《BRUINS》19

This morning, Julie feels dead. Never ever has she felt that bad in ages, since her very first hangover in high school.

Maro, who stayed up all night watching her, finally fell asleep about an hour ago, as the first morning lights were invading the room. She is sitting on a comfy chair next to Julie's bed (she provably didn't dare to lie down next to her), her face relaxed. The blonde looks at her, an huge smile on her face. She knows her teammates aren't far away, so Julie doesn't try to do anything, and just waits.

About two hours later, the German finally wakes up, and when she realises Julie is actually awake as well, she sighs.

"You should've woken me up Jules" she says in a light accent, as Julie is smirking, finding the whole situation quite funny, given to the fact that Maro really don't like mornings. The brunette then asks : "How are you feeling ?"

"Like shit" Julie says, honest. "I think I'm still high, even though I feel like I have nothing left in me and am too weak to move."

"You puked everywhere, so that's normal" Maro says, smirking as well. She then gets up, looks around her and says : "Are you able to eat ?"

"I think so" the defender hesitantly says. "But I really can't stand."

"Don't worry about that."

With that said, the German removes the cover from Julie's legs, before slipping her forearms under Julie's back and knees, lifting her in bridal style. As a reflex, Julie wraps her arms around Maro's neck, as the brunette is looking at her in the eyes.

After smiling, the German starts walking toward the kitchen. Most of the girls are still sleeping or on their phones, so they don't notice Julie and Maro. Kelsey and Gibby, on the other hand, do notice, but they don't make any comment probably out of respect. The girls are currently staying in a little house (GQ), where Catley and Kerr brought her when they found her.

Speaking of which, the Australians are in the kitchen, and they smiles when they see the two girls come in. After Maro puts Julie's butt on a chair and gives her something to eat, she sits down as well, yawning.

"Thank you" Julie says in a low voice, slightly blushing.

Maro only nods.

Catley and Kerr, on the other hand, are in a great and talkative mood today. And somebody probably told them something, because they are just standing here, staring at the two girls, smirking. When Julie lifts her eyes toward them, Catley says :

"Kelley hasn't told me you guys were together"

"It's because we are not" Julie coldly says.

She feels the German tensing up, as Kerr bursts into laughter. "Right."

"Anyway" Catley says, pushing her friend aside. "We will leave you two alone, we have some business to deal with. We'll be here to say goodbye tho !"

Once they're gone, everything is silent again. During this short amount of time, Julie can't stop but look at her hands. That's when Maro says :

"Do you think we look like a couple ?"

Julie smirks.

"I don't know. Maybe. You know : the little blonde princess and her big, impressive, tattooed girl" she says, just picturing their names together. She then sighs, before adding : "That's quite realistic actually..."

"You know it could've been us."

That immediately makes Julie grow nervous. She doesn't know how Maro can react : this girl is so unpredictable, so impressive and she somehow still manages to make Julie feel something, even after two years away.

Julie sighs.

"But it will never be".

Maro nods, smirking. "Yeah."

Just like that, the brunette leaves the room to join Kelsey and Gibby, taking part of the conversation, as Julie just remains seated, gaining come forces : she needs them to come home, especially since Zach wants to talk to her.

This can't be good.

Janine is waiting in front of the classroom Kassey is in, nervously playing with her fingers. When the students start exiting the room, she feels her muscles shaking, before actually wanting her to fall by making weird moves. But the Canadian somehow finds a way to keep that inside of her.

The Bruins are about to go home, taking a but in less than an half-hour. Just knowing that she soon will be on the other side of the country once again, away from here, away from Kassey... this only causes her to grow sad. Because she actually listened to Steph - what an oddly weird idea by the way - when she told her to talk to Kassey : the girl deserves a special goodbye, not in front of everyone. At least that's what Janine thought.

But now that she sees Kassey confused face when she sees the brunette and her luggage waiting for her. She says goodbye to her friends, before walking toward her ex-girlfriend, who has a very weird feeling in the stomach.

"Hey, what are you doing here ?" Kassey asks, raising her eyebrow.

"Uhm... say... g-goodbye... you... uhh.... alone" Janine stammers, not able to just say the fucking text she wrote earlier so that this wouldn't happen.

"What ?"

"U-uhm, I wanted to... Ugh, why can't I just get it right ?"

"Janine, you-"

"I miss you too."

There is something in Kassey's eyes that announce to Janine they're not over. Just like when they were together : just looking into her eyes tell her everything she needs to now, and vice versa.

But there also is a frown on her face.

"Uh, look..."

Janine clumsily puts a finger on Kassey's lips, making her bag fall on the ground in the process. The blue eyes of Kassey just stare into her own, as Janine says :

"You d-don't have to say anything. I-I just figured... You d-deserved to know this whole thing is n-not o-only, uhh, I mean..."

"I know what you mean" Kassey whispers, taking Janine's wrist into her and, putting it away from her face, taking one step closer to the taller girl.

The Canadian is gasping.

"Y-you always know" she whispers, looking down at Kassey's lips.

But the blonde breaks the contact, taking Janine's wallet with her as she walks away from the girl.

"W-wait-"

"I'm going to walk you there" Kassey says, before grabbing Janine's hand.

They both know it's not much, but still enough to make them desire each other in a way that's more like an interdependency than really a sexual tension or something. When Janine sees her teammates waiting for the bus, she feels Kassey letting go of her hand, before she walks straight at the bus. Some of the girls already are on it, but since Janine doesn't want to go and leave her ex-girlfriend here, she saves some time and decides to spend the last ten minutes with her.

Once those ten precious minutes have passed, Janine kisses Kassey's cheeks, as the other girls from Harvard are waving at the bus. But once Janine gets inside the bus, Kelley is standing on her way, a serious mug on.

"Are you joking ?" the brunette exclaims, taking the Canadian by surprise by grabbing her shoulders firmly, adding : "You are not leaving until you do what you gotta do kid. Man up. Now."

Janine's heart is beating very fast, but she still manages to let a small 'yah' out, and literally running out of the bus, and then toward Kassey. She then grabs the girl's jaw, and crashes her lips on hers.

She ignores the cries of joy and applauses from the Harvard girls on their right, or even the knocks on the bus' windows from the Bruins. She ignores the world dropping at her feet, she forgets about the looks, the staring, the judgment. She avoids to open her eyes, before she doesn't want this moment to be unreal. She forgets about the world, the dreams, the sleepless nights and the hurting. All she is feeling is pure love, feelings floating everywhere in her. She just feels Kassey close to her.

Once she leave one last kiss on her lips, Janine just presses their foreheads together, before saying :

"U-uhm, I will, uhm..."

"Text me" Kassey completes, smiling. She then pecks the brunette's lips, a loving look on her bright eyes. She then smirks. "Go, your plane won't wait."

"D-do I tell my mother we a-are back together ?"

"Are we ?"

"I-I w-want t-t-to, if t-that's fine with y-you" Janine stammers, willing to bury herself under a corn field.

Kassey smiles.

"Love you, Colorado"

"L-love y-you too"

She then gets on the bus, and as soon as the vehicle starts, Janine doesn't know anymore : whether they are celebrating the win or her personal win.
