We were all talking to Bobby, Ma, and Pa outside of our cars. "We know what we saw, guys." Alison said. "We tested him and Mae. Salt, silver -- everything." Bobby said. "Hey I'm the good guy here, I just don't remember hell." I said. "Mae is good, Sam threw me to that vamp. I'm telling you, it's not my brother." Dean said. "Well, then he's something we ain't ever seen before." Bobby said. "Yeah, or it's freakin' Icicle mind control." Dean said. "Can Icicle mind control?" Ricky asked. "Well you said Icicle just randomly disappeared so maybe." I said. "Did you call Cas or Marina?" Pa asked. "Course we called Cas and Marina. They're not answering. Screw them. I can't wait anymore." Dean said. "Look, we get it. You're rattled. You're right to be. But let's be professional about this." Ma said. "Professional? He watched me get turned!" Dean screamed. "What you saw... are you sure that's what you saw?" Bobby asked. "Damn it, Bobby, yes. I know." Dean said. "Well, you know ain't the same as proof. 'Cause we're talking about..." Pa said. "We're talking about doing something about this, and fast. It's not just the vamp, okay? He has been different from Mae's jump and split up." Dean said. "Sounds like a boy band broke up." Ricky said to me. "All right. We're with you." Ma said. "Are you?" Alison asked. "Yeah. We'll hit the books, hard. Just don't shoot him yet, all right? Watch him. We need facts. 'Cause if it ain't Sam... we don't know what it is. And if we're gonna put him down, we need to know how." Bobby said. "I don't even want to ride in the same car with him, much less work a damn case." Dean said. "Get in the car. He's your case." Pa said. Sam, Kara, Crystal, and Samantha walked up to us with food and a newspaper. "Mae your brother is a dick." Samantha said. "How so?" I asked. "He asked if I eat kibble." Samantha said. "It's a valid question." Sam said. "Not if she's rips out your throat." Ricky said. "Hey. I was just, uh, I was leaving Lisa a message." Dean lied. "Still hasn't called you back, huh?" Kara asked. "No." Dean said shrugging. "Sucks." Crystal said in bagging our food handing it to us. "Yeah." Dean said. "You okay?" Sam asked me. "Yeah. I'm fine. How are you?" I asked getting my burger and fries. "Me? Great. Here, look. Check this out. Think it might be something." Sam said handing us a newpaper about dead people. "Four people, out of nowhere, all in the last couple of weeks. What do you say?" Sam asked. "Yeah. Sounds like a plan." Ricky said. "Let's go." Alison said. I was looking around the house and walked back in where Sam and Crystal were questioning the lady. "You know what a tell is?" Sam asked. "Excuse me?" Olivia asked. "It's a poker term... for when you're bluffing. Like what you just did with your hair." Crystal said. "What are you trying to say?" Olivia asked. "You're lying." Sam said our eyes widened at Sam just being blunt. "What?!" Olivia asked shocked. "Tell us what you did to your sister." Crystal said. Olivia broke down crying. "Okay. You're right. I was lying. I wanted to tell her, I love you. I'm here for you. Oh, but what came out was... You're a burden. Just kill yourself. Who says that?! I-I-I just couldn't stop!" Olivia said crying I comforted her and she smiled. We left and were walking to the cars and I smacked Sam. "See anything in the house?" Kara asked. "No hex bags, no sulfur, no EMF. You guys?" Dean said. "None." I the rest of us said. "A tuba and an issue of Crochet Today. So, what, already kinda suicidal?" Crystal said. "Right, and then big sis's Taxicab Confession sends her over the edge. Question is, what made big sis open her big, fat mouth in the first place?" Ricky said. "Yeah, that is the question." Alison said. Ricky, Samantha, and I were eating burgers and my phone rang. I answered it. "Hey." I said. "There was another one." Dean said. "Yeah? What?" I asked. "Dentist drilled a guy to death." Sam said. "You mean the... non-sexy kind of drilling, right?" Ricky asked since it was on speaker and Samantha looked confused. "50 bucks says he's mixed up in all the crazy." Crystal said sounding way too happy. "You think?" Samantha asked. "Yeah. Let's go talk to him." Dean said. "Okay. Uh... why don't you guys go ahead? Ricky, Sammi, and I'll catch up. We're gonna do a little research." I said into the phone. "You sure?" Kara asked. "Yeah. We got to know what we're up against, right?" Ricky said. "Yeah. Yeah, good idea." Sam said. We were doing research and Ricky was talking on his phone. "Apparently the thing is a horn of truth." Ricky said. I typed that in. "Horn of truth it's Gabriel's." I said. "Castiel, Marina? Hello? Possible loose nuke down here, angelic weapon. Kinda your department. You hear that, you two?" Ricky said. "Hello, Little mate." Ricky said. "Are you kidding me? We have been on red alert about Sam, and you come for some stupid horn?!" I said pissed. "Ricky asked us to be here, and we came." Marina said. "I -- I've been asking you to be here for days, you dicks!" I yelled enraged. "I didn't come about Sam because I have nothing to offer about Sam." Castiel said. "I healed him from angel grace so he's fine." Marina said. "Well, that's great, because for all we know now, he's just gift wrap for Lucifer when Mae was freed." Ricky said. "No, he's... he's not Lucifer." Castiel said. "And how do you know that?" Samantha asked. "If Lucifer escaped the cage, we'd feel it." Marina said. "What is wrong with him?" I asked. "I don't know, guys. I'm sorry." Castiel said and Marina nodded. "What happened to you, Cas? You used to be human, or at least like one." Ricky said. "I'm at war. Certain... regrettable things are now required of me." Castiel said. "And Gabriel's Horn of Truth? That's a real thing?" Samantha asked. "You've seen it?" Marina asked. "We think it's in town. Something's forcing people..." I said but Castiel and Marina disappeared, and reappeared. "It isn't the Horn of Truth." Castiel said. "What are you talking about? You two were gone for like two seconds. Where did you look?" Samantha asked. "Everywhere." Marina said. "Right. Well, nice seeing you, anyway." Ricky said. "Little mate." Castiel said. "What?" Ricky asked. "About Sam. I... I don't know what's wrong with him, but I do want to help. I'll make inquiries." Marina said and they disappeared again. We were now at a bar and I was drinking with Ricky Samantha was back at the motel. "Consumers from predatory prices. Here's the facts. Tune in weekdays for the newest addition to our award-winning local team. Find out the truth about your layaway living room." Ashley Frank the reporter said. "Another one?" The bartender asked. "Uh, no, thanks. We're working." Ricky said. My phone rang. "Hey, what's up?" I asked. "All the bodies are gone." Sam said. "What do you mean, they just vanished?" I asked. "That's what the coroner said. But I got a lead. One of the missing bodies, she died a whole week before everybody else." Crystal said. "Suicide?" I asked. "Reported as a car accident, but no reason it couldn't have been." Dean said. "So then that would make her our patient zero, right?" I asked. "I'm thinking maybe. Whatever got this whole curse thing rolling started with her. We're at her place now, corner of Burnham and 159th." Kara said. "Yeah, give me and Ricky 10." I said. "You know what? We will have that other one." Ricky said hearing me. "Thought you were working." The bartender said. "We are working up to it." I said to her. "You okay?" The bartender asked. "No, not really." I said. "I talked to local experts to bring you the truth." Ashley said. "On me. Anything else I can get you?" The bartender said. "I'd just like the freakin' truth. But I'll settle for another one." I said as she poured another shot. "Sometimes I think I can't get pregnant 'cause God knows my marriage is a sham. Why'd I say that? I mean, I've been snorting oxy all day. Why'd I say that?" The bartender said shocked. "I'm pretty sure I know." I said and stood up and we left I called Ma. "Hey Mae." She said picking up. "Hey, anything you're itchin' to tell me?" I asked. "Not really. Sorry to disappoint." Ma said on the other end. "Ah, that's all right. I'm just testing a theory." I said. "Well, I'm here hittin' the books while drinking a nice glass of milk, while watching Tori & Dean with Hades and Bobby." Ma said. "Wh-- wait, w-who and Dean?" I asked. "Tori Spelling. Bobby's a huge fan." Ma said. "Girl's a real talent." Bobby said in the background. "Oh, I guess it does work over the phone." I said. "You know what else? Bobby and I get pedicures once in a while -- this nice Vietnamese joint." Ma said. "Okay. Okay, please stop." I said. "This one gal, Nhung Phuong -- her name means velvet Phoenix. Tiny thing, but the grip on her." Bobby said taking the phone. "Whoa, whoa! Hey, come on, man, now I'm scarred for life. Thank you." I said. "We never told anyone that. Why are we telling you? Maybe 'cause you're my favorite. Although, Sam and Dean are better hunters. Lately, anyway." Bobby said. "Whoa. Why the hell are we tellin' you this?!" Pa demanded. "Because I'm cursed." I said. "Cursed?" The three asked and I heard laughter from the two teen girls in the background. "Yes." I said. "How is it... that half the time you clean a mess, you end up dirty?" Bobby asked. "Actually, this might be the best thing that's happened to me in a while." I said. "What do you mean?" Ma asked. "I gotta go." I said. "Okay. Did you know I bribed Hermes with candy to kidnap Persphone." Pa said I hung up. "Awe but I wanted to hear." Ricky said. "Come on, idiot." I said dragging him to his car. "Okay." Ricky said. "Anything you want to say?" I asked. "I sometimes feel like you understand me even when I don't." Ricky said. I sighed and went to call Sam. "It's Sam. Leave me a message." Sam said. "Sam, it's me. Listen, Ricky and I'm on our way to you, but if you get this before then, give me a call back. There's a few things I want to ask you." I said. We got to the place and ran into the others. "Hey, where you been? I found something." Sam said. "It can wait. We got to talk." I said. "Yeah. What's up?" Sam said. "There's a few things I want to ask you, and, uh, you're gonna tell me the truth." I said. "Uh, yeah, Mae. Of course. What are you talking about? Whoa. Are you saying you're..." Sam trailed off. "I asked for the truth. And you know what? I'm getting it. So, like I said, I have a few questions for you. When that vamp attacked Dean, why did you just stand there?" I said. "I-I didn't. I froze." Sam said. "There is no freezing in hunting Grumpy Moose." Ricky said. "You froze. You have been Terminator since we got back together in the game." Kara said. "I don't know. Shock? And then it was too late. I feel terrible about it. Believe me. Guys... I can't lie here. Do you really think I would let something like that happen on purpose? You're my brother." Sam said. "Okay. Okay. Sorry. I...I thought -- I thought I saw something. I... I guess I was wrong. It's just been a really, really bad day." I said. "Hey. It's okay. I got your back, all right? I always have." Sam said. "Thanks, Sammy." I said using his nickname. We were back at the motel looks at a cat skull. "So this was the chick's pet?" Sammi asked. "Well, she was obsessed." Alison said. "I think you mean crazy, Alice." Ricky said. "Demon?" Dean asked. "Opened a door she couldn't close." I said on my phone. "Yeah. Now anyone in town who asks aloud for the truth invokes Veritas. And she doesn't just give it to you. She slams you with it until you kill yourself and she gets her tribute." Sam said. "So, all that tribute vanishing from the morgue. What do you think, uh, Soylent Green situation?" Kara said wonding. "Gods got to eat, too. Which means we got to take her out or you're on the menu." Crystal said shrugging. "All right, well, what do we know, besides crazy cat lady?" Ricky said. "Well, dogs are her Achilles heel." I said. "Naturally." Dean said. "And she was a pretty hands-on goddess back in the day. Her thing was coming down from the mountain to speak truth to the masses. She wanted more than tribute. She wanted to be worshipped." Alison read from her laptop. "An attention whore." Crystal summed up. "If you want to put it that way." Sam said kissing her cheek. "And what is the 21st-century version of speaking truth to the masses?" Kara asked. "Social media?" I asked. "So you really think this God is slumming as some farm-league Diane Sawyer?" Ricky asked. "Eh, call it a hunch." Kara said. We were watching a video of Ashley Frank while drinking coffee and eating donuts. "I'm Ashley Frank, bringing you Frank Talk. Are organic fruits and veggies really worth the cost?" Ashley said and I wanted to stab myself with a pencil. "She's creepy. I mean, the hair alone. I don't know, man. Maybe there's nothing here." Dean said. "Maybe." Sam said speeding up the video. It was the next day.

I was eating pizza with the others while Crystal and Sam watched the sped up video of Ashley. "Are we -- we're spinning? Do the new rent-to-own prices... A recent trend in furniture stores... But think twice before you decide to buy -- Before you make that big purchase... Okay. We'll ask the councilman ourselves." Ashley said and Sam paused it. "Hold on. Check this out." Sam said we looked and went to her house we got there and looked at the modern house with too many windows. "Looks pretty normal, right?" Crystal said. "I'm sure inside it's chock full of creep." Samantha said. "Ready?" Dean said giving us the knives I took out my lighting bolt blade. "Yeah." Sam said holding up a jar of blood. "And that's...?" Kara trailed off confused. "Dog's blood." Sam said innocently. "Do I even want to know where you got that?" Alison asked. "Probably not." Sam said. "You killed off a puppy?" Ricky asked. "All right, let's do this. You can yell at Sam's morals later." I said. We were walking around and it looked like a normal modern home. "So where's all the creep?" Alison asked. Then everything went black. We woke up tied to different poles. "You came for dinner."Mm. Sit tight. You're up next. The tongue... is the tastiest part. It's where the lies roll off. Mmm. Mmm! I cannot wait to eat yours. I mean, I've seen liars before, but you all? Gold standard." Veritas said smirking. "Point of professional pride. Better now. As of yesterday, I wanted to kill him in his sleep. I thought he was a monster. But now I think..." I trailed off. "Now you think what?" Veritas asked looking at me. "He's just acting like Dean." I said and the others looked at me. "What do you mean?" Veritas asked. "It's the gig. You're covered in blood until you're covered in your own blood. Half the time, you're about to die. Like right now. I told myself I wanted out... that I wanted a family." Dean said. "But you were lying." Veritas said. "No. But what I'm good at... is slicing throats. I ain't a father. I'm a killer. And there's no changing that. I know that now." Dean said. "So, Sam walking back into your life must have been a relief. Hmm? Mallory to your Mickey. And how do you feel about the band getting back together? Hmm, Sam?" Veritas said smirking. "Look... what we do... is hard. But... we watch out for each other. And that's what's important. And that's it. That's the truth." Sam said shrugging. "No. No, it's not." Veritas said. "You said yourself -- I can't lie." Sam said. "How are you doing that? That's not possible. You're lying to me!" Veritas said getting pissed. I started using my powers to try and get free. "No, I'm not!" Sam yelled. "What are you? What is he?" Veritas asked. "Human unlike me." Crystal said. "I don't know what you're talking about." Sam said. "Really? I doubt that. I doubt anything that comes out of your mouth right now. You're not human." Veritas said. "What?" We all asked. "You didn't know that? Now, that I believe." Veritas said. I got free and went to kill her she kicked the blade out of my hand and I got my sword she smirked as I went and killed her. I looked at the sword and at my clothes.

"What the hell?" Ricky asked. "Huh Poseidon didn't say anything about this." I said. "Ask Persphone and Hades." Sammantha said. "Yeah and truth hurts." I said rubbing my hand. "You on the other hand." Dean said to Sam they were now free. "Dean, it's me." Sam said. "You are not my brother." I said holding the sword at him, not caring that I could only harm him. "Just listen." Sam said. "What are you?!" Kara yelled at him. "I'm me, guys. Look, please, just let me explain." Sam said. "Why the hell should we believe anything you say?" Alison asked getting her angel blade. "Okay, okay. You want the truth? Here it is. Here it is. God's honest. She was right. There's something wrong with me, really wrong. I've known it for a while. I lied to you. Yeah. And... I let you get turned by that vamp. Because I knew there was a cure, guys, and we needed in that nest! And I knew Dean could handle it!" Sam said and I was disgusted. "Handle it?! I could've died! I could've killed Ben." Dean said outraged. "And that should stop me cold. But I -- I just don't feel it." Sam said. "You what?" Ricky and I asked. "Ever since Mae fell in, I am a-a better hunter than I've ever been! Nothing scares me anymore! 'Cause I can't feel it. I don't know what's wrong with me. I think... I need help." Sam said. I went up to him and smacked him unconscious. "Marina, Cas get your asses down here." Ricky said and the two came down. "Why is Sam unconscious?" Marina asked. "He isn't himself." Sammi said. They nodded.
