"I can't believe they tricked me just like that!" Ohm complained and I was chuckling at his actions. "I thought they were my friends." He even pouted and crossed his arms.
"So. . . all along, you thought that Duke, Coop, and Benz were my suitors?" I asked with a smile.
He nodded his head, "Yes. . . Sammy and P' New even saw me sulking when I knew that I wouldn't have a chance to be close to you because there were other guys around you."
We were already inside the house, I told him to just sit and wait for me in the dining while I was serving out the food from the kitchen. He offered some help, but I told him that he should just sit down cause I knew he was tired from work.
"When did that happen?" I asked curiously as I sat down.
"It started when you visited the set early in the morning and P' New told me that you were with Duke. I'm sorry, but when I heard about the name, the first thing that came to my mind was a guy. Maybe P' New noticed my reaction when I heard the name, and he wanted to see me suffer more, so he added Benz and Coop in the picture. Imagine my reaction that day, I thought I wouldn't have a chance anymore since there were three other guys around you while I couldn't even meet you."
I was just looking at him as he explained what happened then. "Friends can be so mean sometimes. My best friends are mean to me also, but I know that they love me as much as I love them."
"Well. . . right. But I think they like to tease me especially when I was not around. There were a lot of times that they did things that I regret I wasn't even there."
"What do you mean?" I asked curiously.
He told me everything that happened during the times that we almost met, but we didn't. I didn't know, but he looked cute when he was whining like a kid with all the pouting and sighing. I found it endearing for a person so manly as him to see him like that. As I listened to his stories, I found myself feeling touched and at the same time-honored to be given so much attention like the one he was giving.

Honestly, when he told me about his feelings, I was in doubt. How could I even believe that he fell in love with me even though we didn't have much interaction?
When he stared at me, I was overwhelmed. How could someone stare at someone like that? He looked at me like there was no one worthy of his attention but for me.
When he told me how frustrated he became when we couldn't meet even though there were chances for us to meet, I was amazed. It only proved that he wanted to meet me then, right?
Then, when he assumed that other guys could be my 'suitors' and the jealousy he felt, I found it hilarious. I knew I shouldn't be laughing at him, but how could he even conclude that I had other suitors by just hearing those names. Did he trust people that much?
Whatever it was, how he felt about me was his choice. His actions and feelings were not in my control. I was still overwhelmed, but I had to deal with it.
He noticed that I was just looking at him blankly, so he snapped his fingers as he called my name.
"Huh?" I asked
"Are you alright, Fluke?" He looked worried.
I sighed and nodded. "Yeah. I'm okay. I was just thinking."
"I hope you were thinking about me." He stated with a smile.
I smiled back and looked at him, "I was."
"Really? You were thinking about me?"
"Hmm. . . mmm. . ." I hummed. "I was just thinking about everything you said, your feelings and actions were somewhat overwhelming me." I honestly said.
"I'm sorry if I ever make you feel uncomfortable. . ."
"No. . ." I said before he could even finish. "It's not that. Maybe at first, it was uncomfortable, but I am starting to feel okay with it. I cannot tell you not to feel that way towards me nor ask you to stop what you're doing. But Ohm. . ."

He reached for my hand and held it gently, "Let me tell you something, Fluke. . . I know how you feel. Really. . . Maybe after everything that you've experienced in the past, you are afraid to try it again, right?" I just nodded in response and let him continue. "If only I could erase those bad memories you had, I would. But I know I cannot do that. I can only assure you that I won't do what your ex-boyfriend did to you. I would like to replace the heartaches with happiness. You deserve to be happy, Fluke."
He caressed the back of my hand with his thumb. I felt comfortable with his touch, something I've never felt in a long time. My heart was at ease.
"Wh. . . what if I have trust issues?" I asked him.
"I will work hard for you to trust me," he said in a firm but gentle voice.
"What if I am afraid to commit again?"
"I will give a lot of effort just to let you know that you don't have to be afraid of it."
"How could you say all these?"
"Because I love you."
I was about to say something, but I was stunned as he bluntly say those words.
"H.. How could you be vocal like this? You know. . . I mean. . ."
"That's how I feel, my heart says that I love you. Simple as that. I don't want to waste any moment not saying what I feel. I might regret it later on if I didn't tell you." He looked into my eyes. His eyes showed sincerity, love, and adoration.
"What if . . . what if I won't return the love you are giving me?"
I said and closed my eyes. For some reason, I was afraid to see the sadness in his eyes and I didn't want to be the cause of it.
"Fluke, look at me." He asked gently and caressed my cheek. I looked and saw him smiling at me. "All I want right now is to show how much I love you. I'm not asking anything in return. I just want you to be happy. If I could be the reason for it, I would be even happier. Just let me, Fluke. Will you?"
With a deep breath, I removed the hand caressing my cheek. I saw the change of reaction on his face. His smile faltered and turned into a tight-lipped one. He suddenly looked sad and ducked his head. I lifted his chin with my fingers for him to look at me again.
"Okay."
How amazing it was to see his sad face turn to a very happy one. He slowly smiled from ear to ear.
"Really?" He asked as he held both of my hands. "You're allowing me?" I nodded in response. "You're not kidding me, right?" I nodded again. He kissed both of my hands as he looked at me with all sincerity. "You won't regret it, Fluke."
"Don't you think it's too early to say that?"
"Nope." He simply just said.
I just stare at him and see how proud he was. I smiled. He smiled back. We fell into a comfortable silence just staring at each other. He was still holding my hands, but I felt comfortable and safe in his touch.
"Let's eat. I know you're hungry." I broke the silence. "You have to taste everything that I made, okay?"
"Yes, sir! I might finish everything. Thank you for cooking for me, Fluke."
"You're welcome."
