Alex p.o.v.
It is nearing the end of October which means Halloween! October has been anything but boring. The twins are very active now, crawling everywhere and they are trying to talk but it just comes out as a cute scream. I'm am always busy with them.
Also a couple of weeks ago Hayden and I had the interviews for a babysitter, and after of the options we had chosen Jill Humphrey. She's such a nice person. I absolutely love her, she is so good with the twins and we get along well too.
Right now Asher, Sophie, Ava, Liam, the twins and I are sitting up in one of the press boxes at the Florida State University stadium watching Hayden play football. The game is going great, we are playing Michigan University and we are stomping them 38-12 in the fourth quarter. Liam was really into the game, so was Asher, the twins and Ava were sleeping and Sophie and I were talking also watching parts of the game.
"I'm am in need of a long vacation from school." Sophie laughed, "I never realized how much I missed online schooling. Getting up at 5 every morning is really starting to kill me."
"I definitely agree." I laugh, "but it's senior year and I'm just excited to get it done. And then I can spend the rest of my life with my lovely small family." I looked over to Jada and Luka sleeping peacefully and smiled.
"Me too. As much as my life has changed since I had Ava, I wouldn't want to change it for the world. And think of this, if Asher and I get married in the future we'll be step sister-in laws." Sophie squealed.
"That's so exciting, I can't wait! Oh goodness, this is just crazy." I looked down my ring, this was all so surreal. I'm in love with my life, things have just been going so well.
"What are we going to do for Halloween?" Sophie asked while we were watching the game.
"I'm not really sure. We should get all dressed up, the twins and Ava. But we can just stay in and chill watch movies and eat tons of candy and junk food.
"That sounds like such a good idea. I need to finish watching Orange is the New Black before the newest season comes out."
"You haven't finished it yet? Oh my goodness, it is so good!" Orange is the New Black is definitely one of my favorite tv shows on Netflix next to Gossip Girl.
"Oh my gosh! Don't tell me what happens!" She laughs. We're sitting here laughing like normal teenagers without a care in the world, but that's short lived because my child began to cry, and once one starts the other one has to cry too.
"Luca, Jada." I coo to the twins. Cody comes over to help, and he grabs Luca making him laugh in delight. I rocked Jada back to sleep, and eventually Luca fell asleep too. We sat around and wanted the games for a while still talking.
"Oh my goodness. Hayden took the kids to the park the other day and Luca went crazy over the sand. I cried laughing, look at this video." I got Hayden's phones from my bag and began scrolling through his pictures to find the video. As I was looking I saw something that made my heart drop. There were several pictures of Hayden with this blonde haired bimbo all over him sitting on a couch at a party. Was this the other night he came home drunk? Did he have sex with her?

"Everything okay Ali?" Cody asked, sensing was wrong.
"Yeah, fine." I quickly got off the pictures and got to the video of Luca, trying to ignore everything I just saw. I showed them all the video and they all laughed. It was a very funny video, but I feel like my heart was just broken into several pieces.
The game was now over and myself along with the twins were waiting for Hayden to come out of the locker room. I didn't know what to say or do. Do I confront him now or later? I don't want to run in his win with the team. I love him so much, I don't want this to be true. Five minutes later Hayden came running out of the locker room and threw his arms around me. He must've showered because he didn't smell horrible.
"I love you my beautiful babies and fiancé." You could tell that he was very happy, he had a very good game. "You ready to go my love?" I nodded my head. Hayden grabbed Jadas car seat leaving me with Luca.
The ride home was uneventful, the twins giggled the whole time in the back. Hayden or I didn't say much, he just kept his hand on my thigh. Any other day I would've loved it, but now all I wanted to do is go in a ball and cry.
We reached the apartment, got all the stuff from the car and went inside. Hayden told me he was going to take another quick shower and then we could go do something. I heard the water turn on and I quickly ran into my room grabbed a bag with some of my clothes in and and did the same with the twins. Quickly running out the door I wrote a note.
Hayden,
I love you so much,
But I need to go for a while.
I'm going to my moms and taking the twins.
I'll talk to you when I get back. I love you.
-Alex.
I grabbed the twins car seats and bags and got to my car and drove away, not looking back.
.
.
I got to my mom's house and she said she would take care for the twins for a little bit, if I needed to sort things out. I went to my room and threw on a pair of running shorts and top, and I took off for a run down the street.
My body was numb, I felt completely broken. I ignored the feeling and continued running. I don't know how long I had gone, but I found myself in park, a few miles away from my mom's have house in tears. I sat down at a bench breathing heavily.
Still trying to catch my breath, I looked at my phone and saw it was almost 8 o'clock. It would be getting dark soon, but I couldn't get the power in my body to get up and move again. I was completely drained. I was going to call Cody to pick me up but I saw a familiar truck pull up, and the love of my life walk out with a worried face.
"Alex, I had no idea where you were. I was so worried. I got you note and don't know what to do." He ran over to me, and took me in a big hug, but I didn't do anything, just sat there. "Please babe, talk to me." He pleaded.

"I can't, I'm scared you'll confirm what I found." I let out as a whisper, not trusting myself.
"Alex, I don't understand. Please explain." He said, still holding me.
"Why don't you explain?" I said louder, pushing him away from me. "Who's that girl in pictures of your phone?"
"I don't know who or what you are talking about." He said looking confused, but I was still unsure. I told him to look threw his pictures, and as he was scrolling I heard him mumble, "shit." He threw his phone down and out his hands threw his hair.
"So?" I began, not know what else to say.
"Alex," he began, he was pacing in front of me, "there was a party in the dorms. The whole team went, I didn't think I did anything. I don't remember."
"Hayden. I remember you came home one night a few weeks ago. You were plastered drunk, I haven't seen you like that in a very long time. You had scratch marks going all over your back. You must've done something."
"I'm so so sorry, but I truly can't remember." He sat down next to me, but I got up and faced him.
"Well until you figure things out, I think we need a break." It killed me to say that. "I'm going to take the twins to my moms and stay there for a while. And hopefully we can talk later. I'll call Cody to pick me up, you can leave."
"I'm not going to leave you. I'll wait until he gets here." I nodded my head and walked away to call Cody. After the call I went back to the bench and sat next to Hayden.
"Alex-" Hayden began but didn't continue.
"Hayden, just don't say anything." I laid my head on his shoulder, and I slowly began crying. I was so exhausted. We sat there for several minutes not saying anything, and then I heard the sound of Cody's car pull up.
I stood up and began walking away, but Hayden grabbed my hand and gently pulled me back. We held eye contact for a couple seconds, not saying anything.
"I love you." We both said at the same time. My heart jumped, I pulled Hayden into a hug, but quickly pushed him away and ran to the car where Cody was.
Once in the car Cody started driving. I was frozen, I couldn't do or say anything. Cody didn't try and start and start a conversation. Which I was thankful for, I don't think I could explain.
We pulled into my mom's house and I broke. I started crying and couldn't stop. Cody jumped to my side, which was a little awkward since we were both still in the car.
"Ali, Ali. Let it all out." He was just there to comfort me. After many minutes of crying, Cody picked me up and walked me inside. "I'm here for you, always." He told me, and put me on the couch. "I'm going to go get the twins and some ice cream. Do you want anything else?"
"I'm good. Thank you." I grabbed blankets and cuddled up on the couch. I got Netflix ready, but I didn't know what to watch.
Cody and Dallas came down holding Luka and Jada. The twins immediately started giggling when they saw me, that made my mood better for a while. We settled on watching How I Met Your Mother. One of my favorite shows at the moment.
About 10 minutes into the episode, the twins fell asleep in my arms, but not soon after I felt myself falling asleep also. Cody must've noticed because I felt him picking up the twins to put them in their pop up cribs we had set up in the living room. Cody had fixed a blanket on me, kissed my forehead and he and Dallas left to go back to his room.
I was awoken by my mom asking me if I wanted to go to school. I completely forgot it was Monday. I didn't want to go but we had a short week since we didn't have school Thursday or Friday because it was Halloween and then a teacher's work day.
My mom said that'd she watch the twins today, so I text Jill, the babysitter, that she had the day off.
I ran upstairs to shower and get ready. I still had some of my things here along with a few things I brought from the apartment.
I got down to the kitchen to find that's where my mom was, along with the twins in their high chairs.
"Hi honey. How are you feeling?" She asks with a sympathetic look.
"I'm tired, but it's a three day week. I think I survive until the weekend." I say honestly with a sigh. I grabbed a bowl and filled it with Lucky Charms and milk and began eating.
"Well I'm here you you wanna talk about anything." She tells me with a weak smile.
I let out a small laugh, "our lives have changed so much in the last year. You're married to Derek, living in this luxurious mansion with him, your son Cody and step son Asher. Which is also the father of Sophie's baby. And you're a grandma to my twins, who's I'm engaged to the baby's father."
"You're right. Everything has changed for the better, I believe." I nod my head agreeing.
"I best be off to school now." I grabbed my keys, hug my mom good bye. I walk over to the twins and kiss their foreheads.
"Mommy and Daddy love you two."

Cutting to Life: an NPC LitRPG (Battle Royale)
Nikola is an NPC in The World of Wills, a video game where players can feel sensations as if they were truly there. She leads a life of bloodshed and murder - that is, until one day she wakes up sapient. Just as she begins thinking real, non-scripted thoughts and making connections, she and the players in the game are told that if they die in the game, they die in real life - and it's time to get killing. But what of Nikola, the emerging AI consciousness? How does she win in a game that can only end in her being wiped from existence at the end of it all? - Updates Mondays and Fridays. Cutting to Life is a slow-burn LitRPG with a villainous (later anti-hero, or maybe still villainous, haha) female lead. It's told from the perspective of Nikola, an NPC within the World of Wills who's become sapient and is now mysteriously able to play the game as a PC. It's quite light for a LitRPG, but the system and stats become more of a focus later when Nikola herself can access them. The story gradually builds into a Battle Royale where the players' lives are on the line (if you die in the game, you die in real life), and only one party of savvy adventurers can win. They'll have to spend their time and stats wisely as dungeons promising rare gear float down from the sky - but is a legendary sword worth killing someone for, knowing they'll stay dead forever? - This story is told in third person, past tense.- This is a slow-burn LitRPG that spends a lot of time establishing its setting and characters, because I believe this will make for a better payoff in the end. As such, the Battle Royale doesn't start until chapter 30 or so.- Chapters are anywhere between 800 words and 3000 words long.- Book cover by Vixeona.Cutting to Life is also being posted on SPB and Scribble Hub.Thank you sincerely for reading.
