《The Island Princess (Edmund Pevensie x Reader)》12

I left my room to join the rest of the crew. I see them sitting in a circle around the bonfire with a few wingmen listening.

I went down to see what was happening.

I sat down next to Lucy and examined everyone's facial expression in the circle. They seem to be serious.

"So where's the next place we should look?" asked Peter, who was talking to the wingmen's leader.

"What's going on?" I whispered to Lucy.

"According to their leader, the last place they've located the Island Queen was in an island after the Dark Islands." she explained.

"What's the name?" I asked her.

"There's no name? What's that supposed to mean?" Peter asked the wingman.

"Maybe it's in the map." Susan suggested.

The professor brought out the map and examined it.

A confused expression formed on his face as he examined it again.

"There is no island after the dark islands." The professor announced.

"What do you mean?" Peter said as he reached for the map.

Once he had a hold of it, he examined it and the same confused expression was drawn on his face. "Impossible.". He then looked at the leader of the wingman leader. "Are you sure you saw her there?" he asked.

I then remembered when I was on the ship and the Wingman Cave just appeared on the map once we reached a close range... like it was hidden. Maybe the island they're talking about is also hidden.

"May I have a look?" I asked Peter as I reached for the map. He passed it to me.

I examined the map. There really wasn't an island.

"Professor," I called, "Do you remember that time on the ship when I told you an island just appeared on the map?"

The old man thought a bit, "It must be like this cave. Hidden from the map." he explained

"I don't get it." said Lucy. We all looked at her.

"If all this is happening at the mainland and there was an Island Queen and Princess, why aren't they doing anything about it?".

Her question got all the brains in the room thinking. What she was saying was true.

It was silent for a bit more.

"We'll find out when we find her." Susan answered, hoping her answer was satisfactory enough.

It wasn't for me.

"Why do we have to look for her?" I answered. "She could be anywhere. It's so impractical that we're hopping from island to island when she could be doing the same thing."

"It's a wild goose chase." Edmund remarked.

"We're not only wasting time, but energy." I stated.

Everyone in the campfire weren't saying anything, but judging from their facial expressions, there were agreeing with me silently.

I looked at Peter who seemed to be having trouble looking for an answer. I know that he knew I was right.

"Maybe it's not all that impractical." claimed Tigris.

"We'll hop from island to Island and ask questions. What they've seen. We'll also be able to conclude how bad the situation is becoming."

"That's right!" exclaimed Susan. "We get to observe and get answers at the same time!"

We all looked over at Caspian who looked conflicted about everything; we all knew every passing second mattered to him because every second, he was away from his kingdom. Only his advisor was keeping the kingdom in shape.

"So now you're planning to travel all of Narnia?" he remarked apathetically.

"Sort of." Edmund shrugged. "And, that was kind of predictable because we weren't given any specific directions.

Caspian stayed quiet, debating whether to let us or not.

He sighed. "Fine. But you guys owe me."

"Thank you." said Peter.

. . .

The crew and wingmen were fishing on the shallow waters of the cave for dinner.

Professor Cornelius, Lucy, Susan, Peter and Edmund were on the ship talking about the next destination.

Since I had nothing to do, I decided to help the crew with fishing. I didn't want to talk to Edmund yet. Heck, I didn't even want to stay in the same area. I still didn't know what to do or what to say.

I walked over the crew and observed what they were doing. They had a net laid out on the bed of the water, holding up three ends to build a wall. The wingmen then gathered together and used their "magic" on the water, making the currents go on the direction of the net, catching every fish within a five-feet radius.

Why only five feet? Well I've concluded that it's because they didn't want to cause any imbalance or natural problems with the flow of the water. It made sense.

I didn't underestimate five feet and the reason for that was because they were catching a mighty plenty amount of fish.

Something then caught my eye. It was an old man, older than everyone else in the crew, about the same age as the professor, having difficulty trying to carry the net to the men fishing.

I ran over to him and went to pick up the other end of the net. "Let me help you, sir." . I placed the net over my shoulders. The net was pretty big, so there were parts of the net that were still being dragged under the water. The weight of the net was heavy, the strong pull of gravity, times two because of the water didn't help either.

"I... I g-got this... m.... miss." he old man grunted.

"N-no no... I... in-insist" I grunted.

Our sweat was dripping, our shoulders were wet. My dress was once again, wet.

We somehow managed to get the net to the crew. They set it up right away.

I shot them a dirty look. It was enough to catch the attention of everyone fishing.

Once they all had their eyes on me, I looked at the old man and looked back at them.

"Now I'm no Queen or princess but I'm in the position to state my own opinion which is to send the oldest crew member to pick up a net that requires nine people to carry." I retorted.

They looked ashamed and apologetically looked at the poor old man who was sweating like a waterfall.

They nodded their heads.

I walked to the ship and opened my chest, I got a cloth that I'm sure I wouldn't use and went back down. I gave the cloth to the man to dry up.

Don't get me wrong, I knew everyone was putting effort but this was an old man for goodness sake! They were muscular, strong men in groups of nine (plus wingmen) and they send the weakest to do the hardest job. Seriously.

"Bless your kind heart." smiled the old man.

"It was nothing." I smiled back.

I went back up to the ship to get myself dried up... again.

Just as I was about to open the door to my room, I feel someone hold my hand. Reflexes kick in I lock the hand on my wrist, Twist it, causing the person's body to turn, with my feet, I push the person's body down causing that person to fall on their knees.

"Y/N! ITS JUST ME. ITS JUST ME." Edmund shouted in pain.

"Oh my gosh-" I gasped. "Stop sneaking up on me like that! You should've gotten used to the reflexes I have by now!" I exclaim.

I get on my knees to get to his level. Stupid reflexes.

"Edmund are you alright?" I ask him worriedly. "I'm so so so so sorry."

"No no, I shouldn't have snuck up on you like that." He responded.

"Yes. You shouldn't have." I say as I help him get back up on his feet. "What is it? Is something wrong?"

"No." he answered as he dusted himself a bit.

"We need to talk."
