to say you miss me now. I worked my ass off trying to forget you-"
"Have you ?"
"Kass, this is not fair."
The defender sighs, obviously disappointed.
"You're right, I'm sorry. We should go back to the others then..."
Janine only nods.

Becky pushed Shelina in the room, before locking the door and facing the brunette, arms crossed against her chest.
There is nothing sweet and loving about her tone though.
"YOU ATTACKED JJ ? MY JJ ?" she yells, absolutely out of her mind. As Shelina jumps a little bit, suddenly terrified by the woman she loves, the captain continues : "YOU KNEW, DIDN'T YOU?"
The Canadian shakes her head.
"Becky..."
"Answer me !"
"You know the answer, Becky."
Even though the brunette doesn't seem happy with herself right now, shamefully looking away from the other defender, Becky starts getting more and more angry with every second that goes by. She manages to change her tone from aggressive to absolutely terrifying and threatening.
And Shelina know something is off.
"How dare you not warning me about this ?" Becky hisses, out of her minds. "You know what Julie means to me, how could you-"
"I tried to stop them, Becks, but they wouldn't listen. You know Hope and Carli, they-"
"But you could've warned me ! Why didn't you just-"
"You know my hands are tied."
"How so ?" Becky aggressively insists, more angry than ever. She almost forgets who she has in front of her when she says : "Are you too much of a coward to actually do something good for once ?"
As soon has those words came out from Becky's mouth, the brunette's facial expression immediately changes, and her faces closes. Which basically means Becky hurt her deeply.
And there is no way back now.
"What choice to I have, uhn ?" She aggressively asks, growing more angry and hurt. "Haley knows about us. And this team means the world to her - so it does to me - regardless of who is in charge. If I speak, she speaks. And if one of the leader find out about us, we-"
"You put yourself first, as always" Becky interrupts her, not thinking clearly at the moment.
She just wants to hurt Shelina, as stupid and unfair it may sound.
"I put you first, as always" Shelina coldly answers.
There is an heartbroken silence, during which Becky walks away from the door and turns her back on Shelina, who only stare at the ground before exiting the room.
There is a meaningful tear rolling down Becky's cheek.

Steph picks up the phone, worried.
"Yes ?"
"Stephy ?" a worried voice asks on the other side of the phone, and the brunette immediately recognizes her girlfriend. She doesn't have the time to answer before Abby says : "I heard what happened to Julie, are you okay ? Did they try to hurt you or something ? I swear to God I'm going to cut a bitch if-"
"Baby, slow down" the forward orders, quite surprise. It is not like Abby to talk on the phone - she hates it - and moreover, she usually never is that concerned. "I'm fine, I'm with the girls now. Julie is okay."
"Good to hear, but you need to be careful because-"
"Abby. I'm good, and I'm a big girl, I'll get home to you so that I can slip under your covers and cuddle with you, okay ?"
"Don't go out alone, got it ?" The defender goes on, ignoring what the forward just said.
Steph rolls her eyes, even though she loves the attention Abby gives her. She has a stupid smile on her lips.
"I spent the entire evening playing babyfoot with Gibby and some Harvard players and we crushed them baby" the brunette says, pround of herself. "Even the guys."
"Mhm" Abby lets out.
Steph, who really isn't used of Abby getting so worried about her, stops smiling and seriously says :
"Baby, I swear on my mother's grave that I'll come home safely, but you gotta promise me you're gonna be careful too."
"Stephy" Abby sighs, giggling. "Your mom's not dead, I had coffee with her yesterday."
"True" the forward smirks, before seeing the girls talking about something important, asking her to come. "Look, Julie needs me right now, I need to go. I love you."
"Love you" Abby answers, before hanging off.
Once Steph is done smiling, she goes and sits down next to Janine, who seems lost in her thoughts. When the Canadian looks up at her, the forward says something she never have thought she'd say.
Not even one single second :
"You have less than 24 hours to get her back, don't waste them". Janine, surprised, looks in the same direction than Steph, and immediately sees Kassey talking with Allie and Lindsey. She then adds : "You still love her to death and you know it."
"No, I-"
"Don't waste your time. I approve of that girl, Jan." The forward insists, confident. "At least talk to her."
Janine rolls her eyes.
"Dahlkemper really did change you after all" she mutters, as Steph smiles.
"She did."
