《Pantala High School》Blue 3

Blue and Luna had been invited by Swordtail to come watch a football game over at his house. Swordtail was a massive football fan and had been dedicated to teaching Blue the rules.
It didn't bode well for Swordtail.
"Why don't they just throw the ball across the line?" Blue asked as one of the teams scored a touchdown. "Surely it would be easier then running it across."
Swordtail answered patiently. "Because it's against the rules. You can only throw to other players."
Blue nodded slowly. Sports were usually lost on him. "Why did he just run out of bounds? I thought you said that was a bad thing?"
"It's a strategy. Sometimes it is better for the ball to get out of bounds and start over."
"Well how was this time better than last time?"
"Last time the other team had the ball and it was good that we forced them out of bounds. This time, we wanted to get it out of bounds to save the strategy."
"....ok?" Blue said. He was quiet for a bit. "Which team is ours, again?"
"The ones in blue and orange." Luna put in helpfully, not taking her eyes off the tv. "The other team is in green. and gold." Swordtail was wearing a jersey with the colours of the team he was supporting. It had the numbers '12' in big white print.
Blue scrunched his face in confused thought. He decided it was safer to just watch and stop asking questions. The mysterious football strategies were completely lost on him.
Eventually, halftime started and cheerleaders did a short performance on the field. Swordtail stood up and asked if they wanted a hotdog. The three of them went into the kitchen to get some food.

"So did you finish your driving test?" Swordtail asked Luna. She smiled.
"Yep! I passed with flying colours."
"And minimal property damage." Said Blue pleasantly.
"Ha." Luna rolled her eyes at her brother. "At least I can go places on my own, now."
"Yeah. That was my favourite part when I got mine." Swordtail said. "Feeling in control, like you can go anywhere you want. It's great."
Blue was back watching the tv. A long winded commercial was playing and he was watching the plot unfold. If anything, Blue enjoyed the commercials.
When the game came back on, Swordtail and Luna became absorbed in the action as Blue stared at the screen blankly.
When the game ended and they celebrated their apparent victory with loud excited yelling and high fives. Then Blue and Luna drove home, laughing at Blue's cluelessness on organized sports.
