《KATANA ~ a MHA fanfic》Chapter 13 - Impossible

Todoroki was now pinning her to the ground with his right hand while holding up a flame in his left. The assassin was stuck, unable to do anything since he froze her legs and sat on top of her. He leaned in to have a closer look and see who the troublesome girl was.
Katana didn't want him to see who she was and turned to the side. But that didn't help her case at all. So, the white haired girl acted fast and did what she had to do.
She lifted her head up as much as she could and kissed him. He was taken aback, but to her surprise he kissed back. His flame slowly died out in his hand but the one in his kiss didn't.
His grip on her arms loosened and she took the chance to put her hands on his face. Katana pulled out of the kiss and their eyes met. He looked horrified and like he was about to say something. But he was cut off by the white haired girl.
"Was I that bad of a kisser?" she smirked and waited for him to say something, prepared to activate the brainwashing quirk.
"I..."
His eyes turned white and his whole body stood still. Katana ordered him to get off of her and used fire to melt the ice covering her legs. Just as she was about to leave, she turned around to look at him. He was struggling to move. She walked towards him and stopped to whisper in his ear.
"Sorry, but I can't have you mess this up." and with that, she left and went after Shinso.
I'm struggling to get out of her spell. How can she have ice, fire and brainwashing as a quirk? Perhaps it's a copy quirk? No, she never touched Shinso so that can't be it... Whatever it was, I need to get out fast.

The kiss caught me by surprise and I let my guard down. I wonder though, why was it so easy for me to melt into it? Her soft lips against mine gave me a sense of comfort I haven't felt in a long time.
I didn't get a good look on her face before the kiss but... It felt like we've done that before. The way our lips were a perfect match and had a rhythm to the kiss that we both knew... The only other person I've felt that way with was...
But it's impossible, it can't be.
Right?

Katana was running in the direction of the purple haired pro, trying her best not to be seen. She heard Anna grunt from a distance, which meant she already was in a fight. The white haired girl ignited a flame in her hand for light and ran towards them.
Suddenly, she felt a scarf looking thing wrap itself around her leg. As it pulled her she fell to the ground and used fire to burn it.
It didn't work.
Another scarf wrapped itself around her opposite arm and somehow she found herself standing up again. Emerging out of the shadows was the purple haired pro. Along with him was a tied up Anna, who was being dragged on the ground.
"That fire is not going to work. Now, would you please tell me why I'm being attacked?" he said as he walked towards her.
Katana swiftly drew out her sword and cut the scarf off. Before he could blink she held it against his throat with a look that could kill.
"We'll be the ones to ask the questions here." Anna answered him just in case he activated his quirk on Katana.
He didn't move a muscle but his eyes told them that he understood.

"And don't even think about using that quirk of yours, or else Anna here will be happy to give you a little headache."
He gulped.
"Speaking of headaches, wanna explain how and why you've been giving me a few these last couple of days?" Katana slightly moved away from him, but just enough for him to be able to talk.
"What are you talking about?"
"You have been inside my head a few times now and it's getting annoying. So how about you explain?" she said, her words as sharp as her look.
"I only have one quirk, and I'm pretty sure you know what it is. Even if I wanted to I can't be inside your head, whatever you mean by that." the brainwash quirk user said as calmly as he could, knowing that she would slice his throat if he tried something.
"Then why are you in them?" Katana couldn't help but feel frustrated, like she was back at square one again.
"In what?" his purple eyes met her ocean blue ones.
"My... visions. You were in them. As a little boy, as a preteen... Your quirk... it messes with your head, maybe there's more to it than you think." she said, her voice shaking slightly as she felt another headache coming in.
There was pain in her voice. These girls were not villains or street thugs looking for a fight. It's just a girl looking for answers and a friend helping her out...
I felt her frustration when I looked into her eyes. I don't know why but, I wanted to take it all away from her. Like I wanted to with...
But it's impossible, it can't be.
Right?

The assassin suddenly dropped her katana and held onto her head.
"No no not again!" she cried out.
Anna had found her way to the katana on the ground and cut herself free by rubbing against it. She quickly activated her quirk on Shinso to keep him from running away.
"Breathe, you've managed alright the other times. You just gotta do it once more..." Anna tried to calm her sister down who had tears streaming down her face.
"Tell me what you see."
"I-I see a building a-and a lot of people walking towards it." she struggled to get her words out as her headache gradually intensified.
"Keep going."
"N-now I f-find myself... s-sitting? It looks like a-an auditorium... Wait now I'm i-in the c-city? N-no, there's teenagers around me... a-a-and I see a roof!" Anna nodded as she took in Katanas words.
"I'm flying, o-or jumping towards a... robot? Or a monster? I-I can't see it very clearly, but it's huge."
In a flash, the vision and head as he ended. Though, her head was still pounding because of all the tension. Katana was on the ground and panting loudly. Her black haired sister walked towards Shinso angrily, thinking he had something to do with it.
"No, stop!"

To Become a Troll: A Monster Evolution Story
Thrust into the supernatural world of the deep forest, Paul finds himself in a situation where he could find himself prey to pretty much every other creature and animal around. If he's to survive, he must shed his weak form to grow stronger and survive. But the forest is full of creatures beyond human understanding, that act without the need for food or shelter and that seem to exist for the sole purpose of dragging humans to the bottom of a murky river. Is it really possible to kill such creatures when your only strength is physical prowess? --- A monster evolution story based on Swedish creature mythology. The focus will overwhelmingly be on the progression of the main character and his slow increase in strength. Although many of the creatures are based on Swedish creature mythology, I have taken creative liberties in order to ensure that evolution lines and the such are in line with the usual. The main thought I had when going into this is that I want to delay the "meeting a human" section as much as possible. My plan is to get him to endgame levels of strength before even sniffing the possibility of seeing a human. Whether I'm actually able to do this remains to be seen, but I'm holding my thumbs! Also, I'm aware that there are other troll evolution stories, but this is unrelated to them. They can do their stuff and I'll do mine, but this is in no way related to any of them. That said, hope you enjoy it!

Child of the Ancients: An Apocalypse LitRPG
It all started in the middle of Dante's nap. He wanted to sleep his life away, but the system denied his request. Instead, it began to transform the Earth, integrating it into the multiverse by granting everyone stats and skills. He was talented, or so the system thought. And that meant he needed to be challenged. After being sent into a deadly cavern, Dante strives for the future he's always desired. But when he learns about the secrets hidden within him, he's shaken to his very core. He wishes for the nightmare to end until something goes wrong. [The world will end in one year.] Instead of everyone receiving a relatively gentle tutorial, the people of Earth are deemed redundant. Dante makes it his goal to save as many people as he can before the world ends, but with billions of lives at stake, he might have to turn into a monster before he can become a hero. Planned updates (2500+ words): M/W/F. 12pm AEST/ 9am EST. M-F during Writeathon. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Author's Note: All system apocalypse novels seem to jump straight over the apocalypse itself, which I find very sad. I don't want this to turn into a typical fantasy novel in about ten chapters. Instead, I hope to explore the destruction of society and how things would look if superpowers suddenly appeared in the real world. Before the real apocalypse happens, of course. There will be base building, and likely romance once things settle down. Also dragons, because they are awesome :)
