《Lose Myself》Chapter Seventeen Part Two: Family Night

"Grazie mama." I gave my madre a peck on the cheek. I took the food she gave me followed by Leo and placed them on the table. Claire had no idea how much effort the mom's put into making Family Night work, she's always been so stubborn about it and never considered that its difficult to make it happen every time. But Claire is the princess and no one wants to let her down.

"This is a feast." Leo commented putting his hands on his hips and looking impressed at the table covered in food. I shook my head, surely everyone will gain at least 2 pounds in weight today.

We plopped down on the sofas, I tilted my head back and closed my eyes. I felt soft brushing on my eyelids and opened them to find Clarissa smiling down at me, I looked to Leo who sat smirking his ass off and frowned.

"Tired?" she sat next to me, leaning closer than socially acceptable.

"No. Waiting." I looked at her sceptically and then returned to my lazing.

I heard shuffling from the stairs, Claire and Abrielle came tumbling over pushing each other around, I turned to find Amara smiling at the two. Whilst Claire and Abrielle were wearing their usual silk and lace shorts and tanks, Amara wore a single silk and lace nightie that was black with a matching kimono which I assumed was her way of 'covering up'. She didn't know it but she could be quite slutty at times.

Although I can't deny that I definitely don't mind.

Amara's gaze flicked to Clarissa sitting beside me, I turned to look at the heiress who held a devilish smile on her lips. Rolling my eyes I walk over then grab Amara's hand and drag her over to the sitting area, at this point Claire and friend have stopped fighting and are watching quietly.

"Sit here." I sat down across from Clarissa pulling Amara onto my lap, she let out a gasp and I smiled. I gave her a quick wink. She pulled her legs in and rested her head on the back of the chair.

Claire and Abrielle got up from the floor and sat either side of Clarissa with smug looks on their faces, I was glad for my sister's awful tendency to intervene for once as she grabbed Clarissa's hand in both of hers and whispered in her ear. Clarissa glared at her then ripped her hand out of her grasp causing Leo to lose his cool and start laughing uncontrollably.

We heard mom answering the door before the other ten people arrived. I smiled at my usual rivals Taddeo, Uberto and Rocco – they made it their missions to challenge me ever since we were children, in sports, grades and well... girls. Taddeo's brows shot up at he sat on the sofa to our left, Uberto made some suggestive sounds and Rocco rolled his eyes. I didn't mind, up until Taddeo sent a wink which immediately made Amara tense.

The two twins – Rose and Rosalie – walked in giggling at something then stopped when they saw me and sat down quietly on a single armchair. They've always been the quietest little things, they joined the familia just last year. Following them was the biggest sluts this side of the equator, I was almost one hundred percent sure they'd slept with every single man in the familia and a couple married men also. Venetia and Veranese were everything women shouldn't be, with no intent of ever settling down or bearing children.

Marius and Nek walked in talking about something, Nek always made me extremely uncomfortable – he was touchy and also there was the fact that he was gay and had a hard core gay crush on me. Marius was just a good kid, he had the best grades and I was sure he'd do well working in the intelligence portion of the mafia.

Then Claire's friends Sophie, Amber and Joane walked in. Claire squealed and hugged them all individually, girls were so confusing – I was sure Claire was telling me just the other day how she was tired of all her model friends. Now her model friends are here and she's acting like it's the best thing to ever happen. Sophie and Amber gave Amara warm smiles as they sat on the sofa with Claire, Clarissa and Abrielle. Joane didn't address anyone as she sat on the beanbag next to the couch.

"Great!" Leo stood, "Everyone's here. We've all gotten to know each other before I'm sure. You may have noticed, or not," He glanced at Joane, "But we have a new friend joining us."

"I'm getting tired of being introduced as a new friend." Amara mumbled in my ear, I ignored the tingle that crept up my spine, "Hi, I'm Amara. Nice to meet you all."

"We'll go around and say our names," Sophie spoke up, "I'm Sophie Attwell." She looked to Amber.

"Amber Brians."

"Joane Bridge."

"Marius Moretti."

"Nek Greco."

"Rose and Rosalie Marino." They said in unison which also sent a shiver up my spine.

"Venetia Gallo."

"Veranese Russo."

"Rocco De Luca."

"Uberto Esposito."

"Taddeo Ricci." He winked again at Amara, I glared at him.

"Brilliant." Claire stood and clapped, "Let's play some games!"

"Claire," Abrielle tapped her arm, Claire looked down at her, "Can we play truth or dare?"

"I know that's your fave," Claire smiled, "Truth or dare it is! Something interesting to start of the night. Okay everyone on the ground."

Everyone started pushing sofas back and sitting around the table, I picked Amara up around the waist and we both sat. Amara was now seated next to Nek and I next to Rose.

"I'll go first," Abrielle smiled evilly, "Clarissa, truth or dare?"

Clarissa who had her arms crossed, glared at her then scoffed, "Dare."

"Oh, we got a daredevil on our hands." Uberto chuckled. He tended to provoke Clarissa, it's what he's best at.

"I dare you," Abrielle turned her attention to Amara, "to hug Amara and say you're sorry."

"Sorry for what?!" she exclaimed.

"I don't know," she shrugged, "It's meant to be a dare. Don't question it."

Clarissa sent the most deadly glare our way then got up and walked around the table all eyes following her, she stood in front of Amara bent over and wrapped an arm around her shoulders pulling her in briefly then letting go, wiping her arm and returning to her seat.

"That was," Rocco breathed, "Intense."

Taddeo and Uberto laughed.

"C'mon let's make this more, interesting." Taddeo smirked.

"Okay," Clarissa smiled, "Amara, I dare you..." She looked around, I watched her. It seemed Amara was watching also.

I watched Clarissa pretend to scratch her chin, she knew she could make me do anything right now, make me say anything at this moment. I heard Claire whisper 'maybe this wasn't such a good idea' to Abrielle who now had a crestfallen look on her face.

"To take off your panties," my eyes went wide, "and give them to a guy in the room."

"No." Claire looked at her in disbelief.

"What?" Clarissa pouted innocently, "At least I'm letting her pick who it is."

"I hope she's not wearing tighty whities." Abrielle muttered causing Rocca to chuckle.

I let out a frustrated breath, how could anyone possibly like this game? It's so inappropriate and unpredictable not to mention humiliating. But at least everyone gets a turn of getting humiliated. Guess that's the fun part, when the object of humiliation isn't you.

I stood, hooked my forefingers around the band of my Victoria Secret panties then pulled down, it was dead silent as I ran them around my legs and folded it up. I pretended to think about it a little but then just grabbed Dominic's hand and placed them on his palm closing it into a fist before adjusting my nightie. Dominic continued to stare – his brows practically hitting the roof – at his hand which he'd reopened.

"Do you even own a pair of tighty whities?" Amber marvelled eying my panties.

I blushed, "No."

"That can't be good for you." Sophie looked me up and down. I frowned and sat down.

"I feel honoured." Dominic smirked, he put the panties in his pocket. "I'll be keeping these."

I felt myself go beet red, not only was Dominic touching my underwear – something I'd been avoiding since I got here – now everyone in this room knew I wasn't wearing anything under this extra short night-dress. Talk about keeping it unattractive for the night. Mission failed.

"Amara you get to ask someone." Claire informed in the most tired voice, my guess was this isn't what she'd been planning.

"Okay," I clapped my hands together, "Rose and Rosalie," I addressed, they looked at me with worried eyes, "Truth or dare?"

They looked at each other, I was starting to feel bad; they looked frightened. "Dare."

"Wow, you must have something to hide." I chuckled, "I dare you to sing a song in unison."

They shared a small smile then stood holding each other's hands, they must be inseparable. They took a deep breath then began singing. They sang 'Mad World' by Gary Jules. They sung it all the way through, in unison with blank looks on their faces trying their best to not make eye contact. Dominic was tense beside me, Claire and her friends were all holding each other's hands. Venetia was now straddling Rocco, which I hadn't noticed her move to that spot and from what it looked like, neither did he. He like the rest of us was deeply mesmerised by the performance.

Their performance came to a close, we sat staring at them as they sat once again not saying a word.

I cleared my throat. "Your turn to um, ask someone."

Rose gave me a small smile before turning to look at Rosalie who immediately took charge, "Venetia, truth or dare?"

"Truth."

"The first daring person here." Rocco looked down her top as he spoke, I cringed as she giggled.

"If you could pick one person in this room to be your slave, who would it be?" Rose blurted before shutting her mouth tight. I eyed her but turned to Venetia.

"Probably," she rubbed her chin squinting her eye as she looked around, "Dominic."

"Excuse me." Dominic choked.

"It would be interesting making you do whatever I please." she licked her lips. The cringe was too real, I may have gagged a little causing her to glare at me.

"Yeah," Veranese added, "You seem like someone who can hold their own..."

"Seem?" he raised his brows.

"Okay ladies no need to go any further," Uberto interrupted, "I volunteer as tribute."

"Well," Venarese sighed, "If Dominic won't be then you can be." She got up and sat in his lap.

I snorted trying to hold in my laugh.

"Something funny?" They both glared at me.

"Yes." I smiled.

"Stop getting involved with other peoples business," Clarissa started, observing her nails, "You'll regret it." She looked at me.

"I'm not involving myself in anyone's business." I replied.

"You're involving yourself in my business." she sneered. There was silence as I stared at her.

"Okay," Claire stood, "Let's split up. Boys you can go to the other room and do whatever activities you normally do. Us girls are going to the kitchen, we're making food."

"Sweet." Taddeo and Dominic said in unison then shared a weird look and made their way to the next room. They were followed by the rest of the guys, Rocco didn't leave till he whispered to Venetia 'make me something nice'. I rolled my eyes, such a sexist douchebag.

We all piled into the kitchen, Claire popped out the basic stuff to make about six pizzas. We all smiled, excited that we would be having pizza. Me especially since my experience with pizza so far had been... exciting. I thought back to making pizza with Dominic the other night.

We played around with the dough a little bit then went off doing our seperate duties, Venetia, Sophie and Rose were on meats, Abrielle, Amber and I were on vegetables, and Claire was with Rosalie, Veranese and Joane in making the sauce, base and prepping the oven. We worked in unison with each other for a solid while until about two pizzas in.

"Clarissa I think you're overreacting with this whole Amara slash Dominic thing," Venetia spoke up, "Amara was simply asked to be here from what I've heard and Dominic dumped you like..." She struggled to come up with a time.

"Last year." Claire answered for her.

"Right," she continued, "They have every right to do whatever they want and honestly Amara had - and possibly still has - no idea about you two."

"Okay so this is how it went down -" Veranese started. Rosalie put a hand on her arm.

"You better not." She advised stealing a glance at Clarissa who had been standing in the corner observing her nails ever since we got in here. I was only now realising she wasn't even helping.

"No," Clarissa turned her attention to them, "Go ahead. Tell her." She turned to me, "Then maybe she'll know what she's getting herself into."

I snorted. I began chopping the red onions again.

Everyone went back to their chopping and piling whilst Veranese put the sauce aside and started telling the story. I listened to the part about them growing up together, dating for 4 years and another 2 years after he got put in the institution but breaking it off because of distance and then Dominic not re-initiating the relationship after he got out. Instead he decided to move out of the house and start his own company which of course - I would already know - worked out really well for him.

Claire slid the last pizza into the oven and wiped her hands on a paper towel, Veranese just finished the story off with Clarissa following him to New York, getting a job that had something to do with him and coming back here when she heard about the brunch. I cringed a little at how attached it seemed she was to him and how she followed him to whichever country he went.

"The moral of the story is...?" I leaned back on the counter.

"Clarissa and Dominic are -" Claire started but didn't get to finish as Clarissa stepped in.

"We are meant to be, you're disrupting a perfect relationship." She looked me up and down.

"That has no hope of rekindling." Claire added, "Okay time to head back in whilst the pizza cooks alright?" she clasped her hands together nodding at every one then glancing at Clarissa before leading the way out.

Clarissa scoffed before striding out of the kitchen, the girls giggled. Veranese placed a hand on my shoulder, "She's going to keep being a complete b-tch to you until you do something about it. I wouldn't be surprised if she tried to poison you after tomorrow."

"But I am immune to poison."

"She doesn't know that."

We returned to the living room in a mass of conversation, Venetia was already seated next to Dominic who hadn't noticed one bit. So I proceeded to sit next to Claire and Clarissa directly across from him, a secret smile played across my face as Venetia tried to grab his thigh and he shuffled over.

"Lets play a different game now okay?"

"Seven minutes in heaven." Veranese squealed.

"C'mon this isn't high school." Dominic groaned.

"But we're still young, might as well make the most of it." Claire left and came back smiling with an empty wine bottle in her hand. I knew she was intent on getting that seven minutes with Leo. She placed the bottle in the middle and everyone followed the movement, nervous on who they would be forced to kiss. I was probably most nervous, there was no real good turn out for me. Kissing Dominic would have to be the only option on my plate - like at all - but still even that was a lot of pressure.

"Okay who wants to go first?" Claire smiled.

"I will." Venetia smiled, she really was horny wasn't she? I pulled a weird face as she leaned over displaying an excessive amount of cleavage to all six girls sitting across from her - me included. She span the bottle jumping a little as she watched it turn, we all watched it turn. A whine escaped from Veranese's lips as the bottle unfortunately landed on her. I had to hold in a snort as they shrugged, got up and went to the storage cupboard visible from the room. I was not surprised nobody had to 'convince' them to do it, they just up and went.

Claire coughed, "Sluts." Abrielle snickered.

I sat with my nose crunched up thinking about what they might actually be doing in there. "I doubt they're actually doing it." Taddeo spoke up. Uberto nodded in agreement.

Seven minutes passed, Claire stood rubbing her palms together and went to open the door. We all watched as she flung the door open and squealed. "What the f-ck!" she stepped back, "They're actually doing it."

Rocco got up,walked over and pulled the girls apart. I watched with wide eyes as they wiped their mouths on their sleeves and cringed as I saw their lipstick colours had mixed. Disgusting.

"Whose turn is it now?" Venetia sat down next to Dominic once more. He had his head in his palm, rubbing his temple. "Dominic, how about you have a go."

"No." Dominic replied looking up once again and glaring at her.

"That wasn't a question. Its your turn silly. We'll go clockwise." Venetia smiled.

"F-ck this." he swore. I had a feeling that they played this game all too often and the main objective was for the girls to score seven minutes with Dominic. That much was obvious. Although the other guys in the room were attractive also, this entire time I noticed all the girls paying extra special attention to Dominic. Aside from Claire obviously who'd had her eyes glued to Leo ever since we sat down. Dominic span the bottle and horrifyingly enough it landed on Claire, she made a weird sound then knocked the bottle again and it began spinning.

Clarissa tried to act uninterested but I noticed her glance over to the bottle at least fifteen times before it came to a stop right in front of...

Me or Clarissa?

It - of course - had to stop right in the middle of the both of us, why I'd chosen to sit next to her I had no f-ckng idea but it'd surely f-cked with me now. This was it, this was the moment that one of us would have to adios. Up and go. Sayounara. He would pick one, she would be the one, unless of course...

"No."

"No?" Claire raised her brows looking at her brother like 'are you serious?'.

"No." Dominic confirmed. Claire got up walked around then started slapping his arms, his head and his throat repeating over and over 'you're-an-i-diot. no-no?! i-di-ot.'

"Ow, Claire get off." Dominic swatted her arms away, she huffed and went back to her seat. Then huffed again as she crossed her arms.

"Choose now or I'm telling mom." she threatened.

His eyes widened, "What?"

"Choose n-" she started to repeat but her cut her off.

"I heard what you said. Stop being so butt-hurt Claire, it has nothing to do with you."

"You're waisting everybody's time Dominic."

I looked at Clarissa who had this broken look on her face. I tapped her shoulder, "Can I talk to you for a second?"

"Whilst your not wearing underpants?"

"Seriously?" I drooped my eyelids.

"Da, you may." she got up and walked out. I followed her. She stopped walking some distance down the hall and turned around, arms still crossed. I shuffled my feet a little as I came to a stop, my head hung whilst I struggled to find the right words.

"Why are you sad?"
