《The Island Princess (Edmund Pevensie x Reader)》13

We both had taken a pleasurable walk on the quiet parts of the cave. We haven't said a word to each other since the ship, when he called me.
I was filled with anticipation and a nerve-racking sense of nervousness. I already knew he would bring up what happened in the underwater cave, even though I did know what he wanted, I was still nervous.
I wasn't ready to talk about it... not yet.
I shouldn't have brought it up. I should've just kept it to myself until I had enough courage to talk to him about it.
Sunset had hit Narnia. The beautiful traces of the sun, the pick and purple sky was a breathtaking view.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" Edmund said as he sat down on a rock, facing the opening of the cave.
"It really is." I say as I sat down next to him. "Simple things like this couldn't compare to what Narnia has."
"So uh.. about a while ago..." He said as he rubbed his neck.
"What were you saying in the cave?" He spoke, with a more curious tone. His eyes that were facing the sunset seconds ago, were now fixated on me.
This was it.
I'm going to tell him...
I took a deep breath.
Then paused for a brief moment.
"Edmund, I... I like you." I confessed. Fiddling with my fingers. My eyes were looking at everything. Anything. Anything but him. "I just wanted to know how... how you feel... what you feel about... me. Us."
It was silent for a few moments. I finally looked at him to find out why he was so quiet.
The moment my eyes landed on his face, I was able to see his expression. He had the biggest smile and his cheeks were red. Like red red.
"Y/N," He said my name. That alone made me feel butterflies. He chuckled, "You really are clueless.".
Edmund stood up and took my hands. He stood me up gently. We were now standing in front of each other with the sunset behind us, hitting the right features. Our eyes were fixated on each other.
"This whole time," he said, "did you not even have one passing thought that I maybe have liked you too?".
I blushed. Redder than cherries.
"I never got to think about it." I answered. "Why?"
"Because," he said as he cupped my chin gently, "I like you too."
As soon as he finished his sentence, he pulled me into a gentle, but passionate kiss. It was... undescribable.
That very moment, I felt safe. Happy. I was with him and that was all that mattered.
I unknowingly put my hands around his neck and let it hang. One hand of his was cupping my face, the other was holding my waist.

He was perfect in every way. I thought of all the times he's protected me, worried about me, teased me. It all made sense. He did like me.
We pulled away from each other's lips slowly and opened our eyes. A smile formed on both corners of our mouths.
"So does this make you mine?" He asked flirtatiously.
"Maybe." I winked.
He then pouted. It was adorable. He looked like a baby who's favorite toy was just taken away.
"Cut it out Pevensie, you look stupid." I laughed. "Of course this means I'm yours."
"Just call me hottie." he teased, "Pevensie could also mean Peter or Susan or Lucy you know."
"Alright idiot." I laughed, "that couldn't be any of your siblings.".
He pulled my waist closer to him.
"Call me something cute and romantic." he told me.
"What are you gonna do if I don't?" I teased.
"Oh I can think of a few things." he smirked as he looked me up and down.
"Edmund!" I blushed and gently hit him on the chest.
"What were you thinking?" Edmund laughed at me. "So when are we gonna tell them?"
"About us?" I asked him. "Should we tell them?"
"Well why not?" He asked me, sounding a little bit disappointed.
"With all that's happening, do you think now would be the right time?" I asked him.
I loved that Edmund and I were now together, although I just think that the others might find it a bit too rushed. It's only been about two days since we met. They might disapprove and that's what I didn't want.
Edmund scoffed, "It's not like it's any of their busine-"
"Edmund, The Just King, I don't think this situation is the right one for romance. Peter's stressing out over the Island Queen and Princess and now he's going to have to worry about the relationship we have." I interrupted him. Explaining as calmly as I could.
"What's there to worry about?" he asked, letting go of my waist.
"We've known each other for two days, Ed. Who wouldn't worry?" I told him. "They wouldn't understand."
I knew that Lucy and maybe even Susan would understand our relationship. They've seen most of the things Edmund and I have done together. The opinion I'm most scared of is Peter's. He knows Edmund's responsibility as King and he would say I'm a distraction. I didn't want that.
I wanted Peter to see me as someone who would benefit Edmund positively. Getting into a relationship after two days of meeting each other, isn't exactly the best way to go.
A disappointed expression formed on Edmund's face. He was upset, but he understood.

"We'll let this go on for a bit longer and then we can tell them, okay?" I say, cupping his face.
He sighed, "Okay."
"Thanks, Love." I said and kissed him in the cheek.
"That's a good name." He smiled, But shortly after he frowned again. "I really wanted to kiss you in front of everyone."
I blushed. "Let's do that when we tell them." I told him. "Now come on, they might get suspicious."
I ran back to the ship and he followed behind.
. . .
We had dinner and invited the Wingmen to eat with us since they helped with fishing.
It was hard pretending I didn't have any interest for Edmund at all since we had just confessed to each other and I had to act like we were "just friends" around his family.
Occasionally, we would glance at each other and smile or wink which we were extra careful about before doing it when we were around people.
"May I please have your.attention please!" shouted Peter, catching everybody's attention.
"We'd like to thank the Wingmen and their leader for letting us stay the night and help us with our dinner.".
The Wingmen Leader gleamed as he bowed with pride.
"Crew, tomorrow at Dawn, we leave for the next Island on the map." announced Peter.
"Thank you for welcoming us." said Caspian.
. . .
Once dinner was finished we all got ready for bed and we all went to sleep.
Not all of us.
I was tossing and turning until about midnight. So I decided to get some fresh air.
I went down the ship and went to the Rocky parts of the cave to just enjoy the moon. Again.
I was tired and exhausted but I still didn't want to sleep because of the nightmares I might have.
The cold night breeze blowing in my face as the sound of the water calm my ears as it hits a multitude of rocks.
I looked over at where Edmund and I had confessed each other and was somehow able to visualize the moment.
A beautiful rose suddenly shot out from the rocks.
It was so red, the color was vibrant yet deep at the same time. There were no thorns. Leaves of various sizes added simplicity and beauty to the rose.
I stood up and picked it. It smelled like the ocean breeze. I went back into my room and placed the rose on the desk. From this day on, that rose will be a memory of the time we shared our feelings for each other. I looked at the flower and the memory of him kissing me flashed before my eyes.
Suddenly, I heard a knock on the door. I gently put the flower down and faced the door.
"Uh... come in?" I said hesitantly. Who would be Knocking on my door at this hour?
"Hey Y/N?" he said as Edmund's head popped in.
I looked at him, shocked"What are you-"
"Shhhh." he put his finger on his lips.
Edmund welcomed himself in my bedroom, jumped on my bed and made himself cozy. He then looked at me as if he was waiting for me.
"Alright, Mister, just because I told you I liked you, doesn't mean I still don't not like you." I said as I rolled my eyes and joined him beside my bed.
He then rolled over on his stomach side and rested his head on his hands. "Aw come on now Darling, you don't mean that."
"Oh I do 100%." I told him apathetically. "You're still so annoying." I said as I rolled my eyes. "But you do it in such a charming way, I can never get mad at you." I speaking in a high-pitched voice while running my fingers through his hair.
"I know." he smirked.
"Why are you still awake?" he asked, tilting his head up a bit.
"Oh uh, I don't really want to sleep." I said. "I get nightmares."
He suddenly sat up and a worried expression formed on his face. "Hey, I'm here now." he comforted me. "Do you want to tell me what it was about?"
"I-.. she-" I stuttered and then sighed.
"You don't have to if you don't want to. I just want to help." He reassured me.
I sighed again and tried to collect my words. "My mom. Her death keeps replaying in my dreams. She died two years ago. I don't understand because I've only gotten them now. I've already gotten over them already before, they just... came back." I shuddered.
Edmund stayed quiet and caressed my back. I started tearing up. He pulled my head into his chest and I burried myself between him and the sheets. We lied down together and he caressed my hair until we fell asleep.
So did I get nightmares?
You've probably already guessed.
I didn't get any at all.
A/N: Thank you guys so much for being patient with my updates! Here it is! The moment y'all have been waiting for. They've confessed that they liked each other! But do they love each other though... guess you'll have to find out!
Also, to all of you complaining, I've changed all the "Babe" and "Baby" to "Love" and "Darling" ive seen WAAY too many comments saying they don't like it, so I changed it🤧
