《Boyfriend for Christmas》Chapter 41...

"It's okay don't panic! We can fix this! I just need some thread. Thread!"
"Here! I found some!"
"It's okay, it's okay. I got this."
I stared down at Leah and she frantically kneels down to fix the tiny little tear in my wedding dress. I grinned at how panic-y she was when I was completely calm. You would think it is her wedding not mine.
"Leah calm down, its fine."
"Don't worry Aubrey I fixed it. See can't even tell." She stood with a grin. I shook my head at her. Knowing it was better to just go with it I grabbed her hands and squeezed.
"Thank you." She beamed at me and squeezed my hands right back.
"You look gorgeous Aubrey." She didn't even give me time to respond back before she pulled her hands free. "I need to check on the boys and the photographer. I'll be right back!" With that Leah practically ran out of the room. For someone wearing heels she sure was fast.
"You'd think she's the one getting married." Olivia joked coming up beside me.
"She's taken the title 'Maid of Honor' a bit seriously." I laughed. I really did appreciate it though. As soon as I asked Leah to be my maid of honor she's done so much to help me. Everything from finding a venue, helping with invitations, decorations, she was basically my wedding planner. She's been a god send these last few months.
I turned my gaze back to the floor length mirror and ran my hands down the front of my dress. I wasn't even going to lie I looked stunning. The dress it's self was gorgeous. Strapless with little sleeves that hung down on my arms. Lace covered the length of it with intricate flowery designs. It flared just enough at the waist that made it flow-y. All in all it was the most perfect dress. The moment I laid eyes on it I knew it was the one
(This dress!! I want this so freaking bad even though I'm single as a pringle)
"He's going to start crying when he sees you."
"Is it mean that I want him to?" I laughed as I looked at her through the mirror.
"If he doesn't I'll kick his shin so he will." Olivia joked back.
I turned my eyes back to my reflection as I thought back to the day Knox proposed.
I probably should have seen the signs that he was up to something. We were at my mom's for Christmas and throughout out the day I hadn't noticed everyone whispering to each other. Now I look back on it I could see that I was being distracted by my nieces, Sophie and Charlotte, most of the day. The two kept pleading with me to play with them and then watch a movie. The entire time unknown to me everyone was setting things up.

It was Christmas day so everyone being busy wasn't too weird. But really should have caught my attention was when my mom told everyone to get dressed up for dinner. Usually we just ate in our PJ's, like the year before, but instead she pretty much demanded we all dress up kind of fancy.
Right after dinner before dessert Knox stood up and asked me to go with him somewhere, my mom handing us both our coats. I was too busy drooling at him in a suit to notice that he lead me out into the backyard until I finally noticed all the lights.
Scattered all over the backyard were fairy lights. They hung from the trees and the grass. A path was made through the light snow with lights along the sides. Everything about it was amazing and the effort that went into it.
Knox lead me to a spot that had been pushed down, right beside the fire pit which was going. It wasn't until he grabbed my hands in his and started speaking did it clue in what was happening.
It was all kind of a blur. He was talking about we met and how fast his feelings grew for me. How he never believed he'd find someone he wanted to be with forever. I couldn't stop the water works from coming as he kneeled down and pulled out a ring box.
I was freezing but it didn't even matter in that moment. The man of my dreams was literally kneeling down in front of me about to propose. When he opened the ring box I nearly died right then and there. It was stunning.
(Stunning...that's all I can say.)
When he started to ask me to marry him I didn't even let him finish before I said yes. I grabbed his face and kissed him, almost making him fall over. I couldn't take my eyes off the ring when he slid it on, beyond impressed that he picked it out.
The whole thing was just amazing. It was intimate with my family in the background taking pictures. It was everything I wanted an engagement to be.
Now 7 months later we are minutes away from getting married. It still sounded crazy when I said it.
"I am so happy for you guys." Olivia reached down to squeeze my hand. Olivia has literally become my sister and having her here as one of my bridesmaids meant everything.
"Guys it's time!" Leah suddenly yelling bursting back into the room. Laughing at my friends dramatics I grabbed the sides of my dress as I stepped away from the mirror. It was time.
I followed the two girls out of the room and slowly made my way down the stairs. At the bottom my mom, Annie, Oliver, Lucas and Jackson were waiting, as well as Knox's friend Logan he met in the Marines. Jumping around them were Sophie and Charlotte dressed in the most cutest outfits ever. The two them probably the most excited out of all of us to be the flower girls.

"Honey you look beautiful." My mom was already crying as she came over to give me a hug. "Your father would be so proud of you." She whispered. It took everything in me not to start crying.
This was a moment I use to dread. After we found out about his cancer I couldn't help but fear that he wouldn't be here to walk me down the aisle. And when he passed away I told myself I wasn't ever going to get married because he wouldn't be there to do the one thing dads do on their daughters special day.
But when Knox came into my life he helped me heal. Slowly but surely I've gotten rid of the guilt that it was my fault he died. I've learned to accept that he is gone and that I didn't need to make myself miserable.
But since my dad wasn't here to walk me down the aisle I had asked my two brothers if they would. A lot of tears were involved but of course they said yes. It broke me that he wasn't here for this moment but I knew he would be right beside when I walked down that aisle. And I wouldn't want anyone else but my brothers to give me away.
"I better go check on the groom." Mom pulled away patting at her eyes. She shot me a watery smile before she left through the double doors in front of me.
Next I was hugged by Annie and Oliver, both telling me how excited they were for me. Knox's friend Logan gave me a bright smile joking that he wasn't good enough for me.
Logan was someone it met a few weeks after Knox and I started dating. Him and Knox served in the Marines together for four years. Logan stayed while Knox left the military but recently got out. He's been helping Knox at the hardware store while he figured out what to do. But I personally thought he was only staying around for a certain someone...the same someone who had just walked down the staircase with me. I gave Olivia a little nudge when I noticed the looks between them. Leah and I purposely put them together to walk down the aisle.
Once I had been told by everyone that they were happy for me Leah clapped her hands.
"Okay everyone! Get in line!" She sounded like a drill sergeant as she commanded everyone into positions. Leah and Annie got the girls to settle down for a second before they went out first with the help of Annie. She was there to make sure each girl didn't suddenly take off.
Followed by Olivia and Logan, Leah and Oliver and then finally me and my brothers. Now that I was seconds away from walking down the aisle I felt the nerves kick in. I wasn't entirely sure why I was either. I knew Knox wouldn't leave, he was going to be standing there waiting for me.
"Knox is a very lucky man." Lucas said as he squeezed my arm. On the other side of me Jackson did the same.
"Thank you for walking me down the aisle." I said, my voice thick.
"Anything for our baby sis." Jackson sent me a grin but I could see the glassiness of his eyes as well.
"If he hurts you in any way Aub you let us know."
"Yeah we will be there with baseball bats." They both said with serious looks.
I let out a choked laugh and nodded.
"I will."
"Love you." They each said. I didn't trust my voice so instead I sent them a small smile.
Seconds later the wedding march started. The double doors opened and Sophie, Charlotte and Annie walked out. Slowly everyone filed out until it was my turn.
Taking a deep breath I tightened my hold on my bouquet. Giving them a smile and a nod we started for the double doors.
We walked like we had practiced a few days ago until we came around the corner to where the real aisle was. As soon as I turned the corner I met eyes with Knox. I could see his eyes raking up and down my dress before he sucked his bottom lip between his teeth.
As I walked I saw his shoulders shake and Logan reached out to pat his back. My words earlier with Olivia came to mind making me smile.
As I neared I felt a slight breeze pick up and brush across my cheeks. My heart sputtered as I swore it felt like fingers grazing my cheeks. A tear ran down my face and my heart exploded. I was right, my dad was here.
It only took a moment for me to finally reach Knox. My brothers leaned and pressed a kiss to each of my cheeks before stepping back and shaking Knox's hand.
As they disappeared to take a seat all I could see was Knox. The man who changed my world in a matter of days. The man who taught me to accept loss and grow from it. The man who loved me with his whole heart and who stole mine the moment we met.
Our hands clasped each other we gave each other a grin. I had finally found my soulmate and the person I owed it all to was my dad.
