《Avalei Cullen (A Twilight Saga Fanfic)》Ch 17: Wants

We were all in the living room, the couples stood next to each other and I sat down on the couch, not really wanting to be involved only because I have my reasons for both answers and I'm not sure which one to say out loud...
Bella and Edward soon came down the stairs, stopping at the bottom step.
"You all know what I want. And I know how much I'm asking for. The only way I could think of to be fair is to just vote." Bella stated.
"You don't know what you're doing." Edward mumbled in but Bella shut him up. I heard some chuckles but I stayed silent, thinking of what to say.
"Alice?" Bella said first.
"I already consider you my sister. Yes." Alice putted her vote in, going up to hug Bella. She thanked him.
"I vote yes. It would be nice to not want to kill you all the time." Jasper confessed.
"I'm sorry. I'm really sorry to both of you, for how I've acted. And I'm really grateful that you'd go off and save my brother. But this is a life I wouldn't have chosen for myself. And I wish there had been someone to vote no for me. So no." Rosalie politely cast her vote in. I looked up to see Bella's face dropped a little.
"I vote hell yeah! We can pick a fight with these Volturis some other way." Emmett boasted as he hugged Bella, picking her up and twirled her once around.
"I already consider you a part of the family. Yes." Mom voted.
Dad went to walk over to look at Edward, thinking something.
That made Edward frustrated, "Why are you doing this to me? You know what this means."
"You've chosen not to live without her, which leaves me no choice. I won't lose my son again." Carlisle finished.
I looked down, knowing they'd all turn to me next. And I was right. I placed my face into my hands, hiding the frustration within my brain.
"Avalei? You're the last one. What's your vote?" Alice asked.
I looked up, "Do you really still need me to vote? Everyone already said yes, besides Rosalie. Why does mine still matter?"
Bella looked at me, hope in her eyes, "I still need to here it. To make it official."
Everyone's eyes were glued to me as they waited for my answer. "No."
That shocked everyone, Bella especially, "What? Why?"
I looked at her straight, "You wanted my vote and so I vote no. I'm sorry. But if it makes it feel any better, the majority ranks out as yeses so like I said, my vote didn't really matter. " I then ran out of the house to have some alone time to myself. To think.
"He wants to talk." Edward says calmly. I didn't know what to feel at that point since Jacob still hasn't reached out to me in almost 2 weeks. Now 2 weeks without seeing your imprint really takes a toll on you. Hence the change of attitude.
Edward parked the car on the side of the road as we walked into the woods, following Jacob's scent.
I trailed behind Bella and Edward, looking down, because again, I didn't know what to do. I mean one side of me wants to just go up to Jacob and kiss him, but the other side wants to just break down and cry because of everything.

We finally made it to Jacob, a couple feet away from him as he stood on a broken tree trunk.
"So you're still alive for now?" Jacob asked Edward. Hearing his voice sent a shiver down my spine.
"He thinks its me keeping you away." Edward calmly.
I asked Edward.
"You stay the hell out of my head. Only Avalei can do that" Jacob threatened to Edward, distracting me from my telepathy talk with Edward. I soon felt his eyes on me, though, I refused to look up.
"Jacob, I know you have something to say to me, but I want to say something to you first. If that's alright." Edward started, I'm guessing Jacob nodded or something, "Thank you. Thank you for keeping Bella alive with Avalei, when...I didn't" That made me look up at the scene before me. Feeling the tension between them.
"No, you didn't. And it wasn't for your benefit, trust me." Jacob replied back.
"I'm still grateful. But I'm here now. And I'm not gonna leave her side till she orders me away." Edward finished.
"We'll see." Jacob sternly said. Edward went back to Bella when Jacob jumped down from the tree trunk, stepping a bit closer to us. "Hey, my turn to talk. I'm here to remind you about a key point in the treaty." Oh no, I know where this is going.
"I haven't forgotten." Edward replied.
"What key point?" Bella asked.
"If any of them, bites a human, the truce is over." Jacob warned.
"But if I choose it, it has nothing to do with you." Bella argued, Edward stood quietly beside her. I still just watched from afar.
"No, no I won't let you"Jacob got angrier, "You're not going to be one of them Bella."
"Its not up to you." Bella retorted.
"You know what we'll do to you, I won't have a choice." Jacob informed, getting upset now.
"Bella please come." Edward tried to talk Bella to leave it.
"Wait, is he going to hurt me? Read his mind." She asked Edward but he refused to tell her. She then turned to me.
I sighed, "Bella, the treaty has been set for over a hundred years. Its their rules."
Bella then went over to Jacob, she was going to try and reason with him, "Jake..." I looked up at them, Jacob looked at Bella the same way he looked at her that night Bella left. Hurt.
"I love you..."She started, he took in a breath, letting it out shakily. I felt a stronger pain in my heart now, hearing her say that. That should be me, but now...i don't know.
"But please...don't make me choose." Bella started again. The amount of sadness, guilt and pain was excruciating.
"Cause it'll be him...it's always been him" Bella continued. This is what we all get when she didn't listen to me when I said not to play with his heart and lead him on. It only made things much worse.
Jacob's face literally broke my heart, "B-Bella." She then started backing away from him, stepping back with Edward, "Goodbye Jacob." He said but Jacob didn't let it go, he grabbed Bella's hand, "No you don't speak for her." Edward then threw Jacob making him phase in mid air and get in a attacking stance.
Edward guided Bella to the trail back to the car, "Avalei, Bella get out of here." But I didn't listen.

Jacob started to run towards Edward but I immediately went in between them. Stopping Jacob a few feet away from me, "Stop! Stop!" I yelled, glancing at both of them. Bella also came to stand next to me, "You can't hurt each other without hurting us."
We all calmed down a bit, I looked over at Bella, giving her a small understanding smile, then went over to Jacob, "Jake, look at me." He was glaring at Edward but quickly looked at me. "Look I know you don't like the idea of all of this but-as much as you love her...and as much as that hurts me...you have to understand. Its what she wants."
His eyes went soft, realizing that I was right. As much as it hurts him, he just has to deal with it...just like I do.
I saw his big wolf eyes start to water, I noticed mine was as well. I felt his hurt and I still wasn't over the complicated love triangle between us.
He then glanced back at Bella, then back at me, before turning around and running more into the woods.
"Jake." I whispered as a tear went down my face.
"Avalei, come on, its going to be dark soon." Edward informed. I didn't turn around to face them, I just continued to stare off into the direction Jake ran off to.
"You guys go. I'm gonna go hunt." I lied, still letting my tears fall. And with that, I found myself running to who knows where. After a while, I found myself at Bella and Edward's meadow. I didn't care anymore, I just broke down and cried.
Why am I crying? Maybe the imprint bond is a lot stronger than I thought. I could feel Jacob's pain. It only added to my own about all that has happened. I've always tried to act strong but secretly, I cant take it.
I stayed there for probably 2 hours. One hour consisted of me crying, the other consisted of me composing myself to stop.
I suddenly realized that I needed to see him again. Just to make sure things between us are somewhat okay.
With that, I ran, following Jacob's scent.
I tried to reach him using my telepathy.
It wasn't until after a few seconds, I heard him answer back.
After a few more seconds, I found him, still in his wolf form, staring into the waters of the river.
"Jacob?"
He turned towards me, tears stained his fur on his face. I quickly went up to him, and hugged him. I felt him tense up a bit but then cuddled into me more, engulfing me into his fur.
"I'm sorry what happened back there Jake. I know how much you don't want Bella to change and trust me, I don't like the idea of it either."
I pulled away from him, and sat down, facing him looking down as I played with a strand of grass, "Bella made us take a vote a few days ago to be fair that we'd have a say if whether or not she can turn into a vampire..." Jacob growled a little at that. I petted his head to reassure him, "Most of my family said yes, besides Rosalie."
I laughed a little at his comment, "Rosalie has her reasons. After everyone voted, it all came down to me. Now I told them they didn't need my vote since the majority of them were already yeses so it wouldn't matter what I said. But, Bella being the stubborn one, wanted to hear it."
I raised my head to look up at him, "No, I didn't. I voted no." that made him confused.
"Because I have my reasons too." I stated.
"Jake, there was a reason why I chose to sacrifice myself to turn instead of Bella." I started.
"Remember when I told you about James? The vampire who turned me?" He nodded, "Well when Edward came to save us, I told him to help Bella first, because I had minor injuries then. But when Edward was distracted, James bit me before he bit Bella. My family finally made it to us, Rosalie attended to me, and Alice went to Bella. Carlisle also came to me, examining the bite and he said it wasn't too late to save us, they just needed to suck the venom out of our system." I explained but Jacob growled at that sucking out blood part.
"But I knew that only one of us would be truly saved in time. Since I was bitten on the neck, I knew the venom was already going to reach my heart quicker than Bella's wrist bite. As much pain as I was in, I knew Bella was in much more because James broke her leg. So right there, I made the decision to sacrifice my human life so that they could save Bella instead. So that she could live her human life longer. "
"Yeah I did, but I guess it happened sooner than I thought it would. I guess my ability to put others before myself ended a little differently." I smiled a bit.
"That and...because of you." I said looking into his eyes, petting his furry face.
"Because I know how you'd feel and react to when she says she wants to turn. And I was right." Thinking back on earlier today.
"Of course Jake, you're my imprint. Ever since that night we kissed and when I left to give you your space, you're all I've been thinking about. I think my personality and attitude has changed a bit because we were away from each other for too long." I admitted shyly.
"Yeah."
"How is Seth anyway? And Leah?"
"I do too Jake...but Bella-"
"You promise?" I asked, he then stood up, I watched him walk behind a few trees. After a minute, he came back, in some jean shorts and in human form.
When he reached me, he held a hand out for me to grab as he pulled me up to stand. He wrapped his arms around my waist, making my hands rest on his chest, our eyes locked.
He then took one of his hands to move my hair away from my face, revealing the bite scar. He looked at it as he gently traced it with his thumb.
I closed my eyes for a bit as he did that, taking in his soft touch, then opening my eyes to stares into his again. He cupped my neck with one hand, the other still rested on my waist, pulling me closer.
"I promise" he whispered as he leaned in to kiss me.

The Tower Must Fall - Combat Gardener
If you're interested in a conceptual, ground-up rewrite leave a comment and tell me what you loved about it. I've got a pretty good idea of what everyone hated so there's no need for expounding on that. Gardener? A support class? This can't be! What was all my hard work for? Forget this world. Forget the System. Even if I'm a lowly support class, I'll take on the Tower and take them all down! Since the System appeared one hundred years ago, humanity has been divided into three: combat classes, intellectual classes, and support classes. Assigned at the moment of high school graduation, one's class determines their future. Rowan wanted the most out of life. A combat class, an intellectual class, either would be fine. When he is instead assigned a support class, Gardener, he notices the System is completely rigged against support classes. Refusing to give up on his dream of realizing his future by his own terms, Rowan challenges the Tower, the seat of the System and home of the Hero-King, in hopes of bringing the entire System to its knees. Season One complete. Permanent Hiatus, Pending Rewrite. Important notes: -LitRPG fantasy -Rowan is not perfect. He's got flaws, emotions, and personal issues to work through. If you want a perfect, overpowered MC who makes the right decision every time, this is NOT the work for you. -This story opens with a negative situation and an emotional growth arc for the main character. Please don't review until chapter 30 because the arc is not complete until that chapter. (Chapters are short, that's an average RR book's chapter 10) -No harem, no rape, no isekai, no romance -Questions? Please ask!
