FLUKE
I've already been staring at the piece of paper in front of me for a few minutes. It has been a week since I got this piece of paper with Ohm's number scribbled on it.
That day after we talked, I went straight to my room to sleep after sending him to the gate. That was the longest sleep I've had. Maybe because I barely slept the night when he confessed to me, then the recalling of the past and the crying fest I did made me really exhausted. Ohm was right that recalling memories was quite draining.
I didn't go out of the house until the next day when I had to go out to buy something. When I opened the gate, a piece of paper that was stuck to it fell. It was a note with his number.
With a sigh, I took my phone and dialed the number.
First ring. . .
Second ring. . .
Third ring. . .
After the third ring, I dropped it.
I instantly got nervous to hear his voice. I was about to put the phone on the desk when it suddenly rang. To my surprise, I pressed the answer button, so I didn't have any choice but to listen to the person who was calling.
"Hello?" I heard him say on the other line. "Hello?" It seemed like ages since the last time I heard his voice, that I couldn't bring myself to utter a word. "Hello, Fluke? Is that you?" He asked softly. "Fluke. . . It's you, right?" He continuously asked. "Hey. . . Are you alright? It's you, right? Fluke."
"Ohm. . ." I said in an almost inaudible voice.
"Hey. . ." He said happily. "I knew it was you. . . I thought you wouldn't call me anymore. I've been waiting for your call. I'm sorry I wasn't able to answer it right away. I was fixing my things in my car. How have you been?" He explained, still with a happy tone. "I missed you. "
I fell silent. This man has always been vocal with his feelings for me. How would I react on that? What would I say?
I just didn't comment on his last statement, and told him why I actually called.

"Uhm. . . Are you still at work?"
"Yeah. . . Why?" He asked curiously.
"Oh. . . I'm sorry."
"No. . . no, it's okay. I'm almost done here. I'm just waiting for them to call me for my last scene for today. Why?"
"Ah. . . Okay." I let out a sigh. "I called to invite you for dinner here. Are you free after work?"
"For real?" He asked surprised with the sudden invitation. "Are you really inviting me? Are you sure?"
"Oh. . . you don't like it? It's okay if. . ."
"No!" He immediately stopped me from talking. "Fluke, you know that I would do everything just to have a chance to be with you. Of course, I would like to have dinner with you."
I chuckled, "Are you sure you don't have other appointments?"
"I don't. And even if I have, I would gladly cancel it."
"No. Don't you ever do something like that. I don't want to be the reason of you being unprofessional. I don't like that." I said firmly.
"Uh. . . I'm sorry." Regret was heard from his voice. "I'll keep that in mind. But, honestly, I really don't have anything to do after this."
"You can just come here after work."
"Yes, Fluke. I'll see you later. Thank you for calling me."
I sighed and continued, "I'll see you then. Take care."
"I will." He said. "Uh. . . Fluke. . ." I heard him took a deep breath and said, "I love you." in a very soft voice, then the call was dropped.
My hand automatically went to my chest as if to try to stop my heart from beating fast. "What did just happen?" I whispered to myself. I tried to calm myself up by taking deep breaths until my heart beats were back to normal.
I busied myself in preparing dinner. Since he was coming from work, I wanted to prepare something that would somehow ease his tiredness.

As much as I wanted to be with Fluke right away, I couldn't. The last scene that we needed to shoot took us an hour, for P' New was too perfectionist that he didn't want us to go until he was sure that everything was okay.

As soon as he gave the signal, I just said my goodbye and literally ran to my car. If only it was not traffic on the way to his house, I would be there in no time. However, some things really didn't go on my favor, for there was an accident on the road that took a few minutes to be resolved and caused the traffic.
I pressed the doorbell and waited for him. As the gate opened, I smiled as I saw him. He looked really charming. I couldn't help but adore him even more.
"Hi." I heard him say.
"Hi."
I couldn't take my eyes off his beautiful face. I saw him looked down from shyness.
"Come in." He said, but as he was about to open the gate more to let me enter, he continued. "Oh. . . Why don't you just park your car inside."
"Is it okay?"
"Yeah. It's much safer. You'll never know what might happen while we are inside." He explained. "I'll open it for you."
He took his cellphone out and clicked something, then the gate opened, so I went back to my car to park it behind one of his cars.
"You've got very nice cars here, Fluke." I said as I stepped out of my car and looked to his car.
"Thank you. That's a 1953 Mercedes-Benz 300 S Cabriolet. That was actually my grandpa's. That was his baby." He explained. "Wanna take a look?"
"Can I?"
"Of course." He answered and went over to the far corner of the garage. When he came back, he already had the keys in his hand.
I walked towards the car with Fluke and checked it. Everything looked really amazing. I was always fascinated with vintage cars and he got an amazing one.
"It's still in good condition. It's well taken care of. I have it regularly checked and drive once in a while. I don't bring it to crowded places, though, because vintage cars are too hot in the eyes of others, you know. It catches a lot of attention." He said as he sat on the passenger seat and started the engine.
"Wow!" Eyes sparkling in excitement, I said. "Cool."
"I know right. Grandpa had a very nice taste in cars. He actually had a few more, but grandma had them auctioned since we won't be able to use them. We just kept this one since this was grandpa's favorite." He turned off the engine and went out of it. Then he walked over to the car next to it. "This is my 2009 Mini Cooper Convertible. Grandma gave me this as a present when I got my driver's license." He continued and smiled. "I always wanted to have a Mini Cooper that's why I was ecstatic when she gave me this." His hands went over the top of the car as if caressing it. His smile never left his face.
Just like the other car, he started the engine of his Mini Cooper. After that, he walked over to the other side of the garage. There was the black Ducati that I saw exiting the filming site the day when Fluke visited.
"Oh!" I said with a surprised tone. He looked at me in confusion. "That was the bike I saw at the filming site."
He looked at me with furrowed eyebrows and then his eyes widen as if remembering something, "That day when I visited Newie. . . Yeah, I came with Duke that time."
Duke. That dude again? Oh I almost forgot that I still have other rivals. I told myself.
"Duke?" I asked
"Yeah. . . This is Duke! My Ducati 2018 Diavel. Isn't he handsome?"
"Huh?!" I exclaimed. Okay I might've overreacted, but I just couldn't believe what I heard. "Duke? Duke is your Ducati?"
"Uh. . . Ye. . . yeah? Why?"
"If Duke is your Ducati, then what about Coop and Benz?" I asked.
"Oh. . . That one is Coop." Pointing to his Mini Cooper. "And Benz. . . obviously." He pointed to the classic Mercedes Benz.
I wiped my face with my hand in frustration. "I can't I believe I was fooled by P' New and Sammy. They made me believe that I have three other rivals. And here I thought that Coop, Duke and Benz were your suitors, and my jealousy went everywhere. But it turned out they are just your wheels!"
"Eh. . . WHAT?"

Daily life of a cultivation judge
Tired of those cultivators who think it is righteous to eliminate a sect or clan root and stem all in the name of revenge and avoiding future troubles, fights over treasures that end up destroying cities with no consequence whatsoever to the culprit, these psychos whose aim for the peak always involves a trail of carnage and bloodshed in its wake for some reason. Then look no further than the daily life of a cultivation judge. Yang Qing, is a young genius cultivator from a low-tier family whose only safe choice to get resources and hopefully lead an easy life led him to the courts of the Cultivation Order Society. Author’s disclaimer: Hey there this is my first novel so any criticism will be well taken though beware I’m a million-year-old monster who has cultivated the way of the sword to the peak. The daily life of a cultivation judge will be true to its name so it will be heavily on the slice of life lane with a bit of action here and there.Meaning we will see the life of Yang Qing when he clocks in and out. Hopefully, it will be one of those novels you read if you need to relax or are in a slacker mood like one of those otakus who listen to the noises of cicadas in the summer famously used in most animes. And it is in the slacker spirit that chapter release will be on Wednesday,Thursday and Friday. Sank yuuu Cover art by Conny Schneider on Unsplash

Midori
The sea of stars. The momentaneous lifeforms that flicker far away. Our futures — a sea brimming with light. Each and every shimmer in the starry canvas serves as one’s infinite opportunities in the vast sea of the future. The world, however, is far from the ideals of such a mantra. Complacency is the enemy of progress, yet to the four known nations, each one sees enemies around their borders. An example: A village isolated from the nation of Alkai prevents the lives of many from progressing. It’ll take a society, a group, even a whipped together rag-tag team to jump start the quest for progress. An escape from a motionless home—in order to search for a greater future, Mira approaches her blade in a new light. Any illustrations I use for covers and chapters are illustrations I have drawn myself unless otherwise stated.
