"J-Jeff?!" Someone yelled.
"Really, they sent him to rescue me?" If Jeff could face-palm he would have.
"Friend of yours?" You asked.
"Unfortu-"
"OOF!" Something heavy hit the floor and two axes slid across the tile.
"Fuck!" A boy with orange goggles ran down the hall.
"Real stealthy Toby, great job" If Jeff could clap the room would be filled with sarcastic clapping.
"Th-thank you" He lowered his mouth cover and looked at you.
"Damn you're hot, my name's Toby" He held out a hand, you hesitantly took it and he pulled you forward and kissed you on the mouth.
"Goddammit Toby" Jeff mumbled as you pushed him away and tazed him.
"Ah hahahah! Wh-why'd you ha push me hahah a-away?!" He laughed, an idea popped into your head.
"Uh, because he's here" You pointed at Jeff.
"Why don't we go somewhere more private~" You took his hand and lead him to another room.
"Don't trust her Toby! She'll probably shoot you!" Jeff yelled.
"Fuck off Jeff!" Toby yelled as he followed you.
"So now t-that we're alone~" You lead him to your living room.
"What do y-you wan-"You pushed him onto the couch and got on top of him.
"The things I do so I don't die" You thought as you took his goggles off.
"Sorry dear, b-but if we're g-gonna do this then I'm on top" He flipped you, but the couch was only so big, so you landed on the floor with him on top of you.
"Ow, that hurt" He leaned down and kissed you again.
"Grossgrossgrossgross" His hands roamed your body, you pulled him closer with one hand and reached under the couch with the other.
"Nope, no, no, yes!" You grabbed what you were looking for and pressed it to his neck.

"What a-are you d-" You pulled the trigger and he went limp, you pushed him off and he flopped to the side.
"Ah tranquilizers, they're so fun" He twiched, you shot him again.
"Seriously, tranquilizers?" Jeff looked at the two red and blue darts that stuck out of Toby's neck.
"Yep" You cuffed him to the railing.
"Hey, how come the tazer didn't work on him?" You picked up the axes.
"He's got some weird disease so he can't feel anything" Jeff said.
"He was feeling plenty" You shivered.
"Wait till you meet BEN" Jeff smirked.
"Ugh, there's more of you guys?" You pulled over a chair and sat down.
"Yep, way more, and if you keep doing what you're doing our boss might show up" He said.
"Oooo, a boss! I'm terrified!" You waved your hands.
"You s-should be, he's p-pretty c-creepy when he wants to be" Toby said.
"Woah what? I shot you twice, how are you awake?!" You asked, he shrugged.
"Can I have m-my goggles b-back?" He asked.
"Nope"
"Why not?" He whined.
"Trophies; I beat you: I keep your goggles, I beat Jeff: I keep his knife" You said.
"WHAT!? OH HELL NO! YOU AIN'T KEEPIN' MY KNIFE!" Jeff yelled.
"Yeah, I am" You said, pulling out the knife for effect.
"Bitch"
"Yep" You smiled and tried to twirl the knife between your fingers, you failed and nearly dropped it on your foot.
"Fail!" Toby said, you were tempted to shoot him again.
*TIME SKIP*
"...So, who should I expect next?" You asked.
"Well, I-I'm pretty sur-re he sent Masky and Hoo-OOF!" Jeff kicked him.
"Shut up!" He growled.
"Don't fucking kick me!"
"Masky and who?" You persisted.
"Hoodie OOF!" Jeff kicked him again.

"C-CAN YOU KNOCK HIM OUT PLEASE!?" Toby yelled.
"Does it hurt?"
"Well no, but-" He started.
"Then deal with it" You weren't gonna waste ammo because of something like that.
"Yeah Toby, deal with it" Jeff drummed his feet on Toby's back.
"J-j-j-e-e-f-f-f I s-s-w-e-e-a-r-r t-t-o g-g-o-d-d!" Toby tried to say.
"What? I couldn't understand you with at that stuttering" Jeff kicked harder.
"I'm pretty sure these two are actual five year olds" Your laptop flipped open and turned on.
"...what the fuck?" The screen turned to static and you could hear a buzzing sound. You turned to the two killer's and saw that they both had smiles on their faces as they watched the computer.
"Oh hell no, I've seen enough horror, ghost, movie shit to know how this plays out" You rushed to the kitchen and grabbed a can of salt, when you came back your laptop seemed to be leaking water. Now usually in movies the girl would taste the substance and then people would wonder why she got killed so fast; hell no you weren't doin' any of that, instead you sprinkled salt all over it. It sparked and the screen went black.

Flame Beneath The Snowfall
Alto is a world governed by Tones. Magic, as one might call it. Manifested through deep mental and physical conditioning, one can control the Tones in a way that is unique to them. The power to store items in gems, transfer life, affect a person's mind, and even the more primal abilities such as control of the elements. Those who have these supernatural abilities are called 'Vassals.' People that fully manifest their abilities are not as common as one might think, and not all Vassals acquire their ability through practice, given if conditions are met. In fact, those who had received much trauma manifest the Tones more frequently, albeit spontaneously. However, the rare kind of Vassals are those who manifest it from childhood. A gift, but not without its repercussions. Alto is stuck in a transitional era, where the line between modern and dated technology is blurred. One can travel to a city that has a tall skyline, bustling with people in sophisticated clothing, or a mere town governed by a lord, all the while riding on a powered vehicle. Cultures vary: Some turn to the more dated practices such as castes, others are more inclined to set equal footing on their people, led by nobility. Some are dedicated to become scholars, studying Alto's Tones, while others set foot on hunts, protecting lone towns from the creatures of some of the still-untamed lands. And the Vassals? Those willing are took under The Organization, an elusive group, its presence said to permeate all throughout Alto, taking care of Rogue Vassals that abuse their abilities and other businesses related to their side. But what is this story all about, you may ask? Well, set your sights on the upper portions of this huge landmass that is Alto. Yes, the 'whole' world is called Alto, but that is because the majority of the known people live on this large continent. Relieve yourself of the worrying tensions everywhere, and see the white snow. Trace the piercing mountaintops and focus your eyes between the valley. A town sits there. Mido. After realizing that the memories only left in his mind was the night of his town's imminent destruction in flames, a boy finds himself grasping for every fiber of his life as he lays down flat on the ground. Beneath him was soot mixed with the white snow. Fortunately, a group of investigators, who were supposed to answer their call for help, saved him from his sorry state. With a newfound second wind, but hampered by his loss of memory, he must solve his own case: Who had the audacity to set Mido, his town, aflame? Flame Beneath the Snowfall focuses on action, with a sense of adventure, but mostly the discovery of an outside world, and the protagonist's exposure to it. Add in a whisk of soft magical elements, and you get a story that I hope will be interesting to the readers. That is not to say that my work is without the sense of unnerving atmosphere, however. As a forewarning, there are elements of gore, horror, minor elements of mental trauma, etc. so it is not for all audiences. *The book is already completed. Although I have plans to continue the story (it would have to involve much larger scope in terms of world-building), I have yet to decide when to start the next entry.
