“Titans!” Robin yelled through the intercom and the team rushed into the common room as the words were uttered through Robin’s mouth.
“What is it, Robin?” Starfire asked, worry protruding from her tone.
“If this is another drill, I am going to be sooo pleased.” Raven said, sarcasm sharpening her words. Robin’s eyes narrowed.
“This is not a drill.” He answer and turned the Titan’s attention to the screen in front of him. Ugly, green lizard monsters filled the screen, terrorizing Jump City and Starfire pailed.
“I was wondering what in the world GORDANIANS are doing on Earth?!?” He remarked and eyed Starfire.
“I-I did not do anything! I do not know why they would be here once again!” Starfire stuttered. “Unless-”
“Unless what, Star?” Robin asked through gritted teeth.
“Bro! Calm down, Star didn’t do anything bad, you will be making her feel worse about the situation at hand.” Beast Boy stated and patted Robin on the back.
“I can’t calm down when the entire world is at stake!” He shot back and Beast Boy. Beast Boy raised his hands in the air and backed away from Robin. “Star, what did you do?”
Starfire shifted her feet back and forth on the floor, eyes to the ground.
“I-I did know this was wrong!” She blurted and faced the Titans, tears threatening to spill over. “I contacted Galfore to check on Tamaran and he told me that the Gordanians have been in contact with him. He told me that they were looking for me again because of the “crimes” I had committed against them. Of course, I did no such thing, all of you know I did not do the criminal works. So, he warned me to be careful. They must have did the tracing of our conversation to here. I am so sorry!”
“Star? How could you be so careless! You have endangered the entire earth! Do you know how many people have died?” Robin yelled, grabbing her arm with almost super human strength.
“D-di-died?” The color now completely drained from her face, her hands came up to her face shaking, tremor aftershocks controlling her muscles.
“Died! Died you, you- TROQ! Over 500! 500! Do you know how much that is?” Robin screeched and slapped her across the face. Starfire sucked in a breath, tears now flowing freely down her reddened face.
“I know. I know…” Starfire whispered, her entire body shook.
“Val-Yor was right, you are just a useless, meaningless life form! Ugh! Why do Troqs have to be so stupid?” He let go of her arm and paced around the room. Cyborg walked over a nodded to Robin and nodded.
“I agree, we can’t have a troq disrupting everything. Starfire, you are not wanted here anymore. You are just as worse as Slade.” Starfire dropped to the ground about to protest as Raven floated over to side with Robin and Cyborg.
“I second that notion.” Raven muttered.
“What notion?”
Starfire looked over to Beast Boy, pleading to her little brother to stand up for her. But he just raised an eyebrow and shook his head. BB strolled over to the other side and crossed his arms over his chest.
“Sorry, but I don’t side with stupid troqies.” He told her with an eye roll. Starfire eyes widened in shock and she put her hands to her head. She could not comprehend was was going on, it was all too fast. Her only family leaving her. Hating her. She gripped the thick strands of her fiery hair and pulled hard. She shrieked and her tears multiplied like the stars.

“Please! Do not leave me!” She bawled. Robin took a couple of steps closer to her and lifted her chin to meet his eyes.
“Oh, we’re not leaving you. You are leaving us.” Robin grinned and pulled out his birdarang with the point glinting in the sunlight. He raised his hand into the air and the birdarang headed straight for her heart. She shielded her eyes and screamed for the death that was coming…

Starfire sat up and screeched. Breaths coming out labored, heart nailing her chest, eyes salty, clouded. She scanned the room around her, whipping her head around. She was in her room. In her bed. Starfire glanced at the clock, two am. She was asleep, she just had a nightmare. But Star didn’t breathe a sigh of relief, her heart rate didn’t go down. Her knees curled up and found her chest, her hands fingering her knees. Her ears picked up the sounds of lights turning on and footsteps in the hall, trying to locate the nightly disturbance. But she knew what danger the world was in.
“They are here.” She whispered as she gently arose from her bed and flew into the hall.

Starfire landed in the common room with the other Titans who were still in pajamas.
“What is going on?” Raven asked groggily, clearly in a bad mood from being awakened from her sleep.
“I heard a scream, bros. Was that you, Star?” Beast Boy directed the attention to Starfire. She nodded sheepishly.
“I had a mare of the night, but it is more than that. I can sense them… they are here. Looking for me at this moment.” Robin stepped forward and placed a hand on her shoulder, Starfire flinched as she remembered how Robin treated her in her dream. He shook off the flinch.
“Star, who is here?” Robin gently wondered. Starfire let her head rest on her shoulder.
“The Gordanians.” She whispered as the other Titans gasped in shock.
“But, didn’t we get rid of the Gordanians like, forever ago?” Cyborg said, shifting his position.
“Yes, but-” Starfire started.
“But what?” Cyborg cut her off. Starfire sighed.
“The mare of the night was my mind warning me of the Gordanians, that is how Tamaranian minds work. Dreams and Mares of Night are used as warnings of something that is here. They are here for me, but the reason is because… because I did the escaping of their prisons, defeated their guards and more; I am a wanted criminal in the citadel. They are here to arrest me.” Starfire murmured softly. Robin shook his head.
“But isn’t what they did to you illegal? Doesn’t that erase your criminal status?”
“I wish it did, Robin;” She sighed. “But even though what they did was the illegal by the galaxy by laws, they likely just had to pay a fine since it was the entire planet that did the breaking of that law. But because of what I did to do the escaping, other crimes were committed in the eyes of the Gordanians.”
“Well, Gordanian laws are stupid!” Beast Boy resolved.
“Yeah, I agree with Beasty; we know you did nothing wrong, Star.” Cyborg remarked. Starfire smiled sadly.
“Thank you my friends, but if only you could convince that to them.”
“Why don’t we show them who is boss just like last time and kick them off our planet?” Robin suggested, his feet finding the metal floor with a thud.
“They will still come after Starfire, she will never be truly safe.” Raven said and she turned to Starfire. “Can’t you just pay them a fine and get this all over with?”

“I might be a Tamaranian Princess, but the fine they would require would far surpass the entire Tamaranian treasury.” Starfire explained, biting her lip. Robin opened his mouth to say something when he was abruptly interrupted by the monitor fizzing on. A ugly, slimy reptile filled the screen with a translator clear on its neck.
“Earthlings!” It boomed. Starfire noticed out of the corner of eye , that the same broadcast was being shown on the Jump City skyscraper TV. Beast Boy must have noticed the same thing, for he whispered “It’s being broadcasted everywhere.”
“We are the alien species that in your primitive language are called Gordanians,” It continued. “You have a criminal that is being harbored in your planet right now,” A image of Starfire showed up on the monitor, a more recent picture since she had matured a lot since the last time the Gordanians had saw her.
“If you know of her whereabouts, we will spare your puny lives; but if she is not returned in the next 24 hours, your lives will be exterminated like the bugs you are.” And with that, the transmission ended, leaving all monitors with a gray feed. The Titans turned to look at Starfire, eyes steaming with fire.
“That… was Dromox.” She seethed. “Their leader.” Starfire pounded her fist on the table next to her, splitting the table in half. And Starfire never got mad.
“Starfire, please calm down-” Robin began.
“Robin, I cannot do the calming down!” Starfire began to hyperventilate and tears began leaking from her emerald eyes. “They are threatening the lives of all earthlings because of something that I cannot be accused of!” He put his hand on her shoulder and gently rubbed his thumb of her collarbone.
“Star,” He whispered. “It’s going to be okay. We will do exactly as we did last time, so them that if they mess with Earth, they mess with the Titans.” She put her hand over his and turned her salted eyes to his.
“Thank you, Robin. But something tells me that we will not be as lucky as we were the last time.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Titans crept around the alleyways, spying on every Gordanian ship that crowded the atmosphere.
“That is a lot of ships.” Beast Boy commented and Raven smacked him on the back of the head. He glared at her and rubbed the back of his head.
“Ow! Rae-Rae, I thought we discussed this!” He whined.
“I am sorry, but I don’t speak whinese or obviousish.” She commented with a smirk. Beast Boy rolled his eye will Cyborg turned around to shush them. The Titans regrouped in the dank alleyway and formed a small circle.
“Okay, our goal, get rid of those ships and make them stop coming after Star.” Robin stated with a low voice. Raven sighed and pointed a finger to BB.
“As I told Beast Boy, I don’t speak obv-” Robin held up a hand.
“Okay, okay, whatever.” Robin said and Cyborg looked at all of them with intent.
“What is with all of you guys? You are all acting really, really weird!” Cyborg blurted, eyeing everyone suspiciously.
“Look, Cy, we are just under a lot of pressure. Sorry for our brashness and sarcasm. Am I right?” Robin looked at the other Titans who nodded sheepishly. Cyborg nodded and then turned to Robin.
“Okay, so what is the plan?” He asked.
Robin smirked, “My plan was to wing it.”
“WING IT?!” Cyborg’s hands flew up to his head and his eye bulged wide. “YOU NEVER WING IT!”
“Winging it is apart of my plan. The Gordanians are very unpredictable. Not having a set plan and seeing what happens is the best course of action.” Robin explained.
“I happen to agree with Robin, it is a very wise move.” Starfire added.
“Fine, well, let’s go kick us some Gordanian butt!” Cyborg announced and along with the other Titans ran out to the middle of the street.
“Hey!” Robin yelled at the nearest Gordanian ship occupying the city. Its red scanners filled the blank space between the Titans, scanning each of them and beeping green when it got to Starfire.
The monitor on the ship lit up, revealing none other than Dromox himself.
“You have brought us the alien woman, your planet will be spared.” Dromox commented, eyeing the Titans wearily.
“Oh, we haven’t brought the ‘alien woman’ for you. We wanted to let you know that if you want our friend, Starfire, you are going to go through us.” Robin announced as he stood in a fighting stance as did the other Titans.
“Are you challenging the Gordanians for an insignificant troq as her?” Dromox boomed.
“You bet, bro!” Beast Boy yelled out.
“Well then, prepare for your lives to end!” Dromox shouted and the transmission ended. The missiles on the ship loaded with alien missiles as Robin yelled “Titans, GO!” And the Titans scattered as the missiles launched on the Titans, heat sensors tracking each one of them. Cyborg easily blasted his to bits with ihs ion cannon, Beast Boy turned into a tiger and ripped his to shreds. Robin jumped on top of his missiles and directed it towards the lake, jumping off of it as it exploded in the water. Raven and Starfire both blasted theirs with their own powers; the Titans then regrouped.
“Pssh! That was easy, those stupid Gordanians are gonna have to do more than that to defeat us!” Beast Boy announced as the other Titans looked behind him with wide eyes.
“I know, I know, my mad skills are so awesome!” Beast Boy continued, mistaking the wide eyes for the glory of himself.
“No, Beast Boy;” Raven whispered. “Look behind you.” Beast Boy whipped around and screamed loudly, hiding behind Raven.
“My hero.” She murmured as Beast Boy shivered behind her. In front of them, were hundreds of Gordanian made warrior bots, all armed with spears and laser blasters.
“What are we to do?” Starfire asked, voice quaking.
“The only thing that we can do, “ Cyborg began. “Star, if you want your freedom; you have to fight for it.” Starfire nodded solemnly, she knew the cost of her freedom.
“Well then, TITANS GO!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The sparks and wires of fragmented Gordanian robots surrounded the city of Jump, sizzling in the early morning air. The sun had yet to arisen as Starfire shot a starbolt at the last robot and it shrieked; collapsing to the ground, dismantled. The titans leisurely walked to the middle of the crushed parts, fatigued at all the energy used to protect their friend from being taken away. Starfire giggled with glee as she regrouped with her friends and gave them all a hug, and Robin a grateful kiss.
“Friends thank you so much! How can I ever repay you?” She told them, a smile tugging at her lips.
“Star, you are all we want.” Robin said and she bit her lip and blushed. The fall air surrounded them all and gave them all a sense of inner peace. The Gordanians were gone, Starfire was safe, life was normal again. Until that little blue blip across the sky came, and ruined the perfection of victory. As the titans were relishing in their victory, Starfire noticed the little blue blip getting closer and closer to the Titans. She narrowed her eyes and squinted, trying to decipher what object seemed to be on course with them. A gasp escaped her throat and she frantically looked over at Robin. The collision course was to be hit in less than a few seconds.
“ROBIN!” She yelled and, just as if time slowed, she pushed Robin out of the way and he landed hard on the concrete ground. The impact of the collision with Starfire shocked her body, the substance now flowing in her veins. She collapsed on the ground with a sickening thud on her head and blood spilling out of her mouth. And up in the clouds, the ominous presence of the Gordanian ship watched.
“No Tamaranian could have survived that.” Dromox informed his superior through a holo projector. “We knew that self hearted woman would save her love, and the substance blasted is extremely lethal to her kind. If we cannot have this criminal, it is better off she is dead.” His superior nodded and commanded Dromox in their native tongue to return to the Citadel and forget the dead Tamaranian. Dromox nodded and his ship disappeared into the atmosphere.
Robin dusted himself off, as did the other Titans from the impact. He dusted the rubble off from his mask and what he saw stopped his heart. His love on the ground, skin turning blue, blood spilling from her nose, mouth, knees, not moving.
“STARFIRE!” He screamed and he ran over to her, even more disgusted at her state up close.
“Oh God,” He whispered. He gently moved a dirty red strand of hair from her closed eyes. “No, no, no, no, NO!” He slammed his fist against the broken concrete. Tears carefully revealed themselves from underneath his mask, soaking the material. The tears traced clean lines across his dirty face and landed on Starfire’s still chest. Robin screamed in agony and sobbed on the ground next to her. Her lips turned a pale, deathly white and splotches of white on her now blue skin appeared. The other Titans suddenly ran over, scared at what they would find.
“Is she-?” Beast Boy probed slowly, but the expression from Robin’s face told him everything he needed to know. His jaw dropped in shock.
“This is all my fault!” Robin screeched as Cyborg picked him up off the ground, squaring his shoulders.
“Hey! HEY!” He slapped Robin across the face and Robin shut up. “Hey! You listen to me now mister, this was not your fault. And I don’t want to hear you blaming yourself for what happened here!”
As Cyborg was about to continue, Raven slowly walked around the body, eyes glowing black.
“Starfire did this because she loved you. She sacrificed herself to save your life. If you sit around blaming yourself for this, Star’s sacrifice would be in vain! You need live man, or else you might as well say Starfire meant nothing to us.” He said, as a tear trickled down his one good eye. Robin nodded slowly, his face stinging from the cuts.
Beast Boy dropped to the ground behind them, poking the concrete slowly. Pain masked his face, tears brimming in his eyes. Cyborg and Robin walked over to him and wrapped him in a hug. Raven continued to circle Starfire’s body, as the sky thundered above and rain drowned their tears…
TO BE CONTINUED
I am so evil aren’t I? Yes, I know, I KNOW! This is part one of the season finale and then there is one more and that is it! :O I can’t believe it! Thanks so much for all your support and stayed tuned for the last edition; you definitely will not want to miss all the plot twists and emotion in the last one. :) Thanks again!
PS:Yes, I know I didn’t include a big battle scene between the Titan and the Gordanian army but I felt like it would be better to leave it up to your imagination. Plus, it would have been a lot of boring descriptions and so I believe it is a win for me and a win for you just to see the aftermath.

HUD: Wargame (Sci-Fi GameLit)
★★★★★UNFRIGGENBELIEVABLE!!!!!! "HUD: Wargame is a sci-fi GameLit worth reading." -TienSwitch ★★★★★Rock-solid FPS GameLit. "Nic - the main character - is an ambitious, hyper-competitive perfectionist, and the story fortunately handles him correctly in that it does not push these traits too far." -Akaso ★★★★★This is a good one! "This is one of those stories where you read the first few paragraphs and can just tell that the author has the chops to tell a story. It's engaging and the rules are well thought out and clearly explained. The action is punchy and exciting. Anyway, read it." -HonourRae In the future, everything is a game. Even war. 18-year-old Nic Sigfried wants the high score. Virtually piloting a real-life robot, he'll face off against his peers with the help of his AI guidance system, RTIFIS. The prize? New worlds across the galaxy that are ripe for human conquest and terraforming. It sounds glamorous on paper, but this job might be more dangerous than he thought... HUD: Wargame is the first of a five-part sci-fi series featuring GameLit elements. HUD: Wargame contains some (simulated) violence and very sparing PG-13 profanity. Updates Monday-Thursday-Saturday.
