《The Island Princess (Edmund Pevensie x Reader)》11

I was sliding down water-filled tunnels made of stone. The tunnels were steep but the waters were very shallow. It was like I was riding a really steep amusement park water slide.
(A/N: Dunno if that was a thing back then but let's pretend it was ahaha)
I closed my eyes and landed in water. Deeper water. Knee length. I opened my eyes and I saw columns holding the cave together.
I was in a cave within a cave?
I walked further and gasped in astonishment..
(credits to episode)
The cave up top was beautiful, but this one was just majestic.
I saw the wingmen hanging at the top of the cave, they were glowing. Like glow-in-the-dark bats.
"WhOOOooOaAAAAH!" said a voice from behind me.
I followed that voice, ending up in the same place where I landed and I saw Edmund.
"Edmund?" I asked.
"Y/N!" he exclaimed as he hugged me. I was a bit taken aback by his sudden action but I hugged him back anyway.
"How did you end up in here?" he asked me worriedly.
"I just fell in.. what about you?" I asked apathetically.
"I uh-" he rubbed his neck "I jumped in."
I laughed at his idiocy and he laughed with me.
"Come here I have something to show you.." I grabbed his arm and pulled him to that part of the cave.
"Whoa, what is this place?" He asked looking around.
"I think this is where the wingmen live."
I told him.
He looked around the cave in wonder.
Just then, a little wingman came to me and started circling me. It was inspecting me.
"Hey there." I waved at the wingman.
The wingman smiled and waved back at me.
Suddenly, three more wingmen joined the first one. They all circled and inspected me like the first one.
Edmund had a worried look on his face. I looked at him and smiled reassuring him that I was fine.
One wingman then did some kind of circle shaped gesture with it's hand. A ball of water, the size of a golf ball was lifted up into the air, levelling the wingman. I was amazed.
I looked at Edmund. He was just as shocked as I was.
Wingmen seem to have the power of manipulating the water.

I then got an idea.
I called the wingman over, he broke his focus and flied over to my face, I leaned in and whispered in his ear.
"Can you do something for me?" I whispered.
Four wingmen were circling her. I started getting worried. I didn't know what their intentions were, so I decided to just watch.
Just then she whispered something to a wingman. Her eyes were locked on me.
When she was finished. They both giggled and she watched as the wingman gathered the other three wingmen to probably discuss something.
They then giggled mischievously and looked at me.
They all smirked.
I gave them a confused look.
All of the wingmen then formed a line and made water balls with their hands.
We're they going to attack me?!
They zoomed to my direction and started throwing water balls at me. Y/N's laugh filled the whole cave. High-pitched laughs from the wingmen could be heard throughout the cave too. I tried to protect myself with my hands, laughing along with them.
Edmund was being bombarded with water. He was completely drenched in water and all he could do was laugh helplessly.
"Having fun?!" I cracked up. At this point, I was already tearing up.
"Water bombs aren't gonna stop me from attacking you!" Edmund shouted back.
He then splashed big amounts of water at me and at the wingmen. I shielded myself with my hands which, obviously didn't do anything.
I tried to run away to avoid getting even more wet but the water was adding weight on my legs.
I was able to reach a pillar of the cave and tried to hide behind it. I checked behind the pillar to see if I could find Edmund. He wasn't there.
"Edmund?" I called out his name.
All I heard were the echoes that followed my call.
I looked around more to find the four wingmen. They weren't there either.
"Uh... Edmund?" I called out a bit louder, this time getting a bit more worried.
I walked back, being cautious of my surroundings.
Two arms then wrapped around my waist. I jumped and quickly elbowed the figure behind me.
"Geez Y/N it's just me!" I turned around and saw Edmund holding his chest.
"Edmund oh my gosh-" I gasped. I took his hands off his chest to see if I injured him... by accident of course.

"I'm so sorry."
He suddenly pulls me into a hug.
Shocked, I just stand there but was soon able to loosen up and hug him back
"I gotcha." He whispered into my ear.
I was flustered, sweat started forming and my cheeks were burning.
We stand in a hug for what seemed to be like forever. The cave was silent, but the silence only added to the beauty of this moment.
I then quickly collected myself.
"Alright, you win. But are you okay?" I ask him with concern.
"Yeah I'm fine." he says, but he doesn't let go of me.
I look deep into his eyes. This moment felt different. It felt perfect and unreal..
but most of all, it felt absolutely magical. It felt even more magical than any place in Narnia could ever have. He was looking deep into my eyes as well. We were both dripping wet but we didn't care. It seemed like time had stopped just for us.
Then I realized something...
I liked him.
I had feelings for him before, but those were different. Now I was sure of it and wanted to confront him about it... maybe even find out if he feels the same.
"Edmund..." I say, not breaking my gaze. Making sure to keep my eyes on his.
"Hm?" he answered.
"Why are we doing this?"
"Doing what?"
"This. We aren't supposed to do this."
"Why not?"
"Because we aren't-"
I stopped. I wasn't sure whether I really should continue what I was going to say. It might ruin the friendship we have. He was getting more curious by the second.
"We aren't what?" he asked, "Are you okay?"
"Peter called out. I could hear the concern in his voice. It was so loud, I could've sworn the cave shook.
We slowly let go of each other.
"We need to go." I told him.
I ran to the slide where I came from, Edmund quickly followed behind.
A wingman then approached us, blocking the slide.
"No. We can't play anymore." Edmund said reluctantly.
The wingman then pointed to a pile of rocks on our left, but it wasn't just a pile of rocks, there were stone stairs behind it to go back up top.
"Thanks." I say.
Edmund and I walk to the pile of rocks and went up the stone stairs.
As soon as the Dawn Treader was in sight, Peter's head suddenly blocked the view with a very welcoming and very positive vibe.
"Where have you guys been?" Peter asked with his arms crossed.
"Couldn't you tell?" answered Edmund.
"We came from the underground cave."
"And what were you two doing in there?" Peter asked with a more serious expression. I honestly thought he couldn't get any more serious. I was wrong.
Edmund scoffed,"We're sixteen. Must you always have to treat me- no- us like kids? We can handle-"
"I fell in that hole." I interrupted Edmund, while pointing to the hole that sucked me in. I didn't want things to get heated. "Edmund check up on me to see if I was okay.".
"I don't think 'checked up' is quite the right word. You were in there for a pretty long time." Peter scolded us, "and both of you are dripping wet!"
We were too exhausted to answer Peter and argue back. So we just stayed silent.
"Both of you get some rest and dry up." Peter sighed.
Edmund went to the fire with the rest of the crew to talk to Lucy and Susan. I went to the Dawn Treader to get some dry clothes.
I entered my room and opened my chest. I picked the first dress in sight and sat on my bed. Not caring if I got it wet.
I spaced out.
I started thinking of what happened in the cave, his deep gaze, the way he held me, the way we were looking into each others eyes, the way we cared for each other.
I sighed..
Should I tell Edmund about it? Or should I just keep it to myself...

The General Core {The Sphere}
The life cycle in the Sphere is on the brink of collapse because one of its elements, the Dungeons, have been exploited too much by the mortals. The group who created the Sphere already tried and failed with several modifications, because the original computer-like dungeon cores are too inflexible to handle changing approaches. So they try another type of solution – taking souls from other worlds to try to find a solution before the Sphere Cycle breaks down completely. The General was one of the best soldiers of his world, rising from the ranks of a private through Officer School to the highest command with honors. But when his world faced a zombie apocalypse, even that was not enough and he had to make the ultimate sacrifice. Now he is asked for a repeat performance of planning and controlling a dungeon and its spawns in a world that he knows nothing about… But what is the Sphere really? What is that [Xenotic conversion] he has to go through to even enter the Sphere? Something is really strange and he will have to find out what is going on to get to his promised rewards – whatever they will be. Being a soul in a dungeon core means that the General has better chances of finding hints to the truth about the sphere – a knowledge that would help him survive. And no, the sphere is NOT a virtual reality – the key to its secrets is the place where it was physically constructed (Author’s hint). This is a dungeon core story - but there are quite a number of things that I will do differently than common to those stories. 1) I will describe the floors when they are explored, NOT when they are build. Yes, that will mean it will take longer to get to those parts - but I think describing floors both when they are build and when they are explored destroys quite a lot of chances for suspense when adventurers enter the dungeon. After all, if you as the reader already know where the traps are, then you can't really be surprised when the surfacers encounter them. 2) How the world works (and how not) is an integral part of the story, so it will be explained I'm a world-builder first and the Sphere is NOT a regular world (as hinted in the synopsis above). Things will work differently than in your 08/15 default dungeon core stories - as the General and Gunny have already learned in the second arc (and more of that is already scheduled for the next weeks (July/Aug 2019) when the Sky Arrows continue to explore and evaluate that strange dungeon) If you don't like these premises, then I'm sure you'll find a lot of other Dungeon Core stories more to your liking. But if you are interested in more than "Dungeon builds another room and corridor in medieval earth" and are not afraid of a longer and slower story, then go on. I have two more stories in the Sphere, although they both have lower priority than this one: Shaleen the Wanderer (Adventurer, NSFW) (currently on hold after some chapters) Info's on the Sphere (System Docu and Short Stories) (irregular updates when needed) Current Status reports have been moved to a new discord server: https://discord.gg/EaHkXCfm9y
