《The Island Princess (Edmund Pevensie x Reader)》8

Caspian showed us a grand ship. The front had a design of a great dragon, the back being it's tail. It had enough room for 70 men or more.

It was the

(A/N: The time period is still between the Prince Caspian and The Dawn Treader!)

We boarded the ship, Caspian and Peter being in control of the ship. Caspian brought his Professor with him. Although he didn't want to, the Professor insisted. His name was Cornelius.

Lucy and Susan shared a room, Caspian and Peter shared a room, Edmund and I...

No we didn't share a room.

Edmund and I had our own rooms. Thank goodness. I wouldn't want to be sharing rooms with anyone... I think.

Caspian allowed us to get some clothes and equipment from his castle for the trip. I packed some armour, a few dresses, a sword and a crossbow.

Believe it or not, what I told Edmund was very much true. I did know how to swordfight. My mother taught me as soon as I knew how to walk. She also taught me how to use a crossbow. I never got to ask her where she learned to swordfight or use a crossbow, she only told me "You'll understand someday..."

"We're moving!" shouted a crew member as we left Telmarine's castle

"So, ready?" Edmund says walking in my direction.

I look at him puzzled. "Ready for what?"

"The challenge."

"Oh that."

"It's okay. You can always back away from the challenge if you're too scared." he said, smirking with his eyebrows raised... my favorite expression.

"Oh I'm totally ready." I say getting the sword from the bag.

"You can back away, Edmund." I told him mockingly.

We both get into fighting stance. We both stand in the middle of the ship. The crew make a big circle enough for us to fight.

(Please just pretend y'all are on the ship, not on the beach.)

Our swords clash, attracting attention of other people in the ship. I was enjoying the fight but noticed Edmund was taking it easy on me. I knew he was a great swordsman from the moves he was making and the strength he was putting into each throw of his sword, but I knew he wasn't trying. So I decided to match his energy.

We continued for a good 15 seconds.

I stopped fighting and put my sword down to catch my breath.

"Come on, Edmund. You aren't even trying." I pant as sweat rolls down my face. His hair already wet from his sweat. It was attractive.

"Is that all you can do?" I challenge him, hoping he decides to go all out on me.

"It's like taking advantage of a baby." he teased. "I can never do that." he mocked as he carries his sword on his shoulder.

Baby, huh?

"You're gonna regret calling me a baby, Pevensie." I say as I get ready to fight again.

This time, I was the one who went all out. Each hit from my sword stronger than the last. I was already cornering him as I throw all offenses while he was only throwing defenses to protect himself.

I cornered him to the wall of the ship and as soon as his back touched the wall, realizing he had no where else to back away, he looked at me briefly and said:

"It's on.".

He started throwing strong, offensive moves at me. I got caught off guard from his sudden display of strength. It was a bit of a turn on... This time, he wasn't taking it easy. He started fighting as if he was fighting a grown man. I fought back as hard as him. Trying to fight a bit harder.

The clash of our swords were getting louder. Peter, Susan and Caspian were watching us from afar. Curious of who would win. Lucy was watching from the window in her room.

The final sound of our swords clashed. As our faces got closer and closer, Edmund and I breathed heavily and smiled.

(just pretend you're Caspian in this GIF

..and also pretend you aren't taller than him.)

"Not bad, Y/N." he says, looking straight into my eyes.

"You aren't too bad yourself, King Edmund." I told him, not breaking my gaze.

He must've liked it when I called him King Edmund because he did my favorite expression.

We put down our swords, still looking into each other's eyes, but I knew the fight wasn't over yet. He leaned in closer but as soon as our faces were an inch apart, I took my sword and slipped it right off his hand, tossing the sword in the air and landing in my hand.

I moved back and looked at him with a prideful expression, now doing the fighting stance with two swords in my hand. He looked at me surprised.

The whole ship clapped for me, even he did. That's when I knew the fight was over.

"Never turn your back on the enemy." I winked at him.

"Alright, you win." He chuckles, reaching for his sword.

I give him his sword.

"Peter!" Professor Cornelius yells from the upper deck. Peter runs to him. Edmund and I run to Professor Cornelius too.

"Here I have a map that shows all of Narnia." stated Cornelius as he unrolled the scroll in his pocket.

"This was the last spot the Island Queen was seen." Cornelius pointed to a island on the upper middle of the map. It didn't have a name and it was pretty small.

"Island Queen?" asked Peter. "I thought we were looking for the Princess. Not the Queen."

"The Island Queen is the Princess's mother. They are both powerful, but the Queen is weaker. If we can't find the Princess, the Queen will also be able to help." explained the old man.

"This is the Narnia Mainland. Where we're from." he said as he pointed to another island, way bigger than all the other islands. It was located at the left side of the map.

"At this very moment, we're here." he pointed to a moving ship that looked like the Dawn Treader. It was. It was merely two centimeters away from the Mainland.

"Alright so, what's the problem?" asked Peter.

"For one," the professor answered, "It's going to be a very long journey."

"Of course. I wouldn't say very long but any voyage takes a long time. It's not like we're going to have to cross the whole sea-"

"For second," interrupted the Professor, looking Peter straight in the eye, "We can't go to the shortest route.".

"Well why not?"

"There's an invisible boarder protecting that area to keep away from the Telmarines before you saved us from Miraz. The seven kings." explained the Professor.

"Seven kings..." Caspian muttered... "they're friends of my father!" he exclaimed.

"Yes, them." Cornelius continued, "Unfortunately, ever since Miraz's reign, they want nothing to do with the Telmarines. Even you, my boy." he said as he looked at Caspian.

Caspian frowned.

"The only way to pass is to break that barrier by killing the kings." He explained.

Peter looked at Caspian as if he was asking permission.

"No, we are not going to kill the friends of my father. I won't let you." Caspian said as he rolled his eyes.

"Alright, fine." sighed Peter. "We'll cross the sea." he continued, making sure to emphasize the "entire".

"Fine by me." shrugged Caspian. "Are we done here?" he asked the Professor.

Peter looked annoyed. He wanted to pass the short route but it wouldn't be fair to Caspian because he let them use the Dawn Treader. Peter needed to respect Caspian's decision.

"No, not quite." answered the Professor.

"We will have to continuously stop at islands to rest. This will make the journey longer, but it will be healthier for our crew." he explained.

"That's fine." answered Peter.

"Then let the voyage begin."
