《Son of Artemis Book 4》Chapter 27

I awoke to the weight of Annabeth and Thalia on my chest. They were both still sleeping so I laid there hoping not to wake them.
I don't know how long I was out, but I was in the infirmary. So I guess the screen was live of what was happening in my dream.
I was in my own thoughts of how to debrief what happened on Othrys when Will came in. "Oh good you're up"
In two seconds Will was hit with a pillow to the face and an alarm clock to the gut. I didn't throw anything but I was disappointed at the sudden loss of my pillow.
Thalia and Annabeth however were grumpily mumbling something.
"Ouch" Will said on the floor, "you aren't suppose to attack your doctor"
A flash of light came from the door way and in walked Apollo. "Hello. Thanks for taking the blow son" Apollo said cheerily, and healed his son
Thalia let out a frustrated sigh, " WHY IS THERE NOTHING TO THROW"
"You threw it at my son lil sis. Anyways I'm here helping everyone heal"
"Just let me sleep" Annabeth mumbled into my chest and started covering her ears.
"Can't do that. You three had enough sleep and Artemis nearly killed Athena" Apollo replied, only to heal us.
Annabeth got up off of me and glared at Apollo. He gulped and ran away, "why does no one allow us to sleep" Annabeth said
"Because" Thalia started pausing for a bit of dramatics, "they be jelly that we have the best pillow"
Annabeth cracked a light laugh, before there were three stomachs grumbling for food.
"Come on let's get you two bottomless pits fed" Annabeth said grabbing mine and Thalia's arm dragging us off.
"Hey I'm not a bottomless pit" Thalia and I weakly defended

"What ever helps you sleep" Annabeth said dragging us to my mom's table in the dining pavilion
"Hey no" Dionysius started
I stopped listening to him, as did Thalia and Annabeth, as we started eating.
When we were getting up to leave Grover came over and asked if we would come with him for his hearing.
I was confused. Hearing? I know that's like when they are determining guilt or something. Annabeth and Thalia however looked upset by it.
"We'll go with you G-man" I replied
"Thanks" he said and started heading to wherever in the forest this hearing is.
We came into a clearing to see practically all the camps Dryad and Naiad residents. So whatever this is it's big as they've all gathered. A dryad broke away and ran to hug Grover. "That's Juniper. Grover's girlfriend" Annabeth whispered to Thalia and I. Hmm good for him.
We were waiting around when three fat satyrs, that I have never seen before around camp appeared along with Chiron in his wheelchair and Dionysius.
"This meeting is now of order" one said taking a seat then grabbing a bowl of strawberries and started eating.
"We should just exile him" the fattest said. I think I'm beginning to understand the council of cloven prejudicial idiots statement from Annabeth.
"Now Silenus. We should at least hear Grover's evidence first" Chiron countered
"But"
"I would like to hear it" Dionysius said grumpily, I noticed he had a chalice of wine. I guess gramps is taking it easy on him since he lost his son.
Grover thanked Dionysius before explaining what happened on the quest.
A few of the nature spirits who claim to have seen the battle also described Grover's scream that sent the titan army back into the labyrinth.
"It was panic" Juniper added on last, "Grover summoned the power of the wild god"

So that's what that sound was. Honestly I don't blame the titan army now. I heard a few stories of when Pan used that power and sent armies away for weeks if not longer.
"That's preposterous" Silenus the fat bellowed" perhaps it was Grover's terrible music that scared them away"
"That wasn't it" Grover defended, though he was timid, he still sounded calm. "Pan let his spirit pass to us all. We must act. We must work to not only save what little wild remains but renew it. Word must be spread that Pan is dead"
"After over two thousands years of searching this is what you will have us believe" Silenus 'cried', "we must execute this traitor. The search must continue"
The other two satyrs muttered in agreement. "What's their weapons policy here" I whispered asked. Grover grew a look of panic and immediately started shaking his head no.
I sighed, guess it's time to practice my politics, "alright council of cloven idiots" I started, Chiron sighed and Dionysius looked slightly interested, "I was there. I saw Pan fade with my own eyes. I seen the life that was in the cave fade with Pan. Grover was not alone in witnessing his fading. So you can either sit on your lazy asses and do nothing as you have always done or get off them and carry out the work of Pan" I argued
"You dare speak hero" Silenus snarled
"I dare speak. I, the son of Artemis, dare speaks rudely to you. When you could be out in the wild helping preserve what little remains. But Noooooooo, instead you would rather sit on your fat ass, and send more search parties for a god that 7 beings witnessed the death of. One of those being the son of hades who recognizedI that Pan should have died long ago"
"Lord Dionysius surely you won't let him" Silenus started
"He's more useful to Olympus than you are. He speaks the truth about you being lazy and we are in a time of war. Laziness cannot be tolerated any longer" Dionysius said mournfully
"But milord they speak"
"I am not in a good mood Silenus. I just learned my son Castor died"
"Sorry milord" Silenus said
"Grover is right. The search is tiresome. You all must start thinking for yourselves"
Silenus then called a vote which was 3-2 in favor of exile, though Dionysius overruled them being that he's a god and said so.
Dionysius then dissolved the council when they started complaining and dismissed everyone.
"Hey I'm going to speak with mr. D" I said to Annabeth, Thalia, and Grover
"You want us to come with you" they asked I shook my head no, and they went back to camp.
I walked up to Dionysius, "uncle D, Chiron" I said in acknowledgment
"I'm not in the mood for sass" Dionysius replied
"While I'm sorry for your loss uncle, we have more pressing matters that I would like to handle" I informed him
"What kind of matters. Many of the minor gods have switched sides" he responded
Well that's bad just makes my news worse, "it has to do with mount Othrys uncle. We made a quick stop there before reuniting with Grover"
"Why"
"The labyrinth is weird"
"Fine grab on" Dionysius stated, then turned to Chiron, "you as well old friend"
Chiron and I grabbed on to Dionysius's arm and he flashed us to the council room and summoned the council.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14

8 125A Mighty Conqueror
"I found out, the greatest ones. The best. The most prolific ones, were all momma's boys. Yea, afraid of their mother. Napoleon, Alexander, Genghis Khan." Mike Tyson on the Greatest Conquerors. Well, this is a cultivation story about a momma's boy. Will he conquer the known world? Maybe, just maybe. Atuel had heard many stories. All had said that the worst days were accompanied by rain, thunder, and dark clouds lead by powerful winds. Yet, he had found it to be the exact opposite in reality. On the brightest, most peaceful day, did his father disown him and throw his mother out of their home. It was on a sunny afternoon that he went from the honored son of the City Lord, to the untouchable son of the witch. Said witch was his mother, the kindest soul he had ever seen. Instead, it was the Saintess that had schemed for his mother's demise that was filled with a black heart, enchanting the people with a nice smile and kind words. All to take his mother's position as Head Wife. Now, he and his mother must struggle to live and rise from the ashes of their societal death. New and powerful must they be, or death will only meet them with extreme prejudice. I suck at synopsises... No harem. No spitting blood. And certainly no jade beauties... maybe a few jade beauties... Okay okay! There will be jade beauties! But no spitting blood! I will not negotiate!
