Julie jumped up from where she was sitting by the piano in excitement having just finished a new song.

The song wasnt the most cheerful given the inspiration.

A few days ago she and Flynn had been having a girls day. They had been scrolling through Twitter and instagram when they came across some nasty comments.

The band had become famous that was correct, but Flynn had also become one of the best, well-known Djs in the industry.

The comments were putting the girls down, talking about their skin colour and even not because they were girls, being all around racist and sexist.

Julie and flynn were smart enough to ignore the comments. There were a lot of jealous, mean people out there who bullied people for no reason other than because they were insecure about themselves, but of course, no matter how hard the girls tried to ignore it, the words said still hurt.

Julie had needed to get her thoughts and feelings out and what better way to do that than song? So for the past week, she had been non-stop writing down ideas for this song until it was finally done.

Julie looked over her work once more before pulling out her phone and texting flynn to come over and meet her in the studio.

5 minutes later, the studio doors opening and flynn came barreling in, collapsing to the floor trying to catch her breath.

Julie looked at her best friend shocked, she opened her mouth to say something when she was silenced by flynns finger telling her to wait until she caught her breath.

"I- *pant* ran her as fast- *pant* as I could" said flynn still on the floor.

Julie giggled "there was really no need, I just wanted to show you a song"

Finally having caught her breath Flynn stood up and looked at her friend dumbfounded.

"You mean to tell me that I ran a normally 20 minute walk in 5 minutes....for a song?" Flynn confirmed

Julie smirked "your choice not mine"

flynn went to argue that Julie made it sound serious but was interrupted by the girl herself before she could say another word.

"Anyway, you remember the other day when we came across those nasty comments?" She continued when Flynn nodded

"Well I wrote a song and I think you should hear it" said Julie as she went to sit down on the piano bench ready to play the song.

Flynn nodded a small smile on her face, and moved to sit next to Julie when the girl patted the spot next to her.

"The songs called Shallow" said Julie.

Julie played the opening notes to the song before she began singing.

Julie looked up from the piano keys and smiled at Flynn nodding for her to take the next verse.

Flynn smiled at her friend before singing

The girls both joined in for the next part, belting out the chorus.

Tears had started falling as they sung the next lines.

The song ended. Both girls had tears steaming from their eyes as they turned to hug each other.

Suddenly there were 2 extra pairs of arms around the two girls. They pulled apart to see who it was.

"When did you get here?" Asked Julie when she saw it was The girls boyfriends, Luke and Reggie.

"We got here just before you started singing and we didnt want to interrupt so we stayed outside instead" answered Reggie.

Julie stood up from the piano bench moving to hug Luke as Flynn did the same but with Reggie

"I love you" Julie mumbled into Luke's chest.

Dropping a kiss fo her forehead, luke moved them both to the couch before answering

"I love you too baby, dont listen to those haters. You know your way better than any of them will ever be"

Julie lifted her head out of Luke's chest and kissed his lips passionately in thanks.

Meanwhile

"Flynn?" Reggie started speaking suddenly scaring Flynn slightly making her jump

Reggie chuckled before continuing

"Dont ever listen to the haters because they are wrong, they are just jealous cows. Your awesome ok?" Said Reggie making flynn look at him, gently holding her face.

Flynn smiled brightly and kissed her boyfriend.

"I love you so much" she mumbled into the kiss

"Love you more" replied reggie. Before breaking apart.

"You guys want to double date?" Suggested Luke from his spot on the sofa where Julie was cuddled into him.

"Dont wanna move" mumbled Julie, snuggling more into Luke.

"We could just watch movies here?" Suggested Flynn hearing Julie.

Everyone agreed so Reggie and Flynn joined luke and julie on the sofa, grabbing the remote control to turn on the newly installed tv.

They ended up watching Moana, half way through the movie the girls ended up falling asleep making the boys smile down at their girl admiring their beauty.

As luke turned off the movie, reggie grabbed a blanket to cover all four of them. The boys not being able to move trapped by the sleeping best friends.

"Hey reg" luke got reggies attention just before they dropped off to sleep.

"Yeah?" Mumbled reggie

"We're very lucky aren't we?" Said luke not really asking.

"The luckiest" were reggies last words before he fell into a deep slumber, cuddling into Flynn.

Luke looked down at Julie once more, smiling before drifting off into his own sleep.

The haters could say whatever they wanted. They would always have each others love.
