Enemy By Imagine Dragons goes hard :)))
OC by @Ypuppuppp
Shadow the Hedgehog.
The G.U.N agent you feared as an ultimate enemy, was standing right before you. In his gloved hand, the dark hedgehog held your tattered helmet that was left behind in Floral Forest, disrespectfully tossing its decorated form onto the ground as if it was a piece of trash.
A deep growl escaped your throat, your (e/c) eyes narrowing like daggers at Shadow. He looked at you all the same, angry and threatening. He pointed in your direction.
"(N/n). Surrender yourself."
"No." Sonic had come to your support like he promised, standing between you and his 'friendly' rival. You were still safely on top of the light post. Shadow took notice, and was confused as to why this hero was gesturing to protect you.
"Move to the side hero, or else anyone who gets in my way is my enemy." Shadow took another step towards you, and Sonic held out a hand to stop him from advancing.
"Geez, eeeeverybody just wants to be my enemy huh?-" You were unamused...
"(Y/n) is on our side, she's been helping save hundreds over the past few days." The hedgehog boys kept taking steps closer, trying to size each other up. Shadow was a little taller than Sonic, but the blue hero's voice was louder. "ROUGE was supposed to tell you but I guess she felt that wasn't important, and now we got too many problems."
"It's true Shadow, I've been trying to tell you this whole time. Oouf." A deep voice called from the truck, stumbling out of the passenger door and into the street. The dust the truck kicked up hid their form, but the bright colors of the sunrise could never hide from your eyes.
Gante.
"Gante!" You yelled, smiling at seeing the big dragon step forwards and almost slipping off the lamp post from excitement.
"(Y/n). STOP. Stay up there." Gante stepped towards Shadow, the hedgehog about to jump at you to start a fight. The dragon knelt down, picking up your helmet. " You don't dare disrespect a new hero. Remember, you used to help Eggman help take over the world until you knew better."

"(N/n) always knew what she was doing. And she needs to be stopped AGAIN." Shadow turned on his allies and flew towards you with his rocket shoes, even taking Sonic by surprise. Omega was hesitant as well, as he believed Sonic was telling the truth. You hadn't harmed anyone.
"(Y/N!" Your friend yelled, trying to intercept the angry Shadow from clawing at you.
The dark hedgehog threw a punch towards you, barely breezing past the (f/c) fur on your left cheek, (optional) right below your famous scar. Your eyes widened and your pupils dilated like a monster's daggers set on destroying prey.
With a roar, you spun, kicking at Shadow's side. The motion threw you off the lamppost, landing a few feet below.
Shadow quickly returned, going in for more violent attacks. "Stand down (N/n). Come into custody so we don't have to worry about you anymore."
One after another, you dodged attacks side to side. "I'm here to help!" You saw a string in the moment for changing the tide of this conflict, turning on your offensive power but throwing punches, and spin dashing into drop kicks. Shadow, despite his prowess, was stunned to the side. "AND MY NAME-!"
You went in for another kick, intentionally missing when you flew by Shadow. When he whipped back around it was too late, you had used the lamp post like a sling shot and came back at him even faster, "IS (Y/N!".
Your impact sent Shadow flying backwards, right into the truck. He gasped at the impact, eyes wide as he arched his back in pain. He was stunned at your abilities, a fight he wish he could be doing under better circumstances, but the horde was still approaching.
Shadow was ready to get back up, kneeling down to use his jet boots again, however Sonic both stepped in the way to stop him. "Listen PAL, you either trust (Y/n) right now or you fight this horde alone. I'm already infected as is and we can't lose you too."
The dark hedgehog narrowed his eyes at Sonic, glancing between him and yourself. Gante was at your side, hanging back your helmet and placing a hand on your shoulder to make sure you were ok.

While Sonic and Shadow argued in the background, Gante and you caught up quickly. The dragon spoke first. "You seem to be doing fine."
"I was- but I'm still not a fan of your trucker friend there." Your eyes narrowed at Shadow whenever he looked at you as well. Gante blocked th view to get you to calm down, and you sighed at him. "-but thanks for returning my helmet. I got used to not having to use it though. I think I like it when people can see me."
"I see. But regardless, it's your's."
"𝚈𝙾𝚄𝚁 𝙱𝙸𝙾𝙻𝙾𝙶𝙸𝙲𝙰𝙻 𝙴𝙼𝙾𝚃𝙸𝙾𝙽𝚂 𝙰𝚁𝙴 𝙶𝙴𝚃𝚃𝙸𝙽𝙶 𝙸𝙽 𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝚆𝙰𝚈 𝙾𝙵 𝙾𝚄𝚁 𝙿𝚁𝙸𝙼𝙰𝚁𝚈 𝙼𝙸𝚂𝚂𝙸𝙾𝙽." Both conversations were cut short when Omega interrupted. "𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙷𝙾𝚁𝙳𝙴 𝙲𝙾𝙽𝚃𝙸𝙽𝚄𝙴𝚂 𝚃𝙾 𝙼𝙰𝚁𝙲𝙷 𝙰𝙽𝙳 𝙸 𝙼𝚄𝚂𝚃 𝙴𝙽𝙳 𝚃𝙷𝙴𝙸𝚁 𝙰𝙳𝚅𝙰𝙽𝙲𝙴. 𝙸𝙼𝙼𝙴𝙳𝙸𝙴𝚃𝙻𝚈𝙰𝙽𝙳𝚅𝙸𝙾𝙻𝙴𝙽𝚃𝙻𝚈"
"The robots right, we need to focus up." You stepped forwards, getting back the missions at hand. Gante stepped forwards, your original duo back at it again, and despite the seriousness of the situation you couldn't help but feel empowered and happy inside.
"The horde is arriving and Rouge is getting the refugees to this spot. Shadow and Omega can you hold down the fort?" Gante stared towards the two members of team Dark, who didn't say much but agreed silently.
"Sonic." Gante looked to the hero. "Go take a run, and regroup with Rouge."
"Righty o' chief. Good luck. And Shadow, don't touch anything. If you get infected you should be able to run it off like I can."
Shadow scoffed at the hero's comment, "Coward's run, I win."
"Whatever man. See you later. Good luck!" Sonic waved to the group and took off. Now, there was no stopping Shadow if he turned his back again, and you made sure to tell him that...
"Shadow, I know you don't like me, but right now we have more important things to fight about, to fight for. I'll give you a personal apology later if it'll make you feel any better, little baby man." You snickered at your little insult and ran off to join Rouge's escort before Shadow could retaliate. Gange kept a small smile of pride hidden at your courage to even say that.
The two of you ran towards Rouge's group, the refugee's running ahead of you while Rouge kept up the back with some soldiers. Sonic already managed to run his lap around the city and made it to Rouge with more stamina.
The refugees, although terrified, were all still rather slow, and the advance took around 30 minutes to reach the truck. You hide the refugee's in a protected alleyway. They remained silent while you peeked around the corner, noticing the large horde ahead of you still engaged with the truck. Omega was fighting viciously of course, but Shadow was nowhere to be seen. Maybe he was on the other side of the truck.
Rouge flew back and settled down on the rooftop, looking rather nervous... "Sonic, I think you need to go take care of Shadow."
"Take care of him? I think you're the only person he listens to." Sonic turned to the bad with one eyebrow raised in slight confusion.
A deep groan and heavy footsteps began to round the corner. A creature with ruby red quills was now a stagnant, rust shiny while black turned to carbon fiber steel. Eyes glowed like fluorescents and rough hands turned to claws, ready to strick.
Everyone was shocked to see Shadow, had been infected and turned into a zombot.
It was short but he's gone. RIP Shadow. I know they just took him out early in the comics because of how strong he is, but they did it in a rather poor way.
ANYWAYS, I had my birthday and it was the worst day ever :)
So now I'm writing to get through it. Some drama and betrayal. Lovely.

The Stars Have Eyes
The universe was a vast, empty, dark, and uncaring place. Then life happened, and the universe was changed forever. Only a teeny-tiny bit, but definitely different. Then again, the universe changes a teeny-tiny bit every second of every day. For instance, if someone were to get off the couch and randomly drink a glass of milk? Bam! One less glass of milk in the universe. Changed forever. Well, excluding any time-travel shenanigans, but anyone who puts a big old hole in the time-space continuum just to un-drink a glass of milk should really reevaluate their priorities. Unless, of course, they were attempting to prevent some massive catastrophe vis-a-vis said glass of milk. Such a scenario is by no means impossible, as one should never underestimate the importance of calcium. Another important tip for any life forms out there is to keep things in perspective. Some look at the vastness of creation in relation to themselves and go, ‘Man, this sucks!’ These people really need to narrow their focus. Sure, they will never affect anything happening on the other end of the galaxy, but so what? That’s way the heck over there, where it doesn’t matter. Therefore, in order to maintain a healthy mindset, it is important to narrow one’s perspective to the things and people that affect them, and that they can affect in turn. But what happens if one is an unfathomable cosmic being from beyond the veil of reality? What happens when such an existence is capable of influencing entire swathes of the universe just by its presence? A creature such as Magh'rathlak the Observer? That particular entity is only about average as far as reality-warping creatures from the dawn of time go, so its influence over the fabric of reality is rather limited. And it still struggles to keep things in perspective. That, among other things, is why it decided to narrow its worldview a bit by compressing the maddening vastness of its being into a single corporeal form. Magh'rathlak had never tried such a feat, but that wasn't about to stop it. After all, how hard could being human possibly be?
