《The Island Princess (Edmund Pevensie x Reader)》6

Stumpton arrived back at the treehouse with five horses. One for each of us. I wasn't totally confident with the idea because I've never ridden a horse before.

Peter, Susan, Lucy, and Edmund climbed on top of their horses waiting for me to climb on mine.

"Well? Aren't you coming" asked Edmund as he faced his horse at me.

"Uh... I'm... new to this... I think I'll just walk." I said nervously as I looked at the horse.

"What are you looking at?" asked the horse. I gasped remembering what Susan said about talking animals. "Of course you talk." I say, annoyed.

Everyone laughed.

"I'm Trotter" said the horse who seemed to be a male. "I'll teach you how to ride as we go."

"That's a great idea!" said Lucy.

"Umm, o-okay." I say nervously as I try to climb on the horse.

After successfully climbing up the horse without fail, he started teaching me what to do.

"Pull the reigns to the left to go left, right to go right, pull back the reigns to stop, kick my stomach to run." said Trotter.

"Just... not too hard or I'll throw you off" he continued.

"Okay" I giggled as I tried to figure out where the reigns were.

Edmund walked his horse beside mine

"The reigns are here." he said, handing me the reigns.

"Thanks" I say, getting the reigns.

Peter walked his horse in front of ours, looked at us both, "Let's go." he said.

The ride was fun. Stumpton rode Tigris, which I don't think he was enjoying. I started getting used to riding Trotter, we were riding faster than everyone else. "I didn't expect you to get this comfortable that quick!" yelled Trotter as we ran off deeper into the forest.

"Neither did I!" I answered looking back at everyone else, trying to catch up. Trotter and I went back to stay in line with the rest.

"Sorry for going ahead but I am enjoying this ride." I panted while the rest slowed down.

"It is fun, isn't it?" Lucy said happily. "We never get to ride horses in Finchley." she continued.

The ride was long, the horses were tired. We reached a beautiful area. A clear field with flowing rivers. The scent of natural Flora scattered the air.

"Camp Aslan!" exclaimed Lucy.

Suddenly, the ground shook. As if a stampede was happening at this very moment. Hundreds of creatures, big and small, flyers and non fliers, minotaurs and centaurus, Griffins, hyenas, cheetahs walked towards us. They took one look at the Pevensies and bowed.

They really must be the 'Kings and Queens of Old' I thought to myself as I stared at the different creatures in amazement.

A centaur walked towards the Pevensies

"High King Peter the Magnificent, King Edmund the Just, Queen Susan the Gentle, Queen Lucy the Valiant. Welcome back to Narnia, your majesties" the centaur said with a bow.

King Edmund the Just? I wonder what he did to earn that title.

Peter walked towards the centaur. "Thank you...?"

"Picus" said the centaur.

"Thank you, Picus" continued Peter

Night fell in the camp, the five of us set up a campfire, further away from he rest of the creatures.

Peter and Picus spoke about the crew needed for the ship in search for this Island Princess. This whole day, I couldn't stop thinking about how we were going to get home and how I ended up in Narnia. If I had just not followed Edmund into that door, I wouldn't have accidentally went here. But if I didn't, then I wouldn't have been able to discover a whole, magical new world that for once, didn't need a scientific explanation. It's cool that way.

It was late at night and everyone else was asleep, I was probably the only one awake. I stood up and wandered around the forest. I soon walked to a cliff and right in front of it was the big, bright moon, and sat down with my feel dangling below me. No matter where you are I guess the moon and the sun are always with you. I let out a sigh thinking about my father and how I treated him so badly. He hasn't seen me for 16 years and I treated him like a total stranger. Even though he was to me, he still brought me into this world.

My long sigh soon became tears. I missed everyone. My father, my aunt, especially my mother. I took off my necklace and opened the locket, it was the three of us. My father, my mother, and I as a baby. It only made my tears worse as I let out a full on sob.

I felt a hand at my back, doing calming hand gestures to quiet me down. I knew who it was. It was Edmund.

"Can't sleep?" he says as he sat comfortably next to me.

"No." I say as I quickly wipe my tears and take a deep breath to maybe calm my tears.

Edmund puts his hand on my shoulder which surprised me at first but then I found it comforting.

I looked at him. Hoping I didn't look like I cried anymore. "Why are you still awake?" I asked him pushing him lightly with my shoulder.

"Well, a certain someone woke me up and started crying. I thought she might need company." he said, smiling.

Feeling stupid for waking someone up because of my crying, I apologized "I'm so sorry for waking you up, I-"

"I'm kidding" he laughed "I saw you get up. I just followed you because you might need someone to protect you." He said flirtatiously.

"Sorry to break it to you, Pevensie, but I can swordfight, if that's what you mean by 'protecting.'" I said apathetically.

"Oh you can now?" he said, intrigued.

"Don't worry," I said, "I'll protect you" I said winking at him.

"I accept your challenge" he said, smirking with his one eyebrow raised creating this very attractive expression. It's one of my favorite expressions of him now.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Tomorrow, sword-fighting practice." he challenged proudly.

"Oh, you want me to take you on?" I said... flirtatiously.

"Don't be scared Miss Y/N" he joked

"You better not cry when I scratch your pinky finger." I teased.

"Very funny." he said sarcastically.

The night was getting darker, I yawned. After everything that happened, it made me exhausted. I closed my eyes shutting off all my other senses, unaware I was falling asleep in Edmunds arms.

EDMUNDS POV

She yawned and then she closed her eyes, unknowingly resting her head on my chest. Unsure of what to do, I laid down, her head still on my chest, being very careful not to wake her up.

She's beautiful

We both fell asleep...

With her in my arms.
