《KATANA ~ a MHA fanfic》Chapter 14 - Trust

Anna looked back at her sister confused.
"He didn't do this." the white haired girl slowly stood up, trying to recover.
He was confused and lost for words. He didn't even try to fight back, just listened to what she had to say.
"Look, we got off on the wrong foot. I just don't want that to keep happening to me. So you can understand that we're being aggressive..."
He just nodded and waited for her to continue.
"We are a part of a secret organisation very few know of, and we're after the league of villains. Know that we're not the bad guys here and there's no need to feel threatened."
"So... you're pro heroes?"
"Yes. But lately we've been kinda stuck... so we're looking for people we can trust and exchange information with. Maybe even take down the league alongside them."
She paused and sighed.
"We just thought we could get an answer before asking you to join us..."
"You really think I trust you?" he clenched his fists together at the side.
"No, but trust takes time to build. You're probably feeling bad about getting kicked out of the Zella Mikio case, but understand that this way you'll be able to find out the truth for yourself."
Katanas words technically weren't lies, she just didn't tell him every detail. Both her and her sister thought she did a good job in playing the role.
There was a long pause before he spoke.
"Y-you know about Zella?" he gulped as his fists loosened up.
The girls nodded and he sighed.
"Meet me on the roof of that building tomorrow morning. Bring no weapons, I want to see your quirks in action if you really are heroes." and with that, he turned around and walked away. Since the girls now know that he wasn't responsible for the visions, they let him.

Shinso knew the whole situation was fishy. He knew that they weren't telling him everything, but he's being kept in the dark about the case and enough is enough. He believes that they aren't villains, he truly does, but he doesn't believe they are who they say they are either.
One thing was certain though, if they knew something about the case that could bring Zella home sooner... if she even was alive... he would never forgive himself for not trying.
"I'm gonna bring you home, Micky."

The girls had arrived home and laid on their beds. They were talking about tonights events and how to move forward with this improvised plan of theirs.
"I know you think I just made that up on the spot, but I actually have thought it through."
Anna nodded and listened closely.
"You know the illusion assassin back home? She's on her way as we speak. To get those heroes to trust us, she's going to use her quirk to make it look like villains are after them. Then, one of us will fight her and get hurt. But what they don't know is that she used her quirk to fake it."
"And then they'll think one of us got hurt trying to protect them. Wow Kat, didn't know you were smart!" Anna joked.
The sisters talked for a little while more before drifting off to sleep. The next morning they would be off to meet with the purple haired pro, hoping for the best.
- - -
The girls had arrived at the rooftop and patiently waited for the brainwash quirk user. Their plan was honestly to just try their best with their quirks and to appear as hero-like as possible.
"Sorry for keeping you waiting, took me a while to get both of them to agree." a voice was heard behind them.

They turned around to see the man of the hour with an angry ash blonde and tired heterochromia eyes on his sides.
"I thought we were only meeting you?" Anna asked.
"Well, you guys didn't tell me you've been causing trouble for these two. So I thought you could explain some things to all three of us." the purple eyed hero said annoyed, their partnership is already falling apart.
The girls looked at each other before answering him.
"What do you want to know?"
"Well for starters, how long have you been in this city?"
"Since the night two fighters almost took down Shigaraki."
"So that idiot was right, he did see two fighters on the rooftop." the ash blonde spoke.
"The green haired one? Could you please tell him I'm sorry for, you know, throwing a knife into his leg?" Anna asked and slightly smiled.
"Tch, whatever."
"How do we know that you told me the truth last night? You had attacked both me and Shoto right before, and now you expect us to work with you?"
Katana sighed and reached for her pocket. The three pros immediately went into a fighting stance, thinking she would pull out a weapon.
"Relax, it's just a note." she walked up to them and handed it over.
"It's just a stupid list of names." the crimson eyed hothead said annoyed.
"No... not just any names. I recognise a few. This is names of the leagues members, correct?" the icy hero spoke.
"But how? This is all 8 of them, the police only has 4..." the brainwash quirk user asked.
"Consider this the first step of building trust. Now, you wanted to see our quirks in action?"
The pros all backed up and got ready to fight. First up was the impatient blonde against Anna.
"I'm not going easy on you." he said as they circled each other.
"Good, me neither."
He leaped forward and got ready to blast her face. Instead of dodging and jumping towards him, she jumped to the right to avoid him being able to counterstrike with another blast.
"I could see right through you."
Annoyed, he formed a circle with one hand and held the other up against it.
"Let's see how well you do against THIS!"
It looked like shiny bullets were shooting out of his hand. Katana took a step back because of how startled she got of the sudden explosions.
Anna dodged them as swiftly as she could. When she got an opening, she activated her quirk on him. His explosive bullets were flying everywhere and he couldn't aim right. The black haired assassin intensified his dizziness which made him fall to his knees. She took the chance to leap forward and kick him down so he was on his back. He stopped shooting and kicked her back.
If there's a person who's more easily irritated than Bakugo, it's Anna. She intensified his dizziness even more, so much that she was starting to feel dizzy herself and lose energy. He fell to the ground once more, frustrated cause he couldn't get up. Anna used the last of her energy to punch his face before she fainted herself.
"So, dizziness huh? Impressive." the red and white haired boy spoke.

Midthalion Saga
+++Working on new chapters. Share what I've posted with your friends and family! Be sure to build strong bonds with those who are important to you. We only have each other in this world for so long!+++ Can Roderick XXIII gather together and train a party of adventurers to clear out Madeon Caves and bring peace to the wildmarches of Midthalion? Sent from his home monastery in the west to the wildmarches of Midthalion, Roderick the Holy Avenger is devoted to living out his oath to bring the Holy Light to the dark corners of the world. He enlists the help of an old friend, Ulrich Vogelbrandt the dwarf druid, to train and prepare a fighting force capable of defending the west from the evil they both see gathering and growing in the east. Eoroth is an ode to Tolkienesque epic fantasy, Robert E Howard and H.P. Lovecraft's pulp fiction, and Gygaxian Dungeons & Dragons. I like to write about serious topics because I think it's fun. I hope it makes for a fun read. Place: Eoroth, a vast, flat world with many continents set in oceans that reach out and mingle with the Celestial Sea. Our story takes place on the continent of Thalion in the middle, unsettled region called Midthalion. Peoples: Races in Eoroth aren't different species; the species of man is just incredibly diverse, consisting of many known races (and perhaps some unknown). There are no humans in Thalion. Thalion's races include variations of elves, dwarves, halflings (billowits), pierros (clownish men), bergeracs (long-nosed and swarthy men of honour), orcs, trolls, goblins, and hobgobs. The Church: There's one dominant religion in Westhalion. The faith of the elves is an analogue to Roman Catholicism while the dwarves practice an Eastern Orthodox analogue. (Forgive me for not having figured out names yet.) The practitioners worship a triune god (the All-Father, Son-of-All, and Holy Light). There are many powers in heaven, all created by God. These include the Twelve High Thrones, individual, created beings who take on the role of guiding mankind in different aspects, drawing them closer and closer to God. (That should be the essentials. I could write pages on the theology. Comment where something's unclear in the story.) Natural World: There are plants and animals in Eoroth, but the world is also inhabited by spirits called aeons. Aeons are transformative beings; in the wild, they'll change based on whatever is happening nearby. Pollute a pond? Expect to see toxic toad-men running around. Leave a bunch of dead bodies strewn across a battlefield? Expect the place to become haunted with ghouls and ghasts. Druids are important for making sure that the aeons are pacified; that their needs are met so that they don't become rampaging monsters. Where the wilderness becomes overgrown, so too do the aeons. Aeons and People: Long ago, men learned how to trap aeons in stone tablets and use them for war. Now, anyone can capture an aeon into a special staff made by a druid. Men train, raise, and bond with these aeons. Druids often build entire ranches devoted to raising healthy aeons as allies and companions. Aeons are divided into twelve known families, and the church sees these as corresponding with the Twelve Thrones in Heaven. Direction: My goal is to get the story to one million words by June next year. I have tons of content in mind for the world. I want to release novels set in different ages of the world depicting different historical events. I hope to expand the setting into a tabletop role-playing game as well as a series of old-school JRPGs. But, it all begins with writing some stories and publishing my novels.
