The chase soon came to an end when Ruggie stopped next to an apple tree and placed y/n down, but then spun her around and wrapped his arms around her middle to keep her in place, all the while snickering at the exhausted forms of the girl's friends.

"Shishishi! That's all you can do with three of you? You're not much, are ya?" he mocks as he rests his chin on y/n's shoulder,"W-what's with this guy?! He's way too quick!" Ace heaves heavily as he rests his hands on his knees,"He's not just fast, he's freakishly acrobatic." Deuce adds as he leans back,"Ffnaaa... I can't believe I can't catch him..." Grim whines as he flops to the ground.

"Shishishi! Compared to the backstreets in the slums, this is a cakewalk. I mean, even if you caught me how're you gonna prove that I'm the culprit?" Ruggie smirks as he gives y/n's waist a little squeeze, causing her to let out a little squeak,"Hey! I'm ticklish there!" she blushes with embarrassment as she struggles in the hyena's hold. But, he's surprisingly stronger than he looks.

"Excuse me?" Deuce glares at him,"You don't have any evidence that I was the one who injured them. Did anyone see me use magic?" Ruggie says with a serious expression,"Did you get any pictures? You haven't, huh?" he questions with a smug smile as he plays with a strand of y/n's hair, all the while keeping his eyes on the trio in front of them.

"Uuugh... T-That's..." Ace stammers at the fact that they do indeed lack the evidence to accuse Ruggie for his crimes,"You're just a coward for not admitting your crime~" y/n speaks up and Ruggie frowns as he leans his face even closer to hers.

"Coward? That's praise." he says as he nuzzles his head against hers, even giving her ear a slight lick on the outer shell,"Hey! Watch it!" y/n growls as she goes to back-slap him, but Ruggie was quick to catch her wrist,"Shishishi! Next time you chase me around, have your ducks in a row first." he laughs,"Try as much as you like though, next time will probably be impossible for you, too." he says with narrowed eyes.

"Grrr... This is so frustrating." Grim cries and Ruggie straightens himself as he let's go of y/n's wrist, but still keeping one arm around her waist,"Well then, that's it for today's game of tag." he declares before reaching into his pocket.

"Oh, and I'll leave the magical pens I took here." he says as he pulls said items out and sneaks it into y/n's breast pocket,"Bye-bye." he grins, giving the side of y/n's head a brief peck before bolting off. Y/n was left a flushed mess after that move,[Geez, I'm blushing like a total school girl... I mean, I am a school girl, but that's not the point! These guys are way too suave~!] she whimpers internally.

"Shit! Screw him!" Ace screams as he ruffles his hair while y/n took out the two magical pens to hold in her hands,"Dorm Head Rosehearts is gonna have our heads..." Deuce says with an anxious expression,"Ruggie mentioned about chasing him 'next time', right? That can only mean he's gonna do something again." y/n claims.

"Ya'll still haven't learned your lesson?" Jack approaches the group, having seen everything from a safe distance,"Jack! Have you been standing there this whole time?!" y/n jumps a bit at his sudden appearance,"Huh! You should've helped instead of just watching. Your dorm is full of bastards like him." Ace scowls.

"Why are you working so hard for other people's sake?" Jack asks them,"Other people's?" Deuce raises a brow,"I understand wanting to get back at the culprit for the people who got hurt, but..." Jack trails off with furrowed brows.

"Huh? What're you talking about?" Ace asks and Jack's wars twitches at this,"Eh?" his eyes widen at this,"Who said anything about doing this for other people's sake?" Ace grins,"We just want to score points by catching the culprit." Deuce admits,"Yeah, yeah. Then get picked for the magical shift tournament. And show off for the whole world." Ace nods with crossed arms.

Jack sweatdrops before turning to y/n,"Yeah, I'm actually the only one doing this for the people who got hurt. But..." she then points down at Grim,"Grim is doing this so our dorm could enter the tournament." she adds and Jack's ears droop a little,"O-Oh... I see." he mumbles with another sweatdrop.

"I'm gonna catch that guy then be on the big screen!" Grim cheers,"I feel bad for Trey, but I'm gonna take his spot." Ace declares,"Hmph! I can't trust guys who just do things for other, but... You guys are worse than I thought." Jack smirks in amusement as he crosses his arms,"Except for y/n." he quickly adds.

"What? You're definitely worse than us. By the looks of it, you knew what was going on. That Ruggie is the culprit." Ace accuses,"Oh! Yeah. You knew that since you're in the same dorm you 'wouldn't be targeted'?" Grim glares as he makes air quotes with his front paws.

"...Oi, assholes. Go a round with me." Jack suddenly challenges as he steps towards them,"Huuuh? What's gotten into you?" Ace asks with a perplexed expression,"If guys are gonna spill their guts, they start with their fists." jack states as he gets into a fighting position with his fists raised.

"If you can show me you're not all bark and no bites, I'll tell you everything I know." he bargains,"Geh. I hate getting all sweaty." Ace whines as y/n picks Grim up,"I don't hate it. Makes things simple!" Deuce smirks as he cracks his knuckles.

"Ffgna!? Deuce's bad-boy-switch has been flipped!" Grim exclaims as y/n sighs,"Again! Why does this always happen to us!?" she yells just as Jack charges at them, except for y/n.

Ace did well with fighting Jack off, but he backed off the moment Deuce came into the picture. He fended Jack off better than him,"TAKE THIS!!" Jack shouts as he punches the side of Deuce's head, who recovers and throws a left hook,"BACK AT YOU!!!" he screams as he delivers the blow, causing Jack's head to snap to the side. They both then slacked their forms as they pant with exhaustion from having to fist-fight for five whole minutes.

"...Y-you definitely know what you're doing with your punches..." Jack pants as he wipes the corner of his mouth,"You too... Huff, you're pretty good..." Deuce winces,"Your punch hit me right in the heart..." Grim says with awe-filled eyes,"What's that supposed to mean?" y/n raises a brow at him.

"Huuuugh, huff... Haven't you all gotten just a little too caught up in this? I don't care about being picked... I'm done..." Ace whines as he throws his head back,"You guys are a mess." y/n grimace.

"... Alright. My conscience is clear. I'll tell you everything." Jack announces with crossed arms,"How did this clear your conscience exactly?" Ace sweatdrops,"I'm crossing a line here. I'm about to betray my dorm." Jack frowns heavily before taking a deep breath.

"But I can't put up with this anymore!! A fight is about testing how far you can go by challenging tough opponents. I've put myself through the wringer to see how far I can go in this tournament. Cowardly tricks make me nauseous! There's no meaning in victory like that! I wanted to use my own power to claim victory at the top!" he rants passionately.

"Ah, this guy's a pain in the ass." Ace sweatdrops before jolting to the side when y/n elbowed his side,"So, it's not because you can't forgive injustice." she states with a sweatdrop,"I get you! I really get it!! That feeling!!" Deuce shouts dramatically,"We've got our own pain in the ass." Grim deadpans and y/n nods in agreement.

Jack sighs,"Ruggie's unique magic is... something that makes another person move exactly like him. To cause the accidents, he made people move in ways that would only look like they weren't being careful." he explains.

"Thought so." y/n turns serious,"I see. So that's why he made Grim copy him in the cafeteria to keep it a secret." Ace nods with a hand on his chin,"Crap! Reminding me makes me angry all over again!" Grim growls as he slaps a paw on y/n's arm,"Grim, bud, chill." y/n deadpans,"Don't underestimate the strength of a grudge over food!" Grim shouts at her as he tugs on her shirt.

"But just a second. If he did something to make someone fall down stairs, wouldn't that look pretty suspicious?" Deuce asks,"Hey yeah, that's actually a pretty valid point! How come no one even saw him?" y/n questions.

"Ruggie isn't flying solo creating these accidents. I bet most of Savanaclaw is in on it." Jack reveals,"Ffgna!?" Grim jolts at this,"Like you said, Ruggie would stand out if he was acting weird by himself. So the other residents act like a wall for him and provide cover." Jack explains.

"The dorm is in on it... Why would they?" Deuce asks,"Hmm. How well your team does in the magical shift tournament can have a big impact on your future, right?" Ace points out,"So I can't say I don't understand their feelings." he says and Jack growls at him with a glare and bared canines.

"Wah, scary. Don't bare your fangs at me. I'm kidding." Ace quickly says with an anxious smile,"Easy Jack." y/n says softly and Jack calms down,"Hmph! The now comes before the future. There's no point if you don't show what you can do now. And I really can't stand the dorm head, Leona Kingscholar. That guy is amazing, but he never gives it his all." he rants.

"That's true, he was a really tough opponent even though he's always lazing about." Grim points out,"Right!? He has so much natural talent so why doesn't he polish it ? I hate his type the most." Jack exclaims with passion that made y/n crack a small smile,[So he actually admires his dorm leader, yet at the same time he hates his lazy habit... Noted.] she thought.

"His play play from three years was so awesome. So when I got into this school... After I joined Savanaclaw, I thought I'd be able to play Magift with him for real..." Jack admits with a mildly downcasted expression.

"So, hey... Y/n. Even though it seems like he's complaining about his dorm head..." Ace whispers to y/n,"Yeah, I noticed it too. He might actually respect him a bunch..." y/n whispers back with a small smile.

"The incidents so far might seem inconsequential, but I'm sure they've got their sights set on something bigger." Jack claims,"Something bigger?" Deuce repeats,"Who?" y/n asks with narrowed eyes.

"The dorm head of Diasomnia, Malleus Draconia." Jack reveals,"That guy is a monster on the field and led Diasomnia to victory two years in a row. Because of that, Savanaclaw lost their match without scoring a single point. All the older guys hold a grudge for that." he explains.

"Losing without scoring at all... That has to be frustrating for a dorm that's usually at the top..." Deuce furrows his brows,"Yeah. They were humiliated while the whole world watched. They're trying to retake their glory. But with underhanded methods." Jack spat with disgust.

"So they're planning to do something to Diasomnia the day of the tournament?" Ace narrows his eyes,"That's right. So I'm gonna crush that plan!" Jack declares.

"Thank you for telling us all of this." Riddle spoke up from behind Jack as he and Cater approaches the group,"Dorm Head Rosehearts, Diamond." Deuce perks up as y/n gives Riddle and Cater their magical pens back after putting Grim down,"Here you go." she breathes out.

"Thank you." Riddle gives her a smile of gratitude before turning serious once more,"I can't allow anyone to sully our important traditions with their personal grudges." he declares,"What do you wanna do? Riddle." Cater asks as he gives y/n a side hug.

"We have no evidence against Ruggie for the incidents so far, so we can't convict him." Riddle pinches his chin between two fingers,"Leona and his group are intelligent. They'd find a way out if we tried to accuse them." he states.

"That means we have to go after them at the scene of the crime?" Ace questions and Riddle nods,"I have an idea. First..." he's cut off by Jack holding a hand up,"Wait. I just shared information with you, I have no intention of teaming up." he says as he puts his hand down.

"Eh! You're saying that now?" Cater says with an awkward smile,"I'm going to take down my dorm myself. See ya." Jack turns to leave, but y/n quickly gets out from under Cater's and steps in front of the Savanaclaw boy.

"Hold it. Jack, what do you think you can do alone? I mean, you couldn't stop any of the other incidents so far, could you?" she points out with a smug smirk,"... Ah?" Jack glares down at her, but y/n doesn't falter.

"I-It's back... Y/n's blunt insight..." Grim utters with a sweatdrop,"Your chances of winning one versus the whole dorm are pretty slim." Deuce chimes in and Jack spares him a glance,"Jack, if you really wanna stop 'em, let's work together. After all, smart wolves hunt in a pack." y/n coaxes with a smile and Jack stays quiet for a moment.

"...Fine. I'll hear you out." he says as he turns back around,"But. If I don't like your plan, I'm out." he growls,"This guy is seriously a pain-Ow!" y/n jabs Ace's side with her elbow, an innocent smile on her face.

"His stubbornness is right in line with yours Ace." Cater teases,"Then to continue what I was saying earlier. First..." Riddle proceeds to tell everyone his plan and everyone was impressed by the idea he came up with.

"I see now. This works." Ace smiles as he plants a fist in his open hand,"Leave it to Dorm Head Rosehearts." Deuce says with an admired tone,"Awesome plan, Riddle!" y/n chirps with a thumbs up and a wink, causing said boy to turn a slight pink.

"Then I'll be running around getting stuff done until the day of the tournament." Cater smiles as he pulls his phone out,"I'm counting on you. Make sure not to draw suspicion." Riddle tells him and Cater nods at him before turning to Jack.

"And? Now that you've heard Riddle's plan, what'll you do Jack? You out?" he asks and Jack takes a moment to think the plan through,"... It's not a cowardly plan." he mutters before clearing his throat,"...I'll help you out, this time." he says coolly,"This guy's isn't honest at all." Grim deadpans at the boy's obvious tail wagging.

"Let's go home. Ugh, I'm so beat." Ace whines with exhaustion,"And I'm starving." Grim pats his belly,"Oh, by the way, first years." Riddle calls out to the group of first years,"Since it was in the name of gathering information, I will overlook you breaking school rule number 6, 'Personal fights are strictly prohibited on school grounds', but..." everyone, except Cater, stiffens up at his stern expression,"Next time it will be off with all of your heads. Understood?" he glares.

"Yes. I'm so sorry." the Ramshackle duo and Uno Braincell Duo tremble at this as they bow their heads,"... Uh-huh." Jack nodded absent-mindedly as he avoids eye contact, even he himself felt a bit intimidated by Riddle's sharp gaze.

"Good. Let's go back to the dorm." Riddle nods, satisfied at the outcome before he and Cater turn to leave,"I thought he looked like a weakling, but your dorm head is terrifying." Jack whispers to the Heartslabyul duo,"I know, right? He's easy to mistake for a hedgehog, but he's actually got the quills of a porcupine. It's best not to disobey him." Ace whispers back.

"Okay guys. Let's keep the ball rolling until tournament day!" y/n cheers as she oats Ace and Jack's back before she and Grim made their way back to their own dorm. Jack turns a slight pink as his tail wags a bit,[C-cute...] he thought, eyes focused on the girl's eager and excited smile.

Meanwhile, back at Savanaclaw...

Ruggie had just entered the lounge area when a voice called out to him,"Ruggie. I heard you were chased around by those brats from Heartslabyul while carrying that herbivore this afternoon." Leona spoke up from his lying position on a lounge chair.

"That's why I told you to never leave evidence behind! Fool!" he roars as he got up from his chair to tower over Ruggie,"T-That's not it. There were certain circumstances..." Ruggie stammer a bit with a nervous smile as his ears are pinned back,"They haven't gotten their hands on any evidence, so please don't worry about it." his grin strains as he takes a step back.

"... Tsk." Leona scoffs,"I paid a high price to that nasty octo-punk for his help. If something goes wrong, it's you who's getting fired, be prepared." he spat,"Prep for the main dish is going smoothly." Ruggie says as he makes an 'A-OK' sign.

"We'll make sure to get those Diasomnia jerks to squeal." Savanaclaw A grins cruelly,"Aah, I'm so excited to see it play out. I want to see Malleus Draconia on his knees in shame in front of Leona. The whole world is sure to applaud us..." Ruggie smirks widely as his body shivers with pleasure at the thought of that scenario happening.

"Even a hyena like me could get a big name scout." he adds,"The pro leagues are gonna want us too." Savanaclaw A cheers,"Hah. You guys are already getting excited like you've already caught your prey." Leona muses with a hand on his hip as a smirk paints his lips.

"And your popularity will skyrocket, Leona!" Savanaclaw B shouts,"Everyone in the Sunset Savannah are gonna think is a better fit to be king." Savanaclaw A claims and Leona immediately frowns at this as he turns his head to the side,"Theory and practice are two different things." he mumbles.

"Huh?" Ruggie raises a brow,"... Nothing." Leona waves him off before yawning,"I'm going to bed. Scatter." he commands,"Roger. Good night, Leona." Ruggie does a mocking two-finger salute before he and the other residents walked off to bed.

"Being at the top at school doesn't mean the whole world gets turned on its head." Leona scowls as he crosses his arms, nails digging into his arms.

Back at Ramshackle Dorm...

Y/n was busy taking a bath before her vision goes back to the damn Ink Room again. Three drops of ink is added to the pool just as another pain is shot through her heart.

She gasps as she ducks her under water to scream, not wanting to alert or worry Grim nor the ghosts,[It hurts so much!! When will this end!?] she thought as her tears mixes in with the bath water before she finally resurfaces. She rubs her chest to try and ease the pain while she sits deep in thought.

[Could it be... That these visions are a warning sign that someone is about to overblot? But, why am I feeling so much pain then?]
