I was over at the Rez today but we'd meet my brothers and Bella soon at the clearing where the fight will be held in 2 days.

I got a text this morning that Edward's going to stay out of the fight because Bella wants him with us. I swear he's such a pushover sometimes. I mean I thought it was just going to be me, Bella and Seth, but I guess not. Something about the only way to protect Bella is for Edward to be with her....uhm hello! Most powerful hybrid here!

But anyways, I told Jacob about it and I knew he wanted to comment something about the idea of Edward staying with us but he kept it to himself. I too wanted to ask Jacob if he would stay with me but I know how much he wants to kill those newborns so I can't be selfish and make him stay. And besides, Sam wouldn't let him.

Jacob, Seth and I are meeting the others now.

Jacob held my hand and Seth walked aside me as we met up with my siblings and Bella, "You're not fighting? What did you pull a muscle or something?" Jacob teased.

I elbowed him slightly, "Jake"

"He's doing it for me okay." Bella explained.

"Whatever. Just tell us the plan." Jacob ordered. I too waited for my brothers to explain to us.

"This field will give us an advantage for the battle. We need to lure the newborns with Bella's and Avalei's scent. But it needs to end here."

"Edward, Avalei and I are going to a campsite. Even if he carries me or Avalei, they'll still pick up our scents." Bella explained. I know where this is going. And I'm not sure if I like it.

"Your wolf stench however, is revolting." Edward insulted Jacob.

"Dude you really don't want to start comparing stinks" Jacob answered back.

"What he means is that your scents will mask ours, if you carry us." I explained to Jacob.

"Done." Jacob quickly agreed.

"This is not a good idea." Edward mumbled.

"Edward, they won't want to go near their, odor." Jasper included.

"Okay let's just try it." Bella said while stepping up to Jacob. But before Jacob picked her up he spoke up, "Wait, Avalei" he then looked down at me. I understood what Bella wanted.

"Carry Bella, Seth will carry me." I issued.

"Why doesn't Bella go with Seth, and Jacob carry you?" Edward questioned.

"Because as much as I want Jacob to carry me, I'm smaller than Bella. No offense" I said confidently. But inside I felt a little sad.

"Avalei" Jacob said again. I looked at him, releasing my hand from his grip.

I smiled slightly, "Its okay Jake. We'll see you back here." I then watched as Jacob picked Bella up bridal style and to be honest I did feel a little jealous but I hid it greatly.

"Ode wolf coming up" Jacob said.

"Run" Edward ordered him. Jacob took one last look at me then took off, disappearing into the woods carrying Bella.

"Avalei, you guys go too." Jasper ordered. I nodded and went over to Seth and got on his back.

"You ready?" Seth asked as he held onto my legs and I wrapped my arms around his shoulders.

"Yeah. Let's go." I said and with that, Seth also ran in another direction.

I was a little bummed that I had to carry Bella and leave Avalei behind for Seth to carry her but I guess she is a perfect size for Seth to carry her. And Bella doesn't really know Seth too well either.

Though, I know Avalei felt a little sad that I had to carry Bella so I'd have to make it up to her later. And make sure my old self doesn't make me say anything or do anything stupid again.

I stopped running after awhile to talk to Bella.

"So you gonna ask me to sit out of the fight too? Or don't you care about my safety." I joked.

"Of course I'd care, but you'd say no."

"I won't have a choice anyways. Since I let Sam be alpha male, I gotta live with the shots that he calls."

"Since you let Sam be alpha?" Bella questioned.

"I didn't want to be in a pack, let alone be its leader." I explained to her.

"Wow, Chief Jacob." Bella complimented.

"Opted out. But every choice has its consequences. Some more than others." Wait what am I saying?

"Don't start. Everybody makes choices, you're gonna have to accept mine."

"You can love more than one person at a time. I've seen it. With Sam, Emily, and Leah." Okay what am I saying?!

"Well, I'm not a wolf. I can't imprint." Okay imprint. Avalei. Remember Avalei Jacob.

"It has nothing to do about imprinting Bella. It's about feelings. And I know you feel something for me. I can sense how I make you feel, physically. I make you nervous." I smirked and started leaning in. What is wrong with me! Why can't I stop myself! Jacob, you have Avalei!

That's when Bella stopped anything else from happening, "Jake."

"Don't worry, I promised I wouldn't kiss you again until you asked." I won't kiss her again because I have Avalei! What is wrong with me?!

"You're gonna be keeping that promise for awhile chief. Besides, you have Avalei remember?" Bella finished. The rest of the run was silent.

That's when it finally clicked to me that I was me again. That was exactly what I didn't want to happen! Okay I don't know what just happened but I really didn't want to say those things. I can't hurt Avalei again...

Seth ran until about halfway to the mountain, we were only testing this theory out so we weren't exactly going up the mountain yet. Just a little bit up then go back to the clearing.

He ran for awhile until a little bit after we were heading back, he paced himself to a walk.

"So why'd you choose me over Jacob to carry you? I mean I thought for sure you were going to go with him." Seth started the conversation.

"I know it's just that, Bella would've been a little tall for you and Jacob and her already have that bond. No offense, if you two were paired together, it'd be sort of awkward." I giggled a bit.

That made him smile, "So you're saying I'm weak and awkward." Seth smirked.

"I didn't mean it like that. You're not weak, you're as strong as Jake, and you're not awkward, Bella is. It's just-Ugh I don't know." I groaned burying my face into his neck in frustration.

I lifted my head again, gaining my composure, "I guess this is another time where I put others before myself" I then rested my chin on Seth's shoulder.

"You gotta stop doing that. I mean yeah it's nice sometimes, but you should also do more for yourself. You deserve that much because of your acts of goodness." Seth smiled, I smiled slightly too. I should do more for myself.

"Aren't you at least a bit jealous? You know, after what happened the last time they were alone." Seth suddenly asked. That struck memories.

"I am, but I know I shouldn't be. I mean Bella has Edward, and Jacob promised me he wouldn't hurt me or do anything like that again. And I trust him....Why? Does he think of her sometimes?" I asked Seth curiously.

"He thinks of you like all the time besides patrol stuff and Sam's orders but he has slipped a few times about Bella's safety and Edward being wrong for her and all that. But it's really nothing to worry about." Seth reassured.

"Thanks Seth."

After awhile, it was silent, we were almost back at the clearing because I could smell Edward, Bella and Jacob's scents. Seth then asked me a serious question.

"Avalei, you think I'm going to find my imprint?"

That took me by surprise but I smiled a bit, "Seth, you will find your imprint someday. It might not be soon, but the time will come. I mean expect the unexpected right? Check out me and Jake for instance. Who knew a hybrid and wolf would end up together. Especially a hybrid who's apart of a family of vampires." That made both of us chuckle a bit.

I sighed, "Seth, anyone would be lucky to have you as their soulmate. Again, you just have to wait till the time comes. And it will." I smiled at him.

He too smiled, "Thanks Avalei."

"And besides, no one can resist my little brother's cute face." I cooed him while pinching his cheeks.

He blushed, "Ughhh Avalei." I giggled.

I then stopped pinching his face as I saw the others in view back at the clearing.

Once we reached the others, Seth stopped as I kissed his cheek, "Thanks Seth" and I got off his back, he nodded and smiled.

I then went over to Jacob and hugged him. He was happy to see me too.

Jasper soon came back, "All I picked up was wolf stench. No Bella or Avalei." I heard him say to Edward, though Edward had a frustrated look on his face. "This will work Edward." Jasper added.

"Great" Edward replied solemnly. I rolled my eyes at his grouchiness. Does he have to be such a perfectionist of everything? It will work...I hope.
