After school the gang hung out at the skate park.

"Know how to skate?"

Lynn shook her head.

"Only roller skating, I played derby with the giant fairies."

Lynn muttered a spell in Latin and conjured some skates.

"But I can match your speed long."

Jake huffed at that.

"No way! Plus I'm the amdrag! I rule these streets."

Lynn skated around him.

"If that's so, then let's race! You have nothing to lose right? Or are you all talk!"

Jake struck out his hand.

"You're on!"

Lynn shook it firmly.

"I'll take pleasure in leaving you in my dust."

Rose was designated to start the race.

"You two will be skating from here to the Madison park, go through the troll underbridge, and make it back to here. Rules, no magic, pure skill! On your marks! Ready, set! GO!"

The two raced off, Jake taking the lead. He turned to see Lynn behind.

"You ain't getting anywhere with that speed!"

He yelled. Lynn smirked and turned to the pole next to her. She spun around it giving her momentum and swung off at the right moment flying past Jake.

"See you at the finish line Long!"

She shouted skating down to the park. Jake huffed and took some shortcuts that caught him up to her easily.

"Too bad for you, I know these streets like the back of my hands!"

They slid on the poles of the stairs.

"Good for you! Too bad I'm smart."

Lynn jutted her hip to him and knocked him unbalanced. Jake sputtered.

"Foul play man!"

"No magic, never said anything about tricks."

From then on it became a war. Jake retaliated with hotdogs clogging her skates. To literally fighting mid skate. By the time the two made it back to the park they were a wrestling ball of skates. Trixie couldn't even tell who got there first.

"Guys, it's a draw, y'all were so wild I couldn't tell who's foot, hand, or leg was what!"

They grumbled but Rose got them to make a truce.

"Come on, if anything, you're both equally matched."

Lynn shrugged at that.

"I dunno, if I had used my magic, I would have won easily."

The dragon huffed but then paused.

"Honestly, if you's can poof some skates you can probably poof some obstacles too. I'm chill with evenly matched in..normal terms."

Lynn rolled her eyes but she held out her fist.

"Alright, truce,."

They laughed it off until Jake got a call from Fu.

'Yo?'

'Jakie its bad, there's some Orcs destroying stuff leading to the troll area. If they keep on going on their path they are gonna start a war!'

Lynn patted Jakes arm.

"Let's go!"

Jake was about to tell her she couldn't come but she created a flapping platform.

"Come on! This spell doesn't last forever and I bet I can get there before you!"

Jake rose to the challenge and they headed off. Rose watched with Trixie and Spud.

"Should we tell them it's the other-nope, never mind, they got It."

The three laughed as they watched the two U-turn in the middle of the fricking sky.Once they arrived Jake swooped in to the Orcs.

"Hey! What's your deal man?"

One Orc was smashing a tree and turned to him.

"We are smashing, no problem for dragon to fix."

Jake sighed.

"Yeah, but your heading towards Troll lands!"

The orc paused before continuing smashing.

"Then we fight Trolls. Orcs no smash in long time."

Jake growled and stood his ground.

"I can't let you do that yo."

The orcs all started huffing.

"Then orc will smash Dragon!"

They all targeted Jake while he tried to lead them away from the Trolls. Lynn conjured some shields to protect herself as she dodged the orcs swinging arms. Lynn turned in time to see Jake punched harshly to the side.

"Oh no! Jake! You oafs! Smash something your own size!"

Lynn grabbed her head band and it had inscriptions on them.

"Gaia köt jerïo hūę"

her headband glowed with her eyes and she conjured a Gollum made from the dirt. Lynn ran over to Jake.

"Dragon wake up, I can not finish this fight for you. I am stalling but you must get up!"

Jake groaned as he stood up. Lynn gasped as she came up with a plan.

"I need you to find a space for them to smash freely that won't cause any trouble!"

Jake turned to her concerned.

"Can you hold up for that long?"

Lynn nodded.

"I'll be right back! AmDrag's got this."

He flew overhead and searched for a better place for the orcs. Jake gasped as he found they smashed most places.

"they really weren't kidding. I can't find any new places or stuff to smash."

Jake gasped with a realization.

"But maybe I can make one."

Jake used his fire to mold rocks and stones. He gathered a lot of different things left over from the orcs last smash area and reused them. Jake took one last look at his work before stopping himself as he heard a shout.

"JAKE!!"

Lynn was on her knees trying to keep her Gollum alive. The orcs were having fun but this magic was draining her mana. Her hands were flickering and she gave a shout hoping the dragon would hurry it up. Jake flew just in time as Lynn's mana ran out. She was trying to regain her breath as the orcs grew angry that their dummy crumbled away.

"Hey orcs! I found new smashing grounds and they are way better than this area."

The orcs scratched their heads and Jake sighed. He spat fire at the leader.

"Come and get me meat head!"

That made him angry and Jake got the orcs to follow him. Once they got to the clearing the orcs began to have fun with jakes smashing pit. The more they smashed stuff the more obstacles they could make. It was smart and Lynn had to really give Jake credit on it.

"Good idea dragon. Mind giving a lift?"

Jake winced as she leaned heavily on the tree.

"Yeah, no worries, you good?"

She was put on his back.

"Sure, I just put a lot of mana into that spell, it's not easy being a witch without a wand. Sure I can cast bigger spells but I only have my own mana to work out of. Wands assist in ways I would love to have. Sadly, none are compatible with me."

Jake nodded. He was curious to know how she was different from normal witches.

"Can I ask something? What's with y'all and cats?"

Lynn laughed.

"Well, in old times mages would need familiars to help them. Now a days familiars are for alchemists or other submages. They usually carry out delivering things or to help a low magic mage."

It was finally time to head home and Lynn said her farewells.

"Don't worry, I got enough mana to get home and recharge see you soon long."

She opened a random door that led her to the council. Lynn grumbled glaring at her mentor.

"Don't give me that look, we must know your progress."

She sighed and turned to the great masters.

"The dragon is so far adequate and even clever in his duties. I assisted today and I think he is well enough to handle most situations alone. This one however required a small set of hands because of his plan."

The council mumbled and the grand leader spoke.

"And what of his destiny, any clues to the dark dragon."

Lynn shook her head.

"No signs of dark auras were around and I couldn't sense any shadowlings as well. Perhaps with time the dark dragon will make some presence but he is currently holding back."

The council grumbled but agreed. It was smart of the foe to not immediately make a presence. Lynn was about to speak more but she dropped to her knees. Her mentor gasped and helped her up.

"Sorry, I may have used my charm for a spell. I thank you for your time masters."

They sent her off to regain her mana and her mentor lectured her. By the time she was all charged up she was to be resting. Lynn was still a agent for them so she couldn't be with Jake all the time. From time to time she did help or have him call her in. Lynn handed him a beaded bracelet.

"It's a bit like a talisman. Breath your fire into this bead and it can call me. But use it for emergencies. Blow fire into this bead for special things that need my magic. I can assist you better if you use that one."

Jake nodded and smiled sadly at her.

"You sure you can't stay with us longer? I feel like it's been forever since we last saw you."

Lynn winced at that. It has been a month since her last visit and she was getting spread out with her jobs.

"I know, but it's all planned by the council. The less I'm with you the more likely your fate will kickstart."

Jake was still confused on that but she had already left by then.
