《Poems》Math Quiz

Tired head on stiff hand

Staring blankly at the page

The numbers dance in my mind

Forever confusing on the stage

"Why does this have to be so hard?

Why can't I learn this and remember it?"

Papers shift around, pencils tap on desks, time ticks on

The letters mean nothing to me

Tired, frustrated, fed up

"Why can't x solve its own problems?

What does Sally need with all those oranges?"

Numbers get written, then erased

Written again and scribbled over

"I can't do this. It's too hard.

I'm never going to need this in my life."

Writing down letters to get an answer

Most likely wrong though a guess is better than nothing

Glancing at the people turning it in, the bell rings

Filling in the blanks

Standing up, walking to the table

Defeated
