Killian.

I slowly turn around. My eyes connect with Killian's, and his lips twitch up in a smirk, holding no playfulness.

"Missed me?" He tilts his head, his voice cold.

How did he even find me?

I press my lips together. "What are you doing here?" My voice comes out shaky and I clear my throat.

He chuckles darkly. "I'm a man of my words, love. I said I'd come back for you. Did I not?" He takes a step forward, crossing his arms.

"I told you I'm not coming back." I sneer at him and his smirk disappears, his eyes flaming with anger.

"I'm getting sick of the same old discussion. We both know you're coming with me whether you like it or not-"

"Well-"

"Don't fucking talk over me!" He shouts all of a sudden, and I jump.

Since when did he have such a short temper?

His jaw clenches, as he breathes furiously through his flared nostrils. I shut my mouth immediately, pursing my lips as angry tears threaten to spill.

"Already, I'm regretting being so lenient on you, I gave you time off, deliberately, just because I knew you weren't mentally fit for it and this is how you act on me?" He raises his voice.

I feel anger boil in me and clench my fists. "I have every fucking right to, this is my life-" I grit, but he cuts me off once again.

"Oh boohoo your life your choices, we got that covered months ago, can you just drop it? I've told you several times why-"

A tear slips down and I quickly wipe it away, cutting him off, once again. "I don't care, I'm not-"

"FUCK!" He shouts causing me to jump again. I bite the insides of my cheeks, trying to keep myself together. "How did I end up with such an annoying brat? Your fucking parents-"

"That's enough Killian!" Jack snaps behind me, he puts his hand on my back, rubbing it comfortingly. "What is all this about?"

Killian tears his gaze from me, looking at Jack. "She didn't tell you?" He scoffs. "Typical."

"There's nothing to tell." I grit, my face hot with rage.

Killian looks down at me, cocking a brow, before looking back at Jack.

"Nothing except the fact she worked for me." He smirks. Fucking liar!

Keep calm Layla, he's just trying to get to you.

Jack tenses, looking down at me with a frown. "You-You worked for him?"

I shake my head, swallowing the lump in my throat. "No." My vision blurs, as the anger builds up inside of me, but I keep my voice steady. "I didn't."

He furrows his brows in confusion, looking back at Killian.

Killian feigns shock. "You wound me, love. Did the thing we have mean nothing to you?"

"What?" Jack removes his hand from me, taking a step back, his mouth slightly parted.

"We didn't." I growl, lowly.

Jack doesn't reply and I look at him, my lips beginning to quiver. "Jack, we didn't." I tell him and he continues to stare at a spot on the floor, his eyebrows furrowed, his eyes distant.

"JACK!" I shout, and he finally looks at me, frowning.

"Now...Is that the way to treat your loving boyfriend?" Killian taunts and I begin to shake with anger and hurt.

"You don't trust me Jack?" I ask quietly, my voice cracking, as a tear slips down my cheek.

He sighs, raking a hand through his black hair.

"Why should he? You're a liar." Killian butts in.

"I'M NOT!" I shout, more tears spilling and I begin to shake as sobs erupt from me. Jack's eyes fill with guilt and immediately he comes forward.

"I trust you Layla, I'm sorry I was just-" he tries to wrap his arm around me, but I shake my head, taking a step back, sobbing.

"You don't!" he places his hands on either side of my waist and turns me around, putting his back to Killian.

"I'm sorry, I was just–" he stops and sighs, watching me sorrowfully. "I'm sorry, please don't cry.." He leans down and brushes my tears with his fingers. I sniffle, shaking my head.

He continues to wipe the spilling tears. "I trust you Layla, it was stupid of me to act like that. I was just confused, I'm so sorry.." he leans forward and kisses my cheek. "I trust you, okay?" I bite the inside of my cheek and slowly nod.

"Good." He puts his hand in his pocket and takes out his car keys. "What are you doing?" My voice cracks. "We're leaving?"

He smiles at me and takes my hand, placing it in my palm. My lip begins to tremble again and I shake my head. "I'm not leaving you Jack. He might hurt you."

He brings his hands up and caresses my cheeks. "He won't hurt me, babe." He tells me reassuringly.

I take a deep breath, pulling away. "Then I can stay right?"

I take a look at Killian and see him staring right back at us, his face beet red.

I look back at Jack and he shakes his head. "He's hurt you enough already-"

Killian scoffs. "Alright fine, I lied!" He snaps. "I wanted to see just how serious this little relationship of yours is, clearly I made a big fucking mistake letting you go, now that you've attached yourselves together, I didn't let you out just so you can come back with bigger issues!" His voice raises slightly.

"What are you talking about?" I snap back, furrowing my brows.

"You know what? I'm done explaining myself, what I want is what I get from now on, no questions asked. You can get the fuck out, cuz it's not you who I need right now, I've got a lot on my plate and for now I'll need to speak with my brother." He crosses his arms, glaring at me.

"What? You're brothers?" My eyes widen slightly.

I look at both of them.

Of course.. they look just like eachother.

Killian claps slowly. "Hoorah! The princess finally worked it out." He spits, sarcastically. "Man, you really are stupid." He scoffs.

I turn to Jack, gulping. "Brothers?" I repeat.

He nods, his eyes showing guilt.

Of course, it all adds up now. He had links with my family for I don't know how long. Jack was at my house that day that's how he met Heidi..

"I had no idea Killian knew them back then, I hardly saw him in my teenage years and-"

"Alright." Killian snaps. "Get your girlfriend the fuck out of here."

I ball my fists up. "Why don't you get out!" I shout, turning to him. He just scoffs.

Jack places his hand on my waist and I look up, breathing furiously. "You have to go." He tells me softly.

The anger fades, replaced with sadness. I bite my lip, and wrap my arms around him in a hug. "Please." I whimper.

"He won't do anything." He leans down placing a kiss on my cheek. "Trust me."

I stare at him, and after a while I nod my head. "Okay." A hiccup following after and he laughs.

"I'll see you soon." He hugs me, before pulling away. "Okay." I gulp, I begin to slowly make my way to the exit.

"Don't get too excited, love. It's only a matter of time when you'll be back with me. Trust me, I won't be so kind to you then." Killian spits, menacingly.

I ignore him and continue to walk. I open the door and stop, craning my neck to Jack.

He gives me a small nod, smiling, and I gulp, giving him a watery smile.

"Oh get the fuck out already." Killian sneers.

When the door shuts, I glare at Killian.

"Why are you doing that to her, Killian?" I snap at him. "She's been through a lot and you seem to know all about it, yet still be careless about how sensitive she is, she may not show it but me and you both saw how broken she looked. I don't know what's going on between you guys but-"

"Shut up for a sec, yeah?" He cuts me off and I clench my jaw.

After a moment he speaks again. "I'm just going to summarize this." He cracks his knuckles and walks around, like he owns the place.

"You know her family left her right?" He glances at me and takes my silence as a yes.

"They sold her to me. Planned it way before it happened." He shrugs. "Said she was a slutty, good-for-nothing, little-"

"Okay." I glare at him, his words making my anger rise.

He smirks at me, before continuing. "So yeah, I knew their family way before you, his father had done me a lot of favours, so I agreed to take away his problem, although I was hesitant, his description didn't really sell the girl off you know?" His words had me pulsing with rage, but I keep it in.

"I suppose I appreciated his honesty and agreed, reluctantly." He sighs. "I was low in workers anyway." He shrugs. "There's not many people making propositions in illegal activities in such a small area, like here. You know?" He continues to walk around, folding his hands together.

"I decided to take a look at her."

I scoff, sneering at him.

"See if she's fit for my workplace." He sticks his bottom lip out, nodding his head. "She was fierce, had an attitude and didn't seem one bit intimidated by me." He rubs his chin and turns to me, smirking. "I liked it." He chuckles. "So I paid her father a million."

I cross my arms, glaring at him.

"Anyway, the trap was set. Her good heart brought her to me." He tilts his head. "So we took her. I realised she had some great physical techniques. Not perfect but good enough, I had planned to perfect them later on." He sighs.

"Spending some time with her, I realised she was nothing to what her father said. On top of that, she wasn't emotionally fit for my workplace." He shakes his head. "Her family had done much damage to her. I decided to give her the time off, deliberately letting her escape." He turns to me, now glaring daggers.

"I see now what terrible mistake I made. My original plan was to wait for her to get mentally well again. You know, time to get her mind off her parents and shit."

He kisses his teeth. "But then you came along, ruined everything. She's attached to you now and when I rip your relationship apart, she'll be broken again."

I feel a vein twitch at my forehead and I take a step forward. "You-"

"It's up to you, Jack." He cuts me off.

"Either you dump her. Brutally. Or..." He flicks his gun from the waistband of his jeans, pressing it again his temple.

"Boom." He chuckles. "I will shoot you dead right in front of her."

"I'm not going to hurt her like that." I grit.

Killian throws his head back, laughing. "Okay, you really are whipped." He shakes his head.

"You'd sacrifice your life for her?" He cocks a brow, then shrugs. "Either way she'll be scarred."

"Can I just pay you back the million or something?" I growl, raking my hair.

He shrugs. "Sure, if you have it on you right now?" He smirks.

"I don't-"

"That's just a shame then." He chuckles. I grunt in frustration.

"Please-"

"Begging won't do shit and you know that." He cuts me off. My face falls and I'm left with silence, anger and sadness running through me.

"I can see how you fell for her." He finally breaks the silence. I keep my gaze down and he chuckles.

"She's cute, innocent and beautiful."

"But once she steps foot to my workplace, oh boy." He laughs. "All remaining of her innocence will disperse."

"NO!" I snap my head up, glaring at him.

"Oh yes." He smirks back at me.

"I can't wait to see her face once-"

"SHUT THE FUCK UP!" I shout, striding towards him, but stop when he lifts the gun up, aiming it at me.

I clench my fists, as I breathe furiously, glaring at him. He tilts his head, smirking.

"Jesus, Jack." He laughs. "I've not seen you like this, since you killed our parents." He taunts and my whole posture tenses..
