《Larry One-Shots and Sickfics》Harry - Kidnapping (flu)

Harry's POV:
It's dark. I'm pretty sure it's nighttime. I vaguely remember falling asleep or passing out or something, I just know I felt super out of it.
Earlier this week, Louis was called into some meeting to do with his record label. He's spending a lot of time working with a girl band. Since the break began, it's been his main focus. Suffice to say, he's been really busy lately and he hasn't been home all that often. I've been working a lot too, trying out acting and other things to keep myself busy during this hiatus. I haven't really been able to do anything productive this week though.
It started off as a stuffy nose then congestion, then a headache, then a really bad headache, and then just pure misery. I didn't tell Louis how I was feeling though. He was busy, he didn't need me to slow him down, so when a call came for Louis and he had to go to LA for a few days, I didn't protest. "Go, Lou" I said. "Don't worry, Lou, I'll be fine," I said. In no way, shape or form was I fine. But I could manage, or so I thought.
I wake up to the sound of rain hitting the window. I vaguely register my bed and the side table next to it, I reach for the lamp, groaning as the blinding light comes on.
I rub my eyes trying to make them adjust. My head is pounding right in between my eyes. It's okay, Harry, it's just a headache, I tell myself. My throat feels dry, I swallow hard, and it feels like sandpaper.
I stumble out of the bedroom, towards the kitchen, I seriously need a glass of water. As I walk past the living room, I notice used tissues scattered all around the couch. That's where I've been for the past day and half since Louis' been gone. I felt too sick to move to the bed so I just stayed on the couch, wallowing in my misery. I must've moved to the bed a few hours ago I guess, It's more comfortable there anyway.
Arriving at the kitchen, I grab a glass of water and look in the medicine cabinet for aspirin. This headache is turning into a migraine and I want it to go away before it gets that bad.

I search for a few minutes, emptying and looking through every cabinet in the house just in case. Nothing. We must be out. Groaning in frustration, I reach for my keys, wallet and coat. I need to go buy some more. I decide to walk since the walk-in pharmacy is only a few kilometers away. It's better for the environment and everything.
It's pouring rain and my headache is making it hard to focus on where I'm going. Maybe it was a bad idea to decide to walk. What was I thinking? I squint at every streetlight I pass. This is not helping. I feel miserable, my head hurts, I can barely breathe and I'm starting to feel a little dizzy. I might have a fever, all the more reason to get the aspirin.
I continue to trudge along, down the sidewalk, until finally I see the bright Pharmacy sign a few feet away from me. It's too bright, everything's too bright. I feel myself begin to sway and lean against the wall for support. The sound of the rain is getting louder and louder, and it's becoming harder to focus.
Where am I again? Suddenly a loud thump catches my attention. I look up, facing the alleyway outside of the pharmacy. There's a figure, he's... there's a girl too, I think. He's grabbing her. She's pinned against the dumpster, that must be where the noise came from. I have to help her. "Hey!" I croak, trying to walk forward, bumping into the dumpster in front of me. I hadn't even noticed it until now.
"Who's there?" The guys calls. I can't find the strength to speak again. I see black spots start to blur my vision. There's muffled screaming and the sound of a car door shutting.
I pull out my phone and call Niall. He's at the top of my recents list since Louis is out of town. I slide down the side of the wall, my legs crumpling under me. There's a loud ringing in my ear. I groan at the unwanted sound.
"Harry? Mate what's-" Niall begins to say.
"Alley- pharmacy- N-Niall- h-help." I manage to get the words out before everything goes black.
---
It's dark again. It's raining too I think. I hear it but I can't really see anything. It's all distorted. I can make out a dumpster a few meters away and two dark figures. Suddenly, there's a scream. A loud THUMP. Someone's in trouble.

"Hey!" I call out to no one in particular, but no sound comes out. I need to get to her. It's a girl. She's-She's... "HEY!" I call. "Leave her alone!" Everything is spinning. I feel like all the oxygen has been sucked out of my lungs. I can't breathe.
"Harry!" I hear someone call my name. I recognize that voice. I called for help. He can help! "Help her!" I choke out.
"Help who? Harry! Wake up!" I hear someone calling to me.
I jerk awake, suddenly, sweating. I breathe heavily trying to get some air in my lungs.
I see Niall holding my shoulders, his eyebrows are furrowed, he's worried about something.
"Harry, mate, are you alright?" He asks.
I blink hard, taking in my surroundings. I'm in my bedroom and Niall's here. When did Niall get here? "What happened?" I ask.
Niall takes a deep breath as if he's contemplating how to explain this to me.
"You called me, Harry. You sounded pretty out of it. I found you passed out next to the dumpsters in the alley outside of the pharmacy. Mate you had me seriously freaked out." He explains.
Alley. The alley... something about the alley...The girl! "Niall! The girl! Did you see the girl!? IS SHE OKAY!?" I say, frantically trying to get out of bed and back to the alley.
"Girl, what girl?" Niall asks holding me steady. "Mate take a breath, calm down. You're ill."
My head is spinning. I can't wrap my head around what I saw. I take a breath, trying to collect my thoughts. "There was a girl, Niall. In the alley. Someone took her. I couldn't help her."
"Who took her? What're you talking about?" Niall, questions, perplexed.
"I don't know who took her, she just, I don't know Niall. She needs my help." I say.
"Harry, mate. There was no girl. You were passed out in the alley for gods sake. It was probably some fever induced nightmare or hallucination or whatever."
"No, Niall, listen to me. I saw it. I saw her. It wasn't a dream." I try to convince him.
He looks at me for a second, probably trying to decide if he believes me or not. "What did she look like?" He finally says.
I think back to when I saw her. "It was dark and wet. I couldn't really make out much. But her hair, it was dark and brown and it went all the way down to her hips." I say.
"Her hair? That's it? That's all you saw? Harry..." Niall says.
"Niall, I'm telling you she was there!" I yell, Immediately a sharp pain pulses through my skull, "Ahgh." I groan, putting my head in my hands.
Niall squeezes my shoulder. "Mate, you alright?"
"H-Headache," I croak out.
"See, you're ill. I'll grab you some aspirin." He states, turning to walk out the door.
"We're out."
"Don't worry, I've got some in my car. Hang in there, I'll be right back." And with that, he walks out the door.
---
Niall hands me the aspirin and a glass of water. "Thanks," I mutter, before downing the aspirin and emptying the glass in two gulps.
Niall sits down next to me on the bed. I put the empty glass of water and aspirin on the side table.
"So let me get this straight. You witnessed some kind of what, kidnapping, last night?" Niall asks.
"Pretty much."
"Shouldn't we report this to the police or something?"
"Yeah...I-I guess. We should." I say, trying to rub the wave of exhaustion that just hit me, out of my eyes.
"Okay, how about this. You get some sleep and when you wake up we'll look at missing persons in the area and see if there are any that match your description. If there is someone, we'll go to the police and report what you...saw. I'm still not totally convinced you saw anything though," He states, helping me lie back in bed.
"Niall." I groan.
"Okay, okay. You saw it. Just get some sleep alright?"
"Mhmm," I mumble already
slipping out of consciousness.

Immovable Mage
What do you call a mage incapable of casting spells? In this story, we usually call him Terry. When the boy is accepted into Arcana Academy, his talent in the pillars of mana foundation awes everyone. Faced with expulsion, Terry is blessed with the unexpected kindness of others. Terry loses his spot in the Academy but in exchange, he finds a home with a family. Terry starts to train as a pure mana cultivator but never stops looking for his own path as a mage – day after day, season after season, always searching for compatible spellwork… Until finally, Terry’s perseverance earns him a single spell – the only spell he will ever be able to cast. Disclaimers: Chapter Frequency: I aim for one chapter a week. Chapter Length: I try to keep chapters between 3000 and 6000 words. Binge Preference: I plan for 30 chapters per arc. If you want to binge a complete arc, then that is the number to wait for. I will also add a line to chapters indicating the beginning and end of an arc. Advanced Access: I have created a patreon page with early access to four chapters for patrons. What to Expect: Progression fantasy with a western fantasy setting and with eastern fantasy elements. A main character that is forced to explore a very narrow path of magic due to a permanent condition. A main character that is a part of a larger cast. A main character that is growing but won't become the strongest around anytime soon. A story following a single main character but with introduction or theme setting scenes without the main character. What Not to Expect: Edgy grimdark characters – I will never write a sexual violence scene or gory descriptions of torture. I hate reading it and I would hate writing it even more. Romance – romantic relationships will never be the focus of the story and only appear in the background. The main character is preoccupied with other stuff. Other forms of relationships (family, friends, companions) play a bigger role. Cover: The cover art was commisioned from redditor Linh-Nguyen87. The font is alita brush by Inovatype Typefoundry. 8 117A Sky of Star and Strength
Jake was just an intelligent kid living a pretty regular life in Mill Creek, Washington. Then the apocalypse happens. Now with his Dad out of the country and totally in yet out his element, this is his story. My take on a system apocalypse based around "life force" as a currency. The main character will have a special power (as will most of the other characters) and be rather OP, you have been warned. Like many of the authors on this site I have no formal writing experience so writing tips and grammar corrections are much appreciated :)
