《Boyfriend for Christmas》Chapter 40....

"Yes we are just about to leave."

"Make sure you leave soon because traffic on the freeway is getting bad." My mom rattled off. I held the phone away from my ear as she kept going on about us leaving so we can get there in time for dinner.

"Mom." I interrupted her mind rant about the forecast predicting snow. "I need to get going."

"Okay sorry. I'll see you guys in a few hours. Love you and be careful."

"We will. Love you too." Finally getting my mom off the phone I tossed it on the bed to finish packing.

"Ready to go?" I was asked as I slid the last Christmas present in my suitcase. Standing upright I turned and grinned at my amazing boyfriend.

"Yeah just need to zip it up."

Knox crossed the room and came up behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist and planting a kiss to the side of my temple.

"Excited to go home and see your family."

"Yeah it's been a little while." Its been a good 5 months since I last saw the family for my birthday. We were suppose to go to thanksgiving but a huge storm came and made it practically impossible to drive so instead Knox, Olivia and I stayed home and had one ourselves. But now it was finally Christmas time and all three of us were heading to stay with my mom for a few days, just like last year.

It has been exactly a year since Knox and I met. A whole year since I asked him to be my fake boyfriend. It was crazy to think its been a whole year already. Ever since the day Knox asked me out for real things have been amazing.

We decided to take it a bit slow at first to see if what we actually felt was real and not part of the whole Christmas excitement. He took me out on cute dates, made me dinner. He would even come to my work to drop off flowers or to take me out to lunch. Knox became known around my office as the 'sweet hunk'.

When he first showed up asking for me almost every girl in the place was drooling and wondering what a guy like him was doing in our office. It was not everyday a guy like Knox came in and the fact he was there for me made it even better. As soon as he left practically everyone was coming by to ask who he was and how I found him.

The two of us decided to leave out the part about our fake dating plan if anyone asked us how we met. We stayed with the story that we met at his family's hardware store, and kept the rest as a secret between us. Every time someone asked how we met we would send each other a look and grin.

We quickly learned that what we felt for each other wasn't fake. In a matter of two months we said 'I love you' and spent most of our time together when neither of us were working.

After the New Year things got busy for the both of us at work. I ended up getting the promotion I'd been working towards for so long. I now am the head of the interns and can even now pitch ideas to the board directly. It was a lot of work at first trying to balance the new position but I loved the work.

As for Knox right after we put the website live the hardware store starting gaining more attention. More and more people came in for things they needed instead of going to the Home Depo a bit aways. He even started getting online orders which meant he had to expand the business more.

Even with they both of us spending a lot of time at work we still called each other every night and every weekend we hung out, I even helped out at the hardware store whenever I could. We would even go on double dates with Leah and Oliver.

As for those two they were currently away on their honeymoon. Leah literally FaceTimed me right after on Christmas to tell me all about it. Even though they got engaged on Christmas they didn't get married until a few weeks ago. With football and Leah being a wedding photographer it was a busy few months. So they waited until November and then decided to do a Christmas honeymoon. I for one was super jealous because right now she was currently laying on a beach in Fiji while I was here freezing my ass off with the cold.

Oliver and Knox hit it off really well. They have literally become best friends and Oliver even had Knox come to the football practices to help out once in awhile. I hadn't known until I saw Knox actually play with the college guys that he was actually good. Like really really good.

Another thing that changed since we met was Olivia. She graduated earlier this year, with all Honors of course. Everyone came to the graduation, and when I mean everyone I mean; my mom, Jackson, Lucas, Annie, Sophie, Charlotte, Leah and Olivier. The moment she got up on stage all the guys had blow horns and embarrassed the shit out of her. She may have said she hated it but the grin on her face said otherwise.

Once she graduated she decided she wanted to go to Dartmouth but not for what she originally wanted to do. Instead she's going to take culinary classes there. She wanted to go to be close to her parents but at the same time do something she loved.

She actually spent most of the summer staying with my mom and helping run the bakery. My mom of course was delighted to have her stay and work at the bakery. My mom took Olivia under her wing and treated her like her own daughter. It was something I knew Olivia needed and appreciated. So currently Olivia was home for winter break from college and excited to head back to my mom's for the holiday.

"We should probably hit the road before your mom calls again." If I didn't let her know we were on the road in a few minutes she would definitely be calling again. "Liv's downstairs waiting."

"Kay I'm ready." Knox planted another kiss at my temple and gave me a squeeze before he untangled himself from me and grabbed my suitcase.

While he grabbed the bags and took them downstairs I grabbed my purse and phone and texted my mom that were finally leaving. As I locked the house up behind us I took a second to look back at it.

Oh yeah there was one other thing that happened this year....Knox and I moved in together. After 7 months of dating he nervously asked me if I'd like to move in and of course my answer was yes. So in a matter of a week I had boxed up my apartment and moved all my stuff into Knox's house.

We decided to stay in Knox's parents house for the time being. It was already paid off and it was the perfect home. Later we would decide if we wanted to buy a house together but for now it was ours.

The fact that I now lived with Knox still blew me away. Neither of us thought a year ago that this is where we would be. Happy, in love, and living together.

Getting in Knox's truck he reached over and placed his hand on my thigh. I looked over at him and just like a year ago I felt my heart beat faster. I loved this man. I had absolutely no regrets making that ad last Christmas because without it I wouldn't have met the love of my life. And honestly that was the best Christmas present I could have ever gotten.
