The Crystal Gems are returning to the Warp Pad in the middle of a flower meadow, discussing their latest Gem monster encounter.

"I can't believe that went so well!" Pearl says happily.

"That was cool Pearl when you hit it with your spear." Y/n says impressed.

"Yeah, and it went, like, "bing-bong!" Amethyst makes explosion sounds.

Pearl just blushes. "And the way you were circling around it? Almost looked like strategy."

Y/n just chuckles. "I was just trying to avoid being hit really." He admits.

Garnet sends a bubbled gem away, as Steven emerges from the meadow with runny eyes and nose.

"Wait up!..." Steven calls panting heavily. "Sorry I couldn't help much, I think the flowers are making me. Ah... Aaah..." Steven then sneezes on Garnet's hip and sniffles. "Sorry, Garnet."

"I'll live." Garnet says unbothered.

"Oh, Steven, you're supposed to sneeze into your antecubital fossa." Pearl says to him.

"My what?" Steven asks confused.

"Your... This thing." Pearl points to Y/n's elbow.

Steven looks at his elbow as the Crystal Gems warp out. They travel through the warp stream when Steven feels the urge to sneeze again.

"Do it at Pearl!" Amethyst quickly cries and points at Pearl.

Pearl panics at this thought. "Steven, your fossa!" She cries.

Steven sneezes downwards however, propelling himself upward in the warp stream. "Oh! Whoa! Wha?" Steven cries breathing heavily. "Whoa."

Steven's head pops out of the warp stream and he is able to see the Warp Space, cackling with lightnings everywhere. He then sees another warp stream, carrying a small object through it.

"Huh?" Steven ponders confused. "Whoa!" Pearl pulls Steven back into the stream.

"Careful! It's dangerous to stick your head out of the stream!" Pearl tells him.

"What's so dangerous about it?" Y/n asks the gems curiously.

"There's not much air, and it's very cold." Garnet explains as she flicks the frozen snot off Steven's nose.

"You guys, I saw something out there!" Steven says outloud now.

"What?" Pearl cries.

"Something warping!" Steven tells them.

"Steven, that's not possible. Is your vision blurry from the pollen?" Pearl suggests.

"I can see perfectly... " Steven says as he squints his eyes. "Pearl? I know there's something out there!"

"There's nothing out there, Steven. There hasn't been anything else for a long, long time." Garnet says now.

Steven looks down as the group continues to warp. Y/n notices this now and puts his hand on Steven's shoulder.

"I could stay the night if you'd like?" Y/n asks Steven who just nods his head.

"Oh!" Pearl cries excitedly. "I'll make tea and get out the sleeping bag and..."

"Heh, I think she's more excited about Y/n staying then you." Amethyst comments to Steven.

It was the middle of the night and Steven is lying in his bed, staring at the ceiling and trying to sleep for the night. Y/n was fast asleep on the Beach house couch with one arm on his torso and the other raised above his head. Steven slowly starts to drift off to sleep, but then snaps himself back awake. He turns to look at the Temple Gate's warp pad, when the kitchen refrigerator suddenly opens, startling him.

"Aaah! Amethyst!" Steven cries loudly causing Y/n in the living room to stir awake.

"Wha..." Y/n starts groggily.

Amethyst was munching on food from the refrigerator. "Hey, Steven! Y/n! You guys want some macaroni cheese?" She asks and continues munching.

Y/n just rubs his tired eyes and sits up a little.

Steven sighs, as Amethyst returns back into the temple, and halts her. "W...wait! I can't sleep."

"Why? Are you scared of that thing you saw warping right into the house and attacking you in your sleep?!" Amethyst teases.

"... No...?" Steven says unsure.

"Oh, good! Good. Nighty night! Don't let the warp monster bite!" Amethyst blows a raspberry and laughs loudly as she enters her room.

"Steven it's fine, The gems were probably right and it was your imagination." Y/n says.

Steven sighs and arms himself with a water gun and stands on guard at the front door. No. I definitely saw something and It looks like I'm not sleeping tonight."

Y/n just sighs as he flips his legs over the couch now. "Move over buddy, I'll give you some company."

It was the next morning and Steven is fast asleep with a water gun in hand, and leaning back on Y/n who in turn had fallen asleep much earlier then the boy against the front door.

"Steven...Y/n..." Pearl says in a sing song voice as she lightly begins poking both Y/n and Steven on their foreheads. "We've got a surprise for you..."

"Aah! Aghh!" Steven cries as he abruptly wakes up and shoots the water gun at Pearl in panic.

"Gah!" Pearl cries as she falls on the floor, drenched.

Y/n wakes up now with the commotion and he stretches uncomfortably. As he does so he notices the Gems more importantly Pearl. "Oh, Pearl...Why are you covered in water?" Y/n sleepily asks.

Garnet reveals a tray of cookies behind her back. "Now you're not getting any cookies Steven."

"Cookies?! I'll take 'em!" Amethyst cries excited.

Garnet whistles Amethyst over, and she grabs the tray of cookies and starts to gobble them all up. "Slow down, Amethyst."

Steven groans now as he gets up. "I'm sorry, Pearl. I just, I guess I didn't..."

"Didn't sleep." Garnet finishes for him.

Steven yawns with visible eye bags. "Maybe."

"Oh, Steven!" Pearl wipes her eyes. "This isn't about the thing you think you saw outside the warp stream yesterday, is it?" She asks.

Amethyst tosses the cookie tray away, making a loud "clang" and startling the others.

"Aw man a cookie would really of hit the spot." Y/n sighs as he looks at the empty tray but at that moment Garnet holds up one in her hand. "Oh thanks Garnet." Y/n says taking it and biting into it.

"But it was real!" Steven says determined. "Something was warping somewhere in the warp!"

Pearl puts both hands on Steven's cheeks. "Listen. Nothing on Earth can use the warps but us. Do you understand?" Pearl asks him but Steven looks away. "Steven, nod in agreement if you understand. Nod in agreement..."

"Why don't we just go and check?" Y/n asks as everyone turns to him and he lowers his cookie slightly. "I'm sure you guys are right, but it really doesn't hurt to check and it'll probably make Steven feel better. If he's wrong you guys can gloat and you have nothing to lose. If Steven's right it means he was more prepared then you for once." Y/n suggests as he bites into his cookie again.

"Then we can go check." Garnet says now and Steven removes Pearl's hands off of his cheeks and nods, smiling gratefully.

Steven first warps Y/n and the Gems back to the flower meadow.

"Nothing unusual." Garnet comments and Steven sneezes.

"Bless you." Y/n says.

The Crystal Gems then warp to the Geode.

"Nothing here, either. And the geode is holding nicely." Pearl says looking at it.

"I still can't believe Greg used duct tape.." Y/n comments shaking his head.

The Crystal Gems then warp to the Sky Spire.

"Whoa! Now that's something!" Amethyst cries and she points at Steven Jr. nearby, with a pair of kids.

"Steven Jr.'s been busy." Y/n laughs and puts his hand on Steven's head. "This makes you a grandpa!"

Garnet rubs Steven's head gently herself now. "Congratulations."

"Hey! We're getting off task here!" Steven says.

"We've looked all over! There's nothing out here to find!" Pearl tells him now.

"But you're wrong." Steven mumbles and rolls his eyes.

"Excuse me?!" Pearl cries.

Steven looks at Pearl in surprise. "I.I mean..."

"Nothing on Earth can use these warps but us!" Pearl says now.

"Well, what if it came from space?" Steven questions her.

"I... don't appreciate your tone." Pearl says annoyed now.

The Crystal Gems then warp to the Galaxy Warp.

Pearl walks towards to the large warp pad in the centre. "These are the warps that once connected us to other planets. If something tried to come from space, it would be through here. But wait! This warp pad is broken'!' Marked inactive by the very "depressed" cartoon breakfast sticker you placed here yourself!" Pearl points to the sticker.

Amethyst walks up to Steven and nuzzles against him. "Look, Pearl's right, like usual. Ugh! You get used to it."

Garnet places her hand on Steven's head, which he quickly grabs away. "We're safe."

"Well, I guess so." Steven places his hand besides the Crying Breakfast Friends sticker, still unhappy, while the Gems sigh in relief.

"Oh, man! Finally! That took all day." Amethyst says.

"Yeah, but at least you gave Steven a chance instead of shutting him down." Y/n points out.

"Yes it was important to make Steven feels secure." Garnet comments.

"Yes, Steven feels much better now." Pearl adds.

Steven gets angrier. "I'm a little tired... of you guys telling me how I feel! I know I saw something outside the stream!" He shouts now.

"And I know you didn't!" Pearl says back as she and Steven begin to argue.

"You don't tell me what I already know!

"Why is it so hard to just "listen to Steven?" You don't care what I have to say! You just want to do it your way!"

Y/n, Amethyst and Garnet both look at each other.

"Do they normally argue like this?" Y/n asks not looking away.

"Uh, this is new. I kind of like it." Amethyst comments.

"Steven, you just don't know what you're talking about." Pearl says rolling her eyes now.

"It sounds like... maybe... YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!" Steven says back.

"Ugh!" Pearl growls frustrated.

Y/n gets in between Steven and Pearl. "Okay, guys, that's enough. We're letting it go alright?" Y/n says not wanting the argument to escalate anymore.

Amethyst exits her room and sees Steven sitting in front of the warp pad, still in unrest.

"Hey, dude." She calls out to him.

An exhausted Steven looks up at Amethyst briefly, then back to the warp pad.

"Where's Y/n?" Amethyst asks.

"Training with Pearl..." Steven answers unenthusiastically.

Amethyst walks up to Steven. "You still on about that thing in the stream?"

Steven just shrugs.

"Uh, what'cha eating?" Amethyst asks and points at a bowl on Steven's lap.

"Macaroni and nothing." Steven answers as he eats a spoonful of macaroni.

Amethyst groans. "Ugh, whatever. We can hang out again when you stop being such a sad sack." She walks to the front of the beach house and out the door.

"Ugh!" Steven groans. "Why am I doing this? Fine. I give up!" He cries to the house. "Steven was wrong and everyone else was right! Nothing's going to come through that warp pad!"

A spherical object suddenly crashes through the ceiling of the house and onto the floor. It slowly activates, revealing to be a robot of sorts, and walks towards the warp pad.

Steven starts laughing hysterically. "You were the thing in the warp stream!" He shouts looking at the hole in the ceiling. "You did come from space!" He cheers then gasps. "You're trying to get to the warp pad, aren't ya?" He asks it.

The robonoid tries to get around Steven, who is blocking its path.

"Amethyst, come back!" Steven calls for her. "Oof!" The robonoid pounces at Steven, knocking him back, and lands on his chest. "I knew it, I did see something!"

The robonoid opens a hatch and reveals a small cannon.

"Guys, I was right! Waah!"

The robonoid shoots green goo at him and Steven pins it to the floor.

"Guys! Come on, check this out!" The robonoid then attacks Steven with its legs. "Ow!" He grabs one of its legs and throws it at the warp pad, cracking both the robonoid and the warp pad.

"Aah! Sorry!" Steven says.

The damaged robonoid fixes the crack of the warp pad, by spraying green goo at it, and then begins to activate it.

"Huh?... Oh no, you don't!" Steven leaps at the robonoid. "Garnet! Amethyst! Y/n! Pearl!..."

Steven and the robonoid get warped away and travel through the warp stream.

"Where are you going?!" Steven asks the robonoid as more robonoids appear inside the warp stream. "Huh? You-You're coming from all over?"

The robonoids start attacking Steven too..

"Ow! Hey! Stop it! Whoa! Huh?"

The robonoids pile on Steven and attempt to shove him out of the warp stream. His head is forced out, and he can see several other warp streams in the Warp Space, transporting more robonoids towards a single destination.

"Unnhhh! I won't... let you... Unh!" Steven tries to force his way back in the warp stream, but the robonoids manage to shove him out. Steven begins floating away in the Warp Space, still clutching a robonoid.

Steven gasps for breath and shivers. "I was right." He chuckles weakly. "And now I'm gonna die... a tired... frozen little... sad sack." A warp stream then activates behind him. "Huh?"

A pair of hands reaches out of the warp stream and pulls Steven inside, revealing to be Garnet. Steven holds onto Garnet tightly as he weeps, shivers and gasps for air.

"Take deep breaths." Garnet reassures him and takes the robonoid from Steven.

"So, this is what you saw." Garnet comments.

"I don't care about that!" Steven says tearfully.

"I do." Garnet says and adjusts her visor. "I should've listened to you like Y/n did." Garnet smiles. "You're a Crystal Gem, too."

Steven smiles in content at Garnet.

"Steven!" Y/n voice can be heard now and Steven looks down to see Y/n, Pearl and Amethyst catch up to him and Garnet in the warp stream.

"Are you okay?! Amethyst heard the Warp Pad activate, and Garnet said you were floating outside the stream and... "Pearl rants before she sees the robonoid in Garnet's hand. "Uh... what is that?" She asks.

"You don't know?" Y/n asks.

"Woah, that thing's far out." Amethyst comments.

"It's some kind of space robot. There were tons of them. And it looked like they were all going to the same place." Steven tells them all now.

The group follow through the warp stream and arrive at the Galaxy Warp. The robonoid in Garnet's hand escapes and walks up towards the warp pad to Homeworld, joining several other robonoids. The Crystal Gems run forwards and see all the robonoids spraying green goo on the Homeworld warp.

"What are they doing to the Homeworld warp?!" Pearl asks panicked.

"There's a million of them..." Y/n comments in shock as the robonoids back off as the Homeworld warp appears good as new.

"They fixed it?!" Amethyst asks.

"What does that mean?" Steven asks.

"Ah!" Pearl jumps in and the group look at her but she quickly looks worried. "I... don't know!"

The Homeworld warp begins to activate and the Crystal Gems gasp in shock. Garnet quickly grabs Y/n, Steven, Pearl and Amethyst and hides behind a tall rock. They watch at an unknown Gem arrives, looks around, and lightly stomps on the Homeworld warp.

"Hmm." The Gem hum as they look around.

"Who is that?" Y/n whispers to the gems.

"No idea." Garnet whispers back.

The gem turns on a screen with her floating fingers. "Log date, 3 1 2." A robonoid crawls up on to her shoulder. "This is Peridot, performing Earth hub maintenance check."

"Her name is Peridot it seems." Y/n comments quietly.

Pearl and Amethyst quickly cover his mouth.

"Warp repair a success. All 79 Flask Robonoids deployed and accounted for. Preparing to locate and manually reactivate Kindergarten..." Peridot pauses and looks down.

The Flask Robonoid that was damaged by Steven tries to crawl up Peridot's leg, but falls off and rolls back and forth.

"Aww. The little ones are like her babies." Steven says peeking at the scene.

Peridot, annoyed, steps on the damaged Flask Robonoid and presses against it, until it is crushed under her foot. Steven gasps loudly but quickly covers his mouth. Pearl and Amethyst raise their hands to pull Steven back in hiding, but he waves his hand at both of them and gets back down himself.

"Now to access the domestic warp." Peridot walks down the steps of the Homeworld warp. "Huh?" Peridot sees the Crying Breakfast Friends sticker on the Homeworld warp and picks it up. "Huh." She looks around. "This site may have been compromised."

Peridot returns back on the Homeworld warp and warps away, leaving a glowing green stone behind. The stone starts beeping and then detonates, deactivating all the Flask Robonoids. The Crystal Gems then come out of hiding.

"They're coming back. I can't do this." Pearl cries and covers her face in fear. "Not again."

"We're dead! We are so dead!" Amethyst says worried herself.

"Was that another Gem? Where did she come from?" Y/n asks the group.

"Yeah and What was she trying to do?" Steven also asks.

Garnet approaches the Homeworld warp. "It doesn't matter." She summons her gauntlets.

"Whoa..." Amethyst comments as she, Y/n, Steven and Pearl watch as Garnet enlarges her gauntlets to a giant size and smashes the Homeworld warp.

"She's not coming back!" Garnet says determined.

And that's the chapter! So we finally have our first appearance of Peridot! Peridot is one of my favourite characters and I always loved when I get to write her Dialogue. But what does Peridot's appearance mean for Y/n and the gems?
