《Son of Artemis Book 4》Chapter 26

Tyson was the first to notice who threw the rock, "BRIARES. YOU CAME" he shouted. Maybe Grover's scream wasn't too bad.
"I had some help" Briares said and Daedalus stepped out from behind him
"I figured I would come and help" Daedalus spoke, "it appears you didn't need it"
Clarisse looked like she was going to murder him but her siblings held her back.
Daedalus walked up to Thalia and myself, "I know you took two of them. I don't blame you but like I told Annabeth all the login information is the same until you change it" he said looking at me
"Busted" Travis and Connor said
Daedalus rolled his eyes, "children of Hermès" he shook his head almost disappointedly before addressing Thalia and myself, "I ask that you two take care of Mrs. O'Leary, along with Hades's kids over there"
"We can do that" Thalia said
Daedalus moved on to Annabeth, "Sister I know my actions aren't forgivable, you have great potential. Just don't loose sight of what's important and be better than me"
Annabeth looked like she was going to retort with something about him being disowned but just nodded and held her tongue. Though she also looked like she was about to bounce off the walls since one of her idols just complimented her.
Daedalus turned to Chiron, "I'm sorry master Chiron. I only hope you forgive me" he said before moving onto Clarisse, "the labyrinth was a mistake. Connected to my life force and as the son of Hades made clear to me I should have died long ago. I only hope his father is merciful to me"
"Why are you talking to me punk" Clarisse said, and was probably about to stab him
"The labyrinth needs to go. For that to happen I need to die. Plus I had a visit from the love goddess telling me it should be the daughter of Ares who kills me" Daedalus stated, "I didn't ask why. I guess I have wronged you or one close to you in some way. I only hope to make my last attonements before I pass on"
Clarisse looked like she didn't want to kill him all the sudden. "I shouldn't"
"Please Clarisse. I beg you" Daedalus said, "spare others from the pain I've caused you"
That must have struck a nerve with Clarisse as she killed him quickly. She paused for a bit, looking at the mechanical body of Daedalus withdrawing her sword. The Labyrinth shuttered and disappeared, collapsing. Some of the Ares kids went over and looked around to see if there was still an entrance.
Many were still looking at Clarisse, "prepare a shroud" she stated, "prepare a shroud for the inventor Daedalus"
Chiron smiled at that, I guess because he was proud that even though Daedalus still committed many wrongs that his students were rising above and still paying respects to the dead.

Thalia and I went over and plopped ourselves on the ground next to Nico and Bianca. Annabeth soon came over to us and laid across Thalia's and my lap.
Thalia started patting her hair, "good plan wise girl" Annabeth just nodded tiredly, and I think feel asleep.
We wondered why until Malcolm came over. While he's her older brother, she's been here longer and thus she's cabin leader. "She was fighting like hell to try to get to you two" Malcolm said, "I don't think I've ever seen a monster back away from a demigod killing other monsters before, but a few of them stepped away from her seeing how she was fighting" he explained.
"Awww lilttle Annie is growing up to scare monsters just like Percy and I" Thalia cooed
Apparently Annabeth wasn't entirely asleep yet as she head butted Thalia's stomach. "Ouch" Thalia moaned as she fell back.
Malcolm was still there though, "I don't know if my mother approves or doesn't. But don't you two dare break my sisters heart" he stated, rather seriously
"She would probably break us before you can retaliate, but we won't. She's ours and we are hers" Thalia said. I agree with Thalia but I'm not going to state it in front of a child of Athena who would tell his mother
Annabeth had a small smile on her face as she started to snore lightly.
I looked around the battlefield. I only noticed a few dead. One was one of Dionysius sons, either Castor or Pollux, I couldn't tell from here, but the other was crying over their brother. Another was an Apollo camper. A young daughter of Apollo was crying heavily over him, so I could only guess he died protecting his little sister. There were a few other bodies lying around but they were being tended to medically.
I don't know how long Thalia and I were sitting next to the DiAngelos with Annabeth in our lap, but Will Solace, a son of Apollo finally made his way over to us, "are you all ok" he asked
"I'm good" Thalia stated, thankfully she didn't say fine or ok. I would be spending hours trying to decipher that.
"I'm good as well" I replied, "Nico and Bianca over exerted themselves, and I think Annabeth just fought herself to sleep"
Will nodded, "she scares me. Seeing her fight that is"
"Yeah she can do that" Thalia replied, "just be glad she's on our side"
"I am" Will replied as he started tending to Bianca.
Thalia and I gently maneuvered Annabeth till she was lying between us...well more so on top of me as Thalia was snuggling into my side.
I looked over as did Thalia to see Will start blushing as he started tending to Nico. Thalia and I began sharing a look...we are so going to play matchmaker with them when they are older.

Apollo must have been in a somber mood as the sunset wasn't as...magnificent...as it normally is. Almost as if the sun itself is sad. I just began noticing I haven't slept in like a week, I guess Thalia noticed the same to, as we fell asleep holding onto each other and Annabeth.
I know I was in a dream and looked around taking in my surrounding only to notice I was in the throne room. Not all the gods were here, but the Big Three, my mom, Athena, Aphrodite, and Hestia were there.
The big three were looking at the screen in shock, Aphrodite...wait screen...I looked at the screen to noticed it showed Thalia Annabeth and myself sleeping together with the DiAngelo sibling being loaded up on stretchers being carried off to the infirmary.
I would loose my shit if I wasn't a dream. I guess I have to wake up to wait for that.
Aphrodite was taking pictures of the three of us, "oh my me. I can't believe I ever thought of only allowing Percabeth. This is so much better than Hellen and Paris"
Hestia, Athena, and mother all let out sighs and mumbled "please not another Trojan war"
"Oh hush I can't do anything to them I already swore on the Styx. This is all them" she defended herself.
My mother and milady seemed relieved at that. Though the big three finally came out of their shock.
"They just" Zeus started
"Kampê" Poseidon stated
"It shouldn't have been possible" Hades added
"I TOLD YOU ALL ON THE WINTER SOLSTICE THEY WERE TO DANGEROUS TO BE LEFT ALIVE" Athena yelled
The next thing I knew my mother and Athena crashed through me and were fighting each other, rather violently. My mother had both of her hunting knives in Athena, and just left them there. I was wondering what knives she was using so I moved to see the hilt. I noticed that they were her poisoned knives. Oh no that's bad like really bad...for Athena that is.
Athena started screaming in pain. While the poison mother uses is deadly for mortals and animals. It will only cause extreme pain for immortals, demigods and monsters. Don't ask me how she came up with it. I'm too scared to ask.
"DO NOT EVER THREATEN MY SON AGAIN YOU BITCH" mom yelled pulling out another set of her hunting knives but Hestia moved and dragged mom away from Athena.
Athena saw that as an opening and tried to get up to move against mom but grandpa started holding her back.
"CHILDREN BOTH OF YOU STOP THIS NOW" Zeus yelled, both mom and Athena stopped struggling.
"Athena we already voted to not kill them. You will stop this nonsense at once. You are no longer allowed to help train the kids" Zeus ordered
I heard a small gasp next to me and noticed dream Thalia and dream Annabeth. Anneabeth seemed like she was going to cry. "I can't believe my mother" she whispered.
"Artemis you will not kill Athena unless she moves directly against your son am I clear"
"Yes father" mom said with her head down, "I'm sorry for my outburst"
"You're forgiven but dismissed back to your hunt" Zeus said
Mom flashed off without another word.
"I'll go keep her company" Hestia said and she too flashed off
Athena fell to the ground in pain, "Aphrodite help Athena to Apollo's palace" Zeus said, "tell him it's an order to heal her from me"
Aphrodite nodded and touched Athena like she was some kind of deadly disease before flashing off with her. This left only the big three.
"They worked together brothers" Hades stated
"Better than we've ever had" Zeus added
"They are dangerous" Poseidon said, "it can't be ignored"
Zeus took his seat and stared at the fire, "sister will kill us if we move against her champion" he said deep in thought, "we can't move against them. My grandson sees all but that Peter boy as family in that camp. He will fight tooth and nail to protect them. And Hestia will fight to protect him. We don't need a repeat of the incident" grandfather said
Poseidon and Hades shivered recalling whatever the incident was. I think Poseidon may have peed himself a little.
"We can't move against any of them" Hades said, "my children will protect yours and yours protect mine. This is...an uncertainty we will have to live with"
"We could get Aphrodite to" Poseidon started to suggest
"She won't" Zeus said, "she has Oaths on the Styx remember"
Poseidon sighed, "the power we all felt on Othrys"
"The three powers" Hades corrected
"The first was definitely father" Zeus said
"I no longer sense him in the pit" Hades confirmed
"What were the other two then" Poseidon asked, "both came from the earth yet we can't see Othrys as it's obstructed to us"
The three brothers all shared a look, and I began thinking they were wrong, but I knew they were thinking about Gaea. I should clear this up with the council when I wake. I should also report on Pan's death, if mother hasn't already. I looked back at the screen to notice that it is showing Thalia Annabeth and I in the infirmary. With the Apollo kids trying to separate us but our sleeping bodies refusing to be moved by them. They sighed and gave us a small dose of godly food. I began to stir realizing I was waking up.
