《It's Just As Cold Outside -[ Sonic Reader Insert ]》[20] Robot v Robots

Sonic's eyes widened, "Wait, no! These are not Eggman robots. They're victims of the metal virus and we;ll turn them back." He began to follow after Omega.
The robot stomped through the streets, shooting at anything that was metallic and moved. When suddenly, he lunged forwards with boosters on his legs, pumping a zombot and just- grabbing one.
Sonic skidded to a halt as you rushed to meet him, seeing what Omega had just snatched... "Hey I'm not fast like you gu- WOAH!"
The robot and the blue hedgehog must have been fighting about the ethics of their decisions to fight against the zombots, as Omega holds it up to you and Sonic.
"𝙸𝚂 𝚃𝙷𝙸𝚂 𝙰 𝚁𝙾𝙱𝙾𝚃?"
Sonic nodded his head side to side, "I- mean technically?"
"𝚆𝙰𝚂 𝚃𝙷𝙸𝚂 𝙲𝚁𝙴𝙰𝚃𝙴𝙳 𝙱𝚈 𝙴𝙶𝙶𝙼𝙰𝙽?"
"Yeah, yeah I guess-..."
"𝚃𝙷𝙴𝙽 𝙸𝚃 𝙼𝚄𝚂𝚃 𝙱𝙴 𝙳𝙴𝚂𝚃𝚁𝙾𝚈𝙴𝙳."
Omega's iron claws gripped the zombot tightly, spinning the upper half of his body and SLAMMING the metallic creature into the concrete below. In a gush of mushy liquid, parts splattered around you.
"Watch where you're smashing things!" You awkwardly dodged side to side, bending your spine or your arms and legs to avoid the biohazardous material. Surprisingly quickly, the foe reformed, rising from the dead once again.
The robot already began to move on, stomping towards another horde that approached due to the noise. You and Sonic were left by yourselves, jumping away from the revived zombot and onto a safer terrace.
You two watched as Omega made his way through, it was a little- terrifying.. In your mind, you thought of the perfect music for this moment. Ah yes, Doom Eternal. There Omega goes, pummeling rhodes of enemies with no remorse. It made you laugh until Sonic spoke up.
"Well, I suppose he's not actually damaging these guys." The blue hedgehog shrugged, sliding down a drainage pipe back onto the ground. "Let's get moving."
"Right away." You agreed, a smile forming on your face as the two of you took off towards one of the rendezvous spots appointed by Rouge. The 'Gold Grande Flicky Hotel'.
The two of you rounded a corner, jumping over zombots and avoiding surprise attacks from hidden places. You were no longer immune to these guys, with your helmet missing and your armor slightly on a lighter load, things were more dangerous. And from before, when that Zombot reformed almost instantly, the virus was getting stronger too-
"There!" Your eyes focused on a stacked car barricade, guarded by a giant golden statue of a flicky, pretending to spew water from its beak like an old roman fountain. Rouge was flying above waving her hands to get your attention.

Sonic sped by too fast, not noticing in time to slow down and accidentally went past the alleyway that directed you towards the hotel. "Oops!" He yelled, speeding back in the right direction while you assumed the lead. The alleyway was a trap, incredibly small but a fast shortcut. One person wide, you ran through, light slowly beginning to warm your face as you looked to see Rouge, her mouth agape as if yelling something-
A zombot leaped into the exit of the alleyway. You couldn't go backwards, only up or-
"Duck (Y/n!)" Sonic spin dashed the zombot, breezing over your head and throwing the creature back into the clearing, allowing you to escape safely.
"Good save Sonic!" You carried on, running even faster to the car barricade and parcouring over the sticking the landing in the defended zone.
"Are you ok (Y/n)." Rouge flew down to you and checked for any infection, you were thankfully clear and she patted your shoulders. "I saw the zombot but you couldn't hear me."
"Yeah, Sonic came in with the save." You gave your blue friend a thumbs up, and he gave one back as he followed into the safe car barricade behind you.
"No problem (Y/n)." He winked and joined the conversation. "...and I've been noticing Rouge, does it seem like the zombots are a little sloppy in their siege? I'm taking them out too easily to be having any fun!"
"Yeah- even for Eggman standards." You added, shrugging as you folded your arms into your chest and thought about the differences between when you first encountered the zombots, to now- the difference was very noticeable.
"Yes actually." Rouge was about to speak when a group of soldiers were overwhelmed by a small crowd of zombots pushing through the barrier, their groans escaping into the atmosphere, those horrid sounds of despair.
She shook her head and refocused, "The virus has already mutated, and Eggman may not even be controlling them anymore."
"That's no good." Sonic sighed, tapping his foot on the group rapidly in anticipation. He was also noticeable more shiny, the virus spreading after he spindashed into the one to save you.
"Hey- Sonic, I think you should go for a run buddy." You hesitantly pulled your hand back. You thought about putting a hand on his shoulder but played it safe and held it back.
"Yeah, good idea. Rouge, do you know where Shadow is?" Sonic turned to look back to the city, wherever Shadow may be.
Shadow... no... You did NOT want to see him, who knows the chaos that may unfold. And your worried face caused alarming concern to the other two in your group.

"Whoa (Y/n), if I run into that hot sauce hedgehog I'll tell him about your situation ok?" Sonic tried to cheer you up and take the blow, but you know it would be rough no matter what.
You took a deep breathe and shook your hands, "Ok. Ok. thank you." You tried to smile again, there were more important things than correcting a bad history.
Your hedgehog hero nodded and began to speed off once Rouge told him where Shadow would be headed. "I'll catch you girls later. Stay alive for me will ya!"
Rouge let out a chuckle at Sonic's charisma, and began to give out some more instructions. You stayed, helping survivors into a truck located in the back of the building.
. . . . .
Sonic POV
'I still feel great despite this virus. I wouldn't let this little metal parasite best me, Sonic the Hedgehog! I'm a hero right. I gotta protect these people. WHOA, speaking of which.'
I raced to a corner where people were trapped and began to clear the way. I had to be creative- I can;t touch anything really, even the zombots. I couldn't risk any more infection after taking that hit for (Y/n).
The streets were difficult to run though, I couldn't even find a straight route because of all the groups of zombots waddling around. 'Nothing I can't handle.'
However once again- Omega decided to bullet reign on my parade.
"Buddy! You gotta stop leading the Zombots towards the hotel. People still need time to escape."
"𝙱𝚄𝙳𝙳𝚈. 𝚆𝙴 𝙰𝚁𝙴 𝙽𝙾𝚃 𝙵𝚁𝙸𝙴𝙽𝙳𝚂. 𝚈𝙾𝚄 𝙰𝚁𝙴 𝙸𝙽 𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝚆𝙰𝚈 𝙾𝙵 𝙼𝚈 𝙼𝙰𝚂𝚂𝙰𝙲𝚁𝙴." The robot froze, turning to face me, where I HAD TO DODGE out of the way when crazy Omega went to punch a zombot right behind me, disregarding who was in the way of his 'massacre'.
"But still, we need to move them out of this area!" More and more Zombots began to approach. Surrounding us. We were back to back and this metal hung was very pushy.
"𝚃𝙾𝙾 𝙼𝙰𝙽𝚈 𝚃𝙰𝚁𝙶𝙴𝚃𝚂." Omega added behind me.
"Huh!?"
"𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙴𝙽𝙴𝙼𝚈 𝙸𝚂 𝙰𝙳𝚅𝙰𝙽𝙲𝙸𝙽𝙶 𝙵𝚁𝙾𝙼 𝙰𝙻𝙻 𝚂𝙸𝙳𝙴𝚂."
I looked over to the side- and on an overpass bridge, I saw the second horde advancing towards us. People might call me a cocky hero and I;d believe them, but now- I actually felt frightened.
. . . . .
Reader // Y/n POV
You were racing towards where SOnic had sped off to. Rouge's little device that took the signatures from the zombots to show how many there were was about to overload with how many were coming. You were on your way to rescue Sonic. "I'm on my way Sonic, hold on. Stay alive for me."
You requoted what he had told you, something you should of said in the first place when he was the on putting himself in danger in the first place.
"HIYA!" You threw/shot your (w/c) at zombots that tried to stop your sprint, picking them up when you ran by. "Coming through!"
Using reforming zombot mush below like a trampoline you jumped up onto a rooftop to get a look around. And you spotted Sonic, who had re-encountered Omega, being circled by a horde.
Your (e/c) eyes widened when you looked past them, another horde that rose and fell like a violent metal wave, tramping each other over a giant bridge. Your jaw dropped and you hesitated, but no. NO. 'I need to save them.
"Sonic!" You yelled from above, unsure of what to do.
The hero looked up and you and held out a hand, as if to stop you. "(Y/n), no! Get out of here while you can. I'll just run off. Go help the others!"
"I'm not leaving you!" You jumped onto a lamp post, balancing along the top of the bar. You gripped onto the pole and tried to lean over to get Sonic to grab your hand, despite your best judgment, even if your hand was protected. Like a cat on a tree branch too small for it, the pole began to lean over, unsupported by your weight.
"(Y/n). I'm serious, GET OUTTA HE-"
"HOONK. HONK. HOOOOOOOOONK."
Everyone, even the zombots, froze and looked to the massive horn being blaring across the bridge. A mound of infected were being pushed to the side at massive speeds. You narrowed your eyes at whatever might be coming.... BOOM! A semi truck absolutely just plows through all these zombots, tossing them around, squishing them below the tires or just straight up splattering them.
Sonic cheered, and you smiled. Rescue! You waved them down and the massive truck came skidding to a halt. Some of the impacted zombots came flying back, completely knocked out when they hit the poll below, shaking it violently as it was unsettled by your weight.
Like a cartoon character, you frantically threw your arms around to reattach yourself to the pull, thankfully managed to wrap yourself around it safely. You pulled yourself up again, and watched the driver dismount the vehicle, and to your dismay, the bright red quills of a black hedgehog stepped out of the passenger door, looking quite pissed.
