《Mama Nootmare (A fanfic with the bad sanses)》Chapter 13 - Surprise Date

Dust POV:
I yawned. I was watching Horror and Cross play Skylanders(I know it's an old series of games but I love it.). It was the first one. It was a fun game. They were on the water levels. I stretched.
"Want a turn, Dust?" Cross offered me.
"Eh, sure." I took the controller from him. I switched the Skylander Cross was playing as for one I liked better.
As me and Horror finished defeating one of the bosses in a level and completing it, Nightmare walked in.
"How are you guys doing in here?" He asked.
"Good!" Cross replied. I looked over at Nightmare. His hand and wrist were getting better, slowly.
"Night!" We heard Error's glitchy voice as he came up near Nightmare.
"Yeah?"
"I don't know how to make the stupid-food-thing." He said.
"Okay I'll help." The pair of adults walked off.
We continued our game for a bit. Then Cross said
"Do you guys think they'd be cute together?" We turned to look at him. He looked back. "What? They're both destroyers. A god of destruction and a destroyer for negativity. It seems good." He explained.
"So? If it'll happen, it'll happen." Horror said. I agreed with him.
"Can't we try?" Cross asked.
"What Horror already said." I replied, starting the next mission in our game. Cross walked up to us, sat beside us, and stared. We looked at him, confused.
"Please?" He asked, starting to use his puppy eyes. I looked away. Cross was very good at sad puppy eyes. I saw Horror trying to resist him.
"Fine." Horror said, defeated
"Look at me, Dust!" I continued to look away. I felt Cross hug me. I turned to him a bit. I saw his sad eyes. 'Resist Dust. Resist!' I thought. He was too adorable. The little four year old was too sweet.
"Fine." I finally said with a sigh of defeat.
"Haha!" Cross said triumphantly. "Now we must recruit Killer!" I stood up. We turned off the console and followed Cross out. He led us to Killer's room where he was stabbing the crap out of a dummy.
"Hi?" He asked as we arrived. I walked up to the dummy and stabbed it to. It healed itself after each stab.
"This is a nice dummy." I commented.

"Anyway...we were going to do something to try and get Nightmare and Error together. Wanna join?" Cross asked.
"You know what? Yeah." Killer said. "Another parent would be cool."
"Sweet!" Cross exclaimed.
"So do you have an idea, Cross?" I asked.
"Sort of. It's like a little surprise date. We'll have to pull it of tomorrow. I need to organize what to eat though. Any ideas? Can anyone cook?" Cross asked
"We're five Cross. Nightmare wouldn't let us by any means." I said.
"Convince him to order food?" Horror suggested.
"Yeah. I can use my puppy eyes again." Cross said with a devious face.
"So? What's your plan Criss-Cross?" Killer asked.
Cross smiled as he began explaining his plan to get the two destroyers together. It was smart, especially for a kid.
~The Next Evening~
Nightmare POV:
The kids seemed to be setting up some sort of surprise. They wanted me to order food and then they banned Error and I from the kitchen for the day. I decided to inspect my broken hand to take my mind off it for a moment. It still hurt really bad. The cracks from the positivity arrow's positivity were slowly fading. It stung if I so much as light pressed on it. If I tried to hold something it stung so much.
"Your arm doing okay?" Error asked. He must've seen me looking at it.
"Yeah. Still stings." I replied.
"Do you know what the children are doing?" Error asked
"Nope. They just told me to stay out of the kitchen." I replied.
Dust teleported into the living room. He had teleporting more recently.
"Dinners ready!" He said.
"But it's...already made?" I asked.
"Just follow me to your table or, whatever." We looked at each other than got up to follow him. He led back to the dining room/kitchen. I noticed there was a big black tarp acting as a curtain, blocking our sight to the kitchen area. Me and Error sat down at the table. They'd made it into a little table, where we weren't too far from one another. I put my hands on my lap. My injured one atop my good one.
"Are you sure you didn't plan this?" Error asked, his voice seemed to be glitching a bit more than usual.

"I didn't! I have no idea what they're doing!" I defended. We sat in silence. 'Do they...want us to get together? Me and...Error...together.' I felt my face heat up at the thought of me and Error together.
"Are okay, Night?" Error asked.
"Y-yeah. I j-just-uh-thinking about-I don't know." I put my face onto my good hand. I was too flustered to speak. I took a deep breath and blurted "I was thinking about how the kids want us to get together!" I didn't move my face. I heard Error glitch and then crash. I looked up. He had a yellow blush spreading across his face and he had a stuck, confused expression. I giggled.
Killer came by right after Error rebooted and was calming back down. He gave us two plates. Mine had the food I'd ordered for myself and Error's had the food I'd ordered for him. He was glaring at it.
"Something wrong, Err?" I asked
"I'd prefer chocolate." He said.
"You need to eat other things than chocolate." I commented. Then I saw a face of realization dawn on him. I smirked.
"Err?" He asked. I chuckled.
"Do you not like it? I could call you Erry, Glitchy, Gli-"
"Okay! Enough!" Error shouted. I burst out laughing when seeing how flustered he got. "Sh-shut u-up you jer-erk!" He glitched out a lot as he said that. I slowed my laughing down to a giggle.
"I'm sorry, Error." I told him after he'd calmed down. He still had a yellow blush spread across his face, much more prominent than before. I started eating my food. I noticed Error wasn't eating his.
"Is there something wrong with it, Error?" I asked.
"No. I'm just gonna eat some chocolate afterwards." He replied.
"Just eat some of it. The kids worked hard to make this little restaurant, I think they'd feel bad if you didn't eat anything." I told him.
"Stop guilt tripping me. I don't want it. Why'd you get me it?"
"You only eat chocolate. Try something savory for once." I put my fork down. I reached over and grabbed Error's fork and picked up some of his food with it.
"What're you-" He was cut off as I shoved the food in his mouth. He glared at me but took the food as I pulled the fork out of his mouth. I started giggling again.
"You act like Cross when he doesn't want to eat something." I remarked. That was met with another glared. I picked up more of his food with his fork and waited for him to open his mouth again. He was being stubborn and didn't. Suddenly he grabbed my hand and shoved the fork in his mouth. I looked at our touching hands, then back at him. He was touching me. And not crashing. He noticed and pulled his hand away. I did the same. He took the fork out of his mouth and looked at me.
"You touched me...and you didn't crash." I said.
"I-uh..." Error looked down.
"Why can you touch me?" I asked. That was the only answer I wanted at that moment. He muttered something I didn't hear. "Error." I said.
"I don't know." He said, louder. "Maybe it's because we've known each other and have been friends for literal centuries?"
I just...stared. He...could touch me. But would he love me? What?! Why am I thinking that? No. Stop it Nightmare.
"Do you think..." I started, Error looked over at me. We stared into each other's eyes. I leaned my head on my good hand. "Do you think we'll ever be more than f-friends?" I felt my face heat up as I said the last words. I also saw a yellow blush spread over his face. It felt as though the world, or at least my world, had stopped to wait for his reply.
"Y-yeah. I think we could." He replied. I smiled. I heard a squeal from the direction of the tarp. Followed by an "I TOLD YOU!!" From what sounded like Cross's voice. I just smiled more.
Killer POV:
"I TOLD YOU!!" Cross yelled. I covered my skull where my ears would be.
"Calm down!" I hissed. "You'll ruin their moment!" He covered his mouth.
We peeked back out of the tarp and saw the pair still talking. They both were blushing. I guess Cross was right. A pair of destroyers would work well together. And the fact that they already knew each other helped. We just watched. It was nice to see them enjoying each other's company. Let's hope this works out.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
