《The red one | Sam U'ley》Chapter five

It had been a rough couple of months, yet the only thing on my mind was Sam. I haven't been able to see him since the day I dropped off his mail and something in me is making it hell not being able to see him and I don't know why.
There was an ear piercing scream. I ran into Bella's room and and tried shaking her awake.
"bella, bela come on. Wake up," I called out as I shook her awake. She stopped screaming and looked at me with tears in her eyes. She gave me one last look an turned away from me.
I sighed and walked out of her room. I walked back to my room and sat down on my bed. I didn't know how to help her. Charlie had been talking to me recently and he brought up something about sending bella to live with aunt renee. I didn't want Bella to leave, but she haven't been the same since Edward left.
A noise brought me out of my thoughts. I looked down to see my phone had gone off. I grabbed it and opened it.
"Hello," I said into my phone.
"Hey, it's Sam." I heard on the other side of the phone. My heart rate instantly increased a bit and my face went a bit red.
"Hey Sam, um how are you."'I said
"Im good now that I'm talking to you. Anyways, I want to know if you want to go on a walk on the beach with me," Sam asked min a hopeful tone. A smile instantly went on my face.
"Yes, yes I'd love too," I said in an exited voice. I heard Sam laugh a bit.
"Okay, I'll pick you up" he said as he hung up the phone. I set my phone down and put my face in my pillow and screamed out of excitement. I don't know why I was so exited to see Sam, but all I knew was that I was. I got up and went to my closet.

I put my hair back into a loose low bun, letting a few pieces in the from fall down and walked downstairs. Charlie was sitting down at the dinner table. I walked over and gave him a small kiss on the cheek.
"Im gonna head out, if you need me call, okay." I said. He looked up and nodded. I gave him one last smile before walking out. I looked out to see a car that belonged to Sam. He was waiting and leaning against the hood of his car. I smiled and walked over to him. Sam was already looking at me with a smile on his face. I got to him and gave him a hug. I didn't know why I did it, but it felt right. He instantly hugged me back. I felt him out his face in the crook of my neck which didn't bother me. I pull back from the hug and have him a small smile.
"Hi Sam,"
"Hi, river,"
We both got into his car and he took off.
"How have things been with Bella," Sam asked me. I sighed causing Sam to look at me with an unreadable expression.
"Not good. She wakes up screaming every night and I don't know how to help her. Charlie said that he might just have to ask aunt Renee if Bella can stay with her again." I said with a sigh. I felt a hand grab my own. I looked over to see Sam still looking at the road, but his hand was now on top of mine running softly across my knuckles. A small smile came to my face, as well as a blush.
"She'll be fine. Maybe her going to Renee's house will be good," Sam said as he Parked the car. We both got out and walked down to the beach.
"So why'd you ask me to come down here with you?" I asked out if curiosity. He looked over at me and gave me a small smile.
"I haven't seen you since that day you came to give me my mail and I missed you. Sorry if that's a little straight forward, but I just really wanted to see you and talk to you." He said. I looked at him shocked. Could he really mean that.

There was a gust of wind that caused me to shiver. I knew I should have brought a jacket. I felt a something drape over my shoulders. I looked over to see Sam putting the jacket he had on me. I gave him a small smile and put in on.
"You didn't have to do that," I said as I looked down.
"You we're cold and I don't want you to get hypothermia" he said as he looked down. I gave him a small smile as we continued walking.
"It's so beautiful here" I said as we stopped and looked at the water. It was truly beautiful.
"Not as beautiful as you" Sam whispered under his breath. I looked over at him.
"Did you say something?" I said not hearing what he said. Sam gave me and smile and shook his head and looks back at the water. We both sat down on the sat and watched the waves. We sat in comfortable silence.
I didn't feel sad at all when I was with Sam. It was like all the sadness over what happened was gained when he was around. All I could think about was him.
I turned my head to see him already staring at me. He stood up and out his hand out to help me up. I slowly took his hand. He was burning. I pulled my hand from his which caused him to frown.
"What," he asked when I pulled my hand from his.
"Your burning," I said with wide eyes. I brought my hand up to his head which was a bit difficult because he was so tall. He was burning up.
"Are you okay, I mean your burning up" I said worried for him. Sam let out a small laugh and looked at me.
"Yeah, no I'm just like that the doctors said that my temperature is just really high all the time. Nothing to worry about," he said. Something about what he said didn't sit right with me. Almost like he was....lying? No, Sam wouldn't lie to me...would he?
I nodded with a smile as we made our way back to the car. We both got in and Sam took off.
I did notice that sam had his hand on the center council and his hand looked as if it was almost reaching for mine, but he didn't want to for some reason. So, me feeling a bit bold. Brought my hand to his and held them together. Sam looks at me and gave me a smile. His eyes looked like he was a child on Christmas and just got the toy they wanted.
We both got to Charlie's house and stopped. I turned to sam, as he turned to me.
"Thank you for today, Sam. I really needed this." I said. Sam looked at me and gave me a large smile. I went to open the door, but turned back around. I gave Sam a kiss on the cheek. A longer one than I gave most people. I pulled back a gave him a smile before getting out of the car and walking to the door. I turned around to see Sam touching his cheek, the one I kissed with a smile. I let out a small laugh and walked inside the house.
Charlie was sitting at the table looking a bit happier than he normally did which made me smile. He looked over at me and smiled.
"Bella's hanging out with her friend Jessica tonight," Charlie said with a smile. I looked at him with big eyes and gave him a hug.
"That's amazing Charlie." I said. He nodded. I let go and walked upstairs and sat down on my bed. I got ready for bed because it was nighttime already and laid down. I feel asleep pretty fast because all I could think about was Sam.
